Got the toasted ravioli at Italian fest where there was a stand set up. The girl who helped was very kind. She seemed happy to be here and happy to be helping. Because it was just a stand there wasn't much to say about the ambiance but I would be curious to go to the actual restaurant to see what it is like. The raviolis were good and I liked that there were toasted but they were nothing spectacular. The breading was nice and added a crunch to the ravioli which you don't usually get. They were not too salty or too oily like typical fried food which is was a present surprise. The sauce served with them was fresh and had a natural taste. We added red pepper flakes to give it a kick which added it. I think they would be better at the restaurant so I am curious to see! read more

We were in town for a bachelorette party and needed some delivery pizza. I was pleasantly surprised to see a locally owned spot that delivered. Pietro's Pizza has been a Bay View staple since the 1970s. The founder was born in Sicily and brought the recipes for the handmade dough and sauce that they currently use from there! I called around 6PM on a Saturday and the pizza was delivered within an hour. The employee on the other end was very kind and knowledgeable. (You can only order via phone, there is no online ordering option on their website.) We stuck with no frills. A large cheese and large pepperoni, along with the garlic bread and Sicilian garlic bread. We had a party of seven ravenous ladies and we could not finish! Definitely has a lot of bang per buck. The crust was thin, it wasn't overly greasy and I did really, really enjoy the marinara. I'd recommend Pietro's Pizza if you're staying in Bay View in Milwaukee! read more

Quickly becoming one of my favorite pizzas in Milwaukee! We ordered delivery cause Monday had a 16" special and we just moved in down the street and now we know Monday nights will be pizza nights! The pepperoni was great, the sausage was incredible, but best of all is the crust and sauce! I love this thicker (but not thick) style of crust and the seasoning on it is incredible. Wicked stomach ache and spent the rest of the evening in an uncompromising position praying to the porcelain Gods and had to find the one spot in the bed that my stomach wouldn't flip or rotate to send me back to the bathroom. Wow!! My husband and I got pizza from here tonight and it will definitely not be our last. Don't let the unassuming interior fool you... the pizza was great! For sure on the greasier side so be sure to have napkins handy but very delicious. We got a large 18-inch super special pizza which came with pepperoni, onions, green pepper, mushrooms, black olives (we got ours without), and delicious homemade sausage. The crust was chewy and everything was very flavorful. The pizza was cut into squares and for two always hungry and healthy eaters.... we both had leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Perfect combo. The wings were buffalo, great taste, and not covered in wet red hot sauce. They baked the buffalo spice into the crispy skin, which made it a fast favorite for us. The round pizza is cut into squares, which reminds me of elementary school pizza party day, more nostalgia. It let me pick when inwanted.cruat and when I didn't - and gave me the illusion that I didn't just eat 3 slices. It's the perfect level of oily (yes, I napkin dab, but it's part of my pizza experience and I love it), the mushrooms were good and the cheese and sauce delicious. We will order again. Right off the bat, giving them a five star review and I expect Pietro's to be my new regular pizza place for delivery and take out. Fate would have it that my wife and I would randomly stop at the oldest bar in Milwaukee, The Historic White House, to watch the Packers game and Pietro's provided the pizza for the bar. We were instant fans and at half time walked over to Pietro's and picked up a to-go menu. During our visit we met the owner's son, who was a real nice guy. A week later, we order one cheese pizza, half pepperoni. During pick up, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Pietro. A nice man, we discussed Italy and where our families are from. The pizza that night was great. Reminded me a lot like the style of pizza I grew up eating in New Jersey. The cheese and sauce are the best I've had on a pizza in Milwaukee yet (and I've tried plenty). There was only one slice left, froze it, just reheated it and ate it tonight. A perfect reheat! TIP: I think they normally cut it in squares, which seems to be the most popular method in Wisconsin, but I would recommend pie cut. I think this style of pizza lends itself to the pie cut. Trust me. You drive by Pietro's and wonder if this place is still in business...from the outside it looks like some type of underground money laundering business and you wonder how this place is still around. However, aside from the questionable exterior they do make a decent pizza and their aracini and calamari they serve at Festa are da bomb! Pizza options are delivery or carryout there is no inside dining because this a no frills type of place. Many years ago we had a horrible delivery experience and never ordered from them again; however, sometimes you have to give a business another chance. The pizza is a medium crust with a yeasty taste and crisp crust dusted with cornmeal. The stars of the pizza are the tangy sauce (just the right amount) and the mozzarella. The mozzarella they use has a slight salty taste and you can taste the freshness. The toppings are nothing extraordinary. The sausage wasn't the most flavorful...just average. They use canned mushrooms which some places swear by because it doesn't weigh down the pizza with extra moisture. I prefer fresh but canned aren't the end of the world. This time the delivery was quick and the pizza arrived piping hot. Hopefully they continue the good service so we can order from them again. read more

It's a thin crust Italian-American New Yorkish style pizza served up in a friendly venerable place that's more fun to eat in than take out. My GF and I really wanted to love Pietro's. The service was good and the price was right. I just can't give 5 stars for canned mushrooms. It just tasted cheap. No issue whatsoever with service or cleanliness but the pizza just wasn't up to community standards. Happy to support a local business, but I don't think we would order again. Just finished the "Monday special". FANTASTICALLY GREAT ! Asked for thin and crispy crust...GOT IT. Asked for delivery in an hour and a half ( 6:30 )...IT CAME AT 6:30. My wife and I have had the pizza, Sicilian Cheese Bread, and fried zucchini. We have never had a complaint and have been back numerous times. Wife and I bought two lasagna dinners. We both considered it the worst lasagna that we ever had. It's down right bogus and disrespectful. One time I looked at the ingredients of a frozen lasagna and it contained beef, pork, chicken, and fish; that frozen lasagna was better than this jalopy play dough lasagna. I wouldn't wish this lasagna on my worst enemy. If somebody killed my wife and was sentenced to death row, as much as I would hate them I still wouldn't give them this lasagna for their last meal. First of all, I'd like to say that I discovered Pietro's as soon as I moved here in September of 2009, and never ordered from another pizzeria until an unfortunate event which occurred in October of 2014. Up until that point, I had ordered from Pietro's, probably, in upwards of twice a month, if not more. The young lady who, typically, answers the phone is always incredibly pleasant, and the chicken wings are out of this world. On October 4, I placed an order for delivery. And when the driver made it to my door, she attempted to run my debit card, via her cell phone credit card swiper -- not once, but five times -- each time, declined. My roommate offered his debit card and that card was, also, declined. (I later received a phone call from my bank because they found that the debtor, and the number of times the card was swiped, to be enough to cease the processing of funds.) The driver contacted Pietro's and I spoke with an extremely rude individual, who never showed his face or mentioned his name. He took no time in making me feel horrible about my card being declined, saying ... "I just can't leave this food there! You gotta pay for it! She's going to bring it back here!" That was fine, I completely understood. However, I provided an apology and rebutted, "Sir, I'm really sorry, but I would never place an order for delivery, have it brought all the way to my home, and lack the money to pay for it. I mean, I order from you all the time!" His response ... "Wait a minute! Are you trying to argue with me? This is not the time I'm usually here, so I have no idea who you are!" I proceeded to my bank's ATM machine, where I was able to retrieve 'more than enough' funds, then drove to Pietro's. I received a genuine apology from the young lady, up front, because we were both unable to resolve the issue. I assured her that it was not her fault, instead thanking her for being polite. At no point did I SEE THE FACE, nor HEAR THE VOICE, of the OUTRAGEOUSLY RUDE individual who spoke to me over the telephone. He, instead, hid from me, in the back, throwing dough in the air, and talking to another female. To him, I'd like to say, "It was my pleasure to be able to resolve the money issue, in a timely manner, although it wasn't 100% my fault. And it was my pleasure to keep an even tone with you, whilst allowing you to stomp all over A CUSTOMER. I didn't pick up my order because I was hungry, but because I don't like food going to waste. Annnd ... I will not be ordering from Pietro's, ever again; nor will anyone else who trusts my better judgment. I moved here from Washington, DC, to get away from rude people, such as yourself. Apparently, you rude folks are EVERYWHERE, like roaches!" P.S. Whomever referred to the dining/waiting are of Pietro's as "worse than a janitor's closet" is ON POINT! Fix that shit! I want to love Pietro's, I really do. I live right across the street. It is so convenient. The owners are fabulous. They are old school with accents and everything. From what I gather through conversations the woman's father is the original owner. You can have food delivered or pick it up. There is no waiter service, which I asked the owner about because I'm nosy and the building is much bigger than just the pick up section. She said her father always wanted to have one so one day they may. The pizza is good. Downfall, it is inconsistent. Sometimes the crust isn't cooked all the way or is thinner than usual. Other times there are a ton of toppings (mostly cheese). Biggest downfall the mushrooms are like rubber, this isn't the first local place serving pizza where we have had this experience. Sadly mushrooms make our pizza. They do make some killer meatballs. The menu has a variety and they often have a deal on lasagna and other pastas if you buy two. Each pasta comes with salad and garlic bread too. The price is right really. Two full meals for $14 seems like a steal. I'll keep going back, its local, family-owned and a go to place when I don't feel like going out or cooking. read more

This is not the worst pizza under the sun but it not pizza I'd put in my top five. I ordered two 16" pizzas one was veggie and the other was sausage and pepperoni. Being vegetarian I did not eat the meat pizza but those who did described it as "eh" The veggie pizza had pretty good hand tossed crust but the downfall was in the toppings and seasoning on top. Nothing tasted fresh and the mushrooms had a fake taste almost like plastic. If I were to refer from here again I'd get only cheese as my topping and I'd do this only if there were no other options read more

I really think this pizza is awesome. It reminds me of old-school pizza that reminds me off jolly roger's and lenny's in door county, which unfortunately are no longer existing establishments. This is a dense pizza, in which you can taste all of the singular flavors of the cheeses, meats, and sauces very well. It reminds me of pizza you would imagine the old ninja turtles would approve. It's delicious and nostalgic. I do, however, have two complaints against this place in that they look like they aren't even open and that they don't treat their workers well. Last time I ordered from this place i paid with a card, not knowing that I couldn't add a tip to it upon receipt, and I wasn't made aware of. There also is no delivery fee, so the drivers I imagine have a hard time getting by with this lack of money especially because I can't imagine that they get very much business since it looks closed! I felt so bad, but just so you know, if you do order from here, the people are very kind you deal with- nice, decent people, just inquire about tipping and they should make it work. Also, not as a complaint but just to prepare people who want to order from here, which I obviously recommend, be prepared to wait a full forty five minutes for your food at least. This isn't a franchise and when you get it, it will be piping hot and fresh, I'm thinking it just takes a bit to make it. read more
