The mechanic talked to me like I'm an idiot. I told him it wasn't working and rather than take a look at it he said I would have to bring it in for a diagnostic test. For a blinker bulb? So I went home. It still didn't work after I had paid $80 to have them fix it. I took it back and they had a mechanic look at it again and he actually fixed it, but not for good. It worked for a while off and on so today I called them back because I want my blinker fixed and they told me the manager told them that since I'm not happy with the service I should go somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. WTF!!!

I was pulling a Uhaul trailer they helped me unhitch. They got me in a service bay right away. Needed pads and rotors which they installed. They helped me hook the trailer back up and I was back on the road by 4PM. Great customer service experience. I would recommend them to anyone who needs auto repair

When I returned, CJ got my van in as promised, diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts and had me out the door shortly after 5:30 and the price was entirely reasonable. I worked from the waiting room via their free wifi and over the course of the day overheard the way CJ treated his customers... always with respect and honesty. I heard him say, "You don't owe me anything for checking it out, just bring it back when it has something that needs to be fixed." That is how you build a great customer base. After leaving, I spoke to a friend who told me their 'service' sucks - so I write this to let you know I'd had a terrible experience and would not recommend. I don't care how good their mechanics might be. If the guy up front is not the owner, he should be fired.

They also offered to open up early after the holiday to check out our car before we got back on the highway for a 14 hour drive. Dennis and team went above and beyond to ensure our safety, and were incredibly professional and kind. Bravo and thank you Dennis and team!

After coming back from the Silverton train ride around 230pm on a Friday, I tried to start my car and it just wouldn't give. After calling around all the local shops, everyone basically told me nothing is open on weekends and they were booked till earliest mid week of the following week. When I called Durango Car Care, I told them my situation and they told me they'd try and look at it if I got there before they close but no guarantees they would be able to fix it on time. AAA came around 4pm and got me to the shop around 430pm. The guys stopped what they were working on and tried to troubleshoot my car. After about 15 minutes, they got it working again!!! They didn't have to do any of that! This literally brought my faith back in humanity! The kindest guys and angels to me that day!! I am so so thankful to them and my AAA guy Daylon. Hands down would recommend these guys!!

I had a weird feeling so I checked yelp. After reading previous reviews about the same issues, I had my car towed to another shop where they told me the bolts were completely fine and charged me only $2000 for the work I needed done (alignment, brake pads, the new rotors and control arms!) including replacing the bolts Built to Last sheared off. Additionally, BTL overtightened the bolt on my oil tank crushing the nut and causing the oil change I paid them for to leak out all over my driveway. I wanted to like this place since a friend had recommended but it just felt sketchy

We took our vehicle in for an alignment and were quoted $220 for the work. Later, we were informed…read morethat the eccentric bolts were stripped and had to be replaced before they could align it--$1470. We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2024 and no repairs had ever been done to it, so how did those bolts get stripped? The technician at Built to Last was the ONLY person to have ever tried to loosen them. We got two other estimates, from two other local repair shops, and they both came it at around $350 for the bolt replacements and the alignment, both. We believe that the tech at Built to Last stripped those bolts and the shop was asking us to pay for the repair--at a highly inflated price. I posted a review to their website and it has disappeared, so they refused to post it. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews for Built to Last before I took our vehicle in, but the only negative reviews are several years old, and they are VERY NEGATIVE, so I'm suspicious that this shop is deleting any current negative reviews. BEWARE! Get a second opinion.

Buyer beware. I was quoted one price over the phone but charged $56 more when I arrived. I did not realize this until glancing at my notes just as the installation was finishing up. I brought this to Emilio's attention but I tired (no pun intended) of speaking to a wall. They got me this time. Apparently it's come to having to record phone conversations; I have no other way to PROVE what I was told verbally. I'm just disappointed. I'll have to wear through this set of tires and I won't use Discount again, there are simply too many other choices. UPDATE: after a second trip to the store and speaking w manager Ryan he was very accommodating and agreed to honor the initial price I was quoted. Thank you! I have chosen 4 stars because I don't feel they cleaned enough mud from inside my wheels and this may throw off balance once they're clean. Ryan was very willing to pull my wheels, clean them and rebalance but I just wanted to go home. I know mud takes extra time but in rural areas this is just part of the territory for tire shops; there is little point in trying to balance a wheel which has dirt or mud coating the inside diameter. By choosing to balance muddy wheels they're gambling that the results will be "good enough" and/or the customer just won't notice. As I said Ryan was willing to address my concern here but I had spent enough time at Discount for the day. read more

My wife, son, his fiance, and I drove to Durango from Lake City over a few mountain passes. By the time we got to Durango on a Friday night, we had a flat tire caused by a nail. We found a place to put some air in the tire, get our car to a place where we could get the spare on and then get to Discount Tire on Saturday morning. We were the first in line at 7:45. Daniel Jymm was our Technician. He and the whole team did a great job. Daniel checked our car and tire in and go the team started. We had thought it would take a few hours. Daniel and the Discount Tire team in Durango had us finished within 30 to 45 minutes. During that time, Daniel explained the process to fix a flat tire in detail. We were on our way and were able to make it to the Brew Train between Durango and Silverton for a great train ride through the Canyon. I have a 1988 ford festiva with 12 inch tires. Living in the mountains of Silverton, snow tires are really important and 12 inch snow tires weirdly no longer exist :( I spent months calling tire companies looking for a solution and not one tire place could help me. Someone recommended Discount Tires and I spoke with Sam and that guy found a solution for me! He ordered 13 inch wheels and snow tires and swapped everything out and I am back on the road again, without being terrified!. Thanks Sam and Discount Tire. read more

I've been getting my tires from Discount for about 5 plus years and have been waaay happy I left the other place. The guys are knowledgeable, friendly and get the job done. I bought cool new black spoke wheels for my Gold Tacoma through them as well, and outside of the fact that in a rotate and balance I invariably find another chip in the black wheels, it's good. Maybe the guys could slow down just a hair or two. I get they get swamped but..... Other than that I have no intention of going anywhere else. read more

Ordered 4 tires on a Tuesday, delivered on Wednesday and installed with appointment on Thursday. Very very busy but all employees greeted everyone with a smile and great attitude. And the service and installation was within one hour. Wow. Enjoyed the music too. Appreciated the 10% military discount and another 5% for creating profile on line. As retirees, every little bit helps. Thanks again. read more

Stopped here while traveling to have some tire work done on our camper. This place is super busy but appropriately staffed with lots of employees. Everyone was polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Not your average tire store for sure. read more
