    Cheddar French Toast BLT Breakfast
    Christine C.

We tried The daily Grind for lunch today. We had tried them in the past but it had been years. I got the Cheddar French Toast BLT with a fried egg and my husband got a Philly cheesesteak and fries. The food was so amazing. My food was just the right amount of savory and sweet. My husband said his was good quality steak with the ratio to meat, cheese, onions and peppers. The fries were crispy and salty. We got seated on the patio which was so nice and shaded. Our service was on point. We will definitely be back. I am going to try and make my dish at home it was that good.

First time at The Daily Grind and I loved it! My ABQ Sandwich (Albuquerque turkey) was delicious. The dining room was busy but never seemed overly loud. Staff were very attentive and our table's drinks never went empty. Will absolutely be returning! ABQ Sandwich - The Grind's version is Turkey, cheese, green chile, grilled tomato and avocado all on a baguette. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!

Yesterday, we stopped in for breakfast and everything was excellent. I had an omelette with green chiles, spinach, and cheese. Friends had huevos rancheros and another egg dish. Excellent food. We loved it so much we came back today. The staff is amazing, the owners are on site and truly the nicest people. When in the ABQ, do yourself a solid and eat at The Daily Grind!

We haven't been to Daily Grind in many years. We just don't get over here often. The food was good, flavorful and served hot. I really like their menu. They have unique combinations. The cafe has a lot of art on the wall and is very open and airy with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good. Our server was very busy so it took a little longer for drink refills. He was very nice and friendly. Bathrooms are clean too. Definitely recommend them but be patient. They are definitely popular. I was a little disappointed their limited baked goods. In the past (like 5+ years ago) they had this Carmel cake that was amazing!

Very nice ambiance and beautiful layout on the menu!

Let's me start off by saying that our server Cole was very attentive, friendly and responsive! High five to this guy!!! The Inside is inviting and clean! The omelette was as expected.. fluffy and well stuffed! The Cubano brought back that island feel! Good job Daily Grind. And let's talk parking.. HUGE parking. Spots were large and very safe! Highly recommended! next time I gotta get the shepherds pie!

Meeting my daughter for breakfast. First time here.

Big selection of coffee drinks. After I ordered an Americano I kinda wished I had gotten a Dirty Chai. Next time. Good service. The portions are really big. Got the Breakfast Burrito David's Style, cheistmas. Wasn't too big a fan of their red chile, I'll get green only next time. Big dining hall type atmosphere. Local art on the walls.

Been here quite a few times, and to be honest, it has kind of become a breakfast go to for my boyfriend and I. The service is among the top for friendly staff. We're always greeted with a smile and are given ample space to enjoy each others company but yet still be appropriately waited on. We've only been for breakfast. The chile pocket is good for something a little but not too light. I also enjoy the avocado toast, with a side of over medium eggs please. If you are really hungry, I opt for the Cheddar French Toast BLT. It's quite gluttonous in appearance, but you'll be glad you ordered it, lol! Should tie you over until lunch. I think they are open for lunch too. I just haven't tried it.

    Inside the cafe

This place has really great food and service! The green Chile had great flavor & the portions were large. The specialty drinks are a little small for the price, but very well done!

Service C- Got water. Came back and took our drink order, iced tea. Didnt ask if we were ready to order food, we were. Back and forth looking over at us 3x. Ran some food though 2 others were running food. Wasn't busy an hr before closing. Cleanliness - F- DISGUSTING...like shocking Real bummer. Used to be so much nicer.

Very nice eatery with ample space to brunch the day away. Great parking with even better service. Try the avocado toast with a couple eggs on top to really get the protein burst you deserve.

    Strawberry refresher, cute little place

4.5 stars I came here a few weeks ago after seeing a review of the Daily Grind in the ABQ Journal (https://www.abqjournal.com/2466782/the-daily-grind-delivers-a-fairly-sophisticated-menu-of-breakfast-lunc.html). One of the main reasons I came was for the strawberry refresher ($3.75), not too sweet with a thick layer of coconut milk on top. Just like its name says, it was refreshing. Staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the layout inside and the expansive patio. I will definitely be back, even just to try a scone. 2022 #18

They even make their own English muffins, and they are to die for -- fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. We loved them so much we even bought a bag to take home. I also had a blood orange Jr. mimosa, which was off-the-charts delicious. Everything here is fresh, fresh, and more fresh. I was really happy to see that the menu clearly marked the gluten-free options. I originally decided on the chilaquiles since they were labeled gluten-free, but I asked to confirm that the chips weren't fried in a shared fryer. The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.

And plenty of ways to customize your order to taste and for the size of your appetite. The main drawback, as others have noted, is that the location where they've been for decades has grown steadily bleaker, with a sketchy feel even during broad daylight. I say this as someone who lives in a rural setting but who has lived in some of the biggest cities in the world and as a person who's not easily scared off by "rough" neighborhoods. It's perfectly safe, but you want your wits about you as you come and go. Service is fantastically efficient, friendly, and thorough. Really good food, based on my single experience -- I had a pancake, an egg, and sausage along with coffee, and I ordered the "Santa Fe" style pancake. It's made with blue corn meal in the flour, along with piñon nuts and a little cheese, and it's a very satisfying meal in itself. I left full and ready to go back if I find myself in that part of Albuquerque again with an empty stomach.

There were many picnic tables to eat outside and it was a small building, so most people were eating outside. The Inside When I first walked in it felt nice, people were talking Luckily not too loud. Then I looked around for where I placed our order and I easily found it. *It was right in front* Ordering So then I ordered the item "Just buttermilk and cream", and then I asked for a side of syrup and bacon. And I got an orange juice for my drink. Then I walked down to the patio, it had lots of greenery. Which was nice because the patio wasn't so exposed, and it had some sort of glass which blocked out the sun which also was very nice. And they gave me my orange juice right when I ordered it which was different in a good way. The Drink So I found a table where I sat down and sipped my drink ,unfortunately the drink was a bit cooler than room temperature. But I wanted it to be colder than it was, however the plastic that they used was hard and secure which felt nice in my hands. And at the near end of my experience it was getting pulp in it which was not pleasant. The Service My food came out in about 4 - 8 minutes. The food And when it did come out it looked really good. It was a big belgium waffle which had tons of whipped cream and strawberry slices, and the bacon looked nice. My first bite was of the bacon, unfortunately it was a lot more chewy then I liked my bacon. And then I grabbed my fork and cut a piece of my waffle, dipped it in some syrup, and then I took a bite. It was AMAZING, it was sweet but not too sweet. The syrup with the softness of the waffle was so good, and the waffle was easy to cut. The VALUE So what I got with the item was a big belgian waffle, lots of whipped cream, and over 15 strawberry slices for $10. I would say it's worth it. And I am pretty sure that I've seen smaller waffles items for the same price at other restaurants. Conclusion Overall, It was a Really good experience. Good value, Great food, Great service, and an okay drink. I would go back to Waffletopia. My only Suggestions are :If you come expect a big portion and don't get the orange juice Which leads to my star ranking. 4.5 Stars

The blue corn is just a tinge sweet so was an interesting mix. The waffle is a decent size but is super filling and dense. I'll have to try some sweet waffles or some different waffle bases next time! That said there are lots of gluten free options as well, so if that's for you, then don't hesitate to come check it out you won't be disappointed. There is indoor and outdoor seating, though in general the place is small-ish and can get crowded during busy times. Parking is also a bit of an adventure, but so is anywhere in that area. The staff is super friendly as well. All in all a great experience and I will be back. I can't believe it took me so long to get here in the first place!
