An update. It's been many years since I last reviewed and I feel like it's improved. I've become a big fan of their BLT, on sourdough, add avocado and I switch out mustard for the mayo. It's always fresh, toasty and good. My husband has tried a variety of menu items lately and he keeps asking to go back. I really love their strawberry shortcake but at 940 calories I skip it almost always! If you're not worried about calories it's super Yummy! Great staple, good choices. Including a salad bar. Those are hard to come by these days. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Yankee sandwich with 3/4lb of pastrami and corned beef, pickle spear and salt and vinegar chips

Born in Brooklyn, raised in Long Island my bar for corned beef and pastrami sandwiches is pretty high. 5 stars goes to the likes of Katz's, 2nd Avenue and Carnegie delis in NYC. Getting a Jones for one of those sandwiches here in Albuquerque has you stymied. A friend mentioned giving Jason's a try so I did. Ordering on line was easy and pick up was as well due to Covid restrictions. My wife ordered the pastrami on wheat 1/2lb of meat with a side of salt and vinegar chips. I had to go for the Yankee 3/4 lb of pastrami and corned beef with a slice of Swiss cheese and salt and vinegar chips as well. Both sandwiches come with individually wrapped pickles spears. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The meat was exceptionally lean with very little fat and quite tasty. A solid 4 star review.

So thankful for the salad bar

My family and I visit here many times. We always get great service and served with a smile. This was our go to place during the pandemic (curbside) when I didn't want to cook. I'm thankful their open again for business. The salad bar is my favorite although they may not have a huge selection, it definitely works for my family and I. Plus their menu is huge. They offer so much variety of entrees. Even down to fettuccine Alfredo. A family favorite. The soups are great too. Keep up the good work!

First time here from Cali. I ordered the half corned beef sandwich and cup of gumbo soup. She had the roast beef and tomato soup. The meats were kinda dry but the soup hit the spot. I would come and try the salad bar only.

I had a delightful breakfast sandwich, but I haven't recovered from the shock of walking into a deli that doesn't serve bagels. WTAF?

It was extremely busy and loud. I didn't wait in line to order, but it took them 50 minutes to prepare our salads. The service wasn't very friendly or helpful at first. I'm hoping it was because they were so busy. We had to leave 10 minutes after getting our salads so I had to take most of it home which was disappointing. On a good note, the salads were amazing. They were the best salads I've ever tasted which I why I'm giving three stars instead of less. My mom ordered the 505 Cobb and they forgot her chicken which was frustrating after waiting for nearly an hour. However, they did make up for it by making her extra chicken! And their chicken was absolutely delicious!! I ordered Persephone's Lunch which was outstanding. I added chicken to it which made it nearly $20 for a bowl salad. The seating is open and you order and sit down wherever you can find. The seating is hard on your backside and uncomfortable, especially when waiting for so long. The salads and fresh ingredients are delectable. If I ever return, it will be a to go order that is put in very early. Cheers!

First on service - I ordered carry out, and the woman who took my order over the phone was extremely kind. Food - holy cow it was great! I had the sixty six burger with the hatch chilis, and it was a phenomenal burger. Highly recommend upgrading to the truffle fries, worth the extra two bucks!! If I lived here I know I would be a regular and ensure I tried out the entire menu!

We went with the Korean Chicken bites, the Margarita Flatbread, & the green chilli cheeseburger. The Chicken bites were terrible. Taste wasn't great at all, they were very very fried, but not in a good way. I love some good crunchy fried chicken but these just were not it! The flavor, the texture, none of it was right. The Margarita Flatbread was med. Taste was pretty good, but it was soggy and didn't hold up well at all. That said it was the best of the 3 things we did get. Unfortunately, that's not saying much..... The burger was okay also. Not bad by any means, but nothing special at all either....considering there's a burger place next door I thought the burger would be able to compete with the neighbor, but trust me if you want a burger, go next door! They don't put sauce on it at all, no nothing. Just straight up patty, cheese and bun. Only my 6 year old cousin eats like that.....I did add some mayo and ketchup, which helped, but still not a great burger.... The bun didn't add much for us either, even though it was baked in house with green chilli....A simple brioche would be better imo... The fries with the burger were actually the best single item of the experience. Their fries are really good! So good that I was going to eat every single one of them but instead my waiter just came and took my plate before I had finished the last 10 or so. No are you finished yet, or anything, just grabbed it, turned and left. I was so shocked I didn't even have time to say I'm not done with that. He left the crummy chicken bites we weren't eating though..... LOL Seriously don't touch my plate unless it's empty, or you ask first! Since it was a small amount I let it slide and didn't reduce his tip because the rest of the service was actually pretty good overall..... I definitely 100% will not be back here though, there's much better food in the area.

Sadly, we found kind of a mixed bag. First, the standout items. The margaritas were fantastic; some of the best we've had in the USA and extremely generous. The pinto bean sides were some of the best we've had since returning to the States in 2013. Perhaps not quite as great as those of the shuttered El Cotorro but still stellar. Next, the tacos. We tried only two of the several tacos on offer - The El Pastor and the Pescado. Both were served in what was called "corn tortillas" but these differed from virtually any corn tortillas we've ever had in Mexico or elsewhere. They were at least twice as thick as your typical corn tortilla found in just about all Mexican taco places in Mexico and elsewhere. The consistency and taste were quite different from your normal corn tortilla also. In fact, they really didn't seem to have much taste at all, of corn or anything else. Now to the fillings. At the aforementioned El Cotorro, the meat for the Al Pastor tacos was cooked on a vertical rotating spit which was the only way we ever saw it cooked in Mexico. The meat La Reforma used in their al pastor tacos was more chunky and way drier than any we ever had in Mexico or at El Cotorro. It didn't taste similar to any al pastor tacos were ever had in Mexico. It also kind of seemed like it wasn't cooked recently whereas in Mexico you can watch the cook with a large knife carve off the meat from the vertical spit right in front of you. Usually the time between the carving and it sitting in front of you is under 10 seconds. The fish taco at La Reforma was disappointing. The fish resembled a fish stick but one without much flavor. We wouldn't order it again. We gave the mini-churros a try for dessert. Because they were so small, they were way crispier than your typical regular-sized churro. We might return but we'd skip the al pastor and the fish tacos and try some of the other tacos. But we strongly suggest that they dump their current "corn tortillas" because they're not that good. Way too thick and virtually tasteless. Lo siento. Kudos for the margaritas and the beans. The rest of what we tried didn't live up to the recent glowing review in the ABQ Journal.

We walked in, and the place was a little crowded, but we were still sat pretty quickly. I liked the atmosphere of the place because it seemed very open, inviting, and had a certain local charm to it. As soon as my dining companion saw the people around us getting their food delivered it looked so good she no longer remembered what we came for and we ended up ordering something completely different. We didn't wait long for our waitress to come over. She was very nice and attentive I asked her for a drink recommendations, and she mentioned some good ones. Considering the day before was New Year's Eve and I probably should've took a break from drinking, I said say screw it and got something light. It was a blood orange cider, and it was delicious, I was not expecting it to taste like that! Unable to make our minds up, we decided to split a salad and pizza. For the salad I wanted to get the Valley grande, but we compromised and got the brazos which was essentially a Caesar salad. That's how it was huge. We had enough to share and more, it was also tasty, the dressing. You could tell was definitely house made. For the pizza we decided to get a split half truchas and half chimayo (my half) and it was amazing the flavor was great and the topping fresh. Although next time I will ask for well done. On to dessert. The best thing we ordered all night was the Apple calzone. It seemed to be the size of a little football and came with two scoops of ice cream. I could tell it was made to order and it was absolutely delicious! We cannot wait to go back.
