Went there for pizza on Friday night and we couldn't finish it so we took it home. It was so good. I had it for breakfast Saturday morning.

This place is great! Best pizza we've had and sandwiches are good too! The view is great from the bar all year round and even better in summer. The service is top notch and everyone is friendly. I tried this pizza for the first time this evening. It was some of the best pizza I have ever had. I will be returning.

I have been coming to this pizza place for the last 15 years. The pizza is an excellent thin crust pizza with a very good sauce and plenty of cheese. I tried the meat combo tonight and really enjoyed it. At first, I thought it had way to many toppings. After a few bites, I decided it was good and actually really enjoyed it. Few additional comments: 1) Place is small. If you go during prime hours be ready to wait. 2) Service is a little slow. Took us about 2 hours from ordering the pizza to paying the bill. Got a little frustrated at the end when it took us 20 min to get a bill and pay it. Great pizza, but overall experience was just ok. I recommend the food but be ready for slow service. read more

I had previously posted a 4 star review for Docs Dry Dock, I feel that I need to change that after another visit! We went last night and had a truly fantastic meal. We had a delicious appetizer sampler with chicken nuggets that were cooked to perfection, wonton wrapped cheese sticks that were crispy and delicious, and fries. We then ordered a large Super Special pizza, and our entire group agreed, it was the best pizza any of us have had in years. I can't remember having better at all. The staff was friendly and welcoming, our server was outstanding. It was such a breath of fresh air to have such great food and service during these difficult times Overall, a wonderful experience. When I think of Milwaukee Pizza, I think of thin crust, spicy Italian sausage, fresh mozzarella and tangy sauce. To me, this is like Mystic Pizza! This place was awesome. We ordered the supreme (cheese, sausage, mushroom and onion) and the super supreme (add peppers, olives and pepperoni). And, of course, when in Milwaukee, fried cheese curds are a must. Sooo delicious. I'm okay with the canned mushrooms. That's what we grew up on. This place gets crowded fast, and we arrived with a group of eight right as the place opened up. We were able to grab a table, but you may want to call ahead to reserve a table. When in Milwaukee, I'll make sure to stop by this place. read more

Ok I'm rewriting my review since my previous one was removed most likely due to a few choice words that may have been deemed inappropriate. However I feel it's important to get honest reviews out there so I will be more specific and verbally appropriate in this one. I have been eating at this establishment about once every couple of months for about 30 years. It's really changed over the years. My last visit was my LAST visit. A bartender in particular is always rude. Sometimes it's subtle and other times it's in your face. It's been a running joke that you just have to put up with poor service if you want to have their pizza, which is fabulous by the way, but this last visit was the last straw. It was early and we managed to find seating at the bar. None of the dirty dishes had been removed from the previous party yet but we assumed someone would surely get to clearing it up as promptly as they could. We were wrong! The bartender noticed us and took our drink order. After receiving our drinks she found it necessary to announce to us that she had other orders ahead of us so we would be waiting awhile for any further service. Alrighty then. After about 20 minutes, no exaggeration, one of our party decided to move the dirty dishes into a stack and closer to the edge of the bar to make a somewhat cleaner area in front of us. Immediately the bartender started aggressively shoving the dirty stuff, even taking it apart, back into her space and scolding her. It was one of the rudest things I've ever encountered from a server! I mean it would have taken her less time to remove the mess like she should have in the first place, then to make a bossy scene. I shouldn't have been so shocked though because we were warned ahead of time that the service would be awful lol. It was really an indication of how the rest of the dinner was going to go so we decided to leave and ended up enjoying a fantastic pizza at billy Ho's with stellar service! I came to realize that the pizza at Doc's may be good but it's definitely not good enough to have to endure such poor service and rudeness. Normally I would have chalked it up to the server having a bad or stressful night except it's always like this at some level here. We will never be back and neither will our friends. UPDATE: very disheartening to find the owner of this establishment thinks this is funny. read more

Best pizza around!! Doc's is a local favorite great place for carry-out pizza or dine in. This is by far one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. The restaurant also has a few seasonal favorites which makes trying different pizzas somewhat interesting. I would recommend the Ruben pizza around St. Patrick's Day for a different change of pace. The restaurant area somewhat small but homey and comfortable. You can always get a great story at the bar along with a cold beer. Sure, Doc's uses canned mushrooms and black olives...and the service can be painfully slow...but the pizza is consistently good, their crust is always thin and crunchy, and this place just screams "Wisconsin" in terms of the ambiance (and staff). If you expect quick, attentive service--go elsewhere. If you want a slow-paced meal with pizza and cocktails, give Doc's a whirl. read more

I travel. I eat pizza. It's what I do. I've tasted pie's across America, all styles. Crazy toppings. Traditional neopolitan margheritas. I would consider myself a pizza snob. Tonight, I tried Docs thin crust pizza and it was everything I hoped it would be. I chatted with locals, I engaged in laughs at the bar - overlooking the lake, I talked sports, and I got made fun of by the semi-retired waitress. It was great. But the pizza itself rates very high on my thin crust scale. Very close to #1 and that's over some of my favorite Chicago, St. Louis and New York thin crust fav's. In Pewaukee, WI nonetheless. The short: Some of the best thin crust pizza I've had anywhere - and definitely the most generously topped. The long: My friend and I decided to check this place out late last Tuesday night and almost bailed when informed that they were unusually busy and the wait for pizza was an hour. Since we weren't in a rush, we opted to stick it out and grabbed the only open table. We quickly put in an order (fried/battered mushrooms, a pair of East Side dark lagers, and a 16" super supreme pizza) and drifted into conversation while taking in the vibe of the place. I instantly fell for the simple dark wood architecture and the likelihood that our server may have also been an owner. You definitely get the feeling that this place hasn't changed much in the last couple decades, whether or not that's true, which I appreciate. The beers came out quickly and the mushrooms followed shortly thereafter. The mushrooms were crisp and hot and came with a side of ranch, which is basically saying they're exactly what you'd want and expect. My dining partner wasn't sold on the place until the pizza arrived, at which point our eyes widened and the conversation failed - we'd definitely underestimated how much food this was. Two pseudo-athletes that'd just spent 3+ hours climbing rock walls struggled to finish half of a 16" pie, but we loved every crispy, top-heavy bite of it. Well played, Doc's. read more

Not even sure why I gave it two stars. Maybe it was because Carol was nice and the wonton mozzarella was decent. Pizza crust (was burnt) isn't good, sauce tastes canned and my wife's chicken sandwich was dry. In all honesty, won't be back even if boating on Pewaukee. 10/1 update - very respectable, Josh reached out and offered for another chance to make it right and the pride they take in their product. Love Doc's for many years. It's a cool small out of the way pizza place. Specialty is thin crust which I love. Tons of toppings crispy crust. Try the loaded super special. Service is not exactly speedy as kitchen is small and they sell tons of pizza. Fine with me as I like a couple of beers when waiting. Bar is friendly nice place to wait. They have like 5 tables so if you want one get there early or be prepared to wait, have a beer. If you like thin crust pizza and an unusual atmosphere try to find Doc's, say hi to somebody at the bar. read more

4 stars only because service can be less than desirable, but the pizza is worth it. In efforts of full disclosure I do know the owner and went to school with him, but we are far from BFF's, were not enemies either for that matter. That said, this does not sway my review. As many a review states, do NOT be In a hurry at Doc's and try to remember to call ahead (admittedly I always forget and have to wait). You will be waiting for a pizza because the to go orders are a plenty and the seating is incredibly limited. But, if your not in a hurry sit down enjoy a cocktail and some entertaining local banter at the bar or maybe at a table. About the pizza! It is a delicious cracker style crust, as I call it. It is thin and crispy with some char (not burnt) and never light on the toppings. My personal favorite is the "Super Special" (cheese, sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper, pepperoni and black olives) how the crust can support the toppings piled on to easily 3/4" high (after backing) defies the law of physics! If you are looking for a delicious thin crust pizza, and Pewaukee is within your travel limits, you found the place. read more

Decent place for great thin crust for Milwaukee area standards. Their pepperoni seems to be spicier than most pizza joints. The Super Special is completely overloaded with toppings so much that you might make a complete disaster of your table. My spot at our booth looked like a kindergardener on speed pills spent the last year straight dining there. Definitely a must to call ahead for reservations or put your name on the list. The place is tiny and is way too popular with the local area. read more
