I had never been to this place and was super happy that a friend recommended it for dinner. I parked in the purple garage which is directly across from it and easy to access. I love that all the parking is free. We ended up at a little booth in the back which was great for being tucked away as well as spot for good people watching. We arrived around 7 (with a reservation) and stayed until about 10 just catching up over drinks etc. the crowd did change to a bit younger group as the night moved on. All of the food that went by our table looked fantastic. My meal was also amazing. I ordered the Chimichurri center cut filet which was perfectly cooked- medium rare. The fries were crispy and the salad was a nice light side to go with the meal. We did have to wait quite a bit (like 20 minutes) for our second glass of wine. We finally grabbed someone walking by and they told us they were super backed up at the bar as a large group of like 20 people just showed up and were all ordering drinks. I guess that happens but it seemed like an excessive amount of time to wait without even anyone stopping by to let us know. We had a FABULOUS time here. it was our first time here and didn't know what to expect but Tim welcomed me and my date with such a warm welcome and made us feel like family. He explained just about everything on the menu to us because we were undecided. Told us all about the specials and gave us recommendations (which were divine). I came here with my coworkers one afternoon for lunch. For the table, we started off with the house made Guacamole and grilled Artichokes. The Guacamole came with sweet potato chips and I ordered the number six chicken sandwich with kale slaw for the main entree. The chicken sandwich had the right amount of cajun seasoning. The burger and sandwiches here come with french fries or slaw. I feel I definitely did good by ordering the kale slaw instead of the fries because the kale slaw was out of this world. I literally went to this place based off of the number of stars is it had on Yelp and it did not disappoint. I was pleased with the staff, The environment and most of all the food! I had the roasted wings and it was so much seasoning and flavors that my mouth was bursting lol !! I'm not sure I've ever tasted roasted wings in this manner. I also had their signature cocktail.... Two words: chicken wings!!!!! As a chicken wing aficionado, I love trying new places that have some unique wings. We were recommended to hit up Doc B's and I'm really happy we were - as I was hesitant to go initially because it looks upscale and fancy from the outside. Although the ambiance is very ascetically pleasing, it's not pretentious or overly fancy at all. From the outside it appears to be a steakhouse of sorts that would be accompanied by white table clothes and a strict dress code on the inside. But that is not the case. The inside is a cool vibe with big TVs perfect for grabbing a beer and watching the game. The manager was awesome and checked in on us a few times and making some good convo. Thanks Brandon, your delightful service was appreciated! The chicken wings are out of this world. They have chimichurri on them and cooked to perfection with sprinkled parm on top. SO GOOD. They don't have ranch so that was a turn off until the manager Brandon brought us several sauces to try! The jalapeño aioli was perfect, we even got one to go. Seriously can't wait to come back and eat them again. Just look how sexual they look in that pic. Mmmmmmm. The cutest thing happened while we were there too, they put an engagement ring on a plate and served it to a table and someone proposed. Doc B's never disappoints- for the first time in a long time - did not sit at the bar (I did miss the bacon though) service was superb- majority of our group had beer and wine - all good - a few of us had vodka martinis with variations- The bartenders did a great job and made a decently strong drink. Appetizers on the menu really were not all that conducive to a group gathering, but the salsa Was very fresh and packed just the right amount of heat, The flatbreads were average fare, but the hidden jewel was the wings. I am not normally a wings fan but these really hit it out of the park. I will order them again, as a member of our party said they are always one of his favorites and he almost always orders at least one set. Fantastic food - we had candied bacon, chips and guac, shrimp salad and the 1lb meatball. Bacon was, quite literally, like candy - and it tasted amazing. A lovely crunch and the sweet and savory mixed well. The chips were sweet potato chips, which was unexpected, but they tasted like they were baked instead of fried and went surprisingly well with the guacamole. Both entrees were delicious. The salad could have used slightly more spices on the grilled shrimp to add to the flavor, but pairing it with the meatball was fantastic. Make sure to ask for extra bread if you get the pasta to soak up all of the sauce, it's amazing! Service was great - waiter was checking in every few minutes to make sure we were doing well. Everything on the menu is fresh and delicious (they even carry gluten-free buns which is a plus) and don't miss out on the Mac 'n Cheese...it's incredible!!! Can't recommend this place's food enough, while the menu is not huge it covers almost any craving you may have from pasta, fish, steak, burgers, turkey, wings, you name it. Everything we tried was full of flavor that stands out beyond the presentation, particularly the steak sandwich, couldn't get enough. My only negative comment is that there were a lot of mosquitos flying around, granted it comes with the season, but they should really try putting something to scare them away or keep them from coming inside. read more

I wanted to try this place for a while now. I marked it as "interesting" in my list of places I wanted to visit. The atmosphere is very nice I do have to say that even though I came on my own I feel I've been given my space instead of being rushed out the door. I wanted to try the happy hour menu and drinks so I settled for the shrimp tacos, soup of the day (tomato) and the Brussel sprouts salad, along with a Chardonnay from the happy hour menu. The tacos were tasty, not spicy but full of flavor. The Tomato soup with goat cheese was creamy and very smooth, I didn't go wrong with this choice! The Brussel sprouts salad was good, not my favorite. However, it had a rich parmesan basil dressing, tasted like a more delicate Cesar salad. The chardonnay was actually pretty good! Nutty taste at the end, combined well with the food choices. I only wish they had more gluten free options. Although my waitress was very accommodating. I'm curious about the brunch menu. Perhaps I'll come back with my husband who has less dietary restrinctions and he'll be able to try more and interesting things in the menu. A surprising fun place nestled in the Domain in north Austin. I suspect that a lot of folks from out of town, business travel end up staying at one of the hotels in or near the Domain. I fell in love with candied bacon. There I said it. It had the perfect kick to it. I tried the udon noodles which were great. The server even brought extra sauce without prompting. My friend had the Cobb salad which looked amazing. Considering she wanted to go mainly for that I'd say it must be good. I had to do a little shopping and returning up in The Domain again today. We decided to go back to Doc's again. Like always, they are consistent and the food is great. Kiddo friendly and we were seated immediately and within a minute our server Tom greeted us. He was great with Jay Jay, hospitable, quick on our requested and overall just a great server. We came to Austin for the weekend for a short rendezvous. We were ready to have dinner and I looked here on Yelp to the closest restaurants. I see the reviews on this restaurant were 5 stars with a few 4 stars. I looked at the menu and photos and decided to give it a try. This place is at The Domain so parking is not as friendly unless you pay for valet. We were lucky to come on a Thursday before 6pm so it wasn't too bad. Inside they have a pretty big outside area, a sport bar section and the retro/cool area- where we sat down. Our waiter Elias was amazing. Attentive, funny, on point and knew his menu which I appreciate when going to a new restaurant. We went at the perfect timing- happy hour. We had the mini pepperoni pizza (2), the wings, the Brussels sprouts salad and the fries and it was around $50. The wings were my favorite plate. They are grilled with a cilantro/garlic chimichurry sauce to die for! Every single plate was espectacular!! I think if we were from here this would be our regular place. Well here it goes ...first I it was pretty busy so I decided to put my name on a list so I sat at the bar and we waited tor at least 12 mins no problem right. I was seated outside with my friend and we ordered the drinks was amazing a little too much sugar around the rim on a lemon drop martini but second time around was totally perfect. This is a really cool stop to hang around and have fun servers were absolutely attentive very impressed and will return. People here are so totally friendly and ordered a steak and salad which I loved BY this point I felt this a great place to party down. Had an amazing bday dinner experience from start to finish! Staff was super friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked into the door. As soon as we got seated, there was a bottle of wine at our table ...and at first I thought our host was trying to tell us the bottle came from a winery in Cali called "The Millers" and it finally dawned on me a few seconds later that a good friend of mine from Cali (her last name is Miller) had arranged with the restaurant to buy a bottle of wine for my birthday lol! That was such a great surprise and I'm so glad the staff were able to accommodate it. Food is amazing! Must try their Chimichurri wings! Our medium-well steak was cooked perfectly and the salmon was prob one of the best I've ever had. My sister and I went on a Friday night. It was busy but not packed, which I appreciated. We ordered the Rustic Salsa for the appetizer. There was zero heat. It was actually sweet. I didn't like it. I used to frequent Doc B.'s in Gold Coast, Chicago, so I was super excited upon discovering that they have a location in Austin. Man, Austin has definitely come a long way!! Doc B.'s stays packed because the food is delicious, they have just enough of a variety that it is not too overwhelming and they have great food options. I am a huge fan of their wok out bowls, the fried chicken sandwich, turkey burger with sweet potato fries and the brussel sprout salad with salmon. Recently, I tried the chimichurri wings and OMG....bomb! Beware, it has tons of garlic and while I love garlic, garlic does not love me, but for these wings, it's worth the night-long burps. read more

I ordered the burger, but before I did I asked if the burger was fried or charbroiled on a grill - a distinct issue for me as I prefer charbroiled - and the waitress was clueless. Gave me the wrong answer. The burger arrived shortly and prepared just as I ordered it, so kudos to the kitchen. There was nothing really special or memorable about the burger, other than it was fine. For the prices on the menu, I expected something a little more memorable and distinct. The fries were hit and crispy. Service was adequate, waitress was 'perfunctory' although efficient, however another waiter actually brought my food and attended to me better so there is obviously a team waiter environment, meaning tip pool, and that generally means better service. Ambience was fine, the restaurant was clean and enjoyable, however a bit noisy. But when it's almost full all the time that is to be expected. Overall, a solid three star performance, which means it won't be high on my repeat list. read more

The ambiance carry you out of the busy roads of Mopac,to a modern establishment with a vintage feel, as you gaze at Prince, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix and other painted musicians on the wall. The Cherry Old Fashioned cocktails are on tap, and the servers can get your food and drinks out in a flash. The kale salad was probably my favorite part. The dressing was perfectly sweet and savory. First restaurant I've been to in Austin! Great location in the domain. Beautiful, clean restaurant that allows dogs on the patio. Nice, open seating and pretty warm for dinner time. Service was friendly; they brought a dog bowl out for my dog and we're ok with him sitting on his own chair. I appreciate taking my dog to restaurants where there aren't rules like dog must sit on floor so it's one less thing to worry about while trying to enjoy a lovely dinner out. Food was good. The sizzling Mac n cheese was amazing. It was fresh and real comfort food but didn't taste overly oily. We ordered the bowls and they were good, filling and seemed like a healthy option.
