I wanted to love this place as its so close to home and the place is very nicely decorated but unfortunately the experience wasn't as great for the expectations we had. My friend and I came for her birthday a week into their opening. We got seated right away and ordered drinks with the waitress. The drinks were probably the best thing we had all night but it did take about 20 minutes for them to come out. As it came down to place out order the waitress informed us that the sides that are listed with the entrees do not in fact come with the entrees and they are separate. We were both confused as the menu clearly listed the sides with entrees nor did it say with choice of or not included. Anywho, we ordered our food and sides and waited a while for this to come out as well. She had the carne asada rice and beans and I ordered the carnitas and beans. The carnitas were overloaded with onions and the beans were just okay. We decided to try the creme brûlée for dessert and this was a mistake. We waited about half an hour for the dessert to come out. Once we finally took a spoonful we discovered that the creme brûlée was raw as it was a soupy consistency. We asked for this to be taken back. The manager and chef came out and apologized for the wait and mistake which I appreciated. The bill came out to about $240 before tip for 2 people before they removed the dessert. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back as I would rather drive to Weho or BH if I'm going to be paying the same price. read more

JULIAN gave 10/10 service. Extremely negotiable and welcoming. Went out of his was to make sure we received the best service. The food was AMAZING. I will definitely recommend and ask for him during my next visit. DIOSA did themselves a serious service hiring Julian. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! read more

Came to Diosa for a date night with my girlfriend. Nice place and you are greeted immediately by their lovely hosts. We didn't wait long to be seated and they accommodated our request to be sat at a booth. It was pretty busy when we came. Our server Paulina came and greeted us and brought water and made suggestions what to order after she told us about the style of service And the type of food diosa offers. For starters we ordered their guacamole and chips and I ordered the ribeye parilla. My girlfriend ordered the enchiladas Del Mar. as for our drinks we ordered margarita flight, coco Chanel and tulum tulum. Food and drinks were great and we give that 4.5 stars. The one star unfortunately is for the owner. We witnessed her speak so rudely to her staff and as another business owner, I feel that you should treat your staff respectfully. Her actions just left a bad taste in our mouth and will not support a business who do not respect others. Especially if these people are helping you with your establishment. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back. read more

Delicious food and awesome service. Nice place to gather with friends & family. The cocktail my daughter order was delicious, can't remember the name, but presentation was impressive. read more

Was taken here for my bachelorette. The interior is beautiful and we all dressed up. It took about 10 minutes to have someone come to the front and get us situated. The server acknowledged that it was my bachelorette and he even said "let's make it special!" But the service was so extremely slow even when making eye contact with the server he would rarely come over to us or forget the things we asked for. It wasn't that it was extremely busy he would make eye contact and then walk away many times. One of our plates was very late to come out and we were told nothing about it so the 4 of us were just waiting for hers to come out. The food and drinks were delicious but our biggest complaint was that it took 2.5 hours for a 5 person dinner (1 drink one entree each) when we all knew what we wanted pretty quickly. We had to try flagging the guy down 4 times just to get the check, and had to remind them twice that we asked for them to bring our cake out that we brought. read more

Came here a while back and had a horrible experience. I ordered enchiladas poblanas which come with steak, for some reason they decided to add shrimp instead. I took a bite or two when I noticed there was shrimp in my dish immediately we notified staff that there was shrimp in my dish and I was allergic. The manager Greg Aiken came to our table and told us they could not give customers any drugs as I needed allergy medicine asap he then proceeded to send someone to go buy the medication. Greg seemed somewhat concerned at the time and asked for my contact information to follow up the next day which he never did. They don't care about their customers! read more

My group of friends and I enjoyed the drinks and food, the place is pretty, but the service is so so bad. Our server barely came to us at for refills or picking up finished plates. At the end of our meal we circled the 5 items we wanted on one check to make things simple and our server told us verbatim "this is going to be a headache to do". I could not believe that he rolled his eyes at us as he said this. I've been a server and tried to make the transaction as simple as possible and his attitude wouldn't allow it. Killed the vibe completely. read more

Food not that great to be honest, if you decide to go the appetizers are the way to go. Service 5/10 to say the least, bartenders are actually good, good drinks. The valet sucks, unprofessional people they have working for them. Apparently, in order to part on their parking lot you have to pay. They say valet but I had to part my own car and go get my own car while paying $10. Presentation of restaurant is good, patio is great. read more

Here's the thing, I enjoy the ambience, I enjoyed the food. The staff are all truly great, but I own a business and restaurant of my own. I over heard the female owner of the restaurant speaking so condescending to 3 of her employees, and when you have a business to run and a team under you, you aren't a dictator, you do right by your employees and you treat and speak to them the way you want them to treat and speak to your restaurant guest. This advise is coming from a business owner to business owner. I've been here twice already and the female owner happened to be there those 2 times. A total of 3 encounters I witnessed which was not okay from my POV. read more

Food was very good. But honestly over priced. Service was very friendly, restaurant had a good ambiance

The restaurant is such a surprise because you would expect a valet parking classy restaurant between Chase Bank and CVS. Once you walk into the restaurant, it looks like a Beverly Hills restaurant. The ambiance is great with chandeliers. Our server was amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and gave us ice cream with candles. With that said, this place felt like it wanted to be like a Vegas restaurant. The music was too loud and the alcohol carts that kept roaming around kept distracting our conversation. It makes the space too tight to move around. read more

Food was not so good to pricey for what you get in my opinion over rated ... and the one thing I really dislike more than the food was the music ... the night they we went was on a Saturday and they only played edm music... and after a bit that gets very annoying... it would be nice if they would play a variety...,, Service was amazing our waiter was very nice he really made our night....The ambiance was really nice as well I loved the decor and their drinks were on point.... I would definitely go back but just for drinks and maybe an appetizer.... read more

Great food cute vibes for a date night. Felt a little rushed to get out but will come back!

Went for a birthday celebration. The service was great the staff was amazing. It was a party of 14 people and we all experienced great customer service. The food and the drinks were amazing! I want to thank Megan for helping me make reservations. read more

I absolutely loved this place. Trendy, amazing service all around and the food was exceptional! I see a lot of complaints with respect to flavors. I can say I went in with no expectations and appreciated the take on this restaurants interpretation of signature dishes. With pricing, I understand with inflation prices go up and for the quality Im getting my moneys worth. We have too many restaurants in Downey that only cater to heavy bar food and so I definitely see us coming here more often. Thank you for the amazing hospitality and service! read more

Food was great. Decent serving portions. Ambiance is upbeat and nice for all ages. We had Nicholas as our server and he was super attentive, friendly, had a positive attitude the entire time. read more

Came to eat here on a strong recommendation... and I was wowed! The whole vibe was glamorous and chic. Like, marble everywhere! The presentation of the drinks and dinner was incredible with great attention to detail. I ordered the guacamole for an appetizer and the octopus for the main entree. Best. Guacamole. Ever. The octopus was tender and flavorful. I'm a dessert girl, so when the manager (Greg) came by to check in on us, I asked and he recommended the creme brûlée. Do not pass on the crème brûlée!! I walked out feeling happy, full and toasty... treat yourself! read more

Beautiful, Instagram-worthy restaurant. Nicest spot in Downey. However, food and drinks are overpriced, and service is bad. Our drinks arrived after the food, workers seem stressed and/or disengaged. My overall sense having worked in food service for 7 years is that this place is not managed well. It's new so maybe in time it will get better but unfortunately right now it's more style over substance. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Really bad service got check on 3 times , waiter forgot my wife's order every one else was waiting 15 min till the waiter corrected the issue , food was good but cold , presentation was horrible, ambiance was really nice, very pricey for the service you receive . read more

Hmm if I would I would give zero stars . Please don't waste your money there's multiple of options restaurants out there worthy of trying . Customer service was horrible. Food presentation was even worse , server and waiter couldn't even place plates over the stand apparently some dishes need to be placed . At some point the server dropped the wood board with the food and was leaving before another waiter attempted to correct the error . The experience was disappointing we attempted to make the best but the last straw was when a guest we attended with order Desert that never showed up. Oh which they attempted to charge knowingly it was never brought to us the only thing brought was plates and spoons. read more

Food was horrible overpriced white washed Mexican food never will come back server service suck as well

The cooks pick food off the plates. Went there to celebrate a friends birthday and when I got a chance to look over to the kitchen, I saw the cooks tasting food off the plates (with their fingers) and the manager looking on. I was disgusted and couldn't order anything. Won't be coming back. read more

First time here. Beautiful restaurant. Ambiance was nice. Service was decent. Food was ok. Drinks lacked liquor content. Wait time for food and drinks was terrible. Not coming back any time soon. read more

Went for a birthday. The decor is glamorous and when they present the food or drinks in a fabulous way, you can be elevated. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. We were there nearly 4 hours, just for 10 persons. The waiter Julian never came back to check on us or take our food order. The Greek salad and quesadilla came last. Honestly a very disappointing visit. It had been better in the past. That's why I gave it 3 stars. Because I'd been here before. read more

Service wasn't great! Everything looks unorganized. We didn't get someone come to our table 30-40 mins in. And after they took our order I didn't even see them anymore. They never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks or anything. So we didn't order round 2 of anything. And they still charged 18% gratuity. We paid 77$ for us not even getting attended. We had to flag people down. Asked for my friends birthday dessert, they brought ice cream with no spoon.... We had to flag once again someone to get a spoon. Too pricey as well. The place is nice don't get me wrong. But wouldn't come here again. read more

Horible service, overpriced food!! Won't be returning...bring back home town buffet.... The drinks are so-so...

This place if definitely just a hype. It's a gorgeous place inside and out. Gives upscale vibes as you step in. It all died instantly at the front check-in with the hostesses. The ladies in the front didn't even greet us upon arrival. I was told I was "too early" for my reservation and they couldn't promise me they'd sit me any sooner so we were going to have to wait. Went to the bar, bar service was okay. Once our table was ready the woman who sat us didn't even acknowledge us or even speak to us. Not one word. Lol. Weird. Waiter was ok. Only came around about 3 times. Would ask me if I wanted another drink but not my husband. Weird, again. Drinks were a 4/10 and overpriced. Food was a 6/10? Honestly, save yourself the trip. If you're looking for upscale bougie with great tasting food and service, Javier's is it! Oh, and the live DJ is too loud, you can't even hold a conversation with the person across the table from you. :( read more

This place was okay, it could have been clutch if service was good however my waiter was not proactive with us. There was multiple tables open we were sat in 15 min so no wait. My drink came out when I was basically done with my meal I had requested it twice to where the waiter would say it's coming out and never did . Only until I had to give him an ugly stare down like bro where is my drink? There was a lot of staff. It's to much hype might ñ as well go to Beverly Hills for the price for more better experience. He also kept me calling me boss aggressively which was weird, im not your boss you can simply have class and refer to men as Sir for more appropriate adequate. read more

Great food, really delicious. The service was good not superb as I would expect based on pricing - a little pricey. The ambiance needs work. It's very nightclubish and the music is unnecessarily blaring. If the music was lower it would be much more enjoyable for dinner. We got there at 6, and could hateful wait to leave due to loud music. Food 10+ Service 7, ambiance 0 read more

I have never wrote a review in my life but since it was the worst experience i had to!it was dinner for 5 girls 1.we asked for an extra plate because me and my friend were sharing an overpriced meal the arrachera plate they never asked us how we wanted the meat!the beans and rice portions were super small for a $70 plate!that we did not eat!! we asked the waitress for an extra plate she came back 30 mins with a plate when we had already grabbed a plate from an empty table!we also placed an order of drinks, we understand they can take time but a Soda from the machine shouldn't take 30+ mins!so we ignored all those red flags then we started eating and there was BLACK HAIR in my friends food mind you we are ALL BLONDES!we proceed to tell the waiter with the man bun and he asks us "HOW DID IT GET THERE" we're all in shock like what? so he grabs the plate upset and takes it to the back then comes back and tell us that all his cooks have hair nets which we NEVER asked him to do he never apologized and told us SINCE IT SEEMED THAT NOTHING WAS GOING TO MAKE US HAPPY TO "WRAP IT UP" HE BASICALLY KICKED US OUT!!!we are locals in Downey and have never had this type os treatment or service in any restaurant yes they did discount but we still payed a $400 plus tab ON THERE BASIC FOOD! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! yes it's nice but that does not mean anything when your a customer service and LOW QUALITY FOOD AND DRINKS ARE NOT UP TO PAR! we WENT TO TEMPO AFTER WHERE WE HAD NEVER HAD ANY TYPE OF ISSUES!
