This place is a dream come true for desserts. I had the chicken Cajun sandwich, it has some greens on it with a special delicate dressing that was unique. The cauliflowers are amazing, light breaded, I chose the honey side, they have buffalo dressing too. People behind the counter are young happy professionals. Place is really nice.

I have been eating at flying star for my whole life and I've had issues with them over the years- constantly taking off my favorite dishes. but now there is one remaining dish that I really like which is their chicken couscous, which I really appreciate cause it's got the nice chicken, the couscous and the broccoli. today however, I ordered delivery and got the weirdest meal ever where it has the chicken and the couscous but instead gave me a heaping pile of mushrooms and spinach in it and decrease the amount of couscous leaving me with barely a meal and feeling very hungry after. this is the most disappointing meal I've gotten from flying star in a long time. disappointing that they managed to ruin the one meal that I actually still enjoy going back there for

Ask the Community - Flying Star Café

Is the corn chowder vegetarian?

Hi Roberta, Yes - the Green Chile Corn Chowder is vegetarian! This savory soup is packed with four kinds of roasted New Mexico Hatch chiles (including green chiles, poblanos, and jalapenos) along with corn, Yukon gold potatoes, and roasted…

Are you suppose to tip?

Yes! A full 15% or 20% is not necessary, but these servers (like almost all others in New Mexico) make less that $10 an hour. Much of their income is in tips. So always add a little something on your receipt! or in the jar. :-]

I absolutely love this place. I've been here a handful of times now, and every visit has been a…read moregood one. The kids are happy, I'm happy, and honestly, that's a successful breakfast in my book. The only downside is the limited seating. It's a smaller location, so it can fill up quickly, especially during the breakfast rush. If you happen to come during a really busy time, you may have to wait a bit to find a table. That said, I don't think it takes away from the experience you just have to time it right. We usually come for breakfast since they're open for breakfast and lunch, and this time I tried the Grande burrito. And let me tell you, "Grande" is not an exaggeration. That is a LOT of food. I got the bacon-smothered burrito with red chile, and it was delicious. Unfortunately, I could not finish it. I do wish there was something between the Grande and Junior because the Grande is a serious commitment, and I'm not sure the Junior would be enough. I'll have to try it next time and find out. My daughter ordered the steak sandwich, which comes with an Angus sirloin steak on Texas toast. It looked a little wild when it came out, but she ate it and said it was delicious, so apparently the presentation was just part of the experience. My son got the sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. He ate the whole thing, so clearly he approved. His only complaint was that the biscuit kept falling apart, but considering he's a little kid, I'm going to blame that one on the user rather than the biscuit. The staff has always been friendly during our visits. On this particular morning, a gentleman came around several times to refill our house coffee, which I always appreciate. Good service and a full coffee cup go a long way. And if you're into pastries and coffee, they have plenty of options. I've tried their blueberry muffin, and it is divine. They also have different baked scones, and I've had their lattes and macchiatos, which have all been really good. I still need to come back during the lunch hours because there are several things I want to try. The hot beef sundae caught my attention, and the Philly also looked really good. There are so many different options that I feel like I could keep coming back and ordering something different every time. This is definitely the kind of place where you can stop in, grab something really good, enjoy a little coffee, and get on with your morning. It's casual, welcoming, and consistently good. Limited seating is really my only complaint. Otherwise, I've been here multiple times and have yet to leave disappointed. Definitely a must-try!

The venue instantly charmed me with its classic American aesthetic recalling the sophisticated, welcoming cafe style I used to adore in Georgia. Arrival was effortlessly smooth with convenient parking positioned right out front, complemented by a lovely, breezy outdoor seating area that creates a delightful ambiance for an outdoor lunch. Stepping inside, the air is filled with the comforting aroma of fresh, high-quality coffee. The interior is spotlessly clean, pristine, and wonderfully organized, complete with a spectacular selection of artisanal breads and baked goods. The hospitality was top-tier from the start; the staff member who took my order was exceptionally warm, gracious, and attentive, setting a polished tone for the visit. To pair with my midday meal, I ordered my personal favorite a vanilla latte which arrived exquisitely crafted, smooth, and perfectly warm. For my main course, I selected the Prosciutto toast, which proved to be an absolute culinary triumph vibrant, wonderfully balanced, and executed with superb ingredient quality. Between the spotless environment, charming decor, divine espresso offerings, and stellar service, The Grove Cafe & Market earns full marks from me. A thoroughly marvelous spot I shall most certainly be returning

It has a modern, bright, aesthetic vibe with marble-style tables, clean decor, and a great atmosphere to sit and hang out. Visually, it checks all the boxes for a trendy brunch spot. The staff were very kind and went out of their way to be helpful and attentive to all guests. Unfortunately, the food and value simply don't match the ambiance. We ordered two straightforward breakfast plates and iced coffees, and the bill came out to around $40--which feels way too expensive for what actually ends up on your plate. The first dish was a basic breakfast sandwich on an English muffin served with a small side ramekin of kale salad. While the presentation was neat, the sandwich itself was fairly standard and underwhelming for the price tag. The second plate was a traditional breakfast layout featuring scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, jam, and the same small kale side. The eggs were cooked fine and the bacon was crisp, but there was nothing unique or memorable about the flavors to justify charging high-end prices for staple breakfast ingredients.  All in all, while the aesthetic and atmosphere are definitely inviting, paying $40 for two plain breakfast plates leaves a sour taste. If you're looking for an impressive food experience to match the high price point, you might end up

The delicious cold brew and the even more delicious nitro cold brew is only $3! The pour-over is also really, really good -- and so are the doughnuts. The staff is warm and friendly. The restrooms are a paradise -- that's the only real way to describe them. And, of course, there is ample parking. Definitely drop by.
