I've had this place bookmarked for forever and was super excited when I realized I'd be in the area and could finally check it out. You can either order via walk-in or drive through. I opted to do the drive through as I didn't see any available street parking right in front of the ice cream shop. Luckily the drive through line was very short when I came by Tuesday evening around 6 pm. The first confusing thing for me was how to get into the drive through line, as I was coming from the wrong direction. There were no signs for this. Eventually I pulled up and asked one of the workers, and she said the drive through line entrance is on Neal St, coming from the First St direction. The second confusing thing was that there wasn't much of a menu for the drive through. There's just one small sign with a list of their everyday flavors and another one with some new flavors listed, but that was it. It was a spontaneous decision to come here, but had I known, I would've done more research on available flavors. No prices were listed either. After coming, I looked on their IG page and saw a bunch more flavors featured that would've been fun to try. Oh well. I ended up going the most basic route with a small vanilla soft serve. It was ready for me when I pulled up to the inside. The vanilla soft serve was delicious! I'm used to "lighter" soft serves from the fast food chains, but the ice cream here is creamier and more dense, which I absolutely loved. It felt like it had more substance to it. Plus you can't beat the price! It was only $3.50 for a small, which was already very large.

The service was great, delivered the ice cream to the table. I ordered the Black&White with Peanuts, wonderful. The ice cream is solid, yet super soft when eating, the best! Everything was delicious. I haven't been here since I was a kid because we moved away, but was able to take my daughter and she loved it!

The staff were friendly and the service was pleasant, making it a great place to stop by for a sweet treat. The ube was definitely the highlight. It had a deliciously rich, creamy flavor with just the right amount of sweetness, and it tasted wonderfully authentic. The ube soft serve was smooth and satisfying, and the combination with the warm taiyaki made it even better. If you love ube, Somi Somi Dublin is definitely worth visiting.

Somisomi in Pleasanton!…read more I LOVE Somisomi and this was the closest one to us (being 20 minutes away) so we had to stop by for a sweet treat. You know it's serious when you are willing to take a 20 min drive over just for ice cream but it was well worth it. There was a ton of parking spaces at the parking lot in the plaza that this biz was located in. The space was bright and clean, and the staff was super helpful. We love how they rotate their flavors. We got the soft serve in the cup and with the taiyaki. They are all about the banana flavor right now so we got the soft serve mix with that and the cookies and cream. It was really good! Can't wait to come to somisomi again the next time we're in town.

The almond flavor was very present, which we liked. There were also little almond bits. The texture of the gelato itself was creamy and smooth. It did melt really quickly though. Even when we were first handed the cup, it was already melting. That's the only thing I wished was different. This was my first time here so I could only speak from this one experience. Maybe it was just this day. Otherwise, we loved it!

They were kind enough to tell me which seasonal drinks I could adjust to oat milk, and the rest you can adjust the sweetness and add toppings for an extra charge. I tried their Snoopy Chocolate Hazelnut Matcha Latte with oat milk, less sweetness, and less ice. There was a strong Nutella flavor with good consistency, but the matcha wasn't strong enough for me when I didn't mix it. I even got myself a Snoopy matcha plush keychain as my birthday gift for $18, which is pricey but durable enough to hang on your bag. It's a pretty small shop, yet it's covered in cute and colorful decor. Plus, the tables are clean since most customers usually wait for their drinks and leave rather than sit down.

It was a nice treat, but it doesn't quite measure up to the soft-serve I can get at the local dairy. It's an okay spot if you're nearby and in the mood for a classic fast-food style cone, but if you're looking for good quality, you might want to look elsewhere.

I had never visited this location before. Walking in, the ambiance wasn't giving me the warm fuzzies like the other well-lit Loard's locations did. It's pretty dim with only one window emitting any light from outside. It still has it's pink and white interior, but it doesn't scream "ice cream shop." One thing that stood out to me was the menu. It appeared they might've updated several of their prices with the edits marked all over it. It just looks tacky, but I understand that making a new sign can be costly. Hopefully in the near future this could be given a nice facelift. We ordered a scoop of ube, a scoop of toasted almond, and a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Unfortunately you couldn't eat indoors so we stood outside the shop and hurried to eat the ice cream before it melted. Would I come back here again? Maybe, but I prefer the Castro Valley location more as it just gives more of the feels of an actual ice cream shop and it's got a pleasant vibe to it.
