I brought my cousin to Diosa so we can try it out. The place is beautiful and the food and drinks were delicious, also the waitress was attentive but the only bad thing was that the table was a bit small and we ordered a lot of food. I still recommend the restaurant just to get the fancy experience. read more

I came here for Mother's day yesterday and had a really nice time. I was a little hesitant due to the mixed reviews but the ambiance grabbed my attention so I made a reservation anyway. It is what one might consider expensive, so just be aware of that. I spent around $300 not including tip for 3 people. Their drinks are reasonably priced so definitely try out their margarita flight. All of their flavors are delicious. The hosts were really sweet too, they immediately greeted us and asked if we came in for mothers day and proceeded to gift my mom a rose. Very sweet gesture. I will say once they got busy they were a little bit slow on service so I hope they work on that as they move forward. Overall a really nice experience and my mom loved it so they deserve the 5 stars. read more

Celebrated my friends birthday last night we were a large party of 22 we called ahead and made reservations with Meghan. That was very nice and accommodating to our needs . I had browsed through the menu before coming and seen that it was a bit on the pricier side but once dining here I realized that you definitely get what you pay for. We ordered the empanadas and guacamole for the table along with the queso fundido which all tasted amazing a friend of mine, ordered the pasta, which was tossed in a cheese wheel tableside I got to try it and it was very delicious I ordered the arrachera aka skirt steak, which was thick and juicy and definitely worth the price I also got to try some of the cast-iron Carnitas those were delicious. I did not venture off into the drink that much myself but I was told by others at my table that they were delicious. The ambience itself is submersible. Soon as you enter, you are surrounded by pure opulence and beauty. Form the fountain at the center bar to 3 beautiful chandelier above the reception desk everywhere you look nothing but beauty definitely understood why they called it Diosa Which means goddess in Spanish we were a large party of 22 so it is understandable that the service was a bit slow but nonetheless all our needs were met and we were able to celebrate my friends birthday which he enjoyed I will definitely be returning to enjoy some more food and drinks for the far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend it to any friends and family looking for a nice place to celebrate a special occasion read more

The food was amazing! Totally loved the ambiance and presentation of food items. I was taken back by the prices but then realized it was a shared plate price. And the food was well worth it!!! That paella was out of this world. My son who is in culinary immediately checked for the crust beneath the pasta and there it was. Perfect!!! Shrimp, clams, and muscles were heavenly! We shared and had enough left for a third person. Also ordered by our party was the Rib Eyed! Huge piece, tender, and properly spiced! Delicious!! Oh and that guacamole and fantastic chips! Fresh, lemony, and nicely spiced up. Just wished there were more chips (too little for three) because they were so good. Drinks were fantastic!!!! I will definitely be back with my friends. It does have a bougie, fun, modern atmosphere. A great surprise for the area! read more

So this was my second time coming to this place and it wasn't as great as last time! Emily our server was lacking a lot she wasn't on top of refills she wasn't very server like. The drinks were fantastic the margaritas flight was very refreshing!! The ambiance was good the music was great! I got the steak arrachera I asked her for chiles toreados and they put the chiles on the side from the dish which I didn't want them on the side I wanted a separate order of Chiles toreados. VERY Disappointing!! Also I asked for corn tortillas multiple times and I kept getting flour. The guacamole last time we came they were able to accommodate for the guacamole with no cilantro this time she said no. And we required to speak to the manager and she declined that with attitude. We got the guacamole all late. The worst part is that my husband got his food super late when we were almost done with OURS!! EXTREMELY BOTHERED I was gonna speak on it but honestly I was so mad. Overall the service was horrible read more

Given the fancy instagramable interior of the restaurant, I expected a lot more from this place. As soon as you walk in you feel the chic, fancy, upscale ambience. I loved the decor and appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant. My mother-in-law chose this place to celebrate her birthday, we definitely expected this to be a higher-end more expensive place, unfortunately it just didn't do it for us. We were a group of 8 with reservations at 5pm on a Saturday. A few in our group were late but lucky for us it was still on the slower end so we were seated pretty quickly. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages that can be made table-side and delicious mocktails, I got the Spicy Watermelon Agua and it was so delicious! For appetizers, we got the queso fundido with chorizo, which I have to admit was pretty good. However, when we asked if it came with chips they said it was an additional $4. We settled for our tortillas. When it came to ordering our entree, we couldn't decide what to get so we opted for the steak empanadas with a side of the arroz verde and black beans. It was definitely not worth the price. We also had some of the sea food pasta which was really cool to see it warmed up table-side in the cheese wheel, however, the taste did not live up to the experience. Overall, the food was the downfall of our experience here. Our churros dessert was subpar. Perhaps if the prices were more reasonable or the food lived up to the price, I would come again. On top of the already expensive prices, they charge a 3% surcharge and included an 18% gratuity on the bill. I understand tipping our waitress and table-side chefs, however, I would appreciate being able to do that myself instead of being forced to pay something I had no control over. read more

Made a reservation for 9:30pm for a birthday dinner. Waited until 10pm until we finally got seated. Placed order for some drinks and food. Waited around 2 hours for my food never came. If you are looking to splurge in Downey, then this is a great place for you. Be prepared, however, for premium cost that is disproportionate to the food quality and service. Hopefully, the ownership would implement some changes, for this restaurant has potential to be great. The dishes we had - tuna tower, octopus, bone marrow, and an enchilada dish were tasty; but they were over-complicated, over-flavored, and memorable only on those regard. The portions were good. The presentation was aesthetically pleasing. But they weren't celebrations of freshness, flavor, and authenticity. It was disappointing that our charismatic server Christian did not know certain things, e.g., where the ingredients were sourced and which particular liquor went into the cocktails (after saying that different liquors went into them). It was also disappointing that he did not find out and told us. The other guy (Daniel) who helped our server was also charismatic, efficient, and accommodating; however, there was another guy who brought our second set of cocktails who was quite grumpy. The chandeliers and the waterless fountain were reminiscent of our favorite RH restaurants in Napa and New York. These features created a dreamy, elegant ambience. I wish the chandeliers were sustained throughout the restaurant instead of an abrupt shift to a birdcage-like lighting for about half 3/4 of the restaurant. It was a fair experience, but we would likely not return unless some significant improvements happen. read more

Very nice looking place, hard to imagine this was hometown buffet before. The food was good I ordered the salad and I added skirt steak, it was really good. The frijoles charos we're pretty good and seeing they added chili de árbol is nice. Serving with pretty big. Affordable. I also had a beer totaled under $30 for me. Not bad considering there are items over $100 on the menu. They definitely are targeting upper middle class. So be prepared to spend some money if you come read more

Vegas vibes in Downey. Wow what a setup. Amazing decor throughout with an incredible bar.Nice vibrant music playing throughout the restaurant. The music really sets the mood. Very lively and beautiful restaurant. Valet parking available. Reservations highly recommended. Once seated you will notice the liquor cart. One can order drinks and shots from them. Unique experience. The prices are decent for the area and ambiance. For starters we shared their shrimp plate. Very good. Well cooked and perfectly seasoned. Also tried their salsa platter. A must try. For dinner I tried their chicken al pastor skewers. The chicken could have been cooked more but the beans and rice were good. Also tried their seafood enchiladas. By far the best dish that night. For dessert we shared a guava cheesecake. Absolutely delicious. Ended the night with a smoked old fashioned. Well presented and perfectly executed. The service was great. Only downside to our experience was when we got there early and requested to sit at bar fur drinks but we were told by hostess that bar is first come first serve .That's fine and all but I walked the bar myself and found a few open seats. So we just left and waited in our car. Other than that hiccup it was a good experience. read more

Slow, unprofessional, lousy & unsanitary service for mediocre and overpriced Mexican food. First was greeted by a host who was asked to wait on us, guess they were short staffed. He made sure to let us know he was no waiter and boy did he prove it. Second, we told him it was our first time there and he didn't disclose the happy hour menu nor recommend anything at all; we found out later after ordering. He invested his time & overall attention with a bigger party and rarely came by to tend to us. We had to ask another server for service. Shortly after, we found a fake eyelash on our table, the owner/manager happened to pass by at that moment, he grabbed it with a tissue, but didn't bother to sanitize the table nor apologize, he just walked away and never came back nor offer us anything for the disgusting experience. We debated in walking out, our food (appetizers & entrées) took forever to arrive, but it was too late and my company had driven from afar to meet there. We we're celebrating a special occasion and didn't want to ruin the rest of the evening. The ambiance is mostly for all the social media-lites' photos, but that's about it. Sufficed to say, I don't recommend this place unless you want mediocre and unsanitary service, overpriced food & drinks, and be ignored most of your dining experience; especially, if you're just a party of two. I should've read all the reviews beforehand. You live and learn! Don't book your next special occasion at this place, unless you want to be highly disappointed and want a poor dining experience. read more

I came here with my wife mid day on a weekday. This is a Beautiful restaurant. I mean next level beauty. Service was nice but the waitress's outfit didn't match the restaurant's elegance. That's an easy fix. She probably should've covered up a little more. However, our food was a disappointment. Both our meals were not up to par with the beautiful ambience and prices for this restaurant. Neither meal was tasty, to the point my wife barely touched her chilaquiles and left it. I was disappointed with my enchiladas but unlike my wife, I ate my food. It wasn't tasty but not bad either. Just did not meet my expectations from any Mexican restaurant much less one as pretty as this one. Ambience 5 stars. Service 4 stars. Food 1 star. Depending on what you are looking for this may or may not work for you. read more

Had dinner last night because my friend wanted to try this place. The minute I walked in the music was really loud. So I knew having a conversation would require speaking loudly to hear each other. Noticed that there were people in hoodies and jeans while other people were dressed like they were going to a club. We were seated at a table at the bar area. First off I noticed that there are girls pushing around alcohol carts stopping at tables offering drinks. Then there was a guy with several flower bouquets who also seemed to be walking around. Didn't seem to match the "upscale" vibe. There are also a lot of employees also walking around. At one point the girls with the carts got stuck around us along with some other employees. There was just a lot going on. The drinks are on the pricier end. I ordered a Frida's Garden. My drink was literally all ice. I basically paid for a glass of ice as it was almost to the top with ice and hardly any drink. I literally finished it in 3 sips. That was pretty disappointing for the price. We ordered a Queso Fundido to "share." For $18 it was tiny and it came with mini tortillas. I was shocked at how tiny it was. I ordered the Pollo Al Pastor, which is basically 2 chicken kabobs on green rice, some pineapple slices, 4 tiny pieces of cauliflower florets, black beans and some weird ketchup tasting salsa or sauce. The chicken was bland and it didn't taste like Al Pastor by any means. My friends plate took longer to come out as they ended up handing it to another table instead and had to make it again for her, per the waitress. Our waitress stopped by our table several times and at no point offered to refill my water. Overall the decor is beautiful. The entire experience was meh and underwhelming. The food and drinks are definitely overpriced for what it is and for being in the city of Downey. read more

2 Full STARS for the beautiful décor & ambience. Went in on a Monday night. The wine did not taste fresh, the drinks were watered down and way over priced. Appetizers & Dinner presentation looked nice but the food was mediocre. $130.00 for pasta and bread (shareable item) was not worth it. The food isn't all what it is hyped up to be. My partner and I mentioned it was my Birthday twice to our server, no acknowledgment, no offer of dessert recommendations. Being a brand new business, if someone makes a reservation, take the time to acknowledge the occasion ( this creates a conversation starter between the server & their guest, as well as provides an opportunity to upsell more menu items) GIRL PUSHING A BAR CART - NOT THE BUSINESS I think the concept was tacky. A young looking girl pushing a bar cart kept offering us "customized drinks" that were "better & stronger then the bars" and also mentioned that the bartenders at the bar "can't modify drinks like she could" I think it was a bad look in general and reminded me of a cocktail waitress in a casino shouting out "cocktails" ...I appreciate the "hustle" but def not necessary. I will not be returning back to this location. I spent over $300.00 to leave 100% unsatisfied and had a disappointing birthday dinner. read more

This place was so much fun! It's an entire vibe if you're looking for a good time out. The music is loud enough to feel like you're at a lounge (gets progressively louder as the night goes on) but the atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a fun sophisticated upscale scene. The severs/bartenders were friendly & efficient. We enjoyed the eclectic drink menu and we will definitely recommend this place. Loved the bar area! I recommend the guac & empanadas. The steak was also good and the octopus plate. Looking forward to returning. read more

Celebrated by birthday at Diosa and overall had a good experience with a couple of notable exceptions. First, the restaurant is stunning and definitely a scene. They've put a lot into the aesthetics and the details. They just need to step up the service. My complaints are these: Our server mistakenly brought out two drinks (I had ordered one), neither of which were made correctly. But I had waited quite a while at that point and said just forget it I will keep one of the incorrectly-made drinks. He told me to just keep them both and he wouldn't charge me for one of them. Fine. After we left, though, in looking at our bill we were, in fact, charged for both drinks. Should have caught it earlier, but then again...in my opinion neither drink should have been on the bill. The biggest shocker, though, and something we did notice before we left...they charged a surcharge for 'rising costs' which is a little ridiculous since they just opened and had the opportunity to set their menu prices appropriately and not to mention that their prices are definitely not cheap...but they also charged $2 for an ice cube. Yes...$2 for a large ice cube for my husband's drink. We approached a manager on our way out the door and he didn't even believe it at first but then looked at our bill and said he wasn't even aware that was a thing to charge for in their system. He was very nice, by the way, and said he would look into it and gave us his card for the next time we come in. This place has potential and is a great addition to the Downey restaurant scene...but if they keep up with the crazy prices and, in my opinion, gouging, they're going to lose repeat guests, especially if the level of service doesn't match the prices being charged. Come on, Diosa, we're rooting for you...do better please! :) read more

If you're looking to impress like a 1st date or do not mind dropping a few hundred bucks, this is your place. Decor was flawless but food and drinks didn't impress me at all. We decided to try this new place out. Seeing reviews and photos looked intriguing, especially because it's in our area. We were a party of 6, made reservations for 6pm. At first sight, it looked so fancy, definitely a high-end feel. They have a doorman who greets and lets you in. He was professional and polite. We were there 5 mins prior to our reservation, and I gotta say FRONT DESK gave a pretty snotty attitude. FRONT DESK didn't feel welcoming to any of us. Especially for us being first-timers in the restaurant. We definitely lived for the decor and ambiance. It was beautiful. We were walked to our table around 6:45 pm, almost 7. We were rushing to make sure we were there on time! And to be led to our 6pm reservation table 45 mins to an hour later really sucked!! I gotta say it wasn't looking so good for us to stay. We were tempted to leave. However, THE MANAGER that night, as he walked us to our table, was super professional, informative, and really welcoming!!! He was the reason we gave it a shot to stay. He was attentive to us and our questions and really explained the concept of the restaurant very well. He even checked on us from time to time. Our waiter was amazing!! Although the drinks were taking some time, the drinks were delicious!!! Except for the one drink that I didn't like. The food was AWESOME, so good!!! Everything had great flavor and perfect seasoning!! Personally, I've had better Paella, the whole dish tasted bland. We had great drinks, food, great conversations, and laughs. We definitely created a group memory here. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and didn't regret staying and trying out the place. We talked about coming back again in future time. I'm HUGE on CUSTOMER SERVICE, especially when I'm paying high-end prices. Hopefully, FRONT DESK can smile and make the customers feel welcomed. After all, we are there ready to spend a nice check!! read more

This place was such a let down. My wife and I were excited about this place but everything about our experience was bad . 1) bartenders did not know their cocktails . I asked for their smoked old fashion, the bartender did not know how to smoke it so she said they're not doing it smoked anymore as I'm lookin at the couple across the bar getting a smoked old fashioned. Later then manager brought me one after I mentioned it to our waitress . Second drink I order was a whiskey sour and they brought me a whiskey and coke and insisted it was a whiskey sour until I'm assuming the head bar tender came and corrected it and brought me the right drink. 2) waitress did not even know the menu. She wasn't attentive I had to tell her as she was walking by that we were ready to order . She also didn't know what the drinks were or what they were called. Never brought us water until we asked for them . Food took for ever to come and when it came it came all at once. Appetizers and main course. 3) food in general wasn't very good . It wasn't horrible but definitely not amazing. If they brand themselves as an upscale restaurant the staff should know menu, should know their drinks, and able to explain the dishes to the customers . Overall bad experience. read more

Service was ok. Drinks are weak, food over rated and over priced. Went once but won't be going back. Inside is very nice.

Went here for valentines day. They kept missing our order and kept bringing us the wrong items. I think the entire team was confused and didnt know how to handle a busy day. The tables are too close to each other. The vibe is nice but the food and drinks are waaayy over priced for their quality. TLDR; save your money!! this place looks really cool but the food is overpriced and mediocre, super disappointed I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the cons quite significantly outweigh the pros. PROS - The decor is lovely and I enjoyed the music - The food is plated beautifully CONS - Parking; they have over 50% of their lot for valet only and most of it is unused, I totally get wanting to have a valet service available but it feels like they're trying to force you to valet - Service; the food came out at three separate times for a party of three. My friend got her steak arrachera first, we then waited ~15 minutes for my enchiladas poblanas to come out, and finally the salmon my friend ordered came out ~10 min after my order - Value; the food is decent but the prices are absolutely outrageous for what you get read more

I should have listened to the reviews, but my husband and I wanted to judge this place for ourselves. My husband and I are foodies and always love to try out new restaurants especially when they are local. Unfortunately, I also agree with all of the low rated reviews. 2 starts for the service and the ambience are which are very good! However, the food is way over priced. I don't mind spending when it comes to a good food however, when they have no flavor everything seems over priced. We ordered the seafood paella, the chicken Al Pastor and the steak ribeye, and unfortunately all three dishes were lacking in flavor. The drinks were decent and standard price for a drink at a bar. BUT Being that it is a brand new restaurant we are willing to give it one more try in a couple of months, maybe for lunch vs dinner this time. read more

I absolutely love DIOSA...... DIOSA has an elegant ambiance with carefully designed decoration. Luxurious furniture, great lighting and clean bathrooms. Managers are always visible and the service is great. . DIOSA is great for special celebrations.....,, The food is great, and yes!! I had empanadas this day, my sister had a carnita that was just ok for $10 for 1. 2 for $10 would be better especially for Goddess hour. I have tried many dishes during my many visits. The drinks are good as well depending on the bartender of course. $14 for mimosa during Goddess hour sounds a bit much for this hour, and I didn't see the price on the menu. I like the margarita flight I had during my October visit!!! GODDESS HOUR is a nice name for happy hour here...... I did not get an itemized receipt. I prefer a itemized receipt because restaurants (elsewhere) are adding charges like health insurance to our receipts. Be Mindful!! They weren't very busy so the staff kept coming to our table talking. It was nice at first, but a bit much also. THANK YOU Hostesses Reyna and Gabriela Floor manager Prisela Goddess (drink cart server) Liliana Server Robert For making my sister-n-law birthday celebration special on her first visit. I saved the parking issue for last.. Note: The attendant should not to be on his phone. He doesn't pay attention to the cars coming in. He allowed me to park in valet then told me, it cost $10. Funny park is, DIOSA wasn't crowded at all and all free spots were taken. I do not know what game they're playing, but for sure it is a parking SCAM! I watched the attendant do this to a group of lady's as well as myself. Paying for accommodating parking is inconsiderate and seems like a schemes. I was there for 3 hours and none of the cars that were there when I arrived had moved in 3 hours. read more
