I had no intention of eating all three at the same time. Loved the top two layers of the raspberry dessert. Would have preferred the bottom to be soft vs the chocolate crunch. In fact, it was so hard I could barely get my fork through. I took a bite of the double chocolate gluten free cookie. Kind of like a shortbread cookie with filling. Not much to say about this. I like gluten. A chocolate chip cookie. Not a tough one. It was dry and I swear it was sitting in that jar for 4 days. Total bummer. I threw it away. The piece of cake and coffee came right away to counter. I sat down. Then about 5 minutes passed and my two cookies just showed up. I went back up to ask the guy at counter for them. Wouldn't you think he could have brought to me since it was not busy and he made me wait or maybe just forgot about me. It is time to repaint and tidy up. As for the baked goods. Needs a major step up to make it. If I can't get a chocolate chip cookie that I would eat. Total loss. I pride myself of being positive for reviews. I just can't with this one.

I inquired of staff that if they're always sold out why they don't just make more With attitude she said to me "well we always sell out at seven in the morning." I was then informed, that if they made more, they would just sell out at 7 AM anyhow, and that I should show up before 7 AM to get in line before they open. If you regularly run out of a product, a smart business person would make more. Overall, when I've had them their products are good. The breads and pastries are awesome However, the snarky attitude from the staff is unacceptable. I will definitely minimize the number of times I come to the store because of their frequent morning stockouts on products.

Love me a good cafe/bakery!…read more Going in there had a line and the line didn't particular take too long. It seemed like they ran out a lot of their fresh bakery items, but there still was a lot to choose from. My friend bought a sourdough loaf & it was gorgeous! We didn't get to try it, but it looked good. I bought a chocolate chip cookie, 1 chocolate croissant, 1 plain croissant, 1 ham and cheese croissant, no pics listed below. - Their croissants are honestly really good, crispy and flaky. - The chocolate chip cookie was like a generic chocolate cookie, nothing rly special about it. Also bought their brioche sandwich and I think it's overpriced for what it's worth. I think it had like their signature jam or something on it with a egg & bacon, it was $12. It's a tad bit pricy for something so basic. Overall, their service was fast. Their employees were nice and their ambiance was fun. I love me some fresh baked goods. I'd go back for more croissants!

You might have actually eaten some of their creations without realizing it - they are the cookie supplier to Intelligentsia coffee shops! Intelligentsia currently does not carry the chocolate ones but perhaps if enough people read this review and make the suggestion to management, we can bring about a cookie revolution. I promise it will be well worth the effort. If you visit their website, they have a bunch of gift options available, too. Please bring back the old version of COCO BREW. I'm begging…read more I've been a regular since they first opened a few years ago, I think around 2019? Their Coco Brew used to be one of my absolute favorite coffee drinks for years, up until recently. I'm not exactly sure when the recipe changed, because as far as I remember it still tasted the same through 2025. I've been busy this year and haven't come as often, but the last three times I ordered it, it was completely different. And since it was made by different baristas, I'm assuming this is a recipe change rather than just inconsistency. (Check the photos to see the differences!) The old version was much lighter, mildly sweet, and had that lovely coconut milk aroma. It tasted fresh, smooth, and really balanced. The new version is totally different. The first thing I noticed was the color. It's way darker now. And the taste matches: darker, more sour, and with a strange almost medicinal aftertaste (reminded of some cough medicine..) The gentle sweetness and mildness are completely gone. Now it somehow tastes strong, sour, and watery at the same time. What happened?? Please don't change something that was already so good. Even the ice seems different now. It used to have smaller ice pieces that filled the cup more evenly and let the liquid move through, so you got that really pretty layered look with the coconut milk and cold brew. Now it's large chunks of ice just floating on top. Anyway, this is just my little heartbreak over a drink that used to be so beautiful and delightful. Other than that, the vibe is still nice as usual, maybe a bit more crowded than before. The decor is still cute, and I've always liked the woody interior. It's also one of the brighter coffee shops in Evanston, with really nice natural light.

The second order was a 9 pack specifically for my wife's birthday. When I went to pick the cookies up I was given 4 boxes each with an individual receipt attached which I imagined was the contents. I took the cookies and dropped off all of them in our break room except the box with the receipt for the separate order for my wife's birthday which listed her cookies. My office loved the cookies a they were gone within a couple hours. Unfortunately when I got home and opened the box showing my wife's cookies it did not contain a single cookie she eats. The separate orders had been combined and the receipts did not correctly reflect the contents of the two orders. Sadly her disappointment was visible. I went out of my way the next day to go back and purchase a new box of cookies with what she had wanted. Note: Cash Only I…read morewas so excited to try Panaderia Evita, I put it on my calendar to not forget. While they have some things going for them, the experience ended up falling a little below expectations. Walking in, you're greeted by the smell of fresh baked goods. The setup is similar to Paris Baguette where you grab a pair of tongs and a tray, and then grab anything you want. Therein lies complaint #1: Other than small price stickers that some amy needs reading glasses for, there are no labels of any kind as to what it what. I can recognize a donut (at least I think so), but with the rest, I couldn't even tell if they were sweet or savory. I grabbed three different pastries, including one that was recommended by the clerk. With half an exception, the feedback is generally the same. This is complaint #2: Except for the one that had a softer, yellower center, the dough was firm with very little give. There's nothing wrong with a little crispness, but in this case, there wasn't much (if any) flakiness. With all of this said, while I am open to returning and trying some more items, I don't see myself breaking down the door to come back or recommending this spot to friends and family.

The inside is spacious and clean not much investment into the decor but the food makes up for it. There are a ton of bakeries along the same block but the pastries from Panaderia Evita stand out from the rest. The homemade donuts are unbelievable! Pastries from the sugar donuts to the Conchas are so sweet and fluffy. I have yet to have a bad pastry from Panaderia Evita! I highly recommend trying the donuts because they're so fluffy and test so fresh. I haven't had a fresh donut like the ones at Panaderia Evita even at places dedicated to donuts.
