    Hummus
    Martha W.

What I liked: the beer I had ( IPA ), the large portions especially of the hummus. It was literally enough for about 6 people. I also liked the space outside and the people there. A lot of people had dogs and people tend to bond over their dogs. I don't get these places that don't allow dogs. Anyway I'm just glad they do here. It was also open mic night, so it added a bit of entertainment to being there. They also have pool tables to entertain you.

    Great beer and food!

What great beer - one of the best here in Mammoth. We also had the hummus plate, which was probably one of the best we have ever had. It had an assortment of food to dip into it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We drove by after a hike on Saturday afternoon and it was packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried on a Monday and it was much better to get a table. Mammoth hopping on the weekends. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had tables both inside and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Mango light beer and half margherita pizza - both ok

Very busy brewery in Mammoth Lakes and highly rated, so I stopped in after driving half a day to reach here to fill up my tank. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was jammed pack with people at 6pm and definitely a lot of solo men in here, some couples, quite a few doggies, families. Seems everyone gathered here after a day on the mountain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast as you order at the bar and if you order food, you get a number and they bring the food to you. I had a mango light beer and half a margherita pizza. Beer was drinkable but couldn't really taste any mango accents. Pizza was also edible, but for me, the drizzled balsamic vinaigrette was not for me, but appreciated the fresh tomato and basil. Nice place to stop in and would consider coming back again but I'm pretty certain this place will be very very congested on the weekend...

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was decent. Beer and wine were nice. Nice experience for mammoth visit.

I've been to Distant Brewery on my last two trips to Mammoth , both times everything has been great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are always busy and on our last trip in January we wound up sitting outside. There were heaters and several people so everything was fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've always enjoyed the food we've had there. It is delicious.

Staff super chill. Beers & food amazing! My new favorite spot in mammoth! We got their burger and was outstanding!

Stopped in during drive from Reno to Bishop. I was hoping to get a bite to eat to accompany the beer. Kitchen closed an hour before closing so only tried the beer. Had a hazy and a wc, both were really well made. They had a local DJ running the music, vey good. A good crowd for the beer and music even though it was pretty loud. Would definitely try if staying in the Mammoth area - I like breweries so I normally stop by them whenever I can.

West Coast IPA and their Sure, Bert Sour

The food was decent (I got asada tacos - pictured and not pictured are the cheeseburger and chicken sandwich my husband and kid got), the drinks were better. My husband can't recall the exact name of the beer he got but it was a West Coast IPA. I got the sour and I loved it. It tasted like juice to me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was chill. They have a stage for music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food came out quickly and those working the bar and serving our food were nice. Totally would come back again.

Standard brewery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was very busy/crowded with very limited seating and tables around 5 pm on a Sunday during ski season.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have several beers on tap and a few non-beer options as well. The huckleberry seltzer was super good, from project x I think. The cider from Shelter Distillery was superrrr dry, beware. $8 each before tip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of folks brought kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Chicken bacon avo sandwich, pretzels with cheese sauce

GREAT soft pretzels and cheese. Decent chicken bacon avo sandwich and Mac n cheese but everything pales in comparison to the pretzels. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were there during the World Cup so can't say anything about the regular ambiance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ‍

    Flight time. All bomb!

I thought I wrote a review for this brewery when I was in town a couple months ago. It's unfortunate my review doesn't reflect the potential of their beers. Let me preface my rating with the fact that the beers were great and that alone would have made it a 5 star place to visit. We shared 2 flights and also shared a couple of their cans from a local LIQ the day before. So the beers get a nod of approval. However, the service was awful. We sat at the bar and were enjoying our time and the first flight. But three things happened with the order of a second flight that ruined the whole experience. 1. Some drunk chick that used to work there was behind the bar and pouring herself a beer and it seemed inappropriate and she was annoying and acting like she owned the place. The actual workers did nothing/said nothing. 2. Some of the workers' friends or whoever (maybe that same drunk lady) completely surrounded us at the bar and invaded our peraonal space, everyone completely oblivious to us gets aggitated (or just not caring). They were really in tuned to talking over the bar to their friends though which added insult toninjury 3. There was an animal on the bar that everyone thought was so cute, but it is almost getting its tail in our drinks. So not only was it completely unprofessional but a health code violation. The workers still didnt seem to care. We went and sat outside to finish our last two samplers. They were clueless to the fact we left or why, which highlightes the customer service we experienced.

Ask the Community - Distant Brewing

    Is it 21 and up?

To order beer, yes. To order food or soda or iced tea or to play pool or any of the games on the game shelf or to listen to music or to hang out? No.

Are there TVs there to watch the LA Kings games?

We have a 100” projector and we can play one game at a time. Just ask your bartender and if no one has requested anything we should be able to find it to stream online.

Does this restaurant take reservations ? Thank you!

We do not. It’s all first come first serve.

As you enter you are greeted by someone and then it's open seating and you basically scan the QR code and order thru your phone and pay as well it's easy and convenient. The food options are great and their food is Delicious. Simple concept but very well put together. We had their Beet Salad and their Pizza along with their Pork Belly taco and every bite was satisfying and full of flavor. The salad was the win for me I love a good beet salad, the dressing it was tossed in was just perfection along with the goat cheese. For their drinks I had a Beet infused drink and well it was different but just worked and was strong & also tried a local beer. You order your food and then a server just comes and drops off and if you need anything you just look their way and they help out. The servers were very friendly the ones bringing out the food, it was kind of a bummer toward the end, I always say the staff make the visit enjoyable or not and that can def hinder people from coming back. A simple question was asked about the merch and the answer was just rude.. there was a Main lady by the register and she just didn't have the friendliest vibe or smile at all. We left kinda confused but the food was great and that doesn't change the food review and the vibes here. There was an indoor and outdoor seating and cool views to people watch and loved that it was Dog friendly so many cute pups. They had these mixed drinks in can and Lemme tell you they were AMAZING we took them back to our campsite and was the perfect drink to just hang with. Can't wait to pick some up again.

The food is decent, it's never going to absolutely wow you but it will be sufficient and well priced. This time I tried their mac and cheese, it was cheesy and I liked the type of pasta noodle they used that allowed it to get extra crispy and crunchy with the spiral texture, however it was a little dry and on the blander side for mac! Genius, convenient and perfect for groups as there's no splitting the bill awkwardly at the end. And the dog friendliness is so clutch, our pups always enjoy the sunshine and rest. Unfortunately, they were out of both of those items. I server was Daniel and he was friendly and helpful in choosing other entrees. We split a Caesar salad, which was refreshing. For Andres, we ordered the venison and duck. My husband was worried about the venison, but Daniel assured him that he would find it very tender. Both of the nails were very good, but I think we ended up preferring the venison. The plates were beautifully prepared and served. Our food came out within about 15 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service we received. We will definitely be back again and hopefully the lamb will be available.

Super friendly, attentive, and took the time to walk us through the beer options while we already had our food picked out. Service like that makes a difference. We started with the mushroom soup (soup of the day). It was fully blended and smooth -- no big chunks -- and while it wasn't the most memorable soup ever, it definitely hit the spot after being out in the cold all day. The Oyster Rockefeller was the highlight. Perfectly done. The oysters tasted fresh, the spinach flavor came through nicely, and the crispy topping added the perfect crunch. I planned to have just one... ended up eating two. For the main, we ordered the steak medium well. It came out more charred on the outside than expected, so it wasn't amazing, but still solid. The fries were great though -- especially paired with beer. Overall, the food was good but not extraordinary. However, the service -- especially from Alonso -- really elevated the experience. Because of that, and the cozy post-snowboard vibe, this earns 5 stars.
