The takeout pho is killer and I love all of the rice dishes too. I've even tried some of the sandwiches. The smoothies are amazing too! One time I was sick and didn't want to spread germs so the girl I spoke with said for me to call when I arrived, stay in my car and she would run my food out and get my card! It was so nice, she even took the time to bring me a hot tea to go and told me to get better ‍ I've never had anything from this place that I didn't like. Cute little Vietnamese shop with banh mi as their top selling menu item. They recently installed digital menus which was nice to see. We got our usuals - Banh Mi Thit Nuong (grilled pork) and Thit Nguoi (cold cuts). They were just ok. Each bite had inconsistent flavor profile with sprinkled soy sauce seasoning throughout the baguette. Meat portions felt were a bit on the lacking side. The pickled veggies were a nice touch and the jalepenos were extra spicy so beware! Also tried their ca phe sua da (Vietnamese Iced Coffee) which tasted pretty much like the real deal but was not a fan by how overpriced it was. They only have one size but let me just say.. portions are enormous Usually leave with leftovers for another meal and I love how they do their beef tendon. It's an add on but they really show love: big chunks and plenty of good ol' collagen. Lastly, we love their bobas and drinks here. First time trying their Vietnamese coffee and it tasted more like a latte 10/10. This restaurant deserves more recognition. Okay this is just a local place that I've been meaning to try and I'm glad I did. I had a Banh Mi sandwich and tried the Pho. I've said in other reviews that the Vietnamese in this town has stiff competition because there are so many good spots. The Banh Mi was great, the ingredients were fresh and prepared well. The Pho was okay, my only issue is the protein portion in the soup seemed lacking. I've seen other places give a lot more meat. Other than that the size of the Pho is comparable to other places and just as enjoyable. I also had their mint tea which was great. This place is not fancy and can get a little busy. But the service is pretty fast and overall worth a shot if you want to try a new spot. read more

Love this place! This was my second visit here and I love the Banh mi's and pork bao and spring rolls! We also got the pho (forgot to snap a photo) and it was delicious as well maybe one of the best pho base broths I've ever had. This place is great for vegetarians and vegans. You can get tofu, or fake ham and other fake meat options which are quite tasty. You can get a good ramen bowl, spring rolls, a noodle bowl, all as vegan. All are fresh and tasty. The boba is good too. The owner is very friendly and caters well to the vegan community. They offer nice specials and participate in the vegan chef challenge yearly. It's a small place with a very casual atmosphere. Good for quick dine in or takeout. Leona Banh Mi a Vietnamese fast-casual counter-serve restaurant on Coors. Their specialties are bánh mì, vermicelli bowls, and pho with a few other assorted options, like bao. Patrons order at the front counter before choosing their own seating. There is both booth and regular table options. There are large signs explaining what bánh mì and pho are for those not familiar or who are trying Vietnamese cuisine for the first time. I had the bánh mì xìu mai (Vietnamese style meatballs), which was a nice foray into Vietnamese meatballs. I enjoyed them because they were flavorful and savory against the veggies. The cucumbers are fresh and not pickled, though I prefer the veggies pickled. That's just personal preference, though, since traditionally the cucumbers aren't pickled in bánh mì. There are no fish selections for the bánh mì (anchovies, sardines, etc.), so don't expect those. Patrons will need to ask for fish sauce, which is brought from the back in a to-go ramekin. As Vietnamese restaurants usually go, it's a casual, inexpensive pick. We both decided we'd be back and that it would be a good to-go option. There are no stairs into the venue and wheelchair users will have no issues at this establishment, including the restroom. read more

The spot was recommended to me by a friend over four years ago, but I'm so rarely on the west side that I had never checked it out. Wound up there over the weekend and I'm happy to report that it's a lovely little spot! I was SO impressed that there are SIX different vegan banh mi options. Plus vegan options for every other category on the menu, including bao, spring/egg rolls, and the vermicelli/bun plates. It's so sad that I live so far away. We tried two of the banh mi flavors, fried tofu and vegan ham. They were both good, although I preferred the tofu. But I love tofu. It would have been cheaper to split a 12", but we wanted to try both flavors and I'm glad we did. My partner also enjoyed a Vietnamese iced coffee. It was large, like boba style, so definitely a good value for the money. My only complaints about the food was that there weren't any jalapeños or mayo on the sandwich. I thought that was standard for banh mi but it's possible that's just something that varies by region. Overall I would definitely return! TLDR: do not recommend unless you have a death wish First, let me start by saying I love Asian food. I'm Asian and it's my favorite genre of takeout. I wanted to like this place, like every new Asian restaurant I try. Let's start with the appetizers: the spring rolls with shrimp were aight. The usual noodles and a handful of lettuce. Nothing exciting there. The steamed vegan bao was ok. They had it wrapped in plastic wrap so it had gotten rather gooey and sticky on the ride over. If they had let it breathe, maybe it would've been fluffy. We'll never know. Pro tip: there's a paper lining the bottom so don't forget to peel it off and eat it like me. The steam had congealed it to the bun so I couldn't see it. And be careful of the chile/hoisin sauce it comes with. It's THE saltiest condiment I've ever had in my life. Use the TINIEST little smears. I wonder what kind of science experiment they did to pack so much sodium in it. The bun itself was ok tasting- I love baos so I forgave it for being so soggy. The dish that almost killed me was the grilled chicken salad with rice. The chicken was SO DRYYYYYYY and chewy. Look at the photos. There were like 3 pieces that were end pieces? Those end pieces must've been left out to dry in the NM sun for a least a week. I have never in my life experienced such dry chicken. I don't think I could make chicken that dry if I tried! I had to spit one mouthful out because I honesty thought I would choke if I tried to swallow. So if you want to try this dish despite my warnings, get your affairs in order first! Have someone in the room with you making sure you're safe! Suffice it to say- I will never order from here again. read more

Sweet lil strip mall hole in the wall off Coors. Quiet spot to do some paperwork. Tried the (#19) vegan bao and the (#14) vegan Korean spicy b'ef (tempeh). The bao dough was pretty sweet with a stickier texture than I typically prefer. It was cumbersome to eat, as the dough was sticking to my fingers. It must have been premade, as I heard the microwave go off. This was confirmed once I unwrapped it and found it to be still wrapped up in plastic cling film, with that ever so telling melding between hot food and hot plastic wrap. There's also a small paper underneath, so be sure to peel that off before taking a bite. The filling was pretty good, mushrooms and one single piece of tofu.. but nothing to write home about. The bahn mi was heated too. The bun was hot dog sized, with a good crunchy exterior. The tempeh was just ok. Despite its name, the sandwich wasn't spicy at all. It looked better than the bao but was generally lackluster, kind of like if APS food service made a bahn mi. I will definitely return and try some other things on the menu. Maybe it was an off day, but my overall experience was super meh. Both items were served with a side of what seemed to be gochujang and hoisin combined, also meh. It was cold inside but they turned on the heat after I went to grab my coat. Their pos system is set to charge you a set tip (adjustable) for the counter service, which is fine.. but it's one of those slide adjustable ones, so it's hard to put in an even dollar amount. Srolling through Yelp for a good lunch spot, this place popped up. I was a little hesitant; Albuquerque for Banh Mi? Didn't really seem like a fit. But I haven't had one in a long while so I decided to take a stab at it. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was transported back to the Tenderloin district in San Francisco-- open seating tables, kind of messy, boxes in the corner-- felt like home, and I was excited. I decided on the traditional with a side of egg rolls. The egg rolls were delicious. Perfectly crispy, not overly fried. The rice wrap was not too thick, like a lot of places, so it had this amazing flakey crunch. Phenomenal. Time for the Banh Mi. At first glance I had high hopes. They didn't try to reinvent anything, just a beautifully perfect sandwich. First bite was heaven, all the flavors coming together from the pork and the pate to the pickled veggies. Food is great but ever since they have gotten more customers they have been downgrading their to-go packaging to very cheap packaging. I purchased two to-go orders of Pho and by the time I got home the broth in one of them was completely empty. The new containers are extremely cheap and flimsy and pouring hot soup into them just makes them extremely fragile. I would NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING TAKEOUT from this place anymore. It's lunch time, we're hungry and looking for something different. Our foray brings us to a small strip mall - you know the type we drive by it every day without paying much attention to it. We walked into a tiny store - maybe 6 tables. We placed our order at the counter, grabbed our drinks from the cooler and found a table. We waited for an order of shrimp spring rolls, a Meatball Pho and the Banh Mi(sandwich) Marinated Chicken. The spring rolls were wrapped in a translucent rice paper and were accompanied by a sweet peanut sauce. A nice way ti start. The meatball pho was just roughy for a cold day. It was hot and was absolutely delicious. There were plenty of meatballs in the soup plus Bok Choi, scallions and noodles. The Banh Mi was flavorful and loaded with chicken and veggies. Too Line: Out of state dining partners passing through the Duke City chose Leona Banh Mi as their venue du jour for lunch. Lucky choice!! We caught the restaurant at opening time, so had the place to ourselves. Meal was four pork eggrolls to start, a #35 BBQ pork vermicelli salad, a #30 pork marinated in Leona sauce vermicelli salad, a #8 lemongrass marinated pork banh mi sandwich, an order of #20 bao buns, and three different flavors of boba smoothies. Portions were def substantial, plenty big! Total ring out for three diners getting well stuffed was a hair under $63. Not bad given generosity of portions & high tastiness of the food. Special note of their hot sauce that appeared to be a combination of brown slightly fish sauce smelling thick sauce spooned alongside a healthy scoop of what appeared to be & tasted like Sriracha sauce. Nicely spicely!!! Scorching hot with a lot of actual garlicky chile flavor coming into play, not just brutal heat lacking a taste to justify the burn. While the heat came on screaming, it faded quickly enough that any lingering burn didn't keep you from wanting to hit it again. Definitely brought leftover home for application to eggs, proteins, PBJ toast, cottage cheese (added pickled onion & pickled beets too), whatever & everything. I love this place, great food. Today I had a horrible experience with the cashier. Her name is Arlena, when she charged me for the food there was no option for a tip, she just had me sign. The reason there was no option was because she had already pre selected the tip. I was going to leave a tip but was confused when there wasn't an option to leave a tip. When I called and asked for a manager she said they are rarely there and there was no one I could talk to. I told her if she wanted a tip she should have given me the option to leave one. The pork bao bun is amazing - first off it is huge (it basically fits half an egg with a huge ball of meat) and always the perfect texture for bao. The banh mi always tastes so fresh with the cucumbers, carrots, and other veggies. The bread is toasted but still soft. The logo on their coffee is so cute and the coffee within the adorable cup gives me that hit of caffeine I need. I truly don't have a bad thing to say about this place. We ordered a bowl of rare steak pho and a 6" chicken banh mi. My girlfriend also got a boba green tea. Whole order barely broke twenty dollars. Hard to argue with those prices! The speed of service was quite fast, with the pho+toppings arriving first. I stirred in the bean sprouts and jalapeño slices, before asking the waitress for extra cilantro, and heck, extra jalapeño as well. Finally, my bowl loaded up, I began to eat. Delicious. The noodles were cooked nicely, and the broth had every flavor I love. Cilantro and onion was the real hero though, making every bite a tasty treat. Plenty of meat, too. The serving size was enough to share, and I did. (They offer wooden chopsticks or a fork; BYO chopsticks if you like 'em sturdier.) Next, the banh mi. In my experience, the only surefire way to not do this sandwich right is less-than-fresh ingredients. Not a concern at Leona, thankfully. The chicken and cucumbers were both crisp and delicious. The cilantro, pickled carrots and daikon radish combined for a delicious taste. The baguette was also soft and flaky. Big yum. The waitress was awesome, making sure our drinks stayed full and attending to whatever requests we had. I was craving a Banh Mi sandwhich, did a quick search and headed right down Coors for a DELICIOUS sandwhich and PERFECT Thai tea. Let me just say that Banh Mi Sandwhiches and Thai Tea might be on the list of things I want my final meal to include, and I'd be okay if they came from Leona Banh Mi. The meat was decently flavorful but had a lot of fatty portions on it that I had to take out. The chili dipping sauce was good. Veggies were fresh. The peach tea was good, boba were soft and seemed fresh. I also had some of a pork bao which was really delicious! Overall the food/drinks were pretty good, but the service was lacking. The cashier didn't seem too interested in us being there and didn't say much. Additionally, the ambience was kind of weird.
