I have never experienced such poor customer service. I brought my car in to have a blinker bulb changed. When I left I realized the blinker wasn't working so I made a I-turn and went back. The mechanic talked to me like I'm an idiot. I told him it wasn't working and rather than take a look at it he said I would have to bring it in for a diagnostic test. For a blinker bulb? So I went home. It still didn't work after I had paid $80 to have them fix it. I took it back and they had a mechanic look at it again and he actually fixed it, but not for good. It worked for a while off and on so today I called them back because I want my blinker fixed and they told me the manager told them that since I'm not happy with the service I should go somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. WTF!!! read more

Came in from out of state on a late Friday afternoon with a backend tire issue on my F350 Dually. Called this Firestone service center and made an appt for the repair. Piper and Roland at the front desk were very polite nice and extremely knowledgeable on the repair for my truck. Service technician Baren worked hard to swap out multiple tires to get the configuration of the six tires correct and did a fabulous job. As I waited for the repair to complete I watched other customers come in I was impressed by Roland and Piper and the way they addressed and treated the customers. You can no longer get a simple seasonal tire change over, which until this year was about $80-90. Now they charge $170 for a "comprehensive inspection" when they do the change over. I don't need or want that. I am not wealthy, my cars are old. have been a regular customer there for over 15 years. The new owners try to upsell you on absolutely everything. I am sure there is no shortage of new rich people to overcharge in Durango. I am not one of them. It was good while it lasted. read more

We unfortunately had a tire blow out in Santa Rosa, NM on our way to Durango for Iron Horse weekend. We were able to change to our spare tire but definitely needed to replace it. Firestone was able to match the tire on my 4Runner, though they did not have it in stock. That said, they were able to get it in the very next day and even mounted the tire and replaced it for me. The cost was about what I expected for a fresh tire and everyone we encountered was professional and helpful. Though I hope to not need to replace tires or need vehicle servicing anytime soon, I wouldn't hesitate to come to this location again. They did an excellent job and I'm grateful for their hard work and professionalism! read more

I had a flat and took it to Firestone 2515 Main St in Durango CO. They showed me a photo of the tire with a nail where the side wall meets the tread and could not repaired. The tire could not be covered under warranty due to they are not a Firestone affiliated store. I told them I would drive back to Albuquerque on the spare. The firestone store in Albuquerque repaired the tire explaining the puncture was in the middle of the tread. The Firestone store in Durango CO attempted to cheat me. read more

I've used this garage a few times in the past with great quick results. However, this morning was not positive. I arrived 6 minutes late for my 7:30 am appt and waited for the Customer Service Representative (CSR) to address another customer with communication issues. When that was over, I said my name and appointment time. My record was found and the CSR asked when I was in last. I said a I did not know, a few days ago. I stated the nature of the problem and where the work was previously suspended. I was again asked when and I said I did not know, a few days ago. I was then asked why I had to have that attitude. I then asked why the previous date was relevant and why that information was not in their system. I was told the CSR had been on vacation and did not know what had transpired in the last few days and thus the nature of the date question. I still do not understand the relevance and even if relevant why that information was not captured with the diagnostics note. I did not think resolution was possible with this individual. I left unsatisfied with the same car issue after waiting over a week for this appt. read more

While visiting Silverton CO, we went 4X4 on Stony pass. We ended up damaging a tire at 12,000 feet. I now needed a used tire to get back home. Mike at Firestone had a used tire that fit the Jeep. Mike and his staff were fantastic! We were out of there in less then an hour, and less then 100 bucks. Have been in Durango for several days enjoying the town. Stayed at the Grand Junction campsite. Friday morning we were coming down the hill in our Ford F350 Diesel truck, and I noticed that my brakes were almost gone. They were very mushy and had a lot of play in them. I knew immediately what the problem was and pulled over. I observed a large amount of brake fluid pouring out from the left rear of the truck. Driving safely and in low gears, made it down to the bottom of the hill and into town at 7:30 in the morning. Searched online for any repair shops who could assist us. Not one of them had a mechanic available or they were simply closed on a Friday (go figure). Anyway, I did not realize that Firestone did brake work, but we took a chance and gave them a call. They made room for us on their schedule and had us come right in. They were unable to find the part needed anywhere in town, but were able to re-manufacture the parts needed with the parts that they already had in the shop. I don't think any other Shop would've done this for us. We have nothing but positive high praise for the staff at Firestone. Dave Abbott, and his staff were very professional, courteous and helpful. Driving through Durango on our way back to California, we started experiencing shimmying when braking. We called a friend in Durango for a recommendation for a mechanic. She said she knew a great tire guy at Big O tires. We were worried it was a rotor issue because of the symptoms but started with the tire specialist. The tire specialist confirmed the symptoms pointed to brakes not tires. Nevertheless, figuring a tire specialist probably sees a lot of problems that need to be referred to someone who does brakes, we asked him for a recommendation and he recommended Firestone. Mike and his team at Firestone took a look at the brakes. After investigating, he concluded the problem was just slightly warped rotors but recommended against repairing them now unless the shimmying itself was too unpleasant for us. The brake pads are still at 50% and the rotor damage is only annoying not dangerous. Mike was clearly more interested in doing the right thing and maintaining an excellent reputation than maximizing his profit. He recommended we hold off on the brake work even though he knew there was no prospect he'd get the work since we live 1000 miles away. If we did live here, I'd definitely go to him for the work. read more

They went above and beyond to uncover a problem that was overlooked by another shop to get us back on the road for a safe trip home! Until recently I would have had nothing but great things to say about this place but my last experience has resulted in over $2000 in expenses do to their negligence on my vehicle in repairs. Following a repair on a small oil leak they did my vehicle was still leaking oil. I took the vehicle back and they told me that a new leak was occurring from another location. They then told me that the new oil leak was not an issue they could fix. I took my vehicle to the local dealership that correctly diagnosed the issue. When the dealership showed me the problem their tech stated that the leak was caused by the repair that Firestone of Durango did. I returned to Firestone with pictures and told them what was happening. They claimed that the gasket that was now leaking was not their fault and the gasket must have been leaking for last 100,000 miles despite never having a leak before taking it to them. They refused to refund any money to me. I will never take a vehicle there again. read more

On June 6th we arrived at the doors of Firestone of Durango after a negative experience the previous evening with a different tire dealer in Durango. The man at the desk, Bert, quickly took our information and had our flat tire assessed. Sadly, it turned out that there was too much damage to the interior sidewall to safely repair and use the tire. Bert, realizing that we were midway through a two week road trip from Massachusetts, started calling around Durango and its surroundings in search of a replacement tire. My vehicle, a 2014 Subaru Forester XT Touring, has a somewhat unique tire size so the search wasn't very fruitful. The others on the staff gave Bert a hand by taking over the parts search calls for the shop's other customers. I was impressed at how the staff was able to adapt to the monkey wrench that our unique problem had created. In the end they were able to locate a set of tires in just one Durango tire shop and of course they were at the tire dealer we had our negative experience with the night before. We were told that if we had any problems with this other dealer that we should come back to Firestone and they would acquire the tires from the other dealer and install them for us. Fortunately, that did not become necessary, but I appreciated the offer. Bert and the crew really went out of their way to do everything they could to get us back on the road and I could not have asked for a better price than what we were given for their help. I highly recommend Firestone of Durango and the amazing crew there. I only wish they were closer because I'd certainly use them for all my tire service needs. read more

Bert was wonderful. On the way back from Ouray we noticed more shimmying in the front tires when applying the brakes. We stopped at Firestone to make an appointment. In April we had new rotors installed and tires aligned in Goodyear AZ. Bert said that it was still a rotor problem even though we had only 3000 miles on the rotors. He personally called Firestone store in AZ and explained the problem. The manager there said everything was still under warranty and to bring the car in when we return to AZ.
