I got takeout from here for my friend who just had knee surgery and myself. I placed the ordered online earlier in the day and scheduled a pickup for 6:15pm the same day. The online ordering portal was very easy to use. I received a text at 6:14pm saying my order was ready, just as I was pulling up. There was still a few minutes wait to get my order, but it wasn't long and it gave me an opportunity to look at all the other pizza that's available by slice (bigger than my head) that were available. I ordered a small pepperoni and a small All the Veg without olives and extra cheeses. I don't usually check my orders before I leave, but I'm really glad I did here. The veg pizza had olives. The person helping me was very sweet and confirmed that my order was supposed to be without olives. They comped the price of that pizza and remade it for me, which honestly didn't take very long. As I waited, temptation got the better of me and I ended up getting a 6-pack of breadsticks with the marinara and the garlic butter. Despite the olive mishap, the experience was very pleasant! The pizza was delicious and the toppings were not sparse. The pizza had a nice crispy crust and the slice was perfectly chewy. The breadsticks were thick with a fluffy interior. I only wish they were more garlicky. The leftovers reheated nicely as well. They also have so many different flavors of pizza and I am definitely going to be back to try some of the others. read more

My favorite pizza please. First tried this in Madison and fell in love. Wish we had some back in Illinois for sure. Luckily on my way back from Madison, stopped by this place in Milwaukee. Service was pretty quick. I ended up ordering the Mac and cheese pizza and the mushroom penne. So delicious!!! I also ordered 3 breadsticks with the vodka marinara. Which the vodka marinara was to die for. I ended up ordering to go. But still the best pizza ever! read more

It doesn't get better than Ian's. This is a staple every time I go to Milwaukee. They are always coming up with new and innovative features such as crab Rangoon pizza. Tried their GF build your own for the first time tonight and my expectations were low because gluten free pizza, generally, is usually just edible...but wow! I almost ate the whole 12" in one sitting. I made my husband that enjoys all the gluten try it and he could not tell that it was GF and if you've ever had GF pizza, you always know. The texture is never quite right. Anyways, it was awesome and can't wait to order again. Their regular crust pizza is always spot on and never disappointing. They have coke products - Cherry coke on fountain & the best ranch. (Green chili ranch is amazing too.) LOVE Ian's so much. read more

(From September 2021) I remember strolling in here on a late Sunday night after bar hopping. Of course pizza is the way to go when you've had several drinks in you. You'll be greeted by the variety of slices in the display when you walk in. They have a variety of slices to choose from such as Mac and cheese pizza, bbq chicken, and baked penne. I went with the buffalo chicken and spinach feta pesto. The taste was alright, but the consistency of the slices weren't there with the middle areas of the pizza not as hot as the others. The slices are pre-made also so who knows how long they've been sitting out. The restaurant is clean so credit for that given how germaphobic we've become these days. The location is in their favor being near a bunch of bars and they're open late (I think). I may try them again when I'm back in MKE. read more

I just want to say a huge thank you to Ian's Pizza for existing in Story Hill! Not only do they have some of the best and most inventive slices in the Milwaukee area, having them right in my neighborhood is nothing short of magical. I've tried many of their slices and have been pleased with all. I love that they have such a wonderful selection of vegan pies! And they're all completely delicious. My recommendations? Their mac & cheese pizza (comfort food in a pizza slice), baked penne pizza, drunken ravioli, vegan veggie the bandit, and vegan veggie cheesesteak. I finally got over try this place and check them out because sometimes I just want a slice of pizza and not a whole pizza. The place was empty on a Sunday afternoon, the super bowl probably had everything to do with that. The place is nice and fresh looking with red walls and exposed brick. This place doesn't make your slice fresh like the place on the south side and all the pizzas are pre made and heated to order. I ordered the sausage slice which was ready in minutes. The menu also has some beer and salads I noticed. The sausage pizza is horrible looking with super thin sausage slices like pepperoni that curl up from cooking. The crust was thin just like the toppings and cheese that has a slight crisp on the bottom. This pizza slice didn't really satisfy me for a cheese and sausage pizza because because the toppings are thin, it's not meaty or cheesy like a good pizza. If I was blind folded and feed this pizza I would have said it's one of the better frozen brands. I would much rather go to one of those two pizza chains that have the unlimited toppings and cook your pizza to order if I'm going to do fast food pizza. read more

A 2.5 from me. This new Ian's is in a great location - right near all the Bluemound Brewers bars and pretty close to Wick field. If you know Ian's you know the deal - strong vegetarian & vegan options, "crazy" slices and late hours. We stopped for lunch and there were probably 8-9 pizza choices. They aren't labeled at all so you'll have to guess or ask. We kept it classic with a sausage slice and a sausage/pep slice for the man. Two good sized slices and 2 fountain drinks - $13. Pretty cheap! IMO you get what you pay for. Even though they just opened, their soda machine ice was broken so our drinks were lukewarm. My slice was just "ok" - I really did like the perfectly crisp crust but there were just 4 skimpy sausage bits on my rather large slice. I think I'd like Ian's a lot more if I were drunk, enjoyed mac and cheese on a pizza or were a vegetarian. (Honestly, they do have great choices for veg/vegans). I'm sure I'll probably eat a drunken slice after a Brewer game someday but I wouldn't rush back. Also, if you leave nearby (Story Hill, the Heights, East Tosa) they do deliver. read more

I stopped yesterday for the Story Hill location's first day in business. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by three employees behind the counter and a counter full of delicious slices to choose from. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I asked if they had more than just the one slice of Drunken Ravioli that I saw, I was told they would make more right away and bring it out as soon as it was ready. It's nice to see that already on day one the employees are trying hard to make customers happy and want to stop again. The slices and breadsticks were up to par with Ian's quality from their other locations. My kids, which normally are super picky about what brands of pizza they eat, both tried Ian's for the first time and asked for more. The Drunken Ravioli had the nice kick I'm used to from the spicy vodka sauce and the breadsticks were a perfect soft and chewy. The one concern I want to note, which isn't Ian's fault, is that street parking can be very difficult to find before, during, and for a little while after Brewers games. We ended up walking a few blocks from where we parked near Wells and 52nd, but Ian's is totally worth it. read more

I've been going to Ian's pizza since you had to go to Madison to eat there. Needless to say, long time fan. The Mac n cheese pizza is a must-have especially if it's your first time going. I forget what they called it but I also got a slice of the Bbq chicken with ranch and stuff on it. SO good. Even the regular pep and sausage slices are delicious. Never had the breadsticks here before so we got a few of those and the bacon queso dip. The bacon flavor was strong so if you're into that it was great! Having only been to the Madison location before, I wasn't sure if I'd like this place. Boy was I wrong!! You walk in to a clean, industrial looking lobby. On display are several giant pizzas with a variety of interesting toppings. We selected a Mac & cheese slice, a cheese slice, a veggie variety slice, and a smoky bbq chicken slice. When you order them, they toss them into an oven for a few minutes to heat them up. We also got a few breadsticks. All of the slices were really good!!! The pizza crust had a little bit of crisp to it, the sauce was tasty, and the toppings plentiful. Even the breadsticks were really good and the marinara cup was a perfect compliment. Also, the employees were friendly and helpful. They explained the process, were helpful in identifying each of the pizzas on display, and both welcomed and thanked us as we came and went. We love Ian's but live near Tosa so it's always been a hike to go downtown or the east side just for pizza. We were so excited for the Story Hill location to open! We received the same great service and same great food. This inside isn't very family friendly - yet. All of the available seating is alone the open windows facing Bluemound. There are no shades so the sun is beaming right on you and it's very uncomfortable. There are three tables but no seats to go with the tables. Definitely recommend if you were to come in the evening or for carry out. read more

I love Ian's and never even knew this location existed! The atmosphere is perfect and the best slices I've had from Ian's were from this location. The staff was the best too! Parking is obviously limited during dinner time based on the location- would recommend going before dinner if you're alone because you'll have to park and walk most likely but everything else 10/10 perfect. read more

This location sucks. I didn't even want to touch my food (let alone eat it) after seeing how they handled it. No gloves, she kept touching her face, i don't know if it was a sneeze or cough, but it was right into her hands and she never washed her hands or used sanitizer. And then I thought well at least the heat from the oven will kill the germs... nope... she manhandled my pizza again after taking it out of the oven and putting it in a box. And it wasn't just this girl, she was just the one helping us. Also it took about 30 minutes to order, there was only one other group in there, and almost no pizzas were ready/available. For years, I loved basically everything about Ian's except their location and parking. I always wondered why they couldn't just open up a location in the suburbs where it's easier to park and easier to deal with. I'm glad they opened this location in Story Hill. So convenient from most areas of the city. If you live in Milwaukee or Madison and you HAVEN'T tried Ian's, you're missing out. Hint - their speciality pizzas are where it's at. I mean - these guys basically perfected the Mac and Cheese slice. My personal favorite is the "Smokey the Bandit." It has BBQ chicken, bacon, ranch, and BBQ sauce and I pretty much constantly crave it. So good! They also offer curbside which was nice during COVID. All the staff and customers inside were wearing masks and physically distancing. Highly recommend Ian's. read more

Great NY style pizza. We moved to Wisconsin from the Philly area 4 years ago and it's very hard to find good pizza out here. This place is a taste of home for us. They sell slices of pizza just like the pizza shops on the east coast, so you can try a couple different kinds of pizza. I wish they'd open a location in the Waukesha area, we had to make a special trip here to finally get some good pizza! We'll be back!! read more

A whole lotta meh. Ian's is the George Webb's of pizza to me. It may be ambrosia of the Gods at bar close, but during daylight hours it is just something to shove in my food hole. Sure, they have mac'n cheese pizza. Sure they have pizzas that look like someone dumped a bowl of chili on them. I prefer just to have actual mac'n cheese or a nice bowl of chili without the pizza crust. I opted for a slice of sausage and pepperoni. It was nothing special. Ian's is not complicated. There's a few salad items on the menu; God only knows why. There is a small beer selection, as if you haven't had enough by the time you get here. read more

I stopped in for a macaroni slice, pepperoni slice and a pineapple ham slice. My nephew says the macaroni is the best but I thought the ham was fantastic. I would get any pizza here with ham on it. An Ian's location closer to me! I no longer need to brave the masses of drunk teens at the North Ave location in order to get a slice! Nothing really different here from other locations. Its a bit smaller but I've only had takeout so far so it doesn't really bother me. I thought that because this is a smaller location that they might do away with vegan options but thankfully they have a full pie of options. Its very difficult for someone who lives in the surrounding area to find vegetarian/vegan friendly food options that aren't super expensive, require sitting down for an entire meal, and/or are open late. I also order hours in advance and it still takes unimaginably long to arrive AND never aligns with the estimated delivery time, for example, it will say it's arriving at 1pm and come over an hour later! Ian's is the only joint in town for legit New York style slices. I'm generally something of a purist but even their novelty slices are usually outstanding--I can't leave without at least once slice of Smokey the Bandit. (The only slice I've ever disliked is the brisket, which has been smoked until it tastes like a forest fire.) I stopped here after a night out at Kelly Bleachers of course it was delicious just like the other two locations. I usually get pizza or the Greek salad. The macaroni pizza with marina is bomb.
