Been trying to find a place with good pistachio ice cream. This one is not bad. Has good pistachio flavor. Many other places have very little flavor or very fake flavors with neon green colorings. The cookies and cream is lacking in flavor though. Maybe hit or miss on the flavors.
So good, I'm obsessed! Love their new monthly flavors, including the mini egg Oreo cheesecake. Love getting it in a cup with cone on top!
This is such a lovely ice cream place. I've always wanted to try it out and finally got to during the Italian day on commercial drive. They had a tent set up outside their store which was great so we were able to line up and get what we wanted. Unfortunately they only had a few flavours at their tent (including two V flavours) so we only got to choose from what they had unless we went inside the store to see more options. However what I can say is that the staff are wonderful and the gelato is even MORE DELICIOUS!

Just like other places, you pay for what you want then sample anything your heart desires, before choosing your final order. Ive had gelato on the streets of italy and let me tell you, this place is really good. Its as if you are having gelato in italy. Very silky smooth and no lumps. Very rich and deep with flavour. Best priced gelato in vancouver. Wont break the bank for sure. But quality is excellent! Each flavour i have tried, you can really taste and saviur the advertised ingridient. Nothing is masked or hidden or gets lost in the flavours. You can even get a single cone with half and half flavour. Service is great and with a smile. Definitely a gem on the drive!

Being the summer, there was quite a long lineup for Dolce Amore but it moved fairly quickly with friendly staff behind the counter. They have a lot of options for flavours and I decided on apple pie and pistachio. Both were very delicious and tasted very fresh. Highly recommended gelato on the Drive!
Finally got to try this place and was not disappointed. Got the kids size scoop (~4.50$) of GTL which was Toffee flavour. So rich, creamy, not TOO sweet which was good. The best part is they have all the allergens up on the board so picking something without nuts was much easier than asking the worker about every single flavour. They gave us samples as well :)

I had a scoop of Lavender Buzz and a scoop of Brown Butter Pecan Toffee. Lavender Buzz (lavender with honeycomb and honey swirl) was my favourite because of how unique it was but both flavours were delicious. The texture of their gelato is so velvety and smooth, which is amazing by itself and highlighted by the crunchy flavour swirls. Prices aren't cheap but are on the lower side when it comes to gelato around here, and not a bad deal for the quality and big scoops.
A cute little Gelato shop located on commercial. Like many gelato/ice cream shops you can sample some of their ice cream. I've tried their blueberry mangia cheesecake, salted caramel and cioccolato. Since it was after lunch, I wanted something light and got the blueberry mangia cheesecake. It was on the sweet side but it was good and gotta love the Graham cracker crust!! If I wasn't so full or if it was at night, I'd definitely get the cioccolato, its super rich and yummy and perfect if you're craving chocolate. Salted caramel here is actually salted, so if you're a salted caramel person definetly get this! I did notice the vegan ice cream was quite popular but I didn't get to try it. Maybe next time!

They have a large selection of flavours ranging from classic flavours to unique flavours. Also, look at how BIG these scoops are! P.S. There are holes on their tables to hold your cones, literally the best thing ever A single scoop costs $5.50 and you have a choice of getting it in a cup or cone.
The gelato was AMAZING!! I personally have never tried the tiramisu flavor before but it's now my favorite flavor. There portions are good sized for one person, and have lots of flavors to try. Hoping to visit again soon!
I have to start by saying, HUGE LINE but it MOVES FAST! The flavour selection was phenomenal. The allow tastes and aren't fussy about how many you try. Even in peak hours. The staff was so friendly but efficient. I had the Cherry mascarpone and it was SENSATIONAL! But the toffee was also rich and creamy. The red currant was so light but exactly right. I just had to get the cherry, the flavour combo was so so unique. And i have to say LOVE-love the generous serving size! Outside there are tables as-well as inside. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I'll definitely be stopping by next time I'm in the area. read more

Dolce Amore offers so many different flavours and I love that they have vegan options as well. Their gelato is super creamy. I tried out their blueberry mangia a delectable blueberry cheesecake flavour and bed of roses an earl grey rose. Both flavours were very fresh and not too sweet! I tried their pistachio gelato and it reminded me of the my favourite pistachio gelato I had in Florence. It's definitely the best pistachio gelato I've had in Canada. I ended up buying a pint to take home after. I taste tested some other flavours and they were all good too. They have some tables where you can just sit and eat your ice cream. Staff were all very friendly too. We will definitely be coming back. read more

I love Gelatos! My best gelatos are still from Italy obviously! But now I can say Dolce Amore ranks as high as the Italian Gelatos from Italy. who said one scoop of ice cream is not enough ?? If you share such a thought you gotta try this place first : A huge scoop of soft and tasty ice cream full of real flavor. You can also add the chocolat cone so you would enjoy the full experience to the last bite of it. They have so many appealing flavors and we would definetly go back to try them out. If you're looking for good gelato on the drive then this is the place to go. On a late wednesday night, there was quite a lineup and we had to wait outside on the street due to social distancing rules. Once inside, my friend and I both got 1 scoop of the white chocolate raspberry flavour and it was so good. The raspberry reminded me of a compote or jam and had a delicious freshness to it. The ice cream was so creamy and the cone was nice and crispy and sweet. Will definitely return to try other flavours. read more

One of my favourite spots for gelato in Vancouver definitely has to be Dolce Amore! I ordered the Ginger Peach Apricot + Roasted Fig by the pint. The flavours here are phenomenal and the pints are packed! These were two of the seasonal flavours that just called out to me amongst the many cause rarely do I see these elsewhere. And they were absolutely divine! The fig had a very nice creamy natural sweetness that will for sure suit the palates of those who enjoy this beautiful fruit. And that Ginger Peach Apricot just blew me away! Never would I have thought I'd enjoy ginger gelato this much! Will definitely look out for more ginger flavoured gelato because it is a new found fave of mine! read more
Cute little gelato place! Lots of different flavours and made in shop on the day! Perfect for the current weather situation! Definitely recommend the fruit flavours ! Service is good and they also have a bathroom! Yay. There are seats inside and could fit probably around 20 pax. Their cheesecakes and cookies also looked divine! After dinner on Commercial Drive, we wanted dessert nearby. We decided to wander and after a couple blocks spotted Dolce Amore. New gelato spot I've never heard of? Yes, please. We dropped in on a Wednesday evening (around 7:00pm). Only a couple people popped in while we were there. The inside is aesthetically pleasing with a monochrome backdrop of black and white. The gelato logo is pretty slick. The menu is small with a few baked goods, coffee, gelato treats and gelato. Nice that the prices already include tax. There were two cases full of gelato; I counted 34 flavours. - Mango and cherry ($6.75 double scoop) - we were craving fruity flavours so stuck with two classics. Cherry was sweet, mango was more up my alley. Cool little gelato spot. Love how there's so many dessert places around town. 3.5 stars. read more

This place was excellent! Came here after having dinner on the drive. My wife had the pistachio and I had the mango, and we took home a pint of the coffee. All three were delicious. The mango tasted like frozen liquified mangoes. Soooo goood! Will defiantly be back! read more

One of my Gelato hauls and various enjoyment moments captured from my Instagram. Currently my one and only top fave gelato & ice cream place. Different toppings from my family's backyard or other great french pastry places. Genius couple who are the owners and make Pastry Chef level awesome Gelato flavors with real ingredients. Not preservatives, fillers, stabilizers, etc. They do Italian flavors like they're supposed to, and new innovative ideas and combinations flavors very well indeed. Definitely worth it@^u^@ read more

So yummy! This place makes a great pistachio gelato, which not every shop can pull off, and they've got a fair number of other flavors besides. They've got a nice variety of chocolatey and seasonal flavours, which are definitely a weakness of mine. I like that you pay first and pick your options later, and I like that your single scoop can actually be two "small" scoops of different flavors, which is more than enough to enjoy whatever you like. Plus the prices are pretty reasonable and the staff are lovely! I'd definitely come by here again to try more! read more
Given the amount of gelato and ice cream places on commercial drive, it takes an edge to attract the amount of constant customers that Dolce Amore does. For them, this might be the cute, slightly industrial aesthetic of the ice cream shop. A definite consideration for Instagram foodies was in mind with the decor. I went here with a group of friends on a Friday night, around 9:00pm, and the line was maybe 10-12 people deep. As they would serve customers, the same amount of people would come in and add to the line. Even with the amount of customers they had, they were very well staffed and could quickly get through the line without us having to wait too long. I was in line for around 5 minutes! The variety of gelato is decent. Most of which were more staple Italian and chocolately flavours and maybe 4 to 5 fruity flavours. As a person who usually gravitates towards fruit flavoured gelatos, the options weren't all too great for me, though I did decide to get the tiramisu today. It was definitely true to taste BUT did get quite sweet the more you ate it. Dolce Amore is a solid place to grab a gelato post-dinner. Does the taste of their product stand out amongst its many competitors? Probably not, especially when places like Elephant Garden Creamery are close by, but it's convenient location in the heart of Commercial Drive definitely give it ample business. read more
On a late Sunday afternoon, we had a hankering for a good old frozen treat. Being in the vicinity of Commercial, we felt it only natural to Yelp our possibilities. Gelateria Dolce Amore(GDA) came up first in terms of both vicinity and rating, the latter we were to find out for good reason! While they may not have the selection of La Casa Gelato or the cachet of Rain or Shine or Earnest, what they do have is quality. We shared two scoops of Pistachio and Nutella in a vanilla cone. Cost was about $7 and the scoops were quite generous. The Pistachio was capital A-mazing! Presentation of the flavours themselves was nice, though perhaps the labels could use some updating. The servers were pleasant and happy to provide samples, which were served up without a hint of attitude or impatience! They don't have much in the way of seating in their storefront, but the table we sat at did have holes(think the same kind you'd see at Pajo's) to fit the cones inside comfortably. These would come in handy if you're a hand-talker or get an unexpected phone call or text. Parking is challenging in this area, but if you're lucky you can find metered parking on Commercial. If you're very patient, try some of the side streets nearby and you may luck into a free 2 hour spot in the residential neighbourhood. Highly recommended for a hot summer afternoon. decided to pop in today to treat myself to some vegan ice cream. my gf gets really excited about cookies so she got the chocolate chip cookie. and she's is LIVING HER BEST LIFE. i also tried the cookie and wow. for only $2 you feel like you are a high way robber! it's so delicious and definitely worth the cost. my pistachio vegan ice cream is fantastic. highly worth the trip. 5/5 will get another cookie. read more
