    Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast
    John D.

Cool concept - lunch and supporting a non-profit biz with a mission. Everyone was friendly - employees & diners. The menu is simple with a nice variety of choices. So we ordered the Braised Pork Cuban and Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast with an iced Chai Tea. While you're waiting are table games to play and toys for the kiddos. Of course there's no rush so you can finish your game after food. Our food was delivered very well presented! I didn't expect this - it was a great surprise. The braised pork was excellent & came in between a "King's Hawaiian" tasting bun. The meat was tender and flavorful. The salmon avocado toast was stacked tall. The highlight was the breaded lemon cream cheese tomato. Memorable to say the least. Our meal was delicious with nice sized portions. It exceeded our expectation and in all honesty could have been served at 2-3 times the cost. This is a must do place for a meal. I can guarantee an excellent meal with a side bonus of helping people!

First time here but the coffee was quick good and strong. Staff was very kind. Very chill spot. Cafe looked like they have a stage and games to play as well. Will definitely be back.

Well, it is cold and wet here in Central New Mexico, but warm up with us as we visit the Ancora Cafe and Bakery. Join a few of the boys from the VA Creative Writing Group as we venture into yet another new (to us) restaurant with excellent food and efficient service in a setting that will have you walking around to take it all in. Just click on the following YouTube link and make sure you stay to watch the outtakes at the very end. We know you will like our special musical treat. https://youtu.be/B01BE7L8xvM?si=batRhhkiY_MPse8I

5 stars simply because I love their story. A business designed to help recovering addicts develop skills in the restaurant industry. But also, the food is really good. I had the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast. Very good! Was not expecting the fried cream cheese tomato. Very fresh! BF had the creme brûlée french toast with sausage. Ambiance is very artsy. They have live music/poetry in the afternoons. Service was great.

Delicious homemade cookies and a great Chai made from liquid not powder. This place is awesome and if you're comfortable indoors without a mask it's a great place to hang out and hear live music.

Ancora Cafe is a bakery/cafe connected to the Imperfectly Perfect recovery space. Truly an awesome concept - it is a cafe that provides vocational training for people in recovery through foodservice and provides a welcoming meeting space for all. We had their smothered veggie breakfast burrito which was easily large enough for two. Their red chile was bold and complex with sweet, smoky notes and an almost mole-like consistency. The green chile had the right amount of heat and was a lighter counterbalance to the red chile. The burrito itself was delicious and noticeably made with care. The beans that accompanied it were well seasoned, not bland. Their coffee is very good. My wife's oat milk latte was creamy and well made. I enjoyed my tea. There are numerous other options such as GIANT tiramisu and cinammon rolls, which are sure to hit the sweet spot. We saw french toast served at another table and it looked so good. With so many great options we are sure to go again!

My wife and I stopped in Ancora for a quick bite to eat for breakfast, and we loved every part of our visit! We were immediately welcomed by their staff and we could tell we picked a good spot. I had a drip coffee and she got an iced dirty chai latte, and we split their Orange & Walnut French Toast which was so delicious! Ancora is not only good on the outside, but good on the inside, too. They provide jobs and a safe space to folks in recovery. It's a lovely cafe with lots of heart and gorgeous art on every wall. Wish we were locals to stop by more often!

The bread is clearly baked fresh and was nice and crusty on the outside and fluffy with the perfect chew on the inside. My mini me 1 inhaled her grilled cheese (of which my husband ordered the full size and also demolished his), and mini me 2 and I shared the toasted tuna melt. Good balance of tuna, celery, and bread ratio, but I didn't dig the olives in it. There's a mini kale salad that comes with entrees, and it was healthy and palatable for kale. We did end up balancing that green with the pistachio cruffin and pistachio chocolate chip cookie. Would definitely go back for the cruffin with its flaky layers and luscious pastry cream. Cookie was less impressive but still worth the impulse buy. Indoor and breezy outdoor seating available. Highly recommend!

This place puts a unique and delicious twist on classic breakfast dishes, and everything we tried was outstanding. You can immediately tell they know exactly what they're doing. They even make their own English muffins, and they are to die for -- fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. We loved them so much we even bought a bag to take home. I also had a blood orange Jr. mimosa, which was off-the-charts delicious. Everything here is fresh, fresh, and more fresh. The bacon deserves a special mention -- phenomenal, cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. Whether you're craving something sweet or leaning toward the savory side, you're completely covered. If you're on the fence about coming here, don't be -- you will not be disappointed. Before leaving, we stopped to share our experience with the manager. She was incredibly engaged, professional, and genuinely eager to listen. We simply wanted her to know how amazing our breakfast was and how much we appreciated the entire experience.

This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. Bottom line: Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and a shop with enough character to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be back for another cup of that Guatemala.

Baristas are so nice and they put a lot of effort into crafting your drink. So its a bit awkward because there is a sign asking you not to seat yourself until you've ordered your food. It can make you feel a little anxious because if its really busy, where are you going to sit. We saw people waiting around not knowing what to do. Let me start by saying our food took way too long to come out, I even saw someone walk out because they were waiting so long on their food. I saw someone waiting for their food who sat close to us, and it turned out to be a to-go and I was like darn, that felt like they waited 20+ mins. For what they have on their menu, I feel like they should be able churn out food orders pretty quick. A couple who ordered after us, got their full food order before we I got my French toast and everyone else at our table got their food. It felt like 10-15 min wait on my food after everyone at the table got theirs. There was also an issue with our order because we were waiting on a side, but then I guess it was never added to our order per our server. We sat in the front corner and you can see the whole cook area, this also means if ventilation isn't on point, your clothes will soak in that aroma, like my jacket did. Food itself was good, nothing bad about what we received, but the wait time on food was way too long. I was leaning a 3.5 star which would make it a 4 star review, but the hiccup with the order along with the wait time just killed my experience.
