Decided to try this place today while I was in the area for a meeting. I stopped in and grabbed my lunch to go. The person who took my order seemed very knowledgeable about gluten-free options and explained that all of their chicken salads are gluten-free and served with celery instead of bread. I ordered the two-scoop meal with one side. I chose the Fancy Nancy and Kickin' Kay Lynne chicken salads, with broccoli salad on the side. The place was really decorated nicely, and the staff was extremely friendly.. I asked a young lady if I could try any of the probably 12 different chicken salads that they had at which point she directed me to the front of the store and uncovered tray with that all the different chicken salads on ice and let me sample all of them believe or not.. the first order was two scoop option with the fancy Nancy and the Jill pickle. Both were really good. We had packets of extra raisins that we added to the fancy. Nancy made it just a little bit better.. for the sides I got the pasta salad and grape salad. For the second order, I got the two scoop with. The fancy Nancy and the Dixie chick.(totally onion flavor, but not overpowering.-perfect amount of goodness). Mine was on a toasted croissant with melted provolone so delicious and my grandson wanted his on toasted bread. You can pick a side that ranges from broccoli salad, fruit salads, pasta salad or mac n cheese. It was homie inside and they asked us several times if everything tasted good. It was such a refreshing change I'll definitely be back. There is quite a variety of different chicken salads to try and you can order as a scoop if you don't want bread or on a salad. We've always enjoyed going to Chicken Salad Chick, but unfortunately the quality has declined recently. We noticed changes to the menu, which offer less value than before--understandable on their own--but the bigger concern is the drop in quality and freshness. It feels like corners may be getting cut. The grape salad had several grapes that were mushy instead of crisp, the lettuce was old and browning (see photo), and the chicken salad tasted stale and not like it used to. We hope the owner is able to get things back on track, as we've enjoyed this restaurant in the past. However, if this continues, we won't be returning. read more

First I like this place usually. It was the User location. First time using drive thru. I had to ask if they could take my order twice. The girl was nice but it felt like she wasn't listening or inexperienced. We waited at the window for a long time, which I didn't mind because I felt like the food would be fresh. This was a delicious classic and I'm definitely glad I tried it however it's a little basic. I also ordered a side scoop of Lauryn's Lemon Basil which immediately perked up my taste buds!!! Such great flavor combination. I tried the spicy pimento cheese scoop and really loved it! This is a great location on Albuquerque's west side plus they have a drive thru which is what I used today. My only suggestion is to add napkins in the to go bag and also put more ice in the ice tea as mine had very little and melted quickly. I love the mini cookie you get with your order. Attended their soft opening today (actually their first customers!) and it was great. We had the Melt on a croissant, which was tender and toasted perfectly. The broccoli salad is fantastic and the grape salad is almost like a dessert. So good! The interior is homey and comfortable. They give you a number when you order and then bring it to your table. Even though we were extremely polite in person, the food was absolute trash. It's basically an ice cream scoop of chicken salad thrown on a single piece of lettuce or between bread. We also ordered soups -- one came with the "meal," but it was like 2 ounces. We also got a bowl of soup..More like four ounces of watery tomato juice with 35 crackers. There were more crackers than soup, chicken salad, fruit, and cookies COMBINED. One of them was the chicken tortilla soup... and it had one tiny piece of chicken the size of a nickel.
