Finally made it Trivoli Tavern to catch up with a friend. Luckily we snagged a reservation for an early Friday dinner because it was fairly packed. Everything we ate was great and would could out with impeccable timing. The butter with the rolls was not as truffle-y than what I read about. The spicy tuna roll was in point and the drinks strong but hitting the spot. We tried the pork chop and while great we would opt for something more savory next time. The vodka rigatoni was great but again I have other items on the menu to try. We closed out with sticky date cake which was a bit sweet. I took a few bites and ended up sharing the rest. The service was amazing and the restaurant itself gave off old school meets modern vibes.

Resverations are a must. We only came for the sticky date cake, which is absolutely delicious. Plenty to share with at least 3 people. One of the best desserts in the city.

Had such a great night out with my daughter at Trivoli Tavern. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We started with the artichoke gratin and the salmon Caesar salad, and both were absolutely unreal. The flavors and quality were next level. My ribeye was cooked perfectly -- an incredible char on the outside, medium rare inside exactly as ordered, and seasoned unbelievably well. The mushroom casserole may have honestly been the best mushrooms I've ever had. My daughter's vodka rigatoni was top notch and packed with flavor. We finished with the sticky cake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. On top of all that, our server Jenna was a total pro -- attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. One of the best dinners we've had in a long time. Can't wait to come back.

If there is one thing you order, please let it be the sticky date cake. Words cannot describe how good this dessert was. Life changing is an understatement. I hadn't been to trivoli in almost 3 years but it was still just as good as I remembered!

Upscale ambience, rustic charm meets vibrant neighborhood of West loop, this place is perfect location for celebrations. Service is polished, attentive and welcoming. Fresh bread so soft that it makes the best pair with half off wine bottles during happy hour. Elevated comfort dishes that balance flavor and execution. This place is a must visit.

Weekday dinner reservation booked via resy 3 weeks ahead. Cook interior vibe and the restaurant was packed. Service was excellent and thorough. Ordered various appetizers, salad, pasta, prime rib and the burger. Burger was probably the best by far, pasta was okay, the rigatoni was maybe a little firm and needed a little more time. Prime rib was probably my least favorite. The smoked salmon Caesar was salty. Date cake was great, very sweet and shareable. Butter finger pie was good as well but date cake is the best Overall excellent service and ambiance. Had high expectations for the food and it fell short. Overall for how busy this place is the food was just okay

We stumbled upon Trivoli Tavern quite by accident. Walking the streets, Thank goodness we made a right when we did. This is a sheer delight! Everything from the music to the leather booth to the chandelier and the wallpaper it's like a gorgeous hunting lodge located in Tuscany somewhere. We loved the meatballs and marinara sauce. Great wine list. And the music... the music is just everything here. It's romantic it's nostalgic, a little dark and sexy. Great for a date night or a family gathering, birthday. I would come back here again and again. It is the perfect spot to be in the midst of a modern city.

I've been trying for awhile to get a reservation here and finally snagged one for a Tuesday night - it was definitely bumpin' when we arrived! Note: it's a cute cobblestone alley to walk to the entrance, so maybe skip the heels! There were some tables outside, but we were seated at a 4-top inside so we got to enjoy the cool decor and vibe. I just wished the music was lower - I had to lean across the table to be able to even *just barely* hear my friend. Their menu is an interesting mishmash of options, so there's something for everyone. To start, I got the Bella Punch cocktail, which was nice and refreshing - a good balance of flavors. My friend got the French martini and it was on the sweeter side but she still liked it. For food, we split a bunch of different dishes, starting with the artichoke dip and garlic bread (7/10). The spicy sausage orechiette was the highlight for me (9/10) and the salmon was fine but nothing to write home about. The service was pretty good in terms of keeping our water glasses full, but they comically kept coming to take plates away right before our last few bites. Our waiter was kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert for a milestone and we also got the date cake everyone raves about - this was absolutely phenomenal, the hype is real! Overall, I personally enjoy a restaurant that has more unique twists to the menu but if you want a fun West Loop spot that does some classics well then give Trivoli Tavern a try.

The sticky date cake is amazing. Must try. Only went there for desert. Sat outside on a beautiful summer evening

Atmosphere 100%. Food display 100%. Drinks 100%. Service 100%. BUT food is SO SALTY . We prolly drank more drinks and water than eating the food cuz all we could think of is salty ! The steak was charred on the outside so even the inside was tender the outer shell made it bitter while chewing . Mushrooms and potatoes are the saltiest side dishes. Would want to come back again but PLEASE improve the saltiness.

I went once and had the Spicy O pasta. I heard great things about the sticky date cake, so I went back once more for dessert and it did not disappoint. The service and staff are excellent. I came in short notice on both nights and was able to be seated in the bar area. I want to go back for so many reasons, but the quality of the experience is what makes me want to return.

This has been on my radar for so long was able to get a dinner reservation on a Monday. Love the atmosphere I was just in London and you felt like you were there and not in Chicago got there early and they were able to seat us it was still happy hour and nice they offered it at the tables too and not just the bar. I wanted to try the pigs in blanket and crab Rangoon both on the happy hour menu . Both great. I feel service was not as attentive as some of there other restaurants. We asked for another glass of wine before our entree and did not get it till almost done with our entree so that was bothering We were cel a purchase of our new house and they gave us completely sparkling and a sundae for desert very sweet

After years of hearing the hype, my family and I finally planned far enough ahead to get a reservation at Trivoli. We sat inside and the ambience was great - dark lighting and intimate seating in booths or small tables, pretty lamps and fun lighting fixtures throughout the space. Our waitress Ruby was attentive and so kind - she gave great recommendations and explained the philosophy of the restaurant's focus on simple ingredients and high quality flavors very well!! We had crab rangoon and the pigs in a blanket for starters - both super tasty and a good portion to split amongst multiple people. I got the streak frites and a limoncello spritz - the steak was a perfect medium and large portion with the frites and the limoncello was the best mix of sweet and tart! Others got the branzino, shrimp scampi, prime rib sandwich and the vodka rigatoni; all loved their meals and found them super flavorful! We finished out with the sticky date cake and they gave us the key lime slice to try as well. The sticky date cake lived us to its reputation and was such a perfect sweet dessert and the key lime was also a great tart end to the meal!!

I have a reservation at 1:45pm. Will they be serving their dinner menu at that time since brunch ends then?

The brunch menu is served for reservations that start at 1:45pm.

Are reservations recommended for a Sunday?

That's not be a bad idea. We were asked if we had one. A place can't be busy. You can make one online through Resy.

Anyone know if this where RM Champagne used to be? One address shows as 114 and the other as 116. I'm wondering if it's the same building.

It is not the same location, but it is down the same alley as RM was.

    Is it casual dress?

I would say yes, although it looks fancy I was wearing a top and jeans with flats & so were others. I wouldn't however show up in sweat pants :)

    Do they offer valet parking?

No. We had to valet at Sienna Tavern and walk over.

I had the single cheeseburger and it lived up to the hype. I learned that the single burger is actually a double and the double is actually a triple. I was recommended to add an egg and bacon to the burger and I'm glad I did. Each bite was a glorious burst of flavor. The bacon is epic. Thick juicy slices. The cheeseburger was perfect. I didn't need additional condiments and that never happens for me. The fries were good too and came with a delicious aioli. For beverages, I loved my Arnold Palmer. I also tried a cocktail--the Long Island Iced Coffee. It was pretty strong. I added a shot of bourbon cream to it and that sweetened it up and made it perfect for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert. Cute restaurant. Cozy inside. They have an outdoor patio as well. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait. Excellent food. Excellent service. Jennifer took great care of me and made great suggestions. It's pricy but it's worth it.

The process of getting seated through a busy period, and the service throughout was excellent. But as often happens with me, the food didn't live up to the hype. My wife and I were picking up my brother and his son from O'Hare at around 10 am on a Saturday. We had dinner plans with our uncle, but had not planned anything in between. The flight came in on time, and once confirmed we all had the time, my brother suggested going to Chicago to try Au Cheval. He knew about their location LV, but none of us had tried their original location in Chicago. So we drove into Chicago, arriving at the restaurant at 11 (it opens at 10am). There was a check-in stand set-up outside, where someone was taking names/phone numbers to put on the waiting list. We were quoted a 45 minute wait, and got the text to hurry back after about 30 minutes. There was a line to put your name down on the list, so we skipped that by going right in. The friendly hostess seated us in a booth, with a nice view of the kitchen where they were making the burgers in mass. The waitress explained that a single burger meant two patties (each patty is 4 oz, so basically a half pound burger), and a double meaning three. My brother and his son both ordered a double cheeseburger ($19.99 each), and I got a single with added sunny side up egg ($21.48). I wanted my wife to be able to take a bite, so asked for everything to be on the side (sauce, dill pickle slices, and grilled onion bits). We also ordered french fries ($8.99), cooked in duck fat. In the meanwhile, followed a fellow yelpers suggestion and got two Allagash Whites ($9 each) for me and my nephew. It's a really good beer that I've had many times during happy hour, and goes great with rich, greasy food. My wife got something else: the General Janes Chicken, which is their version of Korean Fried Chicken ($24.98). She enjoyed it (the coating was still crispy, and the sauce had that pronounced kochujang flavor that we like). Everything is a la carte here (except for the complementary pickle spear with burgers), so she shared in the ordered fries. Food came out together and was served hot. There is a mandatory 3.25% surcharge, and payment is taken at the table. As mentioned, service was excellent throughout. To be honest, I'm not the right person to judge a burger like this (I like it backyard style, with a lot of lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles...and mayo/ketchup). But my brother and nephew are (they have tried many, many burgers all across the world, and don't like too much toppings on their burger), and they said the burger was just OK for them. I liked the frites (cooked in duck fat)...very light in color, but still crispy on the outside. However, nobody else really ate them, saying they weren't great. It's unusual for me to be the least critical after dining, but I'm sure it had something to do with the observation that I didn't have to pay for it (since it was my brother's treat).

Once we got seated, our server took our order relatively quickly and we ordered the House made for Kasha with a goat cheese and honey topping, the grilled octopus appetizer, and because we were enjoying our conversation so much we ended up just skipping Wright to dessert and ordering the gooey butter cake. For a light meal, this was relatively satisfactory. Our server said they come to the octopus because we waited so long, so it was nice that the staff was acknowledging that we waited a little bit for our table and we're willing to compensate us. As someone who lives in the river north area, I have actually been here, probably a dozen times, and it's always a good little spot but a little bit pricey for what you're getting. I would still probably come back with some friends, but I wouldn't go on my way to come here if I was bringing people off from out of town.

The food is absolutely amazing. We had the following dishes: 1. Roasted Pig Face Straw fries topped with roasted pork face, a sunny egg, and a collection of magical sauces that somehow transform into pure comfort when mixed together. I don't even know exactly what's in the sauce, but I don't need to know. This dish is divine and an absolute must-order. The crispy fries, rich and tender pork that practically melts apart, silky egg yolk, and savory sauce create a dish that is indulgent, comforting, and ridiculously delicious 2. Green Beans Not featured in the photo because we ate them too fast. Enough said. Get them. 3. Goat Mousse The menu changes periodically, so this was a new dish for us. The goat mousse was creamy, rich, and surprisingly light, served with sweet jam, crumpets, crackers, pickles, and giardiniera. The contrast of sweet, tangy, creamy, crunchy, and savory flavors creates a little flavor party in your mouth. Every bite can be customized differently, which made this dish especially fun to share. 4. Pork Belly & Watermelon Perfectly cooked pork belly with a crisp exterior and rich, savory flavor, balanced beautifully by refreshing watermelon cubes and fresh greens. I don't know how healthy it is, but we aren't here for health. We're here for flavor. We're here for comfort. We're here to be punched in the soul with food that we will never forget! The sweet, juicy watermelon cuts through the richness of the pork belly and creates a combination that sounds unusual but works incredibly well. 5. Halibut with Thai Sprouts A beautifully cooked piece of halibut served with Thai sprouts, miso marcona butter, and blueberry fish sauce. Yes, blueberry fish sauce. And yes, it works. The fish was flaky, buttery, and perfectly cooked. The savory umami from the miso butter paired with the subtle sweetness and acidity from the fish sauce created a combination that was balanced, and memorable yet surprising to me. The restaurant itself has a dark, energetic atmosphere and is always packed. The tables are definitely close together, but given how popular the restaurant is, I understand why they maximize the space. Absolutely recommend coming here. Your tummies won't regret it.

The chick peas plate as well was just one of the weirdest things I had ever eaten . Sev and chick peas is better in those snacks than on a plate as an overpriced gimmick of a dish but totally my fault for not doing more digging prior to ordering . The chicken plate had large amounts of fatty crust that I had to spit out mid bite but again it was ok in flavor and the accompanying sauce wasn't too bad but again nothing I'd ever want again . My favorite plate was the halibut . Good flavor ,good sauce and not trying to do too much . The fee can be removed by requesting but why even put a patron in that position in the first place ?

I came here over the weekend with my family to celebrate my graduation, and the server named Cat was AMAZING! She made me feel so special at my graduation brunch through her hospitality, witty remarks, easy-going humor, and attentiveness to her clients. If I were her manager, I would give Cat a raise because of how much she elevated the experience and excels at what she does. Additionally, the food was fantastic! The pull-apart bread was so delicious and something I would 100% come back for, as well as the short rib hash, which was flavorful and tender. The ambiance was perfect for a sunny day with a mild temperature, making it the perfect brunch spot. Once again, I cannot emphasize enough how much Cat made our time at Oakville so special. Thank you, Cat, for being so wonderful at your job and going above and beyond to make my special day even more special. 10/10 would definitely come back!!!

It looked like my coworkers enjoyed their burgers. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner. Definitively a consistent place for our team to come back to.
