The ambiance was nice here and our server was very attentative! I gave three stars because the food was just okay. We both had to add salt and pepper to our food. Also my friend asked for her vodka pasta to be extra spicy and it was not spicy at all.

This is THE dinner place to eat at. Divine. started with tableside bread service. Our server always kept our waters full and was attentive. Money Business is one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. It comes with a hint of banana and the garnish was the perfect addition on top. The three of us split the chopped salad, and oh my goodness, elite salad. For dinner, I got the Rigatoni alla vodka which you could definitely split. The crunch from the breadcrumbs on top was perfect. Plenty of sauce. Can't wait to come again. And thanks for the match book

Chicken CRISPY BUFFALO BITES

Went for happy hour and sat outside. Outside seating is simple sidewalk dining. The inside was so cute, modern and simple! We shared guacamole and chicken bites from the happy hour menu. Good deal! The house bread was great, Alice texture and onion flavor. The guacamole's was okay, it was more mashed avocado with corn and cotija cheese. The crispy buffalo bites were like thin strips not bites/chunks. The chicken was good and flavor of buffalo and ranch sauce was also good! Service was fast and attentive!

CHOPPED, STEAK FRITES, BRUSSELS SPROUTS

LOVED this place. The ambiance is fabulous - modern, light, and airy but with an elevated but approachable neighborhood feel at the same time. We sat at the bar for happy hour and ordered dinner as well. The bartender wasn't super nice but I think he warmed up to us. The happy hour is great!! $10 hh wine and several great food items. We split the steak frites, chopped salad, and brussels sprouts. The steak was my favorite for sure! Also got the monkey business, a banana espresso martini and it was so good! There is so much on the menu I want to try so will definitely be back!

Recommendations: Chopped Salad Today's Oysters First of all, the restaurant is very clean and well designed. We were seated toward the back, and we loved the overall atmosphere and vibe. This feels like a great spot for either a date night or a casual gathering with friends. DJ's Great Room started us off with complimentary bread, which was soft and tasty. For appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Calamari, Oysters, and Crispy Mozzarella. * Spicy Calamari: The portion was on the smaller side, as it was blended with fried tomatoes. Considering the price, the serving felt limited. * Oysters: Served in increments of six, we ordered half a dozen. They were very fresh and flavorful, and with three different sauces to pair, we enjoyed each bite. * Crispy Mozzarella: Four pieces paired with tomato sauce. A simple and standard dish. For the mains, we shared the Chopped Salad and I had the Baby Back Ribs. * Chopped Salad: A mix of greens, peppercorn salami, soppressata, ditalini, mozzarella, and more. The flavors were well balanced, and the freshness of the salad stood out. The contrast between the salami and greens was just right. * Baby Back Ribs: This dish does not come with a side, but our server Johnny kindly reminded us. I would recommend ordering a small side with it. The ribs were very well executed--cooked at the right temperature to keep them moist, with a layer of barbecue sauce that enhanced the flavor perfectly. We ended with the Cookie Skillet, which came out piping hot and was paired with cold ice cream. The hot and cold contrast made this dessert both fun and satisfying. Overall, we enjoyed our night at DJ's Great Room. The chopped salad was the standout dish. The appetizers, especially the Spicy Calamari, could use some improvement. We are excited to come back soon to try different dishes and hope to see an improvement on the calamari.

DJ's Great Room was an amazing place. The vibes were so good. The bartender was so sweet and friendly, we got all our food and drinks so quickly. The food was great, we didn't eat much, just small bites from the Happy Hour Menu, but their portion size was amazing. The cocktails were so delicious, I would definitely love to come again.

Chopped salad and rigatoni a la vodka with espresso martini and mango margarita
Clara K.

We came in around 5pm on a Saturday and were able to get bar seats because the restaurant was surprisingly empty! The bartenders were great, and I enjoyed my mango margarita. I didn't love the cup it came in though- I bought the same ones off amazon so I feel like they could have used nicer glasswear. The ambiance was nice though but interestingly the garage wall made it seem much more casual of a restaurant. We ordered the Rigatoni a la vodka- not the best in the city but certainly well done. The sauce was tasty but not very spicy. The chopped salad was refreshing and tasty as well. The Brussels weren't crispy but still very flavorful. The truffle fries were pretty standard. All were nice big portions to share. It's a great crowd-pleasing spot so I'm sure I'll be back some time soon to try other dishes and drinks!

Brussel Sprouts

We went to DJ's right before going to a concert for the evening. After hearing from people who have been there and reading reviews, we had very high hopes and expectations. And we were not disappointed. We had reservations (fortunately) so were seated right away. We had a wonderful seat by the window with a view of the Gold Coast. The server brough us water and fresh, hot bread as we reviewed the menu. We decided to order an appetizer before we ordered, and got Brussel Sprouts, which were actually on the menu as a side dish. I admit, I'm not much for Brussel Sprouts (not my favorite), but these were delicious. I also had their House Old Fashioned, which was very nice. My partner had a chopped salad, and I had the Greek Chicken. She loved the salad, and the Greek Chicken, and I'm not joking, was probably the best I'd ever had. I also had truffle fries on the side, which were outrageous. I have some food allergies we let them know about in the beginning. They did make a small mistake but rectified it and they made it right. This was a wonderful meal, one we'll remember for a long time. I definitely plan to return for another special occasion.

RIGATONI ALLA VODKA
Jordyn M.

Had a lovely girls night dinner here! The ambiance was nice and our waitress was great. The bread to start is nothing special. I really enjoyed the rigatoni alla vodka, although this one is not as spicy as others I've had. But still delicious! The banana bread espresso martini was good but I wish it came in a martini glass. I would try other cocktails if I ever get back here! Overall a great spot and would love to try more on the menu here.

DJ's is a great neighborhood spot. The atmosphere is comfortable but modern and when it's warm out they can open up the wall of windows. The apple cider spritz was delicious and all of the food was perfect. Our server was so friendly and the price wasn't too bad for a dinner on a Friday night!

Because no way did we eat at the same place. WOW! It's only been a handful of times that I've had the urge to write a review while I'm still eating because of how amazing the experience is. The ambiance is bustling and will FOR SURE keep you awake as you fill your belly. And the burger? It's not just a burger, it's culinary art and a full on flavor experience. I was full well before my plate was empty, but I simply could not imagine reheating any part of it later. The egg was cooked to sunny-side perfection, and every bite was ridiculous. It's bar-style, so the fries came out first, hot and paired with a garlic aioli that absolutely did what it needed to do. Everyone moves with purpose. The food, the service, the atmosphere--this place is a well-oiled machine of greatness. 1000/10. Will absolutely be back.

So the burgers are worth the hype! 5/5 A single is two smash patties, definitely get the bacon and the egg on top of the burger because that what makes it amazing!! So don't skip on it! The bacon is truly the highlight, as most will tell you, not too chewy but a melt in your mouth thick cut bacon! Burger was cooked perfectly to order and The only thing that was a disappointment was the fries. Just not that great, not enough salt, but also the texture was off. Not worth the $8 2/5 Overall, it was a great experiment and I'd totally recommend you trying!

Five stars for Bar Siena on Randolph, but the real shoutout goes to Alyssa!…read more She was managing an entire room, including the bar, and the place was absolutely packed. Despite how busy it was, she couldn't have been kinder, more attentive, or more generous with her hospitality. She made our entire experience so enjoyable and somehow even found time to surprise us with some EPIC tiramisu! It's people like Alyssa who turn a great afternoon out into a memorable one. The presentation was on point, but unfortunately, the drink itself didn't quite live up to expectations. It wasn't served cold enough, and the sweetness was overpowering, with the syrup taking center stage and very little noticeable vodka flavor. While the aesthetics were there, the temperature and balance of the drink missed the mark. A little refinement in the mix and a properly chilled pour would go a long way toward making this a standout cocktail. The service could also use some improvement, as the staff could have been a bit more attentive. On the plus side, the space has a nice vibe, and the music strikes a good balance without being overly loud. Overall, the atmosphere makes for a pleasant setting, but there's room for improvement when it comes to the cocktail quality and service.

The bar service was excellent - a cold beer and finally, a shot of Malort were in order. The bartenders were very welcoming and clearly making sure all of the patrons were having a good time. The restrooms were oddly decorated - the women's restroom is plastered all over with images of Justin Timberlake, while Britney Spears adorns the walls of the men's room. Luckily, her pics aren't current - they are from her hot era. What a cool spot if you are a local or a tourist - I'll be sure to pop in on my next visit to Chicago, for sure.

Kari's Rating 4/10…read more When you think of west loop you think of good food-it's not definitely not here. Nashville hot chicken didn't really taste like chicken and the pickles were dipped in a weird vinegar. The tenders also came with four breakfast pancakes...like what? The menu said the Nashville tenders came with scallion pancakes which is a savory Asian pancake...but these were 4 American breakfast pancakes. Bandit also didn't have any butter or syrup...so what the actual heck was supposed to happen to these pancakes-it was just a waste. I remember having this incredible kung pao cauliflower bites here and they said they changed the menu but still had cauliflower. I forgot to ask for them the kung pao style like the appetizer and I ordered them in buffalo sauce-two choice. The cauliflower was so droopy and squishy when I got it. The buffalo sauce only made it worse as none of it was crispy and the whole meal was drenched in buffalo sauce. It was a communication issue on my end for sure, but I also thought it was going to be much crispier and not soggy. The ranch definitely was mixed with water and it dropped off anything I put in it. Our server was a really nice lady and none of this was her fault as she tried to substitute the cauliflower. She was decently attentive and very busy as she started serving a large party of 10 next to us outside on the patio. Unfortunately I wouldn't come back here if someone paid me. I know this is more of a sports bar but for something that was around $75-theres definitely better tasting food literally everywhere else. The only good thing about this meal were the waffle fries which were probably frozen before serving but I'm trying to find the silver lining.
