I had been craving a Reuben sandwich for a while and looked up where the best was in Abq.... I saw Jason's deli on the list... and the pics looked exactly what I was looking for. I had been there in the past.... But hadn't been back in years as they stopped selling the egg salad sandwiches I used to go for.... Well man... have I been missing out! We got there and it was pretty busy, but still a lot of open tables. It looked like a chess team had went to practice or have a match! It was fun to listen to and watch and my son was happy to see other kids his age there too! You have to order at the counter and then they deliver your food to you. We were all debating what we were gonna get, but the woman who took our order was friendly and patient. She made suggestions on what she liked and ordered which was much appreciated! We placed our order and our food was out in less than 10 min. Hot, exactly as pictured from their menu (which 90% of the time is never the case...) and delicious! My husband got the New Yorker which was HUGE to say the least... I got the Reuben which also was HUGE and delicious! My son got pasta which he inhaled and really enjoyed. He also loved the fact that there was free ice cream for dessert! He wants to go back already! We will be returning soon! I love this Jason's Deli, honestly. I work right by it and it's always so good no matter what I order. Today Mikayla seriously saved me. I hadn't eaten all day and was STARVING, but I had no idea what I wanted (and it definitely wasn't my usual). She took the time to go through the menu with me and helped me figure it out. I've been working since 9AM with zero food and barely functioning brain cells, so THANK YOU Paseo Jason's Deli I was so food-frustrated I almost went home without dinner. First time visiting and I was shocked at the size of the location and offerings! Walked in and was wow'd by this clean the restaurant was and his friendly the staff was! I'd never looked at the menu and was a bit overwhelmed by all of the offerings thus opted for the salad bar. Couldn't believe the toppings included for under $11! Every dressing you could imagine, fresh salads and veggies and every option in between. Delighted by how well kept the salad bar was and if I wanted seconds, I could go back for another plate. Free soft serve ice cream is also great perk! My husband got a French dip and it too was super! Prompt service, very clean inside, friendly employees... Had a small get together the other night with a couple of friends and decided that we would get sandwiches for dinner. We thought it would be quick and relatively inexpensive to do so and we all like Jason's Deli so that's what we went with. Two of us had Reuben the Great with chips and another of us had half a sandwich with a fruit cup. The total was just shy of $65! We didn't get anything fancy or overly expensive. Like I said, three sandwiches that come with sides. I do understand that the cost of everything has gone up but I have to say that I will not be ordering from Jason's again given the cost of this last order. The food was excellent and the delivery was fine and yes, I could go to the restaurant myself to avoid any delivery charges, but unfortunately that is not an option for me. I still highly recommend Jason's, strictly based on the food, which of course is of the upmost importance. They have decent portions but again, three sandwiches with bagged chips or a quarter cup of fruit (if that) should not cost $65. Unfortunately, my old favorite is now out of my price range. Even though this location is a little farther for us we like going to this location. Staff is friendly but I have to give kudos to Dalia for keeping up cleaning the tables and sweeping. You can tell when shes not there. Restaurant is in disarray if she is not there. Also kudos to Alex who has been training, he does a great job cleaning up after people mess up the salad bar area. Why can't they put their plate over the item they are putting on their plates. Looks like kindergarteners are using the salad bar. But Alex is doing a great job keeping the bar clean. This was my first time trying Jason's Deli. I got takeout for lunch and ordered the Ultimate BLT bowl with no chopped avocado, as well as a chocolate chip cookie. The bowl cost $9.79 and the cookie was $1.69. The BLT bowl comes with chicken breast, quinoa, romaine lettuce, bacon, pickled red onions, a hard boiled egg, chopped avocado, and ranch on the side. My favorite ingredient was the pickled red onions. The ingredients were all fresh and crispy. I would have liked an additional flavor profile in the bowl before the ranch on the side, such as an oil or vinaigrette. The deli was very busy. They have an extensive salad bar that I'm looking forward to trying next time; it has a lot of options and looked appetizing. My whole family can always find something at Jason's. LOTS of choices: soups, salad, potatoes and of course sandwiches. Hands down better than Panera, which is too "foofy" according to the guys. Really like the Potato soup, broccoli cheddar, veggie and new chicken n rice. They're really enjoyable during our snowy winters. Potatoes are the size of footballs! Not sure where they get these giants, but know they are HUGE. Inside is always clean, tables bused and friendly employees. Unlike McDonald's, their ice cream maker is always working! Gave 4 stars instead of 5 for two things: 1) their rewards scanner never works, so you have to email and ask for points. 2) very inconsistent. On 07/11/2024 went for dinner to Jason's Deli #004 located at 535 Dowlen Rd. ,Beaumont, Texas77706. Me and my brother ordered Kid's Cheese Pizza and Muffaletta Turkey Special Sandwich with invoice of $22.05. The food was fresh and tasted great. We liked it very much. On 07/12/2024 went back for dinner again, ordered the same thing with invoice of $26.14. This time the food was not the same quality and did not taste good as the day before. The employees and servers did not know what they were doing and did not know how to operate the cash register. When we complained, they looked at us with strange eyes look and walked away. On this they day the workers and crews and manager different from the day before. The same Restaurant serve people two different meals from good to bad. There is none which is KINDA IMPORTANT SINCE I ORDERED SOUP! My mom honks the horn to get her attention cause my window side doesn't roll down she ignores me and walks off. So I go in and ask for a spoon again acting like this is a huge request she makes a comment "nobody likes to be honked at" I said "if you did your job right I wouldn't have had to" and walked out. She was wearing a red shirt and had blonde hair. The ticket says Mia was the cashier but I don't know if that's the same person who helped me. I will NOT be returning. She was rude from the get go and isn't doing your store any favors with the constant attitude she is throwing around. Her demeanor spoke volumes and that was her just walking out to give me my food. When I got to my room and pulled out the dish I thought 'damn, maybe I misjudged this place'. Nope, it simply was not good. I'll start with the most obvious: previously cooked microwaved food. As such, some of it was lava hot, burn your mouth while other bites were cold. Now the worst part; their BBQ sauce can be described as sugar paste! It was a sugar dish with a hint of potato. This is a 'go to' place for us. Last night we had a Reuben sandwich (huge) and a Chicken Panini sandwich. The sandwiches were excellent! We also each had the salad bar - very good. This is an era where many restaurants have few staff. What we noticed here were a man constantly picking up plates and cleaning off tables after people had left, a woman constantly at the salad bar refreshing items (from the nearby frig) and cleaning things off, and another woman running orders to tables. The staff was friendly and helpful. That salad bar in itself is a big draw for us - and less than $ 7 each! Loads of choices of veggies, pasta, small beets, olives, croutons, mini muffins. I got the Italian, it was barely edible. I asked for no lettuce, but instead got no tomatoes. The bread was horrible!!! I'm not even joking. There was this shredded cheese on the bottom of the sandwich that didn't even melt because it was cold. Then there was this chopped hot pepper sauce sitting on top of the meat. It completely saturated the taste, and all I got was this burning heat. The menu doesn't mention any hot peppers. The sandwich itself only had ham and salami. That's barley an Italian. There is a u oversaw definition of what an Italian sub is, and this does not fit the description. My friend got the BLT. She asked for it with no egg. Guess who got an egg?!? They also left off the avocado, and the lady taking the order asked specifically if avocado was ok. She received an affirmative to that, yet still, there was no avocado. Review of this visit only - we ordered the Papa Joe, beef stew, and a kid's hot dog. My beef stew was lukewarm, the Papa Joe had either over-toasted or stale bread, and the hot dog was a small scale disaster. The first hot dog was served with a refrigerated interior (yuck), my husband brought it back to the counter. The second hot dog, 10 minutes later, was burnt, dessicated, and overdone. The third one was okay but by that point we were tired of sending the dogs back. The manager came and checked on us at the second hot dog, and he was the one who took the burnt dog back. He comped the hot dog off our bill. I hate being that person who sends food back umpteen times, but after having gone through the same food safety training that the line cooks have gone through, I just couldn't let my tiny kid eat such iffy food. The menu was quite extensive and would be a perfect lunch spot to meet at. Parking outside of Jason's Deli can be tricky especially during peak lunch hours as there are lots of other lunch spots in the same area and share the same parking lot. Still eating but I pretty much know what I want to say. I walked in and it's been below sub par to say the least. My dining partner looked at a menu and then ordered. The young lady at the counter cashed us out and we went out way. I got salad from the bar and noticed the spinach leafs were not only nearly out, but moldy. So I didn't have any and had the greens mix with Italian dressing, feta cheese crumbles, cherry tomatoes, some olives. Of that the nicest thing I can say was the cherry tomatoes tasted good. The rest tasted old, the lettuce as if it's been out of an old bag. No slime (indicative of old lettuce), but didn't taste fresh. I was tempted to try go to the counter and ask if it was fresh. The broccoli soup was a bit disappointing as well, my side with my salad bar. Warmer than the other soup( next paragraph). I did get two by accident. The man who handed it out let me have a second because it wasn't marked and said he'd have to throw it anyway. So a one up, kind of. But it still tasted chalky, made me wonder why I didn't just buy a soup mix from the grocery store and make some myself. So then my partner had his meal put down on the table. Rachel with chicken pot pie soup. The soup was near cold. This is a dairy base, right? Are you out of your mind? If that's not to temp, what else isn't? At least my soup was hot in the middle, this was lukewarm to the touch. If there's a microwave, I'd bet it was used because the outside of the cup was warmer than the soup itself. And all of this was only after we sat down, we had to switch tables because the one we picked on the west side of the dining room, nobody bothered to clean the seats on the booth. I'm wearing white, how hard is it to clean a booth? Then once we chose a new table near the salad bar, I was able to see 7 more tables that had not been cleaned either. And not just one plate and a cup, each table had at least 4 to 5 plates and with napkins. Only once we left did we see someone beginning to clean. We had been there for 30 minutes. No regular sweetened tea in the dispenser. I could go on and on. What it comes down to is service at this location has gone downhill consistently. The food, the staff, the cleanliness. There's no point. Next time I'll drive to uptown because my problems there have been slim compared to this location. Mind you, this was my first visit back in 8 months. People standing around while the lobby looks like a disaster, and no one can be bothered. Literally three people standing around, and I wanted to yell at them. It doesn't take a specialty degree or job title to clean a table. Clearly here, it does. But looking at consideration. If there's 3 people standing around, and tables that could be cleaned, maybe help? It's initiative and it's something you never see here. Also it seemed it took 3 to 4 people to help edit something on a register making a loud noise. Clearly what was going on there, and elsewhere was more important than having somewhere clean for me and other paying patrons to eat my food. You don't respect us, and not yourselves. Because if you did, the lobby would be spotless. So for that, this visit is my last and I strongly suggest those reading this to write off this location as well. You consistently can't get your act together and I would've asked for my money back, but I figured it'd play out like my last visit, rather than a refund, remake the food.
