Regardless if it's due to the COVID pandemic or just bad practices, 10 of the 12 donuts I purchased yesterday morning at 7am were dry, crumbly, and outright stale. I should have snacked on one in the car, but I brought them home so it was too late to return them (which I would have if only out of principle). $17 for a dozen expired donuts, SHAME ON YOU DK's. Next time I will outright ask WHEN WERE THESE DONUTS MADE... The Orange and Lake Forest location have never disappointed, they have scrumptious, soft, doughy treats that are bragworthy. I will never return to this location. I won't hold my breath for the business owner's reply. You've been warned yelpers. read more

Gosh, the quality here is just so good! I literally walked in here with a giant smile, because the smell was divine. I hadn't been here in ages, and the service was so nice and fast. There were a lot of families with young kids here that Saturday morning, but I can handle all that noise because I have kids too. I scarfed down 2 chocolate glazed bars and a large cafe mocha a little too fast...but definitely worth it! The donuts were soft and buttery! I've seen several DK's through out Orange County and I always wanted to know what they're about. Since this location is closest to me its good reason to check it out. Coming in the first time, I don't remember which holiday it was but they were closing early in the afternoon. By that time there wasn't a full selection to choose from however, I was able to pick out some good choices for a half dozen. In our box we went for some ordinaries like, Double Chocolate Glaze, Chocolate Bar, Chocolate Glazed Coconut, Blue and White Sprinkles, Iced Glazed Crumb Donut. We up the ante on a few slightly premium ones with the Chocolate Bacon Donut and Apple Fritters. Everything we plucked out was really good, the donuts were soft with a fried crisp sugary base and of course they're sweet, so we weren't disappointed. I'm not a fan of donut shops that make donuts with cereal toppings. The Fruity Pebbles Donut was dry and stale, I'm speaking for the cereal toppings and it seems to be the case whenever we choose these. This particular DK doesn't just carry ordinary varieties, there's a specialty flavor in the Ube Donut that can be found here but we lucked on it, which will have an opportunity next time. Cronuts and breakfast sandwiches are sold here as well. Their donuts are priced a little higher than others, but that can be overlooked with sweet treats that taste good and friendly service. We spoke to the owner and staff member there and they were nice enough to give us a free donut due to the holiday. It's a typical mom and pop donut shop with a convenient drive-thru. FRESH doughnuts and LOTS of choices at 8:00 am. Got there right before the rush so we were able to score parking. Sign says "Drive-thru is open at 3:00 am". What?!? Glazed Cronut was fresh but seemed heavy...I think because of the amount of glaze on it. It was still good and luckily I shared with hubby. We will have to come back and try the cinnamon sugar, strawberry, maple bacon, etc. I better walk here to justify eating that many. LOL! This is a dangerous donut shop. If the wafting donut smell isn't enough to lure you in, maybe the hundreds of fresh baked donuts in the window sill will. I popped in early one morning (5:30AM) to grab some donuts for my co-workers. I intended to only buy about a dozen and ended up leaving with 2 dozen. Too many various kinds of donuts to name -- just know that they are freshly baked and each one was fluffy and light. Surely, they beat Krispy Kreme's signature doughy glazed donuts. That's where the dangerous comes in: although filling, each donut's delightfully fluffy self makes anyone want to EAT a whole dozen by themselves. It is also nice to support a small mom-and-pop place. They offer custom made donuts and donuts for occasions and from the pictures I've seen they do a good job on presentation alone. Definitely keeping this in mind the next time I'm buying treats for a birthday or other occasion. Really loved the sweet treats here and will stop by again (hopefully with more self control). Definitely opt for a baker's dozen because the pricing special for it is better than buying an odd number. Excellent donut shop. We placed an order for our event. However, our event venue required that we package each donut individually. So I called the place and they told me they are able to package the donuts for me if I provided the supplies as long as the order wasn't too large. So we roll up to the donut shop to place our order, drop off the supplies, and pick up some donuts for a taste test. Upon pickup day, the donuts are beautifully packaged with no steam or condensation in the bags. DK was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and was accommodating to our order. The donuts tasted good, and the service was excellent. Parking sucks though; there are few spaces. And the area for the drive through is small, and cars can line up to the street, so beware during rush hour. read more

Arianna *genuinely* asked me if I was ok and asked how she can help. A complete stranger that doesnt have to give a hoot. I cant remember exactly what she said, but she told me if I ever needed to talk to come back to her. Another time, we just left church and I found out a client of mine had passed that morning. (Im a hospice caregiver). Again I'm sobbing because even though its my profession, I get incredibly attatched to my clients and love them like my own family. She again showed the same compassion and concern. I then decided to write my first review because I was so thankful to have run into her two times when I felt so alone and needed someone to see me and hear me and tell me things will be ok. I like to believe that im a nice person. I try to help as many people as I can. I ordered lettered donuts here and it was super easy to order! $3.50 per letter, and I ordered it a day ahead. I set the pick up time for 12 noon, and when I came at 12:05 the worker said I was late :) They are SUPER delicate so be careful when you handle the donuts as I broke one of the letters when I was transferring from the box. This is a great alternative to celebration cakes. You can pick the color of the icing and the color of the sprinkles, and I also saw you can use icing drizzle too. The possibilities are endless! This place does not mess around! I love the authenticity of this donut shop and they truly have mastered the perfect glazed donut. The donuts are fluffy and just melts in your mouth. I've had a lot of bad cronuts and I actually did not expect their cronuts to be any good but to my surprise, it was executed very well. There are defined layers and the outside is crisp and the inside is flaky and buttery. I had the cinnamon cronut and it tasted like a morning bun and it was my favorite item. Ube (filipino fruit): only had an ube donut once before from friendly donuts in Orange and this was very tasty. Seemed fresh and had a nice glaze over it. I picked up some cinnamon flavor that I feel enhanced the taste. Apple fritter: pretty standard, small apple chunks, plenty of cinnamon, and a thick glaze. Also, appeared to be fresh and not sitting out for very long. Since it was New Year's Day, only half of their display case was filled. Eats: -Blueberry donut - options are either regular or glazed. I chose the regular, unglazed blueberry donut as my ridiculous rationale was that I would save calories for the cronut (sigh, I know). Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with a hint of blueberry. SO GOOD. I'm sure the glaze would make it much more tastier too. -Chocolate cronut (background: "cronut" - croissant-donut fusion originating from NYC, which has made its way to the west coast in various forms) - cronut with chocolate glaze on top. We asked if there was custard in it, and the man behind the counter said "No". BUT! He said he could make one right then and there - took the chocolate cronut and added custard for us. That was really nice! Plus on customer service. The cronut was delish although I wish the custard was spread inside the cronut rather than concentrated in the center of it. Great little donut shop that I randomly found while driving on Irvine Blvd and Newport Ave. It's located on a tiny island next to another little shack. It has a drive through for the lazy bum in us. I worked with May and Tammy on creating a custom order of donuts for a friend. It was a little hard to communicate since the owner was out of the store that day and he is who makes the shapes. We were eventually able to all get on the same page and the donuts came out PERFECT! I asked for "HBD JACQ" with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles and I got exactly what I wanted! The donuts were also a good size, not too small, so I really felt it was worth the amount I paid. They were also on time with my 7-7:30am pick up with the donuts packed up and ready to go! Although you should call at least one day in advance for the custom order donuts, I think you should probably call 48-72 hours in advance just in case the owner is out of the shop like the situation I was in.
