Fine by me since Corvettes may as well be made by a different company. Anyway, through a series of phone calls, I was referred to Mountain Auto Care. From the moment I spoke to Don on the phone, and later Ed, I was very pleased with their knowledge, professionalism, and honesty. They were polite and listened to what I had to say concerning why I was bringing the car in, and understood where to look for problems. They also kept me informed about the progress and made recommendations. Plus, they got the work done in a reasonable amount of time and their pricing is fair. Also, they went out of their way to pick me up and bring me back when I ended up having to get additional parts and bring the car back in a week later. This was very kind of them considering how busy they are. Overall, I am grateful to know such auto professionals exist here, and will definitely be bringing my car back the next time it needs service.

Amazingly, we were able to coast into the Autoworks parking lot, where Dennis and his team immediately brought the car in to run computer diagnostic tests, and stayed after hours, right before a holiday weekend, to make sure we could operate the vehicle safely. They also offered to open up early after the holiday to check out our car before we got back on the highway for a 14 hour drive. After coming back from the Silverton train ride around 230pm on a Friday, I tried to start my car and it just wouldn't give. After calling around all the local shops, everyone basically told me nothing is open on weekends and they were booked till earliest mid week of the following week. When I called Durango Car Care, I told them my situation and they told me they'd try and look at it if I got there before they close but no guarantees they would be able to fix it on time. AAA came around 4pm and got me to the shop around 430pm. The guys stopped what they were working on and tried to troubleshoot my car. After about 15 minutes, they got it working again!!! They didn't have to do any of that! This literally brought my faith back in humanity! The kindest guys and angels to me that day!! I am so so thankful to them and my AAA guy Daylon. Hands down would recommend these guys!!

While traveling I noticed my brakes in my van making a grinding noise when I stopped. I dropped in…read moreon Monday around 11 am and CJ said he couldn't get me in until 2:30 so I left and came back. (meanwhile I stopped by a muffler and brake shop and was told they could get me in NEXT Monday). When I returned, CJ got my van in as promised, diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts and had me out the door shortly after 5:30 and the price was entirely reasonable. I worked from the waiting room via their free wifi and over the course of the day overheard the way CJ treated his customers... always with respect and honesty. I heard him say, "You don't owe me anything for checking it out, just bring it back when it has something that needs to be fixed." That is how you build a great customer base. Honest work at decent prices.

Since I'd already done my homework, I'd assumed that there wasn't any wiggle room for them not to warranty the cooling system after complete. At this, the guy got upset and told me to leave. After leaving, I spoke to a friend who told me their 'service' sucks - so I write this to let you know I'd had a terrible experience and would not recommend. I don't care how good their mechanics might be. If the guy up front is not the owner, he should be fired.

They called to say the bolts under my car were sheering off from rust and all of them would need to be replaced along with my rotors and control arms with a starting estimate of $6k just to get the car functional, not replacing all the rotors. I had a weird feeling so I checked yelp. After reading previous reviews about the same issues, I had my car towed to another shop where they told me the bolts were completely fine and charged me only $2000 for the work I needed done (alignment, brake pads, the new rotors and control arms!) including replacing the bolts Built to Last sheared off. Additionally, BTL overtightened the bolt on my oil tank crushing the nut and causing the oil change I paid them for to leak out all over my driveway. I wanted to like this place since a friend had recommended but it just felt sketchy

We took our vehicle in for an alignment and were quoted $220 for the work. Later, we were informed…read morethat the eccentric bolts were stripped and had to be replaced before they could align it--$1470. We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2024 and no repairs had ever been done to it, so how did those bolts get stripped? The technician at Built to Last was the ONLY person to have ever tried to loosen them. We got two other estimates, from two other local repair shops, and they both came it at around $350 for the bolt replacements and the alignment, both. We believe that the tech at Built to Last stripped those bolts and the shop was asking us to pay for the repair--at a highly inflated price. I posted a review to their website and it has disappeared, so they refused to post it. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews for Built to Last before I took our vehicle in, but the only negative reviews are several years old, and they are VERY NEGATIVE, so I'm suspicious that this shop is deleting any current negative reviews. BEWARE! Get a second opinion.
