I've been going here ONE MILLION YEARS and no matter how sporadically I go, they seem to always remember my name and my drink, which can be a bit of a rarity in this town. The baristas are the best in the business and many of them have stayed for years because of the fun atmosphere --- and seriously, how many people can boast that? And the ones that have gone on, they have replaced them with also truly nice people. My favorite location is the one on Stone Way (Greenlake), but all of them are very nice. The Greenlake one has outdoor seating. A few years ago I was listening to an especially heart-wrenching story on This American Life and was crying and driving (I am such a country western song, I swear). I stopped at Diva to get a cup of coffee and this woman walked in all teary-eyed and announced that she was listening to This American Life and heard the saddest story. And I had to say, "ohmigodmetoo!!!!" and we both cried more. She owns Diva and she is terribly nice (probably why her employees stay). And their blended iced coffee drink is THE MOST AMAZING BLENDED ICED COFFEE EVER!!!! I usually hate those fru-fru drinks - they can be so sweet that they taste like marshmallow and there isn't much kick, as far as coffee. The "Chumley", as they call it, is the equivalent of a double and if that isn't enough for you, have them add shots. I don't know what's in the chumley mix - it must be equal parts of coffee, milk, magic & crack, with a pinch of malted (of course, I'm quite sure it's not crack, but I have to warn you, it's highly addictive like tomacco or something). Oh my gosh my favorite coffee shop. Amber is the most talented and wonderful barista I have ever had the joy of buying coffee from. She's incredibly talented, pulls perfect shots, makes microfoam, and remembers your drink every time. I literally ordered a drink from her the first time, came back two or three weeks later and she knew it! She and all the rest of the staff are also warm and friendly. I'm not much of a talker but I always enjoy small chats with them and conversation never feels forced or weird. Sam is super easy to talk to and I always end up having full conversations with him (unusual for me). I've been a regular for a couple years now I think and I love the place. Pull up a chair! If you need a moment of sanity accompanied by a well made cup of Joe, Diva Espresso serves it up with a style all their own. Shabby chic ambiance with beat up old school wooden tables & chairs and a crystal chandelier. Feel good vibes thanks to a little Frank Sinatra playing softly while I sip a Almond Soy latte and finish some work emails. Chalk board menus offer some house specialties. Limited bakery case, but a variety of chocolate covered biscotti's if that is your thing. read more

The coffee is ok. Not the best but certainly not the worst. I had the almond filled croissant and it was amazing! Far outshined the coffee. The vibe is hip and relaxed and if the coffee were better, I could see spending a weekend afternoon here, especially once they open up the outside seating. I'm afraid to write a review here because I'm selfishly trying to keep this diamond in the rough from the masses. These guys and gal make a mean latte (creamy, smooth and decorative) AND the mysterious London Fog, the latest craze of tea, vanilla and steamed milk. According to one of the baristas here, "It's been blowing up!!!!" I'd also like to comment on the people who work here. It definitely has that Cheers (Norm!) feel to it. You walk in, they know your drink ("Your regular, short latte with one raw sugar?") and they make it with glee. Ok, maybe not glee but it's a happy place. This place is way out of my normal haunts, but I can see why it's so popular. They have fair trade espresso, well made, and with great fast service. It has a nice atmosphere for hanging out, and excellent eavesdropping prospects. I very much enjoyed my jalapeno bagel (genuinely spicy!) and double tall iced latte. In spite of not having air conditioning, they use fans and open doors and windows to the best advantage, and even though it was 90 F today, I didn't get sweated out by any means. Great location across the street from Blue Star Cafe off 45th, the service is amazing and the ambience is perfect for a coffee shop. Brandon and Amber will make whatever your heart's desire or even whip something up if you have no idea what you are in the mood for. If you are a latte person, try the salted caramel or raspberry coconut. The selection of eateries and pastries are okay. Lots of tables, an honor library and small outdoor patio make this the perfect place to hang out for a bit to study or work. Background music is eclectic, ranging from Tony Bennett to Smashing Pumpkins, but is never overpowering. Great coffee, great folks, great place. read more

Cute little cafe - not a ton of seating, but when I went, it also wasn't super crowded so the seating was ample. The barista was very friendly, and they have wifi; although it was going in and out for me. Lastly, the bathroom went out of order while I was working there, so I actually had to leave before I was really ready to (because I had to find another bathroom)...this could happen at any other small coffeeshop, but just something to think about if you're going to a small coffeeshop and planning on working for a while (i.e., always have backup plans haha). read more

This place is walking distance from home which makes it ideal. They always have about 2-3 drips to choose from and they're always good. I almost rated them down because of their name. "Diva Espresso" makes me think that I will be receiving my coffee from a fishnet/ pasty wearing barista, which was not the case, thankfully. Maybe they should change their name to Dave's Espresso, even though there may not be a Dave involved. I think it would help for business. read more

Kind of loud, but it's small and there are parents and kids playing board games, so that makes sense. There's also a bus driver breaking, and a few seniors reading, and some students studying - really an interesting mix of people, very neighborly. The tables are big too, so I can spread my stuff out (not so many outlets, though). Also, I forgot my wallet, and they gave me my drink with the understanding I'd pay next time. I'd even caught they before they started to make the thing, so they could have easily turned me down, no hard feelings. It's not cheap as sin, but it's reasonable and the wi-fi signal is strong. Ever since I started teleworking, this has been my go-to office for a few hours every week or so. I love its cozy feel and friendly baristas. It has a sense of community and neighborly-ness that is super comforting! The lattes I've had are all great, and the baked goods look tasty, but I've never had any. I went here for the first time yesterday because I needed some caffeine before work. The batista who helped me was super friendly and awesome. I asked her to make me a fun energy spritz drink, and she made me the BEST drink I've ever had!!! Still love this place. They give you a discount if you bring your own mug, and they even warm it up with a little hot water before putting your drink in there. If that's not customer service, I don't know what is. You can get day-old pastries for extra cheap and they're still yummy. Plus they give said pastries weird names. I think one time I had the Paula Abdul Scone, which if memory serves was cranberry orange--a little tart and sassy, just like it's namesake. read more

I'm a Diva loyalist and have been spending a good amount of time in this one. It's almost always quiet and empty-ish on weekday afternoons, which is good for me. Last time I was there though, the wifi was out and there was no sign up or anything, which bugged, but I'm loyal for a reason and that's because the coffee is consistently SUPERB. read more

The Wallingford Diva looks sort of like Groundskeeper Willie's shed from the outside, but on the inside it is actually quite comfortable. There are a few tables inside, one or two out front, and then some more outdoor seating on their patio. Diva coffee is very good, but not quite my favorite in Seattle (that goes to Vita). The Diva locations more then beat the other good Seattle coffee places by having a much more comfortable vibe. If I go into Cafe Vita, I immediately feel too uncool to hangout. Or in Vivace, I feel chastised by the baristas as they inform me, "We don't serve drip." In Diva, the cafe feels hip but welcoming, and their drip coffee is always good. It's a good balance between drinks that satisfy coffee snobs and friendly laid back peeps. read more

All I can say is AMBER AMBER AMBER! The only reason I continue to travel 15 miles out of the way to get a coffee is to get one from her. I stopped by this morning for the first time as I happened to be too early for the postal office across the street to open. I ordered a large latte and I have to say it was the best latte I have ever had in 15 years of latte appreciation! It was creamy and smooth. Today I wanted to try something new! I have never tried Diva Espresso until today- I usually go to one of the other dozen coffee shops by my house. There was a long line and when I walked in the barista asked me what drink she could get ready for me. That impressed me. The other people in line were all regulars that the barista "Amber" knew by name. I brought my baby with me and another customer mentioned she had a baby at home...anyways I enjoyed the nice people that seem to love this coffee shop. My latte was delicious and I loved the variety of breakfast goodies there were to choose from. I will definitely be visiting again! :D read more

This was the worst cafe I've been too I got the mocha chumley with whip and the whipped cream was spoiled and tasted rancid. I am shocked that they give people spoiled whipped cream I couldnt even enjoy my drink because the whipped cream just tasted so bad. Plus the drink was overly sweetened. I've gone to other places and had better drinks that actually worth 6 bucks. I am very disgusted and dissatisfied. Never coming here again. read more

Super duper cute barrista and great coffee to boot!

I stop by Diva every time I'm in Seattle for my caffeine fix. The store is comfortable and quite-ish. It is a great place to get some work done and it is never too packed. I always get a latte with soy milk which is consistently good although it isn't the best latte I've ever had. My girlfriend got a hot chocolate once which was pretty bland and had only a hint of chocolate flavor. read more

It's just fine. From the outside, looks smaller and pretty run down. Inside, it's your standard cozy coffee shop but lacking a little something extra in the atmosphere. Maybe it's just because the neighborhood sucks? Hot chocolate was good enough but nothing extraordinary. I do like the design on their cups. read more
