I wanted to try Los Toasties but the hours don't work when I'm in town. I was excited to see that they were going to have a pop-up at La Cumbra brewery! My son and I split the red chili sausage gravy over a green chili biscuit by Sunset Comida and egg and cheese sando with bacon on a waffle bun; delicious!!! Hopefully I'll be able to try one of their regular menu items on one of my visits. read more

Food is 3-star, service is 5-thus the 4 . My first time there, I got the #2, which is essentially an Albuquerque Turkey. I liked the bread, but it fell apart easily. House chips tasted burnt; pass. My 2nd time in, I got a #5, thinking it was going to be like a Chicken Parm Sammy. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It's in industrial area of town and a little hard to find. Give it a try! read more

Los Toasties - Chopped beef - Delis Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Los Toasties truly looks like the neighborhood deli conveniently close to Cumbre Brewery. The decor clearly pays homage to New York City and their delis. And just like a Tardis, this place looks bigger from the inside. The employees were welcoming, helpful, and fast with my order. Being my first time and looking at NYC all over the walls, I chose the #1, which has pastrami on rye, Swiss cheese, mustard, and sliced pickles. The sandwich had a good size and amount of protein. The pastrami was smoky and the rye was thick. There was a little hint of mustard, which I liked. Even though it was decent, I am still unsure if it was truly worth $14.50 with no drink or side included. Overall, this place offers a good option for a deli, especially in ABQ, where we don't have that many. It gave me enough to want to try other options like the #2 and #3, or the bacon, egg, and cheese. Once I try more, I may update my review read more

Los Toasties was quite the surprise. On a whim my sister and I stopped by to pick up something for her husband. At least that was the plan... We ended up grabbing sandwiches for ourselves as well. We couldn't help it, it smelled too good in there not too! We both left with the chopped beef sandwich and added and tomato to our sammies. Keep in mind, toppings that are not included in the sandwich description are at an additional cost of .50 cents. No biggie for me, but good to know right? I kept it simple and just got the sandwich, but they do have some side options. If I recall correctly, there is an option for chips (of course!), potato salad and perhaps a pickle. I'll pay more attention on my next visit. I am definitely returning because the chopped beef was dericious! I did have to wait about 20 minutes before i could bite into my sandwich, and it was still amazing. I plan to have my next sandwich there and am sure it will be even better. I'll try not to just inhale it. read more

A true hidden gem!! Came for lunch and it was busy which in my opinion says it all!! The lady taking orders was super friendly and helpful. I got the special which was a Reuben/pastrami sandwich. It was fantastic!! The house made chips were ok nothing too special. Price may be a little expensive but the sandwich was very very good and filling. I'll absolutely return and recommend to others!! read more

It's hard to find a toasted sandwich in this town. This place is hidden but a nice find. I had the number 2 Turkey sandwich. The sandwich hit the spot, very well made you can tell everything is fresh and prepared well. Inside the place is a quirky what you see is what you get kind of place. The service is nice and friendly and helpful. They have some in house chips the make I tried those, like 2.5 stars out of 5, no big deal on those, I also got a side of pasta salad, hard pass on that. The pasta salad is way way way too salty, and I like salt on everything so that's saying a lot. Anyway you are here for the sandwich and it's great, give it a shot! The sides are the only knock on this place. read more

Second visit, ducked out of rush hour traffic, had a fantastic sandwich. Got the #2 Smoked Turkey with green chile and avocado grilled cheese. Was delicious. They also do cute little empanadas. And pasta salads and giant pickles. And they are going to be doing soups as well. Expected them to be busier than they were. I always expect crowds during Balloon fiesta. read more

You want a really good sandwich in a new (to us) Mom & Pop eating establishment in central Albuquerque? Well, then join the boys from the VA Creative Writing Group as we venture to a new spot on Girard near Candelaria, where we all enjoyed the food, the fast service, and the homey atmosphere of Los Toasties. They are so new that they don't even have a Facebook page yet. We enjoyed ourselves, and you will too. Just click on the following YouTube video link and watch our review. https://youtu.be/yZOoFPTNuCY?si=XSq5QBtWUVZxc3mJ read more

I ordered the #1 Pastrami sandwich and I was blown away how awesome the sandwich was ! Being from up north in CT. This sandwich was right on target down to the flavor, assembly of the sandwich and the ambiance of this great little eatery I give them 10 stars ! It was delicious read more

I had heard nothing but great recommendations from this place and those recommendations did NOT disappoint. Small (literally) hole in the wall, huge flavor. Ordered the chopped beef and onion. Simple, yet so flavorful. Bit of a char on the beef, melted cheeses, sautéed caramelized onion, on a good roll, doesn't get better than that. Service was great, they were nice, informative, and genuinely had great recommendations. Plenty of parking, there is some seating inside, and simple menu. Only negative aspect is I got lost looking for those spot, if not attentive you can definitely pass this place and not even know it. Definitely coming back. read more

Cheers to another small local business doing the thing and doing it well! The menu is short, but TBH it's perfect. You don't need oodles of options when everything is so delicious! I got the chicken sando, and my husband got the Turkey with green chile. Both were excellent! Plus the pasta salad was a surprise smash. Cute little deli, close to Heidi's Jam factory, and the service was quick! read more

My husband and I had heard about this place a few months ago and have been dying to try it. It was certainly intriguing to find a New York style deli in Albuquerque and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the vegetarian arugula mozzarella and avocado sandwich with pesto and balsamic- the bread was super fresh and the sandwich itself was a great portion and was rich in flavor. My husband ordered the house smoked pastrami sandwich on marble rye bread- he said it was "craveable". He also said he really liked the meat- pickle-mustard ratio. Which counts for a lot. We shared a GIANT pickle and a s'mores empanada- yes you read that right. Both were absolutely delicious as well! The ambiance is casual and well decorated which was comfortable. We look forward to coming back! read more

Los Toasties! My wife and I went to go try their homemade deliciousness! We had an Italian sub and a cheesy Cubano the side we picked where potato salad and pasta salad. We also tried a coconut cola and that was quite interesting. Glad I tried it. Our favorite was the cheesy sandwich. Overall will definitely be back to try something else especially their homemade chips. read more

Friendly employees. Great tasting made to order subs. Best sandwiches I've had in a while (we had the steak and cheddar and chicken with marinara). Potato salad is really good too- bacon, sour cream and chives. Will definitely be going back. Clean inside with tables and a bar top to sit or one picnic table outside. read more

Tucked away on Girard just North of Candelaria is this new small business that is worth its weight in gold. It's close to La Cumbre so definitely keep it in mind for your next quick stop before grabbing a cold one. The atmosphere of this hidden gem is classic 'Burque and family oriented. Which totally fits since it's family owned and operated. It's a small intimate location with a few table tops and bar seating. There's a deli case showcasing their meats and cheeses as well as their desert options. Their various salad options are also displayed nicely. A "Snack Rack" is there with lots of options and a cooler with some NM staples to drink and a unlimited H2O station where you can fill up your own tumbler or get a free water cup from the counter. Service is fantastic. I was greeted upon entry and asked if I had any questions. It was amazing to be able to watch the food being made as I was waiting. The cooking and seating area were so clean and inviting. The food. My god the food. So good I almost ordered everything again for a round 2. We got the #1 pastrami the #4 chopped beef. Potato and pasta salad. House chips and homemade pickle. Nothing was left. It was all delicious and I have zero complaints. You can't miss this place. It's a local must stop snack and munch. Go immediately. read more

Came here today on a whim and what a good move. We were greeted super kindly from the moment we came in and the woman who took our order walked us through the menu and options since it was our first time. I opted for the chopped cheese and my girlfriend got the pastrami. We also got potato salad, pasta salad, and house chips to try. Let me start by saying this is everything a sandwich shop should be. A small menu with sandwiches made meticulously with care and quality ingredients you can taste. Both sandwiches were generous on the meats and tasted amazing. Probably one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've ever tried and the chopped cheese was delightful as well. The pasta salad was pretty darn tasty and the potato salad was simple but super good. The house chips were beautifully salty as well. Overall, I wish I was in town longer to become a regular here and try everything else on the menu, but then I'd be fatter than I already am. Give Los Toasties a try if you're in the mood for a sandwich and service that will blow your mind! read more

I got the El Cubano and half of it was burned. The other half was quite delicious. My wife got the chopped cheese and it was so good. That makes me want to come back. The pasta salad was dry but they added oil when asked. Its new so the ambiance was pretty lacking. Service was decent. read more
