Excellent. Ordered takeout. Got half Mac and cheese, half florentine or pesto, I can't remember. All I remember is that it was tasty. We ordered the 18inch for two people. Just moved my son into town, first night there. We couldn't stop watching playoff basketball, so by the time we did and wanted pizza, it was after 10:00 pm and many pls see we scanned in Yelp were closed. Found Ian's, it was less than 2 miles away, and was open! Cruised down, lots of others there, ordered a whole pie to go (plenty of slices avail, great choices if we wanted that) and had great service and friendly folks behind the counter! Pizza was super-fast, served in a box with a smile, and we were happy when we got back and dug in! Big pizza, plenty for his lunch the next day. They have a few vegan options out for by the slice pizza. I tried two different kinds and they were both great. My mom tried a chicken alfredo pizza and she loved it. (From September 2021) Stumbled in here after bar hopping it on MLK BLVD and found this spot to be packed with people looking for pizza. I found some good slices including the Mac & cheese pizza which is a favorite and a satisfying bite for the drink munchies. It must've been fresh out of the oven since it tasted like an actual pizza and not some room-temp slice sitting out in the box overnight like some premade pizzas can taste. I generally love Ian's, as it's the perfect place to go as you're wrapping up a late night. That being said, I just had a very uncomfortable experience there. There was another customer who was a non-verbal individual who clearly needed some assistance in ordering. I tried to communicate with him to help him, but it was pretty difficult. Instead of being patient and understanding, the woman at the register rudely yelled at him "you're not getting anymore pizza!" When he had zero slices. Everyone was treating this man like he was some random drunk person causing a problem, which he was not. They were treating a lot of customers pretty poorly. I think it's important to note when you have a restaurant on water street open past midnight, you will have some intoxicated customers. That is not an excuse to be rude to people unless they are causing a legitimate problem. And even then you should still be polite and there are plenty of authorities outside should a problem arise. read more

I had ordered here once before and really enjoyed it. The slices are huge so no need for a full pizza for just two people. I got the Mac and cheese pizza and enjoyed it. It's definitely not the best pizza in the world but it's pretty good. They change up the speciality pizza every week. They had a jambalaya pizza at the beginning of March so if you want to try something interesting this is the place. The staff was very nice and we were in and out in 5 minutes. I moved into a nearby apartment building and there was a notice on my counter for a free pizza from Ian's on move-in day only. We were exhausted from an out of state move, sweaty, and super hungry. And who can turn down free pizza? We ordered the Pomodoro pizza and it was delivered in a little more than an hour. It was HUGE. 2 very hungry adults could only get through half. But the freshness of the toppings and the overall flavor were truly delicious. There was sautéed kale, cacciatore tomatoes, feta, and mozzarella, very generously topped. The crust is exactly how I like it-- not thin, but not too thick and perfectly chewy. We were both extremely impressed. No picture because we were ravenous! But the other pictures of that style pizza on Yelp are definitely accurate. It's smart of Ian's to partner with nearby apartments because I'm not even 24 hours into my new MKE home and I already have a favorite pizza spot. read more

This is normally a late night spot for me... after the bars close this is the final stop before taking it in. Today however I stopped by on my lunch break. When I went they had the Mac n Cheese pizza which is my favorite but I didn't see any of the other favorites I'm use to. The other options today weren't so appeasing. This place is known for unusual/ speciality pizza slices. They serve traditional pepperoni and sausage but why would you chose that when you can get a whole quesadilla on your pizza. Try it! We were freezing in the cold trying to bring attention to the loss of worker rights with infamous ACT 10 and someone ordered some pizza for us. Ian's has always been one of my favorite pizza places in Milwaukee and Madison and a great spot for food after going out to the bars. This location is very convenient - pretty close to Fiserv Forum and many other bars. But I have to say, I prefer the location on North Ave. slightly better. The service at this location was very slow. The employees were not as pleasant. I get that it can get busy at times, but that doesn't mean the service should be bad. They forgot my order and gave my slice to someone else. When I went there were none of my favorite slices left. They didn't even have plain cheese.. I got a slice of mac n cheese, veggie, and chicken/ham (total came out to about 14 bucks). Not all of them came out at once, which was inconvenient. I asked how long it would take for a pepperoni slice and they said 20 minutes. 40 minutes later, I'm getting ready to leave, still no pepperoni and there's only a few slices of pizza left out. You would think for a busy location, they should be expected to keep up. They definitely should have had more of a variety of pizza out. The pizza is good. No complaints. Mac n cheese is definitely one of the more popular ones and always hits the spot. I also really like the buffalo chicken one (didn't have that at the time either). They reheat the pizza and it's always been the perfect amount of crispy. The restaurant entrance is cramped (another reason why I prefer the North Ave, location) and there are only high tops for 2 people, but there is seating upstairs where it's a little quieter and more space along with some arcade games. This was my first time visiting this Ian's Pizza location. I liked it a little better than the one on North Avenue. The service was friendly and the food was good. The location is convenient, near plenty of downtown offices (and bars of course). It's a big slice, so $4 is pretty reasonable for the amount of food. I tried the Pierogi pizza, which was pretty tasty. I was tempted to try the Chicago Dog or the Hawaiian, but...pierogi on a pizza! My coworkers chose the BBQ Chicken and Buffalo Mac n Cheese pizzas. Everyone enjoyed their slices. There wasn't a line or much of a wait, which is nice for a lunch option. The location is small but there was plenty of seating available while we were there. Salads (build your own available) and snacks are also sold here, if pizza isn't your thing. read more

A little late on my #ThankYouThursday review...but, better late than never, no? When we first moved to Milwaukee 3+ years ago, we were on the hunt for what would become our go-to pizza spot. After navigating through many pizza places (some good, some really good, and some not so great), we came across Ian's. Yahtzee! Ian's is exactly the big NY style triangles of pizza we love. The crust is maybe slightly thicker (though still thin, of course) than your traditional NY style pie but all good in my estimation. They have some fun and fab signature pies (mac & cheese on a pizza? BBQ chicken? yes and yes). I enjoy their more peculiar pies but my fam is a bit more purist so we typically go for their sausage and pepperoni. You can purchase by the slice or whole pie (during COVID times, we've been opting for the whole pie). They also have pretty stellar side salads. My favorites are their caesar (which comes with a hard boiled egg!) and their Greek salad. Great pizza, salad, service, and prices. What's not to love? Anytime I'm on water street, I try to make my way to Ian's. It's the perfect place for sustenance if you're out for drinks and there's always so many options. There's usually a big line but they're always super efficient and even take the time to reheat each piece they hand out. My biggest complaint is that they charge extra for ranch. My bestie and I ordered pizza from Ian's. We actually ordered through yelp! It was an easy enough experience. They called after I put the order in to double check that we knew it would be a 90 minute wait, except I'm pretty sure it came earlier than that. We ordered from Ian's because they were one of the few places who had gluten-free pizza. Let me tell you, it's expensive to be lazy. It cost us $40 with tip for two 12" pizzas. Holy cow! I also cash tipped because I'm nice and I was tipsy. I'm trying to be more grateful and appreciative in this leg of my life I guess! Anyway, the gluten-free pizza was rock hard. And I mean ROCK hard. All of the other gluten-free crusts I have had, have not been rock hard. So, this was a huge miss for me. Also, while ordering the gluten-free pizza, they forced me to add extra sauce to my pizza before submitting my order, which cost me an extra $1.00. Why?! That was slightly ridiculous for me. Each topping was $1.00 as well, which gets pricey. My friend ordered a cheese pizza because toppings were expensive. She thought her pizza was fine. She said it wasn't the best pizza she's ever had, but certainly not the worst. I mean I ate my entire pizza so obviously I liked it enough despite the rock crust. Will I order from Ian's again? Unfortunately, probably not. If you're GF and love hard crusts, go for it. Non GF people should give it a try. read more
