We have gone to this restaurant many years many times. The food was terrible. We ordered garlic bread, awful saturated with butter center gooey, ate a bit of crust. So while it was not the worst pizza I have eaten, it was by no means worth the hour wait. We went on a Sunday, and entered the restaurant at 4:15- 4:20. The place consists of a bar that seats 15-20 and a dining room with 4 booths and a table. There was 4 people in the dining room and maybe 8-10 people in the bar when we walked in. We were told by the waitress that we needed to order right away, since the kitchen was 45 minutes out already... ?? Excuse me?? there's 14 people in the place and you're 45 minutes out? Still, we had read the reviews, and were prepared for a wait. Our appetizer came out in about 15 minutes (Butter battered mushrooms) they were good, but nothing spectacular. It was literally an hour for our pizza to come out. I don't know if they make the crust to order, but that's the only reason I can think why it would take that long. The pizza was loaded with toppings I think we got the deluxe. The sausage is very full of cinnamon or allspice or something similar, I liked it OK, my wife did not care for it. The crust was a thin crust pizza, it was similar to other bar pizza's I've had, and nothing special. The woman behind us was exclaiming that it was the best crust she had ever had. I felt sorry for her, since even a frozen pizza gave this one a run for it's money. If I were you, rather than waiting a ridiculous amount of time for a mediocre pizza, do yourself a favor and hop in your car and drive into Milwaukee for Transfer's pizza. 8 years on the East Coast and I know my pizza. This is my favorite pizza ever. Typically I only eat thick crust, and don't even like thin...but this is an exception for me. The pepperoni pizza is to die for. First of all the entire pizza is covered in so much pepperoni that you can barely see the cheese. Second, it is the perfect thickness and seasoned to perfection as well. The cheese is amazing. We decided to eat here to try something new and the place got great reviews. Service: Slow (to get drinks, refills and place an order). It's organized chaos at best. Then we played musical chairs to get out of the way of the TV. The two ladies were nice behind the bar. Food: Since the Meat pizza was an hour out (we were prepared for this), we ordered a Reuben Roll app. It was okay. Minimal meat and one had nothing but a fatty piece of meat that was inedible. The pizza was definitely not worth the hour wait. It's different in the proportion of ingredients of a more traditional pub pizza. The amount of toppings overwhelm the rest of the pizza. The quality was heh. I rather see less toppings and better quality ingredients and to be able to taste the sauce and crust. While there the folks next to us complained of the same with their mushroom pizza. I know I'm in the minority here. It's a cute place, but we won't be back. read more

Quaint bar and restaurant. We started with an appetizer. The mozzarella sticks were rolled in egg roll wrappers and the cheese in the middle was huge! Served with a thick marinara sauce. The pizza was delish! A thicker style; thin crust that was crunchy. The sauce is a sweeter style sauce that is thick,full of flavor and hearty. The sausage is huge chunks slathered all over the pizza. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger and it came with potato chips. She said the burger was juicy and had a nice texture. Doc's is the definition of a Wisconsin dive bar and is a hole in the wall, but you will be blown away by their thin crust pizza. Docs is a lake country staple. Not because it's the best thin crust pizza ever, it's good, but not great. And not because the interior decor is amazing, it's small town, it's what you'd expect for a pub on the lake. It's also not because of amazing service, the servers are anywhere from "welcoming" to "slightly inconvenienced" to serve you. Docs is a staple so you can say you've been before. Like a lot of small joints in lake country, the locals like it because of fond memories. But if you're not a local, and you don't have the fond memories, and you're judging solely based on restaurant ambiance or high end food, than you might not like it. Docs is one of those places that you either like, because you "get it" or you dislike, because it's not your version of charming. It's a 4 star, because there's nothing about it that "wows" a foodie, but it's a 4 because it's tasty pizza, it doesn't need to be more than that. read more

Went again this past weekend. Walked in and it was packed but again found two seats at the bar right away. We ordered a sausage, pepperoni, peppers and onion and it was even better than the first time!! One thing I forgot to mention is that in their condiment carrier they offer garlic powder. Went to Doc's last night and had a fantastic time! I knew it always gets busy so I made a reservation for my wife and I...also gave them my pizza order so they could get a head start. We arrived and the place quickly filled up...our pizza was ready about 15 minutes after we sat down and it was PERFECT! Parking is limited, it's a bar atmosphere, but no smoke, limited seating...but we will drive from the south side of Waukesha for dine-in or takeout, if time permits. A must for pizza connoisseurs. Went here with some friends on a Saturday night about 6:00 PM. The place is hard to find and small inside - it's a bar with several booths. The place was packed and we were told our booth would be ready in about 30 minutes so we jammed in with the other customers for a beer at the bar. About an hour later we questioned how much longer and were told the next booth was ours and about 15 minutes later the group at the booth got up to leave and another group that was sitting at the bar (who came in 10 minutes earlier) snagged our booth. When we complained to the bartender we got a shoulder shrug and that was about it. We decided to eat at the bar since that was starting to filter out. We ordered our pizza and it took another 50 minutes for it to arrive. We did ask the bartender to check on the pizza since it was taking so long and she remarked that it was best not to rock the boat with the kitchen staff. (What the heck does that mean?) The food finally arrived. I was so hungry by this point I would have eaten the shingles off the roof with cheese on it. I'm a pizza junkie and this pizza was "so-so" in my opinion. We probably spent the better part of 2.5 hours here and that's way out of line for just getting a pizza. Hard to find, limited parking, long waits, indifferent staff, so-so food. Why come here? This place is way over rated in my opinion. Mortified and disgusted! My family and I were excited to have a wonderful dinner at Doc's this evening. We all enjoy their pizza and were ready to start our holiday weekend. We arrived at 5pm, a few of the tables were taken and we were told it would be about a 30 minuet wait. We noticed some people at the bar finishing up and were please when they offered their seats as they finished up. We sat down at the bar and began to discuss what we wanted to order. The guests ahead of us had enjoyed some appetizers and drinks, so there were some dirty dishes and used napkins left on the bar when we sat down. The floor server followed up with us and said it would be an hour wait since there was another reservation still ahead of us. We said we would be happy to order from the bar. We finished up our drinks and had not been asked if we would like to place an order. When my father in law mentioned that he would like a refill on his soda we were told we would have to wait since there were still several orders a head of us. We watched as a couple sitting across from us who sat down after us were asked if they would like to order. After sitting there for nearly 20 minuets I moved the dirty dishes and used napkins that had been sitting in front of me over towards the bar mat. The bar server came back and aggressively pushed all dishes and used napkins right under my hands. She scolded me and stated No, Not here! I was mortified. Not only had we been completely ignored for some time, I had dirty dishes and used napkins shoved back at me and completely humiliated. My family and I had decided to leave. At that point the bar sever said in a very condescending matter Aw are you leaving me? My mother in law said yes we are, you are very rude. The bar server snorted and replied Thank you.
