This is a temporary review. It's Saturday night 7pm when we decide to have some cocktails. We decide we would try Diosa. Knowing it would probably be packed on a weekend we call in advance to see if bar walk ins are accepted. We were told bar walk ins are accepted. We arrive 8pm and are told we are not allowed to be seated because there are no walk ins. Front desk has no idea what to say about the miscommunication. Manager is "not able to speak with us" so we head over to Xecra in the Downey Landing. I will give them another chance by making reservations. Hope they can fix miscommunication with the front staff until then will be giving a 1 star read more

The building and aesthetics was above and beyond. Considering this used to be a hometown buffet before the transformation exceeded my expectations. Plenty of staff for valet and quick service. Nice people. Food was good, some items I thought were over priced for taste but was overall good food. Ahi tuna was too spicy but i am sensitive, the corn was really delicious with the chipotle sauce, steak Caesar was okay. Steak empanadas were pretty good. Ice-cream sundae was huge, definitely for 4-7 people lol. I really enjoyed the mango Moscow mule non-alcoholic option, I tried my families margarita and some other cocktails but were too sweet or too sour but perhaps it was just the choice they selected. read more

DIOSA is the best thing to happen in Downey in a long time. Since it's opening day, I've been there many times, wth my husband and with friends. We've always experienced wonderful service from all staff, from the front desk to servers to the tequila cart server. The music is on point! House and techno are my favorite. The whole ambience reminds me of amazing times at Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The drinks are outstanding with all the clever names and presentation! Queso fundido is delicious and the arrachera, just so tasty. The decor is top notch. The black and white with the chandeliers is perfection. Just overall, one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in. That's including places in New York and Europe. We just went last night and I'll be there in two weeks. YES! That's how much I enjoy it! read more

Food= 5-10 Service= 3-10 Ambiance= 10-10 Diosa is a very nice restaurant. It's so nice you almost forget it's in a strip mall. Unfortunately, the food & service don't match the decor and ambiance. The food lacks flavor. As an example, the lobster quesadilla is over priced, lacks flavor, and had more corn than anything. The guacamole had a nice kick to it but I could have done without the smoke (you couldn't taste the smoke anyway). I wanted to try the steak nachos but our bartender forgot to put our order in so unfortunately they were a no go. Diosa does have a very nice liquor & tequila selection so if you like addictive free tequila, they've got you covered. However, good luck getting a drink when they get busy. I'd suggest getting there early because the busier it gets the worse the service is. Conversely, the bartenders and servers are friendly but as previously mentioned when it's gets busy it'll be difficult to get their attention for anything. Overall Diosa is a very nice restaurant but they need alot of help in the kitchen and at the bar. Also, for what they charge for food and beverage I expected more from them and they just didn't deliver. Finally, it would have been nice to speak to an manager about some of my concerns but apparently they were all too busy looking busy. read more

Kills me to leave bad reviews - food never came out - complaining servers when met with requests about the menu or inquires on how much longer food is going to be taking after an hour of waiting - keg lines and taps taste dirty - premium cost for a subpar product - actively swearing and unprofessional service whilst customer facing in the lobby - zero efforts of making the moments right with corrective food handling or replacement food products Zero redeemable qualities about this restaurant and I would not recommend a visit - hit Mimi's Cafe next door. read more

I just went last night man. This place is fairly new. To me it's just a place to vibe and chat and if you like spending money balling out handles. Drinks are fancy for your instagram post etc. other than that foos was basic. Rice and beans no texture. Rice felt like it was off the microwave. Steak arrechera had hella onions and like 5 pieces of meat but flavor was mid. The Pollo a pastor was dry as chicken didn't taste no flavor. Best thing for food is the appetizers queso fundido and steak empanadas. Those were bomb. To pricy too but like I said if you wana drink and post for the gram etc this your place. Music a vibe too but to eat nah. Boujee lil spot for y'all. read more

What an amazing addition to Downey! I am so happy that I checked this place out. Everything was absolute perfection. The decor and ambiance are top notch and not many restaurants anywhere look as beautiful as Diosa does. My wife and I could not stop looking around, noticing every detail and design...wonderful. Service was as excellent as the setting, friendly, professional and fun. Every employee in which we interacted with knew the meaning of hospitality and how to take care of a guest. We were checked on throughout our experience and definitely felt pampered throughout by an experienced staff. The food was on point, everything we tried was delicious and the menu had so many more options to choose from. We wished we could have ordered it all! Some highlights of our experience - The Lobster Ceviche - Lobster and scallops with fresh lime and tostadas, super light and refreshing, an excellent starter. Mango- Habanero Aguachile - perfectly spicy with shrimp and avocado Steak Empanadas - skirt steak and mushrooms inside, perfectly crispy outside. Dipped them chipolte aioli. Bone in Tomahawk Ribeye (added mojo de ajo mushrooms and a side of poblano mash potatoes) - this was epic! Perfectly cooked, highly recommend the add ons, the mojo mushrooms are over the top good. For drinks we opted to start the night with a shot each of their house aged Extra Anejo tequila. They have an excellent selection of tequila and we went on a Tuesday, and so many tequilas were 50% off! Tequila Tuesday! My wife had The Salma, she said it was springtime in a glass, perfectly balanced. I went with the Vintage fashion. the smoke box was impressive and made for a great video. I'm a sucker for old fashions and this one did not disappoint. Overall, this was not just a dinner, but an experience. From the moment that we entered the restaurant until the moment we left, we were wowed and pampered. I highly recommend Diosa and can't wait to go back again! Thank you Diosa! read more

Went last night for my first time, place is a bit overrated. Had reservations still waited 30 mins to get seated. Drinks were good, food was not and for the prices you'd expect better quality. Our waiter was attentive and did and good job but the overall pretentious wanna be "high class" vibe didn't sit right with me. Don't think I'll be back. read more

Great ambiance! Excellent table side drinks thanks to Cecilia (Margaritas)... other than that food with so so. My dish was very much over seasoned. The corn and cheese appetizers were great. The dessert is a visual treat but very large. read more

See you soon, again, Diosa! My girlfriend mentioned it and I had to check it out for myself. We made a reservation Friday night for 9:15pm and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our server Christian was amazing, very personable and made my first time here memorable. The drinks were great, the food was lovely, especially the Camaron taquitos! My favorite! Should've ordered 4 plates of them! Also, thank you Priscilla - for being so sweet, attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed our time here and look forward to being back. read more

Food is amazing, wait staff is attentive and parking is ample. Perfect date spot or brunch with friends.

Yesterday was our first time at Diosa, and it won't be our last. Diosa is a beautiful gem, everything from the atmosphere to food, drinks and service was exceptional and what we expect from a fine dining establishment. I wish I had taken pictures of our food and drinks, but we were so impressed we didn't think to do so. I highly recommend the Mar y Tierra, my husband loved the Cast Iron Carnitas, we had several appetizers all delicious, also I loved the Rose Gold margarita recommended by our wonderful server, thank you Juan Carlos you made our experience extraordinary! The staff at Diosa were all professional yet warm and friendly. read more

Went in Mother's Day, had a pretty good experience even though it was busy AF! We took our mama to dinner and although had to wait a while, the general manager apologized and she went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of for the long wait to sit. Thank you (I didn't catch her name). Our server, Jose was friendly and took care of our demanding party. I've been here before with a smaller group and had a great time as well. Consistent friendly service and great food - their smoked guac is off the charts! But that Ribeye.....best thing on the menu! read more

-I wish I had taken down names. There's a hostess with light golden hair, she is the absolute sweetest. She took the time to hold a conversation with me and even suggested a couple of drinks. -the tuna tartare is SO good here. If you've been to Delilah's, much like theirs. - multiple waiters stopped by with what they thought was our food order, they're still working out the kinks - drinks are about $20 a piece - restaurant has a glam/roaring 20s feel I visited Saturday night and the only reason why I didn't give five stars was because of a staff member. I was sitting in a small table for two, about 4 feet away was a second table for two. We were so close in space, I could reach over and touch the person next to me. To give you a visual. The neighboring couple was already dining when we arrived. Late 40's. We get through about 3/4 of our dinner. There was a FULL cocktail on our table. Salsa trio as well. A man in a beige blazer with a low bun walks up to the two tables, points to my table, and instructs an employee to clear my table (then proceeds to point at my table.) He was loud and clear. I watched the employee loop around the set of tables, never taking my eye off him. He then proceeds to ask if he could clear our plates. The couple next to us was long done, still had plates on their table. I felt singled out, considering we still had food on our table. I let him know it was very unprofessional of his superior to loudly demand him to clear our table. He nodded. Was it because we are young? do we not deserve to finish our meal? I let my waitress know. A manager approached us and suggested it might've been a misinterpretation because the person I was describing was a general manager. I was shocked. I reassured her, there was no room for interpretation. He could've simply said, "hi, I realize the tables are a bit crowded. Is there anything I can take from your table?" Or perhaps instructed his employee to clear out the table but out of earshot in a PROFESSION MANNER. His status within the restaurant does not excuse his unprofessionalism nor does it make him inmune to committing mistakes. It would've been appreciated if he had taken the time to approach us and clarify. Instead of putting a bandage over the situation by offering us a reduction on our bill. read more

Definitely worth giving them a try. I was a little skeptical of trying this place out due to the mix reviews but im so glad we came & checked it out for ourselves! I highly recommend a reservation during the weekend but we came on a sunday night & we were able to get sat within 5 minutes The restaurant is beautiful! The moment you walk in it gives a different vibe, very vegas. We ordered the tuna tower, the octopus & the tomahawk. We took our server's recommendations & we were so happy with our choices. Thank you Jorge for a great experience & not only great service but he remembered it was my birthday & brought out a little dessert at the end! They also have happy hour I believe but only at the bar, but definitely coming here for date nights read more

It was my first time here and they did not disappoint. I was pretty skeptical at first with the reviews but we had such a great time. Lisa was our server on the beginning and she was so sweet ! She gave us great recommendations on what to drink and eat. She was even helpful changing our order after we had already put in an appetizer. She took boomerangs for our instagram stories for us ! She was very attentive and she even told us that she may be a while because she was doing a churro cart so she asked us if we needed anything before she did that so we wouldn't wait so long to me that was just great service. We had George after and he was just as nice ! The vibes here are amazing ! From the moment you walk in you feel like you're transported to another place. The drinks we had made me feel like I was on a vacation or something. Everything is very instagram worthy which they definitely highlight here. I had a great time and will definitely come back. It was pretty pricey but it was worth the money our food was delicious. We had the crème brûlée which was okay but still everything overall was such a great experience that I look forward to coming back here. read more

Restaurant is really pretty, nice dark fancy vibes. Food was good, the only thing is that they do bring every thing separate and not together when everyone orders their food. Service was not that great either, we waited a very long time for our drinks and plates as well. The pollo Al pastor was actually really good! I loved it, the girl was sweet but I feel like the service could've been better because like I said we waited a very long time for our drinks and food. read more

The food and drinks were delicious. I ordered Camarones a la Diabla, they were super spicy, I could only eat two shrimp, but definitely recommend if you like spicy. Came here on a Monday for some quality coworker time. We started off with a guava diosa Margarita. That was absolutely delicious. Victor, our waiter recommended the steak empanadas which I thought were ehh, ok. I would definitely order the street corn again! It was so good and served with chips. I ordered the enchiladas poblanas and my friend had the camarones a la diabla. Both plates came with a side of rice and beans! There was so much food! I also HAD to get the wagyu. It was soooo good! They cook it table side and Russell did such a good job cooking it to perfection! I would definitely come again for the drinks and I really want to try the tomahawk steak next time! It's super cute inside and the bathroom has the perfect selfie mirror. So glad that the music wasn't blasting. Coming back soon! read more

A group of us came for Friday night dinner, which I've been anticipating for months. Diosa didn't disappoint and we had an amazing dinning experience. The ambiance and decor of this place reminded me of a Beverly Hills or Las Vegas restaurant. The vibe is upscale, trendy, festive, and decadent. There's a DJ thats perched in a booth near the bar dropping beats all night long, which added to the ambiance. We sat at the bar from drinks while our table was being prepared, I had a Moscow Mule and my wife had the Coco Channel, both drinks were well crafted and delicious. We were seated and our server was top notch, totally attentive, and proved impeccable service. I ordered the coco risotto salmon that came with rice coconut milk risotto, seared sautéed cauliflower, kale, and diced mango that was simply amazing and full of flavors. I don't even like cauliflower but the way it was prepare was so good. My wife ordered the steak arrechera that was prepared to perfection, it came with charro black beans and arroz verde. She loved her entree!! Overall we had an amazing dining experience and Diosa exceeded my expectations! We'll definitely be back and refer this place to family and friends. read more

Family and I came here on Sunday at 4:30pm because we wanted to have an earlier dinner before a show at the Downey Theatre at 6pm. The restaurant is SO beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a kids menu. There were a total of four adults and two kids and every single one of us loved our meals. The waiter (I don't remember his name but he had red framed glasses) was EXCELLENT and made us feel welcome. Yes, the food is on the pricier side, but it was delicious and the portions were very generous. The relaxed ambiance and the beauty of the restaurant instantly transfixed our boys (age 5 and 6) and we had the most pleasant family dinner. Even the restrooms were beautiful. I am definitely looking forward to coming back for drinks with girlfriends, or date night with hubby. read more
