I've stopped by Boba Junkie a few times in the past, but most recently visited before roaming the nearby HomeGoods. I'm a fiend for an oolong tea topped with boba and cheese foam. Unfortunately this location doesn't offer oolong, so I ordered the mango jasmine fruit tea as plan B. The tea was tasty and I enjoyed the consistency of the chewie boba. Hubby and I went here because it was next door to where we were picking up food and we are so glad that we did. My husband got the butterfly pea tea and I got the, not sure if it's the correct name, the strawberry tornado which was absolutely yummy! It took 10+ minutes to make my drink. There were customers coming in at the same time but they had 3 workers so not sure why it was that slow. I've gone here twice so far, and I really enjoyed my drinks both times. My first time I got the lavender milk tea. I like that they don't leave the lavender seeds in the drink (I've had it at other places like that and it's annoying to spit out/dodge those seeds). The lavender milk tea was also a good level of sweetness. Most recently I got the milky Nutella snow, which was fantastic! It was chocolaty and addicting. I finished it fast! The workers here are nice, and it's spacious inside though it just has the cushion seats along the wall. We found this spot by chance, and it's quickly become a favorite! We got the house milk tea and the milky icy taro, both with boba. The staff was friendly, started a punch card for us, and made our drinks well! The house milk tea was the perfect amount of sweetness, and the caramelized brown sugar was a nice touch. My business is in Huntington Beach. To get to Boba Junkie, I would just go up Hamilton to Victoria and hang a left. It isn't out of the way for me. So, when one of my staffers who lives out in Lake Forest tells me that she's going to order from UberEats boba at Irvine Spectrum to have it delivered to her here at the office, I look at her like she's nuts. So, I offer to just go get it for her since I have to go home to pick up something I forgot. I was the one who suggested Boba Junkie. Her being from Lake Forest doesn't know the area. Except, my head isn't in the right place. The place I am thinking of is closer to my house off of Adams. By the time I get through the horrendous traffic on Adams to get to Costa Mesa due to them tearing up the street and arrive to where I think Boba Junkie is? I look up and realize the place I was thinking isn't Boba Junkie. I get the right directions only to realize that it's in the crazy shopping center of the new Northgate Mercado shopping center. I park and walk in, totally distracted by the line of arcade grabber machines and decide to order a drink before I let them know I am here to pick up my staff's order. Yeah ... they don't have the order?? So, I call my staff to tell her she placed the order at the wrong location. She said to forget about it and she'll just cancel the order. I told her I was here, I bought a drink, I'll just re-order what she wants. The staff was kind enough to only charge me for one of the two drinks that was on the original order. That was going way above seeing that it was totally my staff's fault. I even told him it wasn't necessary. I didn't even explain to him what I had already gone through to get there. He just said he would only charge me half the order. After I got back to the office. Handed out the two drinks to my warehouse manager and the gal who originally placed the order. I explained that I could never go back because my 8 year old son would probably burn through $20 in the arcade portion of the store and walk out with nothing. So, I relinquished the stamp card to my staff for them to accumulate the stamps. Five minutes later, my walkie broadcasts from the warehouse manager "Mmmm yummy boba!" The gal who originally placed the order was like ... "yeah ... I am hooked on the quantity of boba alone! So much boba!" Well kid at the Boba Junkie counter! You officially earned return patrons. I am certain both my warehouse manager and my customer service staff will be coming back! Instead ... she will probably use UberEats to have it delivered. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in this area a lot since mom has had a good amount of hospitalizations at Hoag Newport and a lot of doctor appointments in the area. One night while I was in the ER with mom, sister was on the hunt for boba in the area and BAM! We've been hooked on it ever since! I love the different options and 3 different kind of cheese foams!! Most places your lucky if they even have cheese foam as a topping! My favorite is the "Horchatea" its like milk tea+ horchata, its delicious with the vanilla cheese foam!! When I got there, the drinks had just been made and the man behind the counter was very kind. I really love how you can pick and choose what goes into it.
