While I was waiting to pick up my pizza, which was a large The Works, I had a nice conversation with the owner, Wally, learning a little about the history of the place and it's claim to fame as the first thin crust pizza place in Milwaukee. When the pizza came, Wally opened up the paper-wrapped pizza. I took the big pie home and very much enjoyed my pizza. It was wrapped in paper (not a cardboard box), which is unique nowadays, and it was fine for me, but you may want to keep that in mind if you are ordering multiple pizzas and may need to stack them on top of one another. (Maybe the store already has a solution for that?) I liked the thin and crispy crust and the dark char, which mimics wood-fired but isn't wood-fired. I also liked that the slices were squares of varying sizes. The squares offer more options and is great for a crowd. It was good pizza, good classic pizza, and I will be back again for carryout.

If you're ordering a whole pizza, you can build your own or select from a large list of specialty pizzas. My go to for a quick slice is the Pizza Margherita which is usually available. If I'm ordering a whole pie to share, I like to go with the Tony Manero which is pepperoni, garlic, parm, oregano, and mozzarella. Simple but delicious. They have good pizza all around. Do not forget to get an extra garlic knot or three, they're very tasty.

The only slices they carry have pork on them. What a waste of time. I don't eat pork, and I know I'm not the only one. I've never heard of a pizza place having no option for just cheese. I get that the restaurant can choose to run their business however they want, but there should be a disclaimer that they don't carry cheese before people waste their time coming in.
