Dip and Sip is a bit hidden, tucked in a corner. I made it in right before they closed. Their menu had a variety of donuts to choose from. Being the first time there, I wasn't sure how it worked. Could I order only what's in the display or were there some in the back? The man working there was super nice and helpful. He advised me that I can choose from the menu and he will make it in the back. I went with the Mexican hot chocolate donut. The first bite was into a crisp exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. The combo of glaze and cream was slightly sweeter than I'd like, but perfectly complimented my black cold brew coffee. This is my favorite local donut spot right now! I love all of the fun flavors and they are beautifully decorated. My favorites are the Boston creme and the apple cider. They also have a "donut bar" where you can pick your own flavor and toppings. There are a few tables in there and it's decorated really cute. It is pricey but it's worth it! read more

I stopped in here a few hours before closing. The place was pretty quiet and drab but it did have a small flow of customers. I can see why after eating the donuts, they were on point. I had the Elvis which was amazing, that banana cream was just perfect. The flavor on my other special donut was great as well, it wasn't specified but I think it was a Blueberry glaze with gold sprinkles and color! Hey, they're pretty good! I learned of Dip and Sip by happenstance whilst driving through Glenview. They have a kind of retro vibe going on here and the owners are definitely Beatles fans. The epitome of mom and pop, I think they hand dip donuts to order. The man who took my order was really friendly and his good mood was infectious. They have a selection of "classics", of which my favorite is the maple frosted, as well as some specialty donuts. The specialty ones don't interest me nearly as much as the classic ones, which they do beautifully. I also picked up a breakfast sandwich, which was really good, one of the best I've had in a long time. The biscuit was delish and it really hit the spot. They have some seating here but happily they also take orders online for pickup... supposedly. I've tried to order on a couple different days, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, and they were not accepting online orders either time. Dip and Sip Donuts reminds me of a more mom and pop version of Firecakes Donuts. The shop is a nice size to accommodate parties of all sizes. I love the pop of color throughout the restaurant. It is the perfect family friendly place! They have niche donuts that range from fruity pebbles, bacon, classic donuts with sprinkles, etc. It was fun looking at the different gourmet donuts. This is now my favorite donut place in the area by a good margin. They're all fresh, made to order / in-house, and there's a wide selection you can choose from. I am not a fan of crazy amount of toppings, so I decided to keep my order simple and ordered the Classic, Apple Cider, and Pumpkin Spice donuts. You can order the Pumpkin Spice with cinnamon sugar or with a homemade glaze; I tried both and I highly recommend getting the one with the glaze. The glazed Pumpkin Spice donut and the Apple Cider donut were my favorites and were just delicious. I also bought dog treats - 3 small shaped "donuts" made from flour, peanut butter, eggs and another ingredient I forgot (but my dog loved these!) I wanted to like it more. Cute interior with an extensive list of donut options and coffee drinks. There's also a few breakfast sandwich choices. After you place your order, your donuts are boxed together in the back. The donuts were heavily over fried and a bit greasy. We tried the vanilla with sprinkles, s'mores, Boston Creme, and maple bacon, and while the toppings were nice, the fry factor overtook everything. I was looking forward to my iced coffee too, but it did a number on my stomach both the afternoon I had some and the morning after. This place has so many great reviews and I really wanted to love this place. But...I ordered a lemon pistachio donut. I was expecting the frosting to be a little more solidified than it was. I understand these are freshly dipped but the frosting is very goopy and super sweet. I know its a donut but the sweet balance is important. But the worse part is the donut itself. I could literally taste the oil and it tasted old and stale. The first bite wasn't as obvious so I tried a second bite in hopes I would like it more but I almost spit it out. But please keep in mind that I live near Alegretti's which has THE BEST DONUTS ANYWHERE so my standards are probably higher than most. The coffee was fine but it did taste slightly burnt. This is a brand new small business and a former Boba space and I was very excited to try it as I love donuts. Came here on a random Saturday afternoon and luckily there was no wait and no line and everything on the menu that was on the chalkboard was available as they stated they make it fresh by the order. So there was a little bit of a wait time, which is OK You can order ahead of time for pick up which I found out because I saw other customers coming in for that purpose. The place is super cute and decorated so definitely taking photos and posting on your social media. I'm sure this was done on purpose. It is located parking in a strip mall and their neighbors in the strip mall are empty and vacated so parking is ample. After my order was called out loud the employee walked away as we were seated, and we came up to the counter to pick it up and as I was inspecting the box because it was so beautiful and it's presentation a different employee older gentleman came up and thanked us for our business. Somewhere between a cake and a yeast donut is Dip & Sip and I'm here for it. I host a group on weekends that's been mostly virtual since 2020. For a rare in person meetup, I decided on Dip & Sip for two reasons - locally owned small business and order ahead. They have traditional and fancy donuts, most of the fancy ones are lost on me. I'm a purist, but I did cave and pickup a Mexican chocolate one for later. I personally tried a maple glazed and The Mexican chocolate and the maple was my favorite of the two; the Mexican chocolate was more cinnamony than chocolatey. Overall, the donuts were a hit with the group. Someone even commented how much better they were than something mass produced like DD. Ordering ahead and pickup was super easy. I knew there was a solid chance I'd be running late and was able to pop in and grab my order off the pickup rack and be on my merry way. Bottom line, I'm a fan and would happy to support this small business again. read more

This place puts out a delish donut, and great holiday drops for donuts. But the one thing they are severely lacking is staff & organization. On the two occasions I have ordered online for curbside pickup, the order has NEVER been on the shelf or on time for an easy pickup, trying to get the attention of a staff member to even ask a question is challenging. And I waited as my order was made after two attempts to ask the ladies where it was....and have been met with "theres only three of us" and it's Valentine's Day. It's clear they cannot meet the demands. And at one point there were 7 people waiting for orders. It's on a corner so you can find it if you're looking for it but you can pass b it for sure if you're not looking. Some of the highlights are All You Need is Bacon, Mexican Hot Chocolate and Grandmas Annie's Boston Crème!! All of these were fresh and good to go! Not you're traditional doughnut... should be the name of the shop. Though the current name is cute it's extremely misleading...there is NO way you could "dip & sip" ANY of the Signature doughnuts with all the heavy frostings and toppings...not saying it's necessarily a bad thing. You're signature doughnuts were beyond indulgent!!!!! First of all...I've never experienced such a fresh doughnut in my life it literally felt that it was made right then and there. Ridiculously tender, and light as a cloud...so kudos to that recipe!!!! The strawberry had a very generous amount of lovely pink frosting on it...but there was virtually no strawberry flavor which was a disappointment. The same could be said for the John Lennon Pistachio which once again generously decorated just extremely lacking in flavor of lemon. Unfortunately the Mexican Hot Chocolate which also was generously frosted and topped with an expresso bean had NO flavor at all minus a hint of chocolate. The Teddy bear s'mores was good because you literally put a whole marshmallow on top which brought it home. The Elvis was once again over frosted but the banana really came through. Cute little shop in Roscoe Village but the donuts are just okay. They are dipped fresh to order and there are some fun options but we thought that they were all so so. We tried a variety- original glazed, vanilla sprinkle, pistachio lemon, strawberry frosted, and Boston cream. I wish the pistachio was more tart and lemony and less sweet.
