Having lived in Durango for nearly twenty years and purchased three Toyotas , none from the local dealership ,I overcame warnings from friends and tried Durango Motor Company. The warnings were not overstated. I feel that the dealership was not honest about trade in value on my 2018 Toyota and was able to secure four estimates ,the highest of which was a little more than half of their stated in house cost . The vehicle that we agreed on was not on the lot but after I placed a deposit they secured a 2026 Land Cruiser and said that as soon as they found transport they would have it sent to Durango. A week later the manager could not find the paperwork let alone the vehicle. Don't waste your time and energy at this dealership read more

Sent an "availability" inquiry online where I simply wanted to know if a vehicle was in stock. Got 6 spam messages from 4 different names which not a single one actually addressed was the car available across several days. Thankfully worked with someone over the phone finally enough to make a deal work out but then get told as I'm about to leave they did find a spare set of wheels they'd ship to me. 2-3 months later.... not a word from them or seen the wheels at my door. horrible experience. I had scheduled an appointment through their website and taveled 3 1/2 hours to get there. I specifically stated I wanted to drive the Lincoln models and also gave a time I would be there with contact information. Then when when we got there a manager handed us off to a sales person and that sales person proceeded to tell us we could not test drive any of the models I requested. You can imagine how very upset I was and that they could of contacted me prior to let me know that I could not test drive the models requested. I was furious to say the least. Bottom line is, I don't trust Durango Motors for vehicle service. On Dec. 12th, 2025, I had a scheduled appointment to complete the "Works" service, oil change, tire rotation, top off fluids, etc. And to replace spark plugs. I waited in the guest area for 4 hours without getting any updates from my service advisor Mariah Sheets. When I paid for my service, I didn't receive a multi - inspection report, and the cashier told me that, it wasn't completed because my last service was last done 3,000 miles prior. (This wasn't true as my last service was April 1, 2025 and 4,777 miles prior), and why should that matter(?) when you pay for a service it should be completed in spite of mileage. When I got home, I checked tire pressures, they weren't the same, fluids had not been topped off. I was unsure that tires were rotated because I noticed that previous missing valve cap was still missing on same tire, (left passenger front), and other items that should have been completed with service, etc. etc. Dustin Burns did send mobile service van to my home on 12/16, and service provider, Emilio, did a great job completing inspection and work that was not done at Durango Motors Service Center. Dustin Burns, operations mgr. did apologize for my poor service experience at Durango Motors, however, the bottom line is that I can't trust that service at Durango Motors will be completed as it should be. read more

Came her to purchase a Toyota Tacoma. When I came in, they seemed to take us as a joke. Laughed at the fact that I was looking for a car and explained that I would have to wait months to get one. We understand how hard is it's to get a car now a days, but we felt like they didn't take us seriously and did not give us the customer service we were looking for. Our interactions were awkward as well. They also did not have any new vehicles for us to look at or test drive (Even though their website showed they had a few trucks available). I'm the easiest customer ever. I bought the first car I test drove, didn't haggle, I was nice and friendly. Female, buying a car by myself. I got bamboozled even though I tried real hard not to get screwed in this car purchase. #FAIL Eric akin + Jason fink + Devin Beam are the sales person, finance person, and sales manager that scammed me by selling me a 30k mile warranty when it was proposed as a 100k mile warranty. Now that I've noticed the discrepancy nobody can return multiple phone calls, or emails, nor have they provided the ACTUAL replacement warranty. Next UP: I paid my sales tax with purchase of the car and live in another state. I purchased the car 9/27/22 and still to this day, have no way to register it because paperwork and funds held are still in limbo with dealership. It's Jan 7th, I've had the car 3.5 months. The temp tag that came with the car expired before thanksgiving. 2 stars only because they have a slushy Dr Pepper machine in the lobby for customers. read more

I got to meet Management & Staff @ Durango Motors today and was grateful they had contacted me to see where we could work together. They were kind enough do complete a VIN# verification for me and updated me on Ford's 2021 ordering cycle for our Unicorn T350 AWD passenger van. Turns out, it might not be a "unicorn" after all! Also checked out their Ford "Quick Lane" Service and was impressed to be greeted by a kind and knowledge Service Advisor when I walked up. Will make an appointment later this month to have our Mustang GT serviced there. Quick Lane also does Ford Fleet vehicles, so will be taking Fleet F150 4x4 there as well. My truck broke down 900 miles from home. Had it towed into durango motor co since it was the closest dealership. After blowing smoke up my ass about what they thought the problem could be they just wiped the code and said it was all good. Truck drove decent for about half a day when the same problem started. I limped it back to them and all they did was scan the ECU. Had me wait 4 hours just to tell me that the truck is fine and they found no problems. Got back on the road for about 2 hours when the truck broke down completely. Their Toyota service department is either completely incompetent or lazy crooks. Took the truck to the next closest dealership and they had the problem found, and fixed in under 2 hours. read more

I spent my life savings this summer to purchase a brand-new 4Runner from Durango Motors. On the first weekend drive, the dashboard began rattling loudly, and it's been back for repairs four times since then, totaling over 20 days in just three months. Each time, the vehicle is returned without resolving the main dashboard issue. It was only after a longer test drive, during which we were in the car together, that they finally acknowledged the issue. Despite this, they continue to avoid responsibility, framing their repair attempts on my $50,000 truck as a "goodwill gesture". After the most recent repair attempt--which took eight days--the dashboard is still as bad as ever, and it seems they didn't even test-drive the vehicle. This time, they told me the 4Runner Off Road Premium should stay on pavement for at least 2,000 miles to let things "settle." I consulted with a body shop expert and an audio specialist who works with dashboards, and neither of them, nor any research I've done, suggests cars need to "settle"--they're not houses. Regardless of this apparent deflection, the issue persists on pavement, and no amount of "settling" will fix it. I've also had to return the truck because the aftermarket suspension they installed became extremely noisy over the 1900 miles I've put on it. I was told it's normal dirt (right after the car wash) causing it to creak and groan like a 1990's stock Jeep. My friends in the auto community and the one who looked at it suspect they tightened it on the lift, compressing the bushings. As a result, I'll have to pay a good local auto shop to address both the suspension and the dashboard rattle. The sales department was also unreliable, with inconsistent communication. After withdrawing money from the bank and calling to confirm a pickup time, I learned the truck had been sold, and I had to wait two more weeks. Initially, they promised a fully loaded vehicle with all accessories included as compensation. However, two weeks later, they changed their minds and charged me full price for the accessories--on a vehicle with fewer features. They also mishandled the title paperwork. When I called a week after the title was due to arrive, they reassured me it would be there in a few days. As my temporary plate neared expiration, I called again, and only then did they look into it and discover 'an error' (not 'our error' or any apology). I had to get a second temporary tag issued there. Throughout this process, communication has been sporadic, and I've had to follow up on nearly everything. This was my first time purchasing a new vehicle, and the experience has made me wish I had gone with a used one instead. Though I haven't dealt with other new car dealerships, this has been far more frustrating, sketchy and disorganized than any of my previous purchases of cheap old cars bought from used lots or private sellers in other cities. They do not seem interested in making this right. Ironically, I had a random guy in Abq send me $700 when we found out something was broken on a 2009 Kia to fix it. I wish Durango Toyota were as conscientious on a brand new truck but it's been a brutal up-hill battle that's managed to make me wish I never bought my dream car. read more

Also the front of the house and the back of the house are not in aligned. We are told to go to front desk to pick up something and get there and they have no idea that something needs to be picked up and can't find it. They have held my truck at hostage after telling me my parts and labor were covered under warranty. a week later they finally tell me warranty won't cover it and I'm liable for all repairs. Worst customer service ever. They quoted me the wrong price twice in between all this. They have refused to rectify their mistake and it all seems predatory. Legitimately horrendous company. Went to the Toyota Service Center on the 20th with a broken ac. Walked inside and asked to make an appointment. The employee behind the desk seemed like someone ate his lunch the way he was a little snappy. After telling us that he wouldn't have an opening until the 22nd we said great we're here until the 24th. After waiting for him to stare at a computer screen for about 10 minutes he looks back up and says "okay we can do an appointment at 8 on the 23rd". 23rd. Arrive on the 23rd at 8 am. Closed. Gave us confirmation that it was 8 am on the 23rd. And yet completely closed. It's relatively wild for someone to screw up at their job that incredibly horrid. Actually ridiculous. Do not ever come to make an appointment here. The customer service is poor and I can't even rate the repair since they scheduled us for a day they were never going to open. read more

Please note: this review is in regard to the SERVICE DEPARTMENT and customer service, not Sales. This dealership is beyond incompetent and is reprehensible on every possible level. I would never, ever recommend dealing with them in any capacity - spend the gas and drive to Farmington or further afield. Our saga with Durango Motor Company's Toyota department began in early 2023 with a faulty fluid exchange that was performed on one of our Tundras. As assessed by independent mechanics, they overtightened the plug in the rear diff, causing it to catastrophically fail (gushing gear oil) in a very remote part of NM. The end result was a completely trashed rear diff that required replacement. We were eventually able to trailer it to DMC for repair. After delays and so many unanswered phone calls that I was calling Toyota's actual company customer service reps on a 48hr basis with still no reply from DMC, a new (used) rear diff was installed. As we ended up discovering, during this period (that ended up lasting months) the Tundra was sitting on the DMC lot, completely unlocked. At this point, I went in in person and spoke to staff members that had no record of the initial repair order and claimed no awareness of, at times, daily calls from us and also at least three calls from Toyota itself. After reviewing the repair invoice I noticed that we were being billed for an entire rear axle assembly when it was confirmed that only the diff was replaced, at which point I went out to the truck with a DMC Toyota service representative who confirmed that no, there was no new axle - only the rear diff as previously discussed. Not only does DMC not stand behind their initial failed servicing, but they bill for items that are not installed at all. This company is a complete scam who wishes only to rip you off. At the time we owned seven Toyotas, two of which had been previously purchased from DMC and five of which we had been paying DMC to service. One of these had new struts and shocks installed in early 2023, however DMC mechanics failed to attach the replacement parts correctly to the truck frame, causing the struts to drop into the tires and cause great damage, and could have easily caused an extremely bad wreck had we not noticed the failure. DMC Toyota tried to bill us for all of the damages, but ultimately covered the (large) repair costs and new tires after they were unable to find any other explanation beside their own faulty workmanship. Unfortunately this was not the case with the aforementioned Tundra, and we were stuck paying for repairs and a part that was not ever installed ("We can give you a discount, but can't change the line on the invoice for the axle"). Please, please, never entrust this dealership with your vehicle. It could, at best, cost you thousands of dollars and months without your vehicle. Durango has many better and far more ethical independent mechanics. read more

The car was just as advertised in person and Marley went out of her way to make sure I had all angles of the car in video and pictures. She was cheery in person and hustled to detail the car as I came a bit earlier than expected and she hustled. I'll buy future Toyotas from there due to her help and their reasonable prices. Sometimes things just happen. Sigh. I brought my 2011 Prius in to be detailed. It came back both with cleaning residue and ripple damage on two doors. The driver side door was the most worrisome because, it's a foot from my face. Everytime I get in my car. It was extensive. More than a few inches by a foot. So, you guys offered to fix that, and it was fixed. Am still hanging on getting the other door fixed. Brian told me his detailer said it came in damaged. It didn't. 1. Ryan who took the car to your detailer said he noticed the damage when it came back and didn't notice it when he drove it out. 2. I had some light damage on my passenger seat and asked Ryan if it could be fixed when I brought it in. Why would I ask about fixing a minor problem and not a major problem, I explained to Brian?! 3. I stopped at Flagstaff Toyota who had their detailer look at things who explained the detailer used an air hose and had a heavy hand which causes rippling damage. He explained this shouldn't be done on an older vehicle as this risks exactly the kind of damage seen. 4. I told Brian if he looks at the security footage he'll probably see the detailer start on the driver's side where the two doors are damaged as he went from driver door to rear door and theh the passenger side. It probably would show him handling things differently on the passenger side affirming that, yes, he really did damage things on the driver side. 5. I offered to talk with the guy along with Brian. Brian said he wouldn't permit that. Ok, then maybe fix the damage?! All of it?! 6. Another place I took it to has a policy to note all damage as a car comes in. Absent this practice, shouldn't you reasonably accept responsibility and put this practice in place moving forward. I've emailed Brian 3 times since to get the rest fixed. No response. I didn't put in a dispute on the credit card used to pay for things. I didn't put you guys on blast on Yelp while I looked to work with you guys in good faith. Photos attached of damage, cleaning residue, and a part that was left wholly untouched and not cleaned. Btw, these residue photos were taken after I already took a wet napkin to clean things. I had to make a second pass. Really, I had to wipe the entire interior. Things were just sloppily done. read more

I had a horrible experience and ended up wasting a lot of time and money. I live in Albuquerque, and I saw that they had the car I wanted in their website. In fact, according to their website they had several. I confirmed the availability with the salesperson Marcos. I faxed Vanessa my trade in info documents to assure that all my ducks were in a row. She said that they were all I needed. I scheduled a test drive and went down. and spend the night in Farmngton on Sunday 9/3/2023. The company clearly had my number. They never called to say that the car had been sold on Saturday. Marcos did call the morning of my test drive to confirm the appointment. He told me they sold the vehicle but had two almost exactly like it in stock. That was not true. The vehicles he showed me were not hybrids. I lost a thousand dollars and wasted time on their lack of courtesy. Curiously, the vehicle they said they sold still show up on their website as do other vehicles they say they already sold which makes me wonder if I was the victim of a bait and switch. I looked them up. They are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau. I am still interested in a Kia, but will not be returning there and will be advising other would-be buyers I know to look elsewhere. read more

The Big D. Durango Motor Company has done me wrong for the last time. Multiple bad service & sales experiences.. I will leave the past behind on this one.. So on this visit I had called weeks in advance to make sure everything was in stock & a rental would be available as the dealership is 60+ miles away about an hours drive, I talked with Brittany on the phone she was going to call me right back with an eta on the parts not in stock. About 2-weeks later they called to get me on the books, I worked with the times and requested a loaner car as the post car I got in the mail said it would be provided I needed to get back to Pagosa Springs so I explained that. Brittany said "Bring the card in that's all you will need" Today I arrived at 9:45am to drop the car for the noon appointment and no car available no notes no nothing.. I will not buy my new Ford Edge at DMC I will be going to Ziems Ford in Farmington where they listen to the customer so they don't drive 120 miles for no reason. Said my car was done at 250000 but tried to get me to buy one of the vehicles they had at 215000 for 15000 and said my car was done. Shady people took advantage of tourist stuck in town. I bought a used 2015 Scion recently (not from Dgo Motor Co), and a half hour after driving off the lot, got an engine check light. The car had 135 k miles, but ran smooth as silk and with plenty of power. But I wanted it right, so I paid Durango Motor Company $152.00 to diagnose the problem. They told me the catalytic converter was going bad. They also did a 21 point check of the car to see if anything else needed attention. They offered to repair the cat for $1040.85, plus a $25.00 shop fee. They also pointed-out 13 other items they said needed addressing for a total of $3447.36 including the cat replacement. I went home, and started checking the car over myself (I'm a decent shade-tree mechanic). They recommended changing the cabin air filter and engine air filter for $70.00: BOTH ARE BRAND NEW! They recommended a brake fluid flush ($149.00). Brakes had just been completely rebuilt, and fluid was brand new. They recommended a front differential service, a rear differential service, an auto transmission flush, and a transfer case service for $829.80. In fact, the car DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ANY OF THESE COMPONENTS. It's a front wheel drive car with a transaxle.... One unit. NOT four different 4 wheel drive components. And the transmission fluid is bright red & smells like it should. No service on the transaxle was actually needed (service manual says "inspect" at this mileage.... not replace), but if you decided to do one just 'cause you wanted new fluid, the book says 1.1 hrs labor plus parts/fluid... should be just over $200.00 (NOT $349.95 as they recommended. They wanted $195.00 to replace the serpentine belt. The one that's in it is obviously brand new. They recommended plug replacement for $202.00. The car runs, as I said, smooth as silk, and the manual does NOT recommend replacement at this mileage. And it's clear from lack of tool marks they did NO plug inspection to check physical condition. They recommended a coolant flush for $220.00. Coolant was at appropriate level, clean, and smelled right. No leaks in system. Manual says "inspect". They just wanted to replace. They recommended a throttle body service and "induction flush" for $328.51. Manual doesn't even recommend inspection at this point, unless you are having performance and/or mileage issues. Car is running like a top. Nothing to indicate service needed. The service they said the car needed for a mere $2381.51 OVER the cost of replacing the defective cat, would have been more likely to be recommended for my 2001 Tundra with 283,000 miles on it. At least my Tundra actually HAS the components they were going to charge me to service. I'd have thought they gave me the recommendation sheet for some other customer's car by mistake... but in fact, the car's VIN is prominently displayed on it. I don't know if I can actually file a consumer affairs complaint with the Attorney General's office without actually having contracted the work and been defrauded, but I'm going to look into it. Someone with less mechanical know-how and experience could be taken to the cleaners by these guys. read more

Their mobile service was launched at a time when there is no infrastructure to support it. The folks at Service don't even know it exists, even though they started it two months ago. The left hand has no idea what the right one is doing. No way to run a customer-oriented business. They're just great at selling you a car, but have no expectations beyond that. None whatsoever. If I could leave DMC negative stars, I would. I'm a young female who was going to Fort Lewis College at the time I needed a new car. My Jeep completely broke down on me unexpectedly at work, so I made my way to DMC because I had heard good things. Boy, was that one of the worst choices I've ever made in my life. I ended up getting a 2015 Ford Escape off the lot. I love this car. How it looks, how it drives, the technology, I just love it. But.... I wish I had gone anywhere else in the country to buy it. I checked the oil right when I took it off the lot and there was virtually none in the car. I called and they sent a guy to check to make sure, and he said that there was oil. He quit the next day for some reason. This part of the story will continue at the end of this review.:) I went back to work as a delivery driver.... The day after I bought the car, it completely broke down on me while I was driving on the highway, while at work. I had to call in, miss my shift, and getting my car home was another disaster in itself. I called DMC about it and they essentially brushed me off because, "it just came off the lot, and we checked everything!" I took it in and they continuously asked me, "well are you driving it right?" Like? Seriously? They actually had me drive them around the lot so they could "check my driving skills." They then poured some fluid into it like it would fix the problem, and charged me $200. Well, as you probably guessed, it didn't fix the problem. I brought it back in and they ACTUALLY looked at the car this time. Turns out they had to replace the ENTIRE transmission. So here I am, a poor college student who is now missing tons of work because they sold me a faulty car, and I had to deal with the hassle of getting to class without a car. My car was in the shop for weeks longer than they had said originally. I was also not refunded the $200 they had charged me for this "magical fluid" that didn't work. After they replaced my transmission, I was getting about 13 miles a gallon. Even though my car tells me my mpg, I still took pictures of the mileage with time stamps so I could prove it to these people, with math, since they tend to not believe young females. I went in numerous times, and called them a lot about this problem and they still wouldn't help me. So what did I do? I took my car to Grease Monkey. What did the man at Grease Monkey say??? Well, he told me that my car had no oil in it and it looked like it hadn't been changed in about a year. I bought the car only two months prior and had actually been driving the car for about a month due to it being in the shop for so long. After my oil was changed, I all of a sudden started getting about 22mpg..... Hmmmmm interesting. So, moral of the story, DMC SUCKS, they don't check the cars before they sell them to you, and they continuously lie about even touching your car when you take it in. -5 stars. If they reach out to me, I will gladly give the name of the man who caused most of this. Very disappointed in my first dealership experience. Sad that I had to write a bad review because I'm a very patient and flexible person. This was absolutely ridiculous though. It cost me a lot of time, money, and tears.
