Went here for the first time and tried their famous soup dumplings only to find out I'm not a fan of them. They taste pretty average but I did find some of other items I enjoyed such as their spicy wonton. That sauce with the wonton is 10/10 tasty and not spicy. The Pear lychee martini doesn't taste alcoholic until it was almost empty which I prefered. Chocolate dumpling is a must try. His energy was so gentle and kind, but what really stood out was his tea knowledge and thoughtful recommendation. I stop by this Ding Tea location when I am in the Costa Mesa area. It is in a long strip mall on the east side of Harbor, just south of Adams. There is plenty of parking, and a few handicapped spots right in front. I like how each Ding Tea location has its own unique décor. This one kind of has a floral theme with decorative ivy on the back wall and several floral arrangements on the wall. There are a few small tables against the wall, and some high top bar tables along the front windows. In addition to having many of the standard Ding Tea drinks, it looks like they have recently added matcha drinks also with latte, coconut, strawberry, and mango varieties. They have a good selection of toppings, and even several food items. I always get the kumquat lemon green tea with 25% ice, 25% sugar, and both golden and crystal boba. The drinks are always consistently good, and are made quickly. The staff is always friendly too. I'll continue to return when in the area. read more

I am here religiously once every week to get my ROSE milk tea with boba. The other places do not have this favorite flavor of mine, only select stores with owners that want it on their menus. The service and staff are excellent, I am in and out in 3 minutes flat, I'm running lots of errands during my lunch break so it's convenient. The store is usually empty because they are on top of service. Flavors are consistent no matter who's making it for me, which I like that! I ordered my usual wintermelon milk tea with honey boba and egg pudding. The tea seems more flavorful but more sweet if anything. The egg pudding was bland and the honey boba tastes like water. One of my favorite drinks here at this location that other Ding Tea's don't usually have, is their Taro Shake. Over here, they have Taro Milk Shake or Taro slush. Other places usually have just slush. I really like the brand of taro powder they use here! I like to ask them for a little extra taro powder haha. The service is efficient and quick! The friendliness can be a hit and miss but I'm not sure because it seems kind of inconsistent haha like when it came to me, the smile was gone and no thank you'd or nothing when it came to my transaction haha. Really happy about the customer service here! I placed an order online for a lychee Yakult and a couple minutes later they called and said they were out of Yakult, and asked if I wanted a refund or a different drink. I was already on the way over, so I said I'd get there and pick a new drink there. I got there and ordered a different drink, and they apologized profusely for running out of Yakult, and offered me a second drink to make up for it. Great customer service, and great drinks too! This Ding Tea location has opened for a while now. I still remember attending their soft opening while still being a college student 4-5 years ago. I had a chance to come back here to get some drinks with my family today and feel like they were still doing pretty well. I noticed they also began selling finger foods like popcorn chicken or fries so that was another nice thing. We had Hokkaido Milk Tea and Monster Boba Latte today. Both of them were very good as usual. However, I felt like these were quite sweeter than I expected them to be. Boba was chewy and its flavor was awesome. Even though it was almost the end of the day, I appreciated that the quality was still very consistent. The service we had was nice and quick. Okay so I really love boba and I'm all about trying the signature milk tea. Well I have to say that this place sure gives you plenty of boba. While some places have it barely cover the bottom of the cup, this one has about 1/4 of the cup full. We also tried their popcorn chicken. It was seasoned and you can choose mild to spicy. On my never ending search for best milk tea in OC I stopped here at the Ding Tea Costa Mesa location on Harbor. Parking was super easy and there was only one person ahead of me in line around 3:30pm on a Tuesday. My usual order - Jasmine green milk tea with boba no ice was solid - not in my top 3 but still a solid choice. What makes a really great milk tea shop for me isn't just the quality of my drink and boba (the boba here was super fresh! yay!) but also that they have a variety of non-caffeinated drinks or low-caffeine for my little kids. My kids got the Chocolate Milk Tea with boba and I had a sample and it tasted to me like chocolate milk with boba! Yum! I actually liked it better than my own drink! I'll come back here in the future because it is close to my kids' school and they have good quality & good tasting drinks with a large menu variety. read more

Disgusting ! Don't go here if people coughing over your drink bothers you. The dude making my drink coughed write over my drink and multiple other drinks and didn't cover his mouth at all. Their drinks are consistent, however service needs improvement. The cashier gets at least one drink order wrong each time we visit this location. This particular visit, 2/5 items wrong. My favorite location is still the Tustin location. Great drinks and great service there! This same cashier does not know the ding tea menu at all. I've been on a total boba kick and literally can't stop. In my defense, it was a good place to bring my laptop and work on stuff. I got the Jasmine milk tea with boba and it was pretty decent, but not as fragrant as I hoped the tea would be. The boba is pretty soft and sweet which complemented the drink really well. I also tried the passion fruit with aloe vera which I really liked. It was sweet, tart and super fruity. It might be too flavorful for some, but it was perfect for me!
