Soft medium thickness crust, relatively sweet sauce with a generous amount of cheese. Moved into the neighborhood a few years ago and our first night we figured to order our usual Domino's but found they don't deliver to our house, nor Pizza Hut for that matter too. Found Pizza Guys was right down the road and decided to try them out.. needless to say it's been almost 3 years now and we order from them all the time now! Great pizza and AMAZING customer service! We frequent this pizza restaurant and have never had any issues. We ordered last night and when I went to pick it up 15 minutes after the 30 minutes they said they needed, I was informed they didn't make my order. The staff at Pizza Guy were super apologetic for the miscommunication and began working on our order right away and made the price right for the inconvenience. They even delivered it to my home which is outside their delivery area so we didn't have to wait for everything to cook. I was bummed about the mishap but they handled this situation swiftly and went above and beyond what I expected to make the situation right. Drove past this location umpteen times - finally gave it a go. Employees super friendly, cute looking place. Pizza looked and smelled good. But no no no taste. Sauce tasted out of the can. I write this review on the current state of Pizza guy, as the restaurant has been diminishing in quality for years. I have been a regular at Pizza Guys since I went to Kettle Moraine High School about 15 plus years now. Pizza guy historically has made the best pizza in the Wales, Delafield, Oconomowoc area. Now they are on par with Pizza hut, or Little Caesars. The ownership changed hands many years ago, I believe parents selling to their son Jim. About three years ago the recipe started changing. First, the sauce was "watered" down. By this I mean the flavor seemed to disappear. The spices and flavors are nearly absent which is strangely reminiscent of a Little Caesars pizza which is why I bring them up multiple times. Oh well not the end of the world. Then they changed their crust. My best guess is the amount of dough being used was cut down as the pizza is not quite thin inside the crust which tends to get soggy and the pizza just kind of flops around when you tear the piece away from the pie. I would also venture to guess that the dough is being made further in advance and kept in a fridge as there is an odd taste that comes with it that most fridge kept food gets. I write this feedback not to discourage people to go here. I write this for the owner to get his act together and bring back the original recipe. You may be asking why did I just have it again on 7/27/2022 if it is so subpar. Funny story, My family and I were discussing a Marty's pizza we had the week prior and how amazing it was but were complaining about their cost, being fairly expensive. We then brought up Pizza Guy and how they used to be the best but due to all the decisions and cuts they have been making we have been staying away from them. My Fiancé was curious and she was dead set on trying this pizza because in her words "It can't be as bad as you guys are saying it is." After she had her first slice we asked how she liked it. She said one word. "Bland" I hope the owner sees this and takes it to heart that his clients want something better. If the owner is willing to bring back his original recipe I am willing to come back and welcome him to reach out to me because I do have history with his restaurant being a customer for many years. Until then, if you are in the Wales area I recommend you go to The Sorrento House, Marty's, Sal's, Rosati's, as all of these establishments make a better pizza. Sadly Papa Murphy's take and bake also currently stands as a better pizza in my humble opinion. Sending a loud shout out to the Pizza Guy. In town for a night and was craving pizza. Looked these guys up on Yelp and decided to order. Since I was in their delivery area, it was nice that I didn't have to go out after a long day of driving. Called em up, placed my order and in about 40 minutes got a really good, hot pizza delivered directly to my hotel room along with a bottle of Coca-Cola to drink! Ordered the Margharita pizza Thin crust and cheese filled bread sticks. The crust was not a thin crust but more like a hand tossed, There were 4 pieces of tomato average on each slice, feta cheese was also sparse... thats the bad. The good is the taste. They are not shy on moz. cheese and flavor. Breadstick sauce was also sweet but good. I was wanting more pizza spices in the marinera sauce but it was tasty. Ordered an XL meat lovers pizza for this place and it was delicious. Crust was perfect, meat distribution and cheese were awesome. The pizza had the right amount of greasy. Thank goodness for this place - it's the only one that delivers to our house! They have great classic pizzeria- style pizza and allow you to customize it with 3 different thicknesses. This is a great "go to" place for us when we are in a hurry. The food is very good and they are one of the few places in our area that delivers, and may I say very promptly too. Besides ordering pizza, we will also order calzones, bread sticks (veggie is our favorite), chicken tenders, lasagna, chicken wings and they are one of the few pizza places that have decent salads both side and large chef and Italian varieties for those that wish to watch their carbs. Pizza's can be custom ordered with no problems whatsoever. They also offer a loyalty program which is a free three topping large pizza after 12 orders as an added bonus. On the rare occasion that there was an issue with an order, Jim, the owner, always makes it right and goes the extra mile for his customers. That great customer service is why we've been customers for 17 years. I usually reserve the 5 stars for restaurants but the ease of working with the starr and commitment by the owner in customer service puts Pizza Guy over the top! read more
