Edit: Phil called in response to my review. See the attached invoice. I had already replaced the camshaft position sensor (a ten minute job), which was new. This did not resolve the code, which indicated the connection was intermittent. I had tested the connector with a multimeter, which indicated there was a bad connection at the connector. This was communicated to the service manager when I dropped off the vehicle. The technician stated that there was a broken tab on the camshaft position sensor, and they replaced the brand new part I had just installed. See the attached photo. That the tab could be broken without being filed off is highly suspect. It's a durable part. That the relatively fragile connector was damaged is more credible. In my opinion, as stated to the service manager, it was obviously the part that needed to be replaced. They replaced the connector, which again, I had communicated was the likely issue. They claim to have paid $110 for this part that I can purchase at Napa for $26. So in summary, I paid $685 to have them swap out a $26 connector. I can only conclude they're either dishonest or incompetent. Edit 2: Well Phil, now you're just outright lying. You did not show me the new camshaft position sensor you removed and replaced. Your technician did not perform any diagnostics, and ignored the diagnostic information I provided to you in advance. He just started swapping parts, AND overcharging for the time spent. Even if the sensor needed to be replaced, a $40 part that takes ten minutes to install, to charge me $685 is absurd.

I brought my vehicle in last month for an oil change, alignment, and new brakes after being…read morerecommended by a friend. They called to say the bolts under my car were sheering off from rust and all of them would need to be replaced along with my rotors and control arms with a starting estimate of $6k just to get the car functional, not replacing all the rotors. I had a weird feeling so I checked yelp. After reading previous reviews about the same issues, I had my car towed to another shop where they told me the bolts were completely fine and charged me only $2000 for the work I needed done (alignment, brake pads, the new rotors and control arms!) including replacing the bolts Built to Last sheared off. Additionally, BTL overtightened the bolt on my oil tank crushing the nut and causing the oil change I paid them for to leak out all over my driveway. I wanted to like this place since a friend had recommended but it just felt sketchy

We took our vehicle in for an alignment and were quoted $220 for the work. Later, we were informed…read morethat the eccentric bolts were stripped and had to be replaced before they could align it--$1470. We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2024 and no repairs had ever been done to it, so how did those bolts get stripped? The technician at Built to Last was the ONLY person to have ever tried to loosen them. We got two other estimates, from two other local repair shops, and they both came it at around $350 for the bolt replacements and the alignment, both. We believe that the tech at Built to Last stripped those bolts and the shop was asking us to pay for the repair--at a highly inflated price. I posted a review to their website and it has disappeared, so they refused to post it. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews for Built to Last before I took our vehicle in, but the only negative reviews are several years old, and they are VERY NEGATIVE, so I'm suspicious that this shop is deleting any current negative reviews. BEWARE! Get a second opinion.

After asking for help 3 out of the 4 didn't even bother to look up. Got my part and left. Came back a few hours latter with the core, big surprises when I was met with the same poor service. Return the core was a major hassle as the employee appeared to have no clue what he was doing. Nobody had a uniform on or name tag so forget knowing who you're talking to. The store is a disaster with merchandise laying everywhere. I even noticed they had to post a disclaimer stating that the prices on the products may not be the actual price. Only the threat of taking my business to auto zone made them self aware and slightly helpful. An American flag stood at the doorway moving with the slight wind, displaying everyone that this place is an American favored business. I came in for a simple tail light replacement bulb. In the low level lighting and overcrowded shelves, I found the light bulb that I needed fault quickly. Upon confronting an employee to purchase, an anorexic female with clothing that seemed two sizes two big immediately informed me that she was not at the counter, I looked left and another employee was looking online at the computer screen, I looked right and saw another fumbling thru a thick booklet admiring the colourful pictures, a third employee was actually assisting a customer. The only other customer that was inside at the time. "I'll bet Auto Zone has better customer service" I announced to the crowd, they all stopped and stared except for the anorexic woman who blindly carried on doing nothing and trying in vain to avoid eye contact. Finally the online looker rudely aghast a breath and checked out the part I picked out. "Debt or credit" she said, i replied with "debt please" she ran it as credit. As I walked outside, the same flag stood at the doorway announcing that this is what America now has to offer. Ugh..
