My husband and I visit family twice a year in Albuquerque we went for a stroll in the very cute area Corrales. I wanted to sit outside on this beautiful day and have wine. We sat in the bar area. It is cozy and quaint with nice abstract artwork on the wall. It's a rustic and contemporary style. Beyond Charming. The staff was very nice. We decided on a flight of wine. The price point was great at only $25. I was excited because two of the whites i wanted was on the flight. She brought out a tower of glasses with our wines. 2 of the wines i wanted were not in the flight. The restaurant was either out of the wine or they no longer carry that wine. I really wish the menu and server would be updated on the wine. I had high expectations on the wine flight. I Wouid have chose a cocktail instead of wine flight. You asked what went well....? Our server Ryan was GREAT! We enjoyed Easter Brunch at Indigo Crow. We were part of the last seating they had been swamped all day and our waiter Ryan gave us 100% of himself. He smiled, answered our questions and always checked on us. Love the ambiance, and the menu selection was the perfect balance of options without being overwhelming. Everything we ordered was delicious! A special shout out to the lobster ravioli, which was a little on the salty side but super tasty, and the risotto, which was incredible. If you get tired of the ubiquitous New Mexican fare offed at many places in the area The Indigo Crow Cafe offers so many really delicious alternatives. We opted for the Crab Cakes, the Ahi salad and the Roast beef sandwich. Starting with the beef, which is really a French Dip complete with horseradish and an jius. It was quite delicious, quality beef on a wonderful roll. and as mentioned a nice "classic" break from the standard fare offed at most places around town. The Crab cakes were very flavorful and had a good amount of crab which can sometimes be a problem. Not here though. And the seared Ahi Salad had an amazing amount of perfectly seared ahi. Before anyone gets upset - 3 Stars = Okay. My experience here was "okay". We went for Sunday brunch. I called ahead to see what time they opened because google and their website had conflicting hours. Well, the girl I spoke with on the phone told me 10 am. Turns out - they open at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. So I waited 30 minutes (there was a local farmer's market so I hung out there). Upon return, we were seated inside and there were so many flies! I had gone in the summer time and there was several flies inside the restaurant that made the entire dining experience distracting. Then I asked about biscuits and gravy because I saw this option on the online menu - well - the online menu was not updated and their in person menu is different. So conflicting hours online, conflicting menu online, even calling I was given misinformation. Now the food. It honestly was not memorable. I felt like everything I ate, I could make at home. Nothing tasted "out of this world" or "amazing". It was average/okay. So between the misinformation, the flies, and the mediocre food...it was an okay experience. We had a dining party of 6, and after having had a meal including appetizers, drinks, main courses, and desserts - the manager hovered over our table pointing to his watch several times towards the wait staff, to make us feel as if we were an inconvenience versus valued customers; the bill was quite large, but in no way did we feel that we could stay any longer to enjoy ourselves. They made it quite obvious they wanted to turn the table over to make more money off of other customers. Once we were done and paid the bill, it was good riddance. The dining area was so dark, we had to grab the lighting on the table or our phones to read the menu. As I looked around at other tables, they were doing the same thing. They squish so many diners in a very small amount of space that it was loud and very difficult to understand each other and our waiter. One toilet for the guys and one for the girl with the line forming by the bar, seeming to be in the way of everyone, not ideal. What a bad taste it left in our mouths, feeling rushed to leave. For our entrees we got the Salmon and the Filet. The filet was perfectly cooked and the mushroom Demi glace was perfect, mashed potatoes were okay. The Salmon came with a wild rice pilaf. I'd say the rice was my only disappointment of the night. It was just too hard for me. The clear winner was the filet. I would order that again. Lots of dessert options and we choose the Key Lime Pie and the Chocolate Lava Cake. My spouse loved the Key Lime pie and the lava cake was an amazing dessert. Great company had fun even with lukewarm old burnt coffee. Really bad, no refill offered. I was maitre de for fine dining at Al Montes 40 years ago so I know the business. The floor manager was sloppy in dress and didn't check on the guests. He just ran the pickup windows from the kitchen. Very disappointing dining experience. This is our second time coming here and so far it's been absolutely Devine every time! The food is spot on with the best flavor combinations and ingredients. The Catalina salad was soupy and the seared ahi had sesame seeds added to it without being seared. Additionally, the mussels tasted like Tabasco was added to the tomato sauce. The brie appetizer with a mostarda-like cherry and "pickled" fruit accent was tasty and tangy with sweetness that was appreciated. Our group enjoyed all the dishes served. Our server promised 2 servings of the sourdough bread after we ordered it, which we "didn't have to worry" about according to him, but we did. It didn't show up until halfway through our entrees and needed prompting a few times. We sat outside on the patio and it was a bit too dark and cramped and wished our second heater nearby, got turned on, but we had a great time regardless.
