Diosa was a fun experience, everything was very aesthetic and the drinks were amazing. The food was pretty good and the service was very friendly. However towards the end of our meal we had a cockroach crawling over our booth seat and the table next to us saw it as well. Ruined the whole experience for me. I might still go back to a drink in the future but for $20 a drink ... idk maybe not. When you're paying that much there shouldn't be a roach in sight. read more

Very cool spot. With good music and great spirit selection. Definitely like the vibe. I haven't tried the food yet, but I bet it's good. I like the old fashioned vintage. Presentation is key. The Mezcal Old Fashioned is to sweet for me. The reason for the three stars is the hospitality. Didn't get greeted while entering Took about 10 min to get acknowledged at the bar. Bartenders should engage more with guest. Especially the ones making drinks definitely could engage more sale more alcohol. I was going to rate a flat three, but the cool bartender made up for it. Drinks were good, I asked for sparkling water and y'all had Voss. I asked for limes, and this is why you are getting the 4 stars instead of three stars. The Bartender cut fresh limes wedges for my sparkling . Thank you bartender. Beautiful and awesome spot and to top it off!!! Great music too. read more

We wanted to try something local for a change. Unfortunately, this place was a complete let down. High prices, mediocre service. Under stuffed. Our waitress was incredibly sweet but she rarely checked on us. Drinks took too long. People at the bar arrived and order drinks after us and received their drinks before us. The drinks were also just alright. The skinny margarita tasted like lemon juice. I would compare them to Javiers ambiance but higher prices, lowers food quality and the restrooms were dirty. We ordered: Tiera y Mar, pállela, chips and salsa and lobster ceviche. Dinner was ok, definitely not worth the price. Chips and salsa were not great. Only recommend the red salsa. This place is about aesthetics but the lacks execution. If you just try, I would recommend eating at the bar and only ordering off the happy hour menu. Otherwise, it's incredibly over priced. read more

After speaking with the manager, he invited me back to Diosa & was very apologetic about my experience. I love that he took accountability and didn't make any excuses & said they'd work on it. I went in on Friday & it was super packed but I had reservations. We were seated right away. The service was 100% better. We were greeted, given water and our drinks came in the same time. I would like to mention the drinks are very consistent. Many times I have gone to a restaurant & after 2-3 drinks, they start tasting too sweet. Here I did not experience that. The drinks were 10/10. Also, second time ordering the Del Mar enchiladas. They are by the far the best enchiladas I have ever had. read more

Welcome to Downey DIOSA! Let me start off by saying we definitely needed something this elegant in town. I absolutely loved my experience today. This place has Tequila Goddesses serving up Margaritas any way you'd like... they can make them strong, salty, spicy, fruity and all of it is table side... what a great idea! I had the queso fundido w/ chorizo, rib eye and churros foster. The queso was delicious great flavor and good quality cheese.. you have the option to add chorizo and of course I did (I'm sure it would taste wonderful without it vegetarian)... rib eye was fire!! Good seasoning and it came with some poblano mashed potatoes.. let me just tell you those mashed potatoes will be something I'm coming back for, they were sooo good never had anything like them. The best for last ... drumroll please.... The churros foster was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. The presentation alone is something you don't see around here. Oh and I had a mock tail not sure what the name was but it was so cute :) read more

Everything is over price, drinks taste more like juice than alcohol, service take too long and if you request a drink they don't have it or can't do it. Not what I expected. I wanted to give this place a try because of the hype of the social media but it not worth it. Food taste like any other Mexican place. To spend $800 of this is not worth, not even West Hollywood has these prices. read more

5 stars for the decor inside, 5 stars for our server - she was awesome. Drinks were great on presentation but just okay. Food lacked flavor. 3 of us had the enchilada poblanas. Meat was mushy, didn't taste like enchiladas. All three didn't like them. I had the steak arrechera. The quality of the meat was good but it didn't have flavor. I tried to mix in the street corn but it didn't help, tons of onions not enough taste. I wish I would have asked for salsa. We ordered the table side churros.., another disappointment. The churros were hard and we couldn't eat them with the spoons given. So after drinks, appetizers, dessert and watered down coffee our bill was pretty hefty. The icing on the cake was when a host came and said we needed to leave because we had already been there 2 hours. Wasn't nice about it and was pretty insulting considering we hadn't received our bill and weren't told we were on a time limit. Gorgeous place but needs some work.., read more

Horrible for an anniversary. I requested a surprise dessert and received NOTHING. The first server was great. Once (Josue) left for his break, the replacement just ghosted us. Worst service for an upscale, overpriced restaurant. Who also charges you a surcharge fee. I'm all about service - customer service and their name Diosa who translates to a goddess, is not the treatment you receive as a patron. Ref. This is a new place in Downey and I couldn't wait to try it. Not a place I would go to often but definitely for a special occasion. Atmosphere, food and service was great. Everyone was kind and welcoming. read more

overall, i had a pleasant experience at diosa. firstly, the food is pretty hit or miss. for appetizers, my table had the smoked guac and the taquitos camarones. the guac was good but a little to salty for my palate, and the taquitos were okay. for my main dish, i ordered the octopus zarandeados. the aioli and the vegetables were my favorite part of the dish- very tasty and flavorful! however, i didn't care too much for the octopus because it seemed like it was cooked unevenly, so the texture was perfect for some bites but not all. the only flavors that i got from the octopus were salty and spicy. after tasting some of my friend's food, i couldn't help but feel like i ordered the wrong dish (i recommend the coco risotto salmon!). for dessert, my table shared the churros foster. verrrry delicious. however despite most of the food being pretty good, none of the dishes had ANY business costing over 35$ at most. kinda ridiculous :/ i don't have too much to say about the service- our waitress was very kind and helpful! the people who bring the food to your table aren't necessarily friendly though. the hostesses are nice. lastly- the atmosphere. i was honestly kinda underwhelmed by everything! the decor and interior is very lackluster and the black and white theme is sadly a bore. with a name like "diosa", i was expecting the scenery to be more elegant and decorative rather than just a plain black and white theme with the occasional gold accents. however, i will say that the entrance is beautiful. the decorative sofas and the melted candle scenes were right up my alley. i wish they would've stuck with that ambiance for the entirety of the restaurant. would i come here again? prolly not. but it was a fun experience nonetheless. if you ever wanna try this place, i say go for it! but prepare yourself for an empty wallet at the end of the night. read more

I came in this past Saturday for my birthday with 5 other guests. Our reservation was for 8:15 there was maybe a person or 2 waiting when we arrived but I did make it a pint to say I wanted a booth and or somewhere with a good view of the restaurant. They say us right in between the large party private room and the bar ... which means my pregnant sister and my two brother in laws were constantly bumped into as pp went to and from, we had no view of anything Where we could see no ambiance, not even 20 min a couple came in and sat at a large booth. I wouldve liked the option to wait and get what ibreally wanted a booth bc the eay our table was set up was as if it was a makeshift setting to accommodate us, when i made our reservation a month in advance Our waitier finally came out and was super nice but was always MIA. Gone for more that 25 mins at a time constantly leaving everyone with empty water glasses and our apps and drinks from the bar that we were so close to taking more than 45 min to receive. My guest were very patient but was starting to doubt me bc at this point we don't have a good seat, looking at only the back of the bars pps body's and the curtains to the closed room, and no food or drinks and have now ran out of water ...which I raved about how beautiful this place was and the presentation of it all. My husband had to request a pitcher of water from a bus boy just to keep us hydrated. My brother in law goes to the RR and there is a mess in the unoccupied stall as if some one was sick and no one from hospitality had cleanes up for a while. our food finally came out and when a few guest asked for sauces and or anything in addition. The wait staff never returned only to see our waiter at my last few bites and by then my food was cold. We spent upwards of $425 and all we could do was wonder if the experience had better would it have been worth it . I would greatly appreciate a follow up as we arrived there at 8:15 and did till after 10:30pm . read more

3 stars strictly because the food was good. Once we were sat, the waiter did actually bring out a birthday shot which was cool. The waiter suggest a cocktail that contained Tequila & Mezcal which was good! After the rest of the party arrived to the table we ordered our food. A lady walked from table to table offering a shot, she had a cart with different liquors. What was shady is that after pouring the shot she then explained that it cannot be added to the bill and needed to be paid on the spot separately. Never been to an establishment or would ever think one with this one's interior decor would have that way to generate more business I'm assuming. The wait time wasn't bad by any-means. Once the food arrived the waiter never checked in: asking how everything taste. The manger did come half way to a third of the way finished eating to see how everything taste. Only to find out she wasn't the manager after explaining the separate shot seemed shady. She said she'd get the manger however the manager never came out. After eating we waited at the host area for an additional 10mins for the manger, made eye contact after finding out who it was and they walked away after making eye contact! This one is just a personal trigger but none of the staff say you're welcome, my pleasure, etc after saying thank you. The food and drinks are great but the service needs improvement. I don't intend on going back for a good while. read more

So my girlfriend has been trying to get me Downey for some good eats with this restaurant. Unfortunately, the hype is all it is. The restaurant itself is located in a shopping center next to a CVS, they offer "valet" but a few steps literally, in the same next spaces for cvs or other stores located next, you can avoid the ridiculous parking fee. I am a foodie and will pay for the services and what's worth it; this place unfortunately does not make the cut of "sophisticated dining" or worth 300 dollar tab for mediocre food. Food was very average nothing to rave about, I will say the guacamole was my favorite but honestly the 6 little tiny chips they give you for almost a 30 dollar guac and chips was laughable and they do add a surcharge if you ask for more chips. Drinks were so overpriced, drinks are good the "presentation is what they try to sell here" -Just no. Ambience is more like a night club. Super obnoxiously loud and the tequila cart ladies that don't let you eat in peace that come around every so often to somehow, poor you a shot??! I missed the memo when that became a "thing". Service was average the ladies upfront were a little uptight and rude as we checked in for our reservations and waited at least 20 minutes after our reservation time, when I asked about our table they were dismissive and not friendly at all. I can't even make an excuse for this place will never go back to this hyped up wanna be Javier's. Just No! read more

First time here for a friends birthday, the drinks were delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The food was expensive along with the appetizers. The only thing was the service, it took a while to be approached so we decided to order drinks, appetizers and entrees at once. To get the check took a looong time and had to be asked for two times. Other than that, the front desk was incredibly nice and welcoming and the food was delicious! read more

I'm giving 2 stars for the atmosphere, it's a very beautiful restaurant that's the only reason I will maaayyybbbee come back. I'm sorry for writing a not so great review but if your going to charge Javier's prices then live up to Javier's quality. The food was not great and the service couldn't keep up with the crowd. Also I was in a group of 5 and we all got our entrees at different times the last person got their plate a whole 15min after the 1st person did so by the time we all started eating it everyone's food was cold. All The waiter said was I'm sorry that's how they do things here it's their system I'm sorry what?!?!? But hey the drinks are delicious if you want good drinks and a great atmosphere and to spend a shit load of money then I guess this is your place. Oh and this is Downey people! read more

The food was great and so was the service! The waiter was kind enough to give my daughter a fogger with her virgin margarita and she very much loved that, she won't stop living it down and constantly asks to go back. The waiter also gave her a complementary ice cream, which was very kind. They were very patient with our party of three being that we had a child with us, the kids menu also has great options and prices! The adult menu is even better lol I expected a very gentrified meal. However, the flavoring was up to par and were the portions. read more

Diosa is definitely a whole vibe and I'm here for it! Their customer service and attention to detail is second to none. Emily was our server and she was incredible. If you're looking for a chic, pretty place with a cool menu. The drink menu has a unique and funny twist. I had the Coco Channel pretty tasty but a little on the sweet side. The food was good, but overall, everything is overpriced. Our service was just ok... Dined in on a Sunday, and it was pretty slow. Our food came separate. We had to wait another 15-20 minutes for a simple enchiladas plate. We celebrated a birthday, and that was pretty awesome! They give you a menu with a cool quote, champagne shot, and ice cream. The coolest part is obviously the keepsake menu part! read more

Service was ok. I had a reservation and got seated accordingly. For the price of the food, the food quality was not up to standard. I wouldn't mind the price of the food if the food was actually good. The drinks are great and the restaurant is nice. For a place like this it is loud inside for some reason. Would maybe go back for the drinks but not the food. Shots are overly price for mid tier liquor. They barely have appetizers. The empanadas are good. Steak was low standard to what I was expecting. Don't expect much going there because of the price. You don't get what you pay for here read more

I ate here the other day with friends and felt I should leave a review as I really love the location, the decor and the menu. However, the food was extremely and uncomfortably salty. The ambience is spectacular the menu items are well mixed with surf and turf options. Control because this would make a big difference. I do not plan to return due to the high salt contents on the food, my food with inedible. read more

Had my first experience at DIOSA and I have to give this place a 5 star rating from the food to the excellent service. The managers and servers were top notch and very professional. Paulina our 6ft goddess was amazing at what she does. Fellas if you enjoy fantastic food along with good drinks and better views (if you know what I mean) hit this place up. I will definitely be going back to DIOSA.... I also wanted to include Sherryl one of the managers who visited our table several times to make sure we were taken care of. I would have to say DIOSA by far has the best of everything from the ambiance to the food the service which makes this a 5 star. We need a DIOSA on the Westside so o don't have to drive all the way to Downey but until then I have a reason to visit downey! read more
