I just came back to Milwaukee for a funeral yesterday fourth of July and all I brought was some leftover blueberry muffins, onions, beef jerky, sausage sticks,water beer and chips for the road trip. I have a few can goods at the house but I was craving screaming tuna sushi. but they were busy doing some prep and are undergoing a transformation into weekend at J's pop up omakase menu. Serving dine in only June 13-July 27 Friday and Saturday nights. Thank god for pizza from mad rush. It's been 6 months. Since I had either so I was ready for a sausage pizza. Laron is now using toast pos for ordering at a kiosk it's helpful in streamlining his orders. So it is like having a waitstaff take your order. It frees him to make pizzas as ordered and it also handles the billing transactions. The toast kiosk also allows you to enter your phone number and you can get a drink and they will notify you by text message when your pizza is ready for pick up. Isn't technology great? We are used to Chicago deep-dish pizza, which is very cheesy, but we found Mad Rush Pizza so cheesy that it was inedible. It was too bad, because the location is convenient. We were so excited to try it! But the pizza lacked proportion. There was no sauce, and I couldn't taste or enjoy the crust or the other toppings because of the cheese. We scraped a lot of it off, but even so we ended up throwing some of the pizza away. I hope the owner works toward offering a healthy pizza--there is such a thing. read more

I stopped in for a quick pizza today and loved getting to meet the owner Laron. He is so friendly and kind. I ordered a sausage, mushroom and arugula. It was great! They are 8" and more than enough for one person. He said that they're expanding their menu soon as well. Great easy stop for good pizza! This little place in Mequon Public market is a gem. Seen this place over and over and decided to try it today. The pizza was delicious with as close to wood fire as you can get without an actual fire. However more than the pizza is the man who runs it (assuming the owner). Super friendly and making accommodations just to add that extra touch (for example cutting extra slices for the kids). Will be back! read more

The flavors were ok, but the cheese is not like regular cheese. Tastes like cheap mozzarella with no real cheese texture or flavor. There was also barely any pepperoni. The texture is like a mozzarella and American cheese blend (high moisture content cheese). There is no real cheese pull and no bouncy mouth feel. For a 14" being over $26.00 after tax, there are way better pizza options. The pictures look great, but the cheese alone made it undesirable. read more

I have a personal top five that I've ever tried..But,. LT, obviously has a deep passion for what he has created. And to hear him describe his special thin crust, the deliciously zesty sauce, and the best tasting sausage he could find ? I was sold on giving him a try ,and I called a few family ,friends and associates to check him out. I know pizza. Every single Saturday with my uncle's growing up; we had pizza. Ned's, when on Villard with that amazing cheddar cheese; Godfathers when on Capitol drive; when Pizza Hut still had great sausage and Priatso's; Lou Malnati's in IL; Hup's Pizza on Hampton Ave, Zaffiro's on Farwell, Balistraries on 68th, Balistreries on BluMound, Rocky's when done right, and there's more...Longer story shortened...I know great tasting, and great texture pizza! Absolutely worth it!! Large pepperoni $25, handmade. Probably the best I've had since I went to an upscale place in NYC! The owner is always there with a smile and the wait time is only about ten minutes! I've yet to hear a single complaint. This place is a true gem! Check it out! read more

Oh HELL NO! We heard some good things a bout Mad Rush Pizza so stopped in at about 5:00 on a week night. The entire Mequon Public Market place was completely empty and so was the Mad Rush Pizza stand. The ovens we on and there was loose Italian Sausage sitting out on the counter, apparently thawing out. Not on a plate, a pan or even on paper. This was not on the back counter but on the front, public counter. We waited 12 minutes, calling out occasionally to see if anyone was around. Nothing!. The waiting wasn't our big problem. The unsanitary conditions were. There are other places to get great pizza. For us,,, this was not, and never will be one of them. read more

What a great surprise! This pie was everything that I don't like about Milwaukee style pizza; if you're looking for that dry, cracker crust, look elsewhere. This more closely approximates the classic Chicago thin crust tavern pizzas that those of us that grew up in Chicagoland were raised on. No, we didn't grow up eating deep dish or pan pizza. Not to say those styles are bad, but it's the out-of-towners and tourists that flock to that style. But that's a whole different story. This pie was also not the pretentious neopolitan, brick oven 'za with the burnt, er, "charred" bottom that everyone pretends is tasty. Burnt is burnt. Serve me a piece of toast "charred" like that and it's going straight back to the kitchen. This crust was nicely chewy and...No cracker saltine crumbs! Toppings were fresh and generous, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but there actually might have been a little too much cheese! Also, these are done quickly, like around five minutes. The owner is friendly and courteous. Actually one of the better pies I've had here since moving here over 25 years ago. Try it! read more
