I'm new to Albuquerque but several people have told me to visit Dion's because it's a local favorite. I gave this one a try and I'll admit that I'm less than impressed. The young lady at the register greeted us with a smile and it looks like they were working well together in the kitchen. So that's a plus. The restaurant was pretty clean too, and besides some crumbs from previous customers, the table we chose was presentable. We ordered the Sicilian without olives and we added ranch for dipping. I'd never done that before, but I'm grateful that I did. The ranch saved the pizza. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it was pretty greasy and lacked flavor. The Sicilian comes with red sweet peppers on it, and if you don't mind it, the flavor of the peppers can over power the seasoning of almost any dish. The ranch sauces kind if made up for the flavor deficit, so if you're going to visit and get this pizza, perhaps consider adding a dipping sauce. Overall, I'm not wowed by the chain, nor do I feel like I must absolutely return, but I'm not one to completely write off a restaurant without giving it a redemption shot. First off. When I do a review for a restaurant I start with the customer service. How you are treated can truly change the way you see the food. The customer service here was horrible. When we ordered the gentleman who took the order was awesome. However. The girl who was handing out orders was mean and rude. I went to check on my pizza because the rest of our order came out. The girl called an order and when the person didn't come she threw his food down and walked away from the counter and me. She came back shortly and with an attitude. I asked about my pizza that's supposed to come out with our order. She basically yelled at me telling me there were 3 other pizzas in front of mine. This being said. We were told the pizza came out and was never called. So now we have the pizza. I ordered the gourmet crust, pepperoni, green chile and roasted red peppers with extra sauce. Now, if you're gonna call your gourmet crust thin crust and crispy, then it should be crispy. My pizza had the worst pizza flop I have ever seen or had. Crispy does not mean floppy and sloppy. I would not recommend paying for the gourmet crust. It is not worth the extra Cpl dollars. However the flavor of the toppings and cheese were really good. The sauce was kinda bland and I had extra. The place was clean but empty for a Saturday night. Maybe that girl scared them away. All in all this place called Dion's gets a 2 out 10. The only reason it's not a 1 or 0 is because the toppings and cheese were pretty decent. I do not recommend coming here when in NM. I'd rather have frozen Walmart pizza. read more

Dion's is a staple in New Mexico, this place is locally owned and operated and in my opinion is a must try if you are traveling through Albuquerque. I have never had a bad experience with them and the food is always fresh and always delicious. Anything you order will be good, but the pizza is killer! read more

I am new in town and decided to give Dion's a try since I heard good things from friends. Their pizza is delicious and I especially love their crust. They also have their own ranch which is absolutely delicious!!! And last but not least, their sweet tea is one of the best I have ever had! Last time I bought two gallons and I need to go back for more!!! Does not disappoint! Have not tried their subs yet but I'm sure they are as equally delicious!! I didn't realize how much I loved Dion's moved to Atlanta 10 years ago. I miss having a go to place for quality pizza, subs and salads. Dions does everything right. I want everything when I go! Their salad dressing are famous and in so happy they are sold by the bottle so I can take back to GA with me. I compare all other ranch dressings to theirs. "Is it as good as Dion's?". normally Dion's provides good customer service, however on Saturday evening we ordered a Tuscan pizza, 1gallon of lemonade, and one gallon of UNSWEETENED iced tea, and of course what I got in my gallon of Iced Tea was sweet tea, the reason I ordered the un sweetened iced tea is because there are diabetic people in my hose hold and this type of mistake can hurt people, luckily I tasted the tea before I would have and accidentally served this to another person. please try to do, some sort of quality check. before you hurt someone. read more

Now with covid we have went by a few times. This location is not good. Every time it's one thing after another. The mushrooms in my crunchy salad were old. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza with fresh tomatoes and got some old reheated sliced with sausage, pepperoni and chili. It was so overly reheated you couldn't bite it. This location used to have great food but has gone downhill within the last few months. Today we ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a turkey sub. Our pizza had a layer of oil on the top and my sub sandwich was far from what I expected. It was completely missing lettuce and just looked so unappealing. Alright. So I've been going to Dion's obviously since the beginning of time since I'm Albuquerque born. Lol. I've been to I can imagine all the locations in the city but this one. Just blew my mind. The guy who's answered the phone was super nice. My salad was perfect, (how do you mess up a salad.) But the pizza... Wow. So they gave me a old cold slice of pepperoni, with legit a 2 inch layer of two pieces of chicken in the middle of the pizza with a damn cup of cheese melted on top. LOL. I'm honestly baffled someone inside was like yeah sure send this out?! Hahaha. I have family that have worked there and I know the slices aren't always fresh, specifically a specialty slice like Kansas City, but wtf is this!?! Lol. The amount of cheese they threw on top to try and hold THE TWO WHOLE PEICES of chicken made it even impossible to warm up the pizza! LOL. The chicken was cold when I bit into my pizza? Man, have you ever been excited to show a non-New Mexican how New Mexicans do pizza? I was. Unfortunately, I tried this location for the first time in doing so. We ordered: medium veggie pizza, 10" Tuscan pizza, and a tossed salad. NO RED OINION on anything, please. Well, we got our food, and the box for the veggie pizza legitimately weighed 14.5 pounds. The box was bowed at the bottom. We got home to open it to see that Ray Charles must have been been the one cutting the pizza as all the slices were uneven. Giving Dions the benefit of the doubt I tried to take a slice out: ALL THE TOPPINGS fell to the box. The dough was still raw from where they had put roughly a pound of cheese (not allowing heat to reach the dough). I moved to the salad, it had red onions. BURN! The Tuscany came out nice but I wonder if it is a ploy to force people to be up-sold on a "gourmet" crust in order for the normally "hand-tossed" or traditional Dions pizza to be made right. It was inedible. So, I took it back. Simple right? No! Not only was the manager approximately 17 years old, Chagson (sounds like Jason) arguing with me "No ma'am the veggie pizzas get wet because of all the toppings, it's not raw", when I pointed out the RAW middle of the crust he still kept arguing. I caved, "then when people order a veggie pizza they should be warned that it will be filled to approximately 15lbs of Chicago-style Pizza and it will be hard to eat, and wet too." Chagson kept going, I asked for the refund and then made one recommendation and one inquiry. First, when someone is not satisfied with a product the manager does not usually stand at the counter in front of staff and customers arguing- I highly recommend this behavior be avoided. Thus, I inquired to whom his manager was and to Fran: you need to do better, Chagson was not only argumentative but he didn't even know the full procedure for a refund. He had no clue if the refund was immediate or would take a few days, nothing. WHY IS THIS YOUR MANAGER? This is a newer busy location. That being said: I'll drive the extra miles on Coors to go to the Rancho/Cottonwood area so that I can have trusted VEGGIE PIZZA made the same since I was in high school (early 2000's). read more

I am updating my review and adding a star. After I talked to a manager that same night- he compensated most of the cost of my pizza, gave me a free brownie and said he would work to fix whatever issue had caused my pizza to be double the wait I was told. I'm glad the young manager who stepped up to make this situation better had great customer service skills. They always have great food, but not at a 55 minute wait on a call ahead order! One - it's Dion's - But - I was ready to do a one-star review and complain about the poor service, the wrong order, and everything that went wrong today - but they had one saving grace - The manager - We went at approximately 2:30pm today, and, as stated our order was completely wrong - The pizza slices were cold, there was ice in my drink (I hate ice), and we ordered a Medium size salad and got the personal small size - I was ticked off - and everyone seemed harried and uninterested in the problem - Then the manager stepped up. I wish I got his name, but he was well-skilled in customer service. He heated up the pizza slices with a sincere apology - He gave us the correct size salad - and offered to refill my lemonade, but I don't like to waste, so I declined that - Then - they forgot the Greek dressing with my sandwich - dangit - He didn't flinch when I told him and he got me two Greek dressings - It could have been a fiasco, but I want to write this review and thank the manager for doing the right thing and remembering that it is the people who walk through the door that keep those doors open - and keeping those people walking through those doors is just as important - Yes, you are on the other side of town for us - but we will return - just keep those slices hot! I'm writing a review in hopes that Dion's goes back to the way it was. I always raved about the consistent service and consistently delicious food at this restaurant. Today was the third time I regretted choosing to eat their food. Three weeks ago my husband was told to pull around and our order would be brought around to our car. First time in all the years we've been picking up our order, they forgot about us. We waited a lot longer than we should have. Every time we order the crunchy spinach salad it's missing something. I don't know if you're out of cranberries or mushrooms, or if you forget to put it in the salad. Today we ordered the same salad in a family size, and there's so much water in the container and on the greens that I'll be surprised if it keeps for tomorrow. Please go back to being consistent! The food is always SUPER great at this location... however, I went last Monday and I placed an online order at 5:45.. showed up at 6(when it said it was going to be ready) and waited until 7:15 with a handful of others who were waiting just as long if not longer!!! I was in awe of how many of their staff wasn't helpful, they were so rude and were standing around... We had Sam and Brandon who were the only ones willing to help (they are absolutely, the best employees that place has! Thank you again!) The food here is delicious and I have never had any problems until recently.. my fiancé and I came to this location and ordered 2 subs with fruit and we both ended up getting the wrong subs with chips instead of the fruit.. on top of the 40 minute wait when we could clearly see some staff doing absolutely nothing.. hope management can fix this. read more

Today I ordered our pizza but had an allergy restriction and the staff was absolutely amazing. The hubby was craving some Dions so we called an order into this location since we were headed this way. We normally frequent a different location. Overall it was a good experience at the Coors location. A few minor improvements would have gotten the 5th star. Food was hot and fresh. They did forget my extra marinara for my cheese toast though and that was disappointing. We got a Dions special, turkey sub, and cheese toast. Other than the sauce the order was correct. Upon calling in we were told 35 minutes for pick up. Much longer than usual at our other location by no biggie we just cruised around for a bit. We got to the location at 40 minutes and had to wait in line for a tad so we were at about 50 minutes from time of call in and we still had to wait for the order for about 5 more minutes. Slightly annoying but it was doable. Staff was friendly and personable. The girl at the window was very nice and asked how we were etc. Overall a good experience with some very minor flaws that are easily overlooked. read more

Greeted me with a smile upon arrival, offered suggestions and to have substitutions for my gourmet Santorini pizza, read the order back for clarification (very appreciated since that avoid timely confusions) and since there is a wait for fresh pizza, offered me a water while I waited. It's the little things that leave the best and worse impressions and to say the least, this guy working the day after the 4th made me feel like he was happy to be there while some of us were celebrating our 4day weekend. I asked for the manager to share my experience, only to find out he was the manager. If he is trying all his team on this type of service, I will be happy to return. My biggest complaint is that the pizza is so Damn greasy you could ring out the grease like a wet towel, Idc what location it its. If you do take out dont set the pizza in the seat or you will stain your upholstery lol. read more

I love Dion's food as much if not more than the rest of New Mexico, however, the service at this Coors location was the worst I experienced in 15 years. The people were friendly, but I waited 29 minutes on top of the 30 minutes they told me it would be ready. The subs were ready, it's just that no one checked them to see who they went to.
