I'm surprised I haven't reviewed tumhis place given I have been here a bumber of times! I like this cafe especially if I have a meeting/and appointment around North UNM area. There are always parking and the environment is calm and pleasant. Staff had always been nice and respectful. The only thing I wished for this cafe was for this place to have slightly lower price. They aren't super pricey..but given I don't go to cafes as often, I always get sticker price shock whenever I stop by any cafe (just like any cafe these high inflation days I guess). Otherwise, it's a good solid spot for a catch up, for quick work (free wifi) in the area foe sure. read more

Usually I love Satellite coffee as I typically have a great experience at the Satellite on Montgomery. I like to get a cafe con leche and this is my usual drink. However today I got my cafe con leche and it didn't taste like it usually does and it actually tasted like they forgot the flavor in there. I had asked the barista who made the drink, Kevin, if he could add some pumps of the flavoring in. He said he would have to charge me for the extra pumps. I don't understand how I could get a drink that doesn't taste good when I usually love it and be told I need to be charged for more of the flavor I had already paid for. My sea salt blondie was amazing, however service from Kevin was not. And the manager did not seem to care. Go to the satellite on montgomery! read more

It has been several years since I have been to Satellite Coffee. I used to frequent while a student at UNM. I recently went back because of the location near the hospital. While the service is very good and the staff very courteous, the food and coffee drinks are much overpriced for what they are. The coffee is on par with a franchise (think Starbucks). To top it off, the business owners have a poor reputation with how they treat their staff. To top it off, If you want to support local businesses that align with the good of the community, you might want to look up their political donations. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

The ambiance inside was pretty nice, not too loud and echoey, not too bright, my 18 month old danced to every song they played. The drip coffee is delicious and Greenie Panini with turkey sausage added was exceptional, and exceptionally hot which means exceptionally fresh! My boyfriend got the campfire blended drink which was gross, way too sweet and kinda chunky.... But you should expect overly sweet and not very strong coffee flavor when you order blended drinks, as he admitted after tasting it. All it takes is communicating with the barista to curate your order to exactly your taste... and I'm sure these baristas would have been happy to oblige! The service was so friendly, direct, and helpful, and when I asked for a refund for the drink they were very polite and accommodating. This location is actually in a rather convenient spot. I was waiting for an appointment for my daughter at Carrie Tingley hospital and after two hours of waiting in the waiting room, I decided I needed a cool iced coffee. This location offered a perfect spot to refresh and rehydrate after waiting. I didn't know that this location offered food until I had already left, but I think perhaps in the future I will definitely stop here for lunch if I'm in the area and need a quick bite. As usual, customer service was amazing. Flying Star and Satélite almost always have impeccable customer service. My drink (iced caramel dulce) was prepared quickly and was delicious. Came in, ordered a latte, and out of no where some dude is all up in my face asking me questions as to whether I'll be staying or leaving and to fill out some contact tracing form while I'm waiting for my latte. What is going on and do I look like I have covid? Sticking to little bear coffee, this is place is too weird and rude. Stayed for a few minutes to see if they guy would ask other guys to fill out some forms to get there coffee and no one else was asked. Totally strange. Even stranger is a comment I got from someone saying that this was a state mandate. That's fine, but In the 30 mins I was there, I was the only person asked and plenty of other people were seated and staying. I am a HUGE coffee connoisseur and whenever I travel or go to any new areas, I always am on the hunt for the best coffee spot around, and friends, I have found ABQ's top coffee shop with my visit here this morning to Satellite Coffee. I got the mucho caramel Dulce signature creation, but instead of the latte, the barista made it with cold brew and coconut milk. Their cold brew is steeped to perfection, as it is super smooth, and not the slightest acidic or bitter. Adding coconut milk also helped make it perfectly smooth. Their whipped cream is homemade and caramel is real and has a rich, buttery caramel flavor to it. They also have pastries and breakfast options. I accidentally said "venti" instead of large, because I used to work at Starbucks and it's engrained, but the two baristas actually started snickering and laughing and said "sorry you're not at the cool place", making me feel awful and almost bullied for accidentally saying venti. I apologized and continued ordering. The girl actually taking my order was extremely standoffish and rude. Satellite coffee is real swell. With awesome food options, this a great breakfast and lunch spot. Try a green chile New Mexico burrito if you're new to town. The staff tolerates my lame jokes, and the fact that I camp out while I journal and read as long as I buy stuff. Satellite Coffee is a cool local coffee place and diner. I tend to use it more as a diner since I don't drink coffee. This location is fun, but it can get busy at lunchtime since it's by UNMH and surgicenter among other places. I had one of my favorites -- the BLT. This is a great take on a BLT with toasted pretzel bread. The ingredients are fresh and top quality. I also enjoy the salad that comes with it. I also had a glass of the Red Stuff. I don't normally drink juice things, but I love cranberry juice, and whatever else they put in it, so I think it's OK to splurge occasionally. In the past, I've had pastries, salads, and some drinks here. Everything has been great quality, and I brought friends and family visiting from the mainland to Satellite who really enjoyed it -- they were also coffee aficionados, so I take it their coffee is good too. =) read more

I love this Satellite Coffee location! They have fantastic baked goods and great beverages. Their concoctions of coffee and tea are original and delicious! They also have great sandwiches if you are really hungry! I've come here between doctor appointments as well as to meet with people. There is ample room to sit and chat as well as to spread out with a laptop or a book. The noise level is great. It's not library quiet but just peaceful enough to concentrate. The staff is always polite and dedicated to quality! I've never had an issue with my food or beverages and they go the extra mile for sure! read more

I rarely write reviews and I'm very lenient when it comes to the negative aspects of places. However, i just wanted to write something for anyone considering going here that doesn't fit their typical costumer. Their demographic is snooty rich kids and older people who enjoy the ambiance. Service was very strange but this is subjective and probably not the norm. However, a large chunk of their food menu is breakfast and they had no eggs and informed me they don't carry OJ at all. Criminal. So no breakfast for me i guess whatever. So I get a Caprese sandwich which they shove in a box both with a bag of chips which got nice and coated in some sauce. Also a smoothie as a drink. Price? 18 dollars... Something here doesn't correlate. If you're serving with the same food presentation as a gas station hot dog then maybe your prices shouldn't be so ridiculous. Lucky for me I came in to use my gift card and only had to pay 11$. I will not be returning there's many small businesses in this area that deserve the attention more. But I'm glad there's a place for this demographic to congregate that isn't starbucks. Edit: Why was customer cares response to basically call me a liar? I feel that speaks volumes. Probably my favorite Satellite location, yes, the place suffers from limited parking, it's nestled between the University and medical science buildings, so you can bet you'll find scrubs and surgeons in line at any hour. Still, should you manage to grab a spot to park the car (or, god forbid, you do that thing they call "walking"), you'll settle into an atmosphere that provides enough room to spread out your laptop and enough natural light to enjoy conversations with a bestie. What puts the place above the average Satellite location, for me, are the employees over the past several years. Quick to ring you up and deliver munchies if ordered, the line also moves pretty swiftly, and there's usually a smile attached to the "Hi, what would you like today?" greeting. If you're hoping to zone out on your computer, I'd suggest the bar to the left (south) of the registers, next to the barista station; there are outlets, and the wifi is free and pretty zippy. read more

YES - You should come here! This little coffee shop delivers excellence in every sense of the term. I am nicely and appropriately greeted every time I arrive. The quality of its products outshine the bigger branded names. And the people here possess legitimate people skills that will shine through your gloomiest days. It truly is a place I like to bring people for a rewarding and relaxing atmosphere that stimulates good conversation. BUT this little respite of reward shares its parking with too many businesses. They all mark their spaces with signs threatening to tow or boot your car. It's just too much negativity for a positive first impression. I really think this business should move a few blocks south. Otherwise I would give 5 stars. They are a local brew spot with plenty of locations (important for me, as I work at several different spots throughout ABQ so there always seems to be a location on my way). Their roasted coffee is delicious and perfect for me (my go-to brew is whatever dark/full bodied roast of the day is available and I drink it un-adulterated). My SO is into Latte's and specialty beverages - and here is where they shine. They're specialty drinks are super tasty, original, and well designed with their small batch roasts in mind. As far as food, I'm a huge fan of the rise and shine sandwich and either of the graburritos. Both are pre-made and heated when you order, however they are much high quality than you'll find at any national chain coffee shop. I'm not a fan of chains and coffee chains are no exception. But I had a meeting here a couple of weeks ago and so I chose to bite the bullet and give it a shot. I can say, this place isn't half bad. I had the dirty chai frozen and I am officially hooked. I have been craving the thing ever since and even decided to swing by this past weekend for no other purpose than to drink one midafternoon. Also, I like the spaciousness of this location (University) and the relaxing vibe. I can't say I'd make a habit of coming by here, but I certainly don't feel as guilty for coming here as I do stepping in a Dunkin or a Starbucks. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My friend and I stopped by on a road trip and I wish we could have stayed longer than we did. First, the decor and aesthetic of the place itself is beautiful inside and out. The servers are so kind and helpful and helped me decide what I wanted coffee-wise. My cashier recommended the Iced Java and it was incredible. Nothing like I have ever tasted before. To eat I got the artichoke and havarti melt and I loved every bite. My friend got the Caramel Frio and a glory muffin and enjoyed those as well. For me, being a vegetarian, I loved how many options they had for absolutely everyone. Went here for lunch yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised, having never been to a Satellite before. The service was great; the lady taking my order helped me choose something meat-free and did not seem annoyed that I was taking a minute to decide (thankfully)! I eventually decided on an artichoke and cheese sandwich, which was so good! It had a couple different kinds of cheese on it, and it was picture perfect melted! I ordered a white chocolate mocha which was yummy too, all of which came out extremely quickly. I decided to sit outside, although there is plenty of seating inside if you want, and enjoyed my lunch at a nice peaceful patio table! Great experience overall! read more
