Wow, if you're in the area, this is a must try. The location is very strange. It's in a stand alone area with very little parking, but it's worth checking out. read more

Think of an alternative before visiting this DK's location. I am a BIG TIME donut fan. I make it a point to visit donut shops when traveling. Regardless if it's due to the COVID pandemic or just bad practices, 10 of the 12 donuts I purchased yesterday morning at 7am were dry, crumbly, and outright stale. I should have snacked on one in the car, but I brought them home so it was too late to return them (which I would have if only out of principle). $17 for a dozen expired donuts, SHAME ON YOU DK's. Next time I will outright ask WHEN WERE THESE DONUTS MADE... The Orange and Lake Forest location have never disappointed, they have scrumptious, soft, doughy treats that are bragworthy. I will never return to this location. I won't hold my breath for the business owner's reply. You've been warned yelpers. read more

Gosh, the quality here is just so good! I literally walked in here with a giant smile, because the smell was divine. I hadn't been here in ages, and the service was so nice and fast. There were a lot of families with young kids here that Saturday morning, but I can handle all that noise because I have kids too. I scarfed down 2 chocolate glazed bars and a large cafe mocha a little too fast...but definitely worth it! The donuts were soft and buttery! They have sandwiches on bagels and croissants too, for other breakfast options. This place just has everything I look for in a donut shop- including a drive-thru. read more

I've seen several DK's through out Orange County and I always wanted to know what they're about. Since this location is closest to me its good reason to check it out. Coming in the first time, I don't remember which holiday it was but they were closing early in the afternoon. By that time there wasn't a full selection to choose from however, I was able to pick out some good choices for a half dozen. In our box we went for some ordinaries like, Double Chocolate Glaze, Chocolate Bar, Chocolate Glazed Coconut, Blue and White Sprinkles, Iced Glazed Crumb Donut. We up the ante on a few slightly premium ones with the Chocolate Bacon Donut and Apple Fritters. Everything we plucked out was really good, the donuts were soft with a fried crisp sugary base and of course they're sweet, so we weren't disappointed. I'm not a fan of donut shops that make donuts with cereal toppings. The Fruity Pebbles Donut was dry and stale, I'm speaking for the cereal toppings and it seems to be the case whenever we choose these. This particular DK doesn't just carry ordinary varieties, there's a specialty flavor in the Ube Donut that can be found here but we lucked on it, which will have an opportunity next time. Cronuts and breakfast sandwiches are sold here as well. Their donuts are priced a little higher than others, but that can be overlooked with sweet treats that taste good and friendly service. We spoke to the owner and staff member there and they were nice enough to give us a free donut due to the holiday. It's a typical mom and pop donut shop with a convenient drive-thru. DK's initials can mean your Donut King. read more

FRESH doughnuts and LOTS of choices at 8:00 am. Got there right before the rush so we were able to score parking. Sign says "Drive-thru is open at 3:00 am". What?!? Glazed Cronut was fresh but seemed heavy...I think because of the amount of glaze on it. It was still good and luckily I shared with hubby. We will have to come back and try the cinnamon sugar, strawberry, maple bacon, etc. I better walk here to justify eating that many. LOL! My Purple yam (ube) doughnut with coconut on top was DELICIOUS!!! Good blend of flavor with the coconut shreds. Hubby's simple glazed doughnut was warm and freshly made. It melted in your mouth. Now that's a doughnut!!! Little O had the traditional glazed with purple icing and sprinkles. What, no doughnuts with Fruity Pebbles or Froot Loops for you Little O? read more

I'm always across the street at 85 degrees, but was having a different sweet tooth craving today. It was the chocolate eclair crave lol Seeing there is one left I was happy that I'm the only one there. I was taken back a little for something so simple to cost $2 but then I ate it and thought ugh, yeah I guess I'll pay two dollars for it. What the hell right I mean it was good :D read more

Delicious, fresh donuts. The blueberry was off the hook. Soft, warm, not too sweet, real blueberries. The Strawberry Cronut was the star. Crispy, chocolaty, strawberry goodness. Open @ 3am. This strawberry donut rivals Donut Man. My significant other says B.S. it's waaayyy better! read more

This is a dangerous donut shop. If the wafting donut smell isn't enough to lure you in, maybe the hundreds of fresh baked donuts in the window sill will. I popped in early one morning (5:30AM) to grab some donuts for my co-workers. I intended to only buy about a dozen and ended up leaving with 2 dozen. Too many various kinds of donuts to name -- just know that they are freshly baked and each one was fluffy and light. Surely, they beat Krispy Kreme's signature doughy glazed donuts. That's where the dangerous comes in: although filling, each donut's delightfully fluffy self makes anyone want to EAT a whole dozen by themselves. It is also nice to support a small mom-and-pop place. They offer custom made donuts and donuts for occasions and from the pictures I've seen they do a good job on presentation alone. Definitely keeping this in mind the next time I'm buying treats for a birthday or other occasion. Really loved the sweet treats here and will stop by again (hopefully with more self control). Definitely opt for a baker's dozen because the pricing special for it is better than buying an odd number. Parking is scarce so you may have to park out of your way but just think of it as a pre-exercise before you eat a bunch of these donuts. Haha! read more

$2.50 for a small chocolate donut. It wasn't bad it wasn't great it was just whatever. Overpriced.

Excellent donut shop. We placed an order for our event. However, our event venue required that we package each donut individually. So I called the place and they told me they are able to package the donuts for me if I provided the supplies as long as the order wasn't too large. So we roll up to the donut shop to place our order, drop off the supplies, and pick up some donuts for a taste test. Upon pickup day, the donuts are beautifully packaged with no steam or condensation in the bags. DK was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and was accommodating to our order. The donuts tasted good, and the service was excellent. Parking sucks though; there are few spaces. And the area for the drive through is small, and cars can line up to the street, so beware during rush hour. read more

Nice workers. Quiet and warm place. I tried Muffin Cake. It is wheat and without oil. I encourage you to try

The staff was very friendly even on a busy late Saturday morning. The #19 was delicious! ... so we're the donuts.

Arianna was the highlight of my morning as usual. Coffee was on point and my client loved her apple fritter! Cronuts were bomb too! She always remembers my ridiculous amount of creamer. Always has a smile on her face to greet customers and a cheerful attitude depsite how busy it is or if the weather is dreary. I wanted to elaborate on my previous review. I want people to read and recognize it coste zero dollars to be a good person... I pulled up to get donuts and just recieved news that a close family friend had another devastating stroke and was barely starting to process it and was balling. Arianna *genuinely* asked me if I was ok and asked how she can help. A complete stranger that doesnt have to give a hoot. I cant remember exactly what she said, but she told me if I ever needed to talk to come back to her. Another time, we just left church and I found out a client of mine had passed that morning. (Im a hospice caregiver). Again I'm sobbing because even though its my profession, I get incredibly attatched to my clients and love them like my own family. She again showed the same compassion and concern. I then decided to write my first review because I was so thankful to have run into her two times when I felt so alone and needed someone to see me and hear me and tell me things will be ok. I like to believe that im a nice person. I try to help as many people as I can. Honestly though, the world can be a giant void of negativity, and more often than not my heart hurts from all the selfishness and hate in the world. Arianna is proof that good people still exist. Thank you again Arianna for being such an amazing kind hearted person. Also please thank your parent(s] for me for doing a fantastic job raising such a compassionate individual. Im a single mom of 4 beautiful children and I really hope they grow up to be as kind as you! read more

Great selection and speedy service. Always something creative and new. Great place to go on a weekend morning with the kids.

Amazing donuts. My measure of a good donut shop is their glazed, if they can't get that right I'm not even going to bother with any others. DK has the best glazed donut. It's melt in your mouth incredible. Their tiger tail is another favorite. And they have unique and fun varieties that change all the time too. Great place. read more

Can't sleep? How about a donut before the crack of dawn? Yes please! We ordered a chocolate covered cinnamon roll, blueberry glazed and a strawberry cronut (wasn't made yet but they said they could special make it for us if we had 5 minutes - and we did!) Not too sweet, crispy outside and soft inside - perfection. Highly recommend trying this place if you're craving good donuts. Parking is teeny tiny but we didn't have any problem given the time of day. As others have mentioned you could park across the street and walk over. Sort of glad I don't live near here because I'd never lose weight otherwise. read more

I ordered lettered donuts here and it was super easy to order! $3.50 per letter, and I ordered it a day ahead. I set the pick up time for 12 noon, and when I came at 12:05 the worker said I was late :) They are SUPER delicate so be careful when you handle the donuts as I broke one of the letters when I was transferring from the box. This is a great alternative to celebration cakes. You can pick the color of the icing and the color of the sprinkles, and I also saw you can use icing drizzle too. The possibilities are endless! If they don't have the color you want, you can also bring in the sprinkles of your choice. Will definitely utilize this for my future celebrations! read more

I don't know if this a chain or not and really don't care. The service is quick in the morning and $9 for a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich I can't complain. I guess a Starbucks is opening soon and I hope it fails miserably because I love coming here and getting a sandwich and sitting with my lil one as they knock out a donut. Parking is kinda tough at times but worth the walk. read more

The donuts here are amazing!! I've tried a couple different kinds of them already My favorites are the donut holes! They're definitely a classic and easy go-to donut! But THE BEST DONUTS ARE THE BLUEBERRY CAKE DONUTS! They're moist and tasty with the perfect amount of sweet! Another good one is the fruity pebble donut. They're all very good quality donuts and so cute! If you ever need to bring something to a party, event, meeting, or show your love to a special someone then this is the way to bring a smile to their faces :) Although it's far from where I live, I'd drive all the way there just to get some fresh, yummy donuts!! read more

Me and my daughter love coming to this donut spot! Donuts are always fresh and have the cutest designs

This place does not mess around! I love the authenticity of this donut shop and they truly have mastered the perfect glazed donut. The donuts are fluffy and just melts in your mouth. I've had a lot of bad cronuts and I actually did not expect their cronuts to be any good but to my surprise, it was executed very well. There are defined layers and the outside is crisp and the inside is flaky and buttery. I had the cinnamon cronut and it tasted like a morning bun and it was my favorite item. Their glazed donuts do run out throughout the day and I was lucky enough to snag the last two. It's probably their most popular item here, and I can see why. The prices are affordable as well, we got 4 donuts + a cronut, all for ~$7. Can't beat the price, quality and taste. read more

Homer Simpson would have a field day here if he knew what DK's donuts offered! DK's offers all the standard donuts you'd expect at every other donut joint, and then some. Resisting the urge to go all out, friend and I settled for a blueberry donut and shared a cronut at our latest visit. This place has a drive-thru window, in addition to the usual get-in/get-out or take your time to eat your stash at the tables towards the back of the shop. Eats: -Blueberry donut - options are either regular or glazed. I chose the regular, unglazed blueberry donut as my ridiculous rationale was that I would save calories for the cronut (sigh, I know). Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with a hint of blueberry. SO GOOD. I'm sure the glaze would make it much more tastier too. -Chocolate cronut (background: "cronut" - croissant-donut fusion originating from NYC, which has made its way to the west coast in various forms) - cronut with chocolate glaze on top. We asked if there was custard in it, and the man behind the counter said "No". BUT! He said he could make one right then and there - took the chocolate cronut and added custard for us. That was really nice! Plus on customer service. The cronut was delish although I wish the custard was spread inside the cronut rather than concentrated in the center of it. Paid about $6 for 3 blueberry donuts and a cronut. Loved their customer service and blueberry donuts. If you want a deliciously guilt-ridden donut, try the cronut! read more

My parents used to own a bakery and I used to eat donuts every day of my childhood for 4 years. Needless to say, I was traumatized and was not able to eat donuts for over 20 years. Walking into DK's brought happy memories and reminded me of my parents bakery. I wanted to pick up 13 dozen donuts for some hard working people so I called at 3:30am hoping they: #1. have fresh donuts, #2. have it ready within the hour #3. open at 4:15am #4. take credit cards. #5. Make Blueberry donuts even though they don't typically make them until 5:30am. Called several locations and they couldn't accommodate. Spoke with Antonio and I had the green light to go. Even though it was out of my way it was worth it! Fresh! Hot! Big! Delicious! Customized order! YAY for DK in Tustin to save the day. read more

Great little donut shop that I randomly found while driving on Irvine Blvd and Newport Ave. It's located on a tiny island next to another little shack. It has a drive through for the lazy bum in us. The donuts are fresh and moist, and this place had plenty of options for you to choose from. When I came I was surprised at the amount of people in this tiny place, especially since its in such a random location, obviously they're doing something right! Pretty good donuts. However, I only tried the ube and apple fritter. Usually I use my benchmark maple bar as a comparator but was just not in the mood so this will have to suffice. Ube (filipino fruit): only had an ube donut once before from friendly donuts in Orange and this was very tasty. Seemed fresh and had a nice glaze over it. I picked up some cinnamon flavor that I feel enhanced the taste. Apple fritter: pretty standard, small apple chunks, plenty of cinnamon, and a thick glaze. Also, appeared to be fresh and not sitting out for very long. Since it was New Year's Day, only half of their display case was filled. However, they were putting out more freshly made donuts while we were there. Overall, I would come back to try some other options. read more

I worked with May and Tammy on creating a custom order of donuts for a friend. It was a little hard to communicate since the owner was out of the store that day and he is who makes the shapes. We were eventually able to all get on the same page and the donuts came out PERFECT! I asked for "HBD JACQ" with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles and I got exactly what I wanted! The donuts were also a good size, not too small, so I really felt it was worth the amount I paid. They were also on time with my 7-7:30am pick up with the donuts packed up and ready to go! Although you should call at least one day in advance for the custom order donuts, I think you should probably call 48-72 hours in advance just in case the owner is out of the shop like the situation I was in. In addition to the my customer order donuts, I saw some yummy cronuts that I also ended up buying. They were so good! read more
