I tried the Blueberry Muffin flavor and even though the combination of ingredients sounded unexpected, it somehow tasted like Fruity Pebbles! So good! I also love that Climb Ice Cream focuses on locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and offers dairy-free and vegan options. Delicious ice cream and a nice vibe. Grabbed a sampler with lemon meringue, ube, vanilla and a staff recommended cookie dough. Every bite was better than the last. Also relatively cheap for good ice cream and Costa Mesa. Was around 9 bucks for 4 quality scoops. Vibe is a shared space in SoCo, so grab lunch and stop by here after. read more

Right in the middle of SOCO shopping center. Like really in the middle - an interior walk-up shop where you order and then can go find communal seating. Be sure to ask for samples! Very friendly owner who told us she named the place Climb because climbing is her passion outside of ice cream! Unique and yummy flavors! We tried the cupcake circus (cupcake ice cream with frosted animal circus crackers) and cookies n cream. Everything was delicious and she threw in some extra sugar cones for our kids - a very nice touch. Ran us $14 for two scoops with tax and small tip included as of Mar 2026. read more

This incredible ice cream shop is located inside the OC Mix. The flavors are posted on the wall next to the walk-up window. I saw several flavors that I wanted to try, so decided to get a flight sampler which consists of 4 flavors. The pleasant woman behind the window (who I suspect is the ice cream artist) scooped my chosen flavors: Salty Caramel, Send It! Coffee, Strawberry Brownie, and EPiC Horchata. Each very different in taste. My flight was served with a piece of waffle cone. It was lunch hour so all of the seating inside was taken but there were plenty of tables outside on this beautiful afternoon. All the scoops were creamy-delicious. The Salty Caramel had salty caramel ice cream with chocolate bits and brownie pieces and tasted just as you imagine. The Send It! Coffee had a bold flavor (Yay!) and chocolate bits sprinkled throughout. Strawberry Brownie had smooth strawberry flavor with delectable pieces of brownie. The cinnamon flavor within the Horchata was a bit weak for my taste but otherwise yummy. If you are an ice cream lover who values quality and taste, this is the place you must visit. read more

Newly established ice cream place within the OC Mix. The owner Jojo is very friendly and welcoming, with extremely unique flavors, from an Ube Chocolate chip, Spicy Apple Pie and even a Vegan Chocolate raspberry. The ambience was inviting with a wide variety of different food options within the area. They also sell pints for $11 which is a great option if you enjoy any of their flavors individually! Would highly recommend this place to anyone within the area with a sweet tooth! read more

Unique, fun flavors and INCREDIBLY reasonable prices!! Climb ice cream just opened their first brick and mortar store - after ordering their ice cream online for months it's so nice to come sit and enjoy a scoop then and there. The ice cream is delicious and thick and she does not skimp on portions. I highly recommend the cupcake circus or the ube, and her oat-based nondairy choices are also great, even as a dairy-eater!! The owner is super nice and loves to talk about her flavors and the inspiration behind them. When I think of a true hidden gem in OC, this ice cream shop is the exact definition of it. Can't believe I never heard of it until now?? And it's tucked away in a plaza full of furnitures (SOCO) Their flavors here aren't just unique but they also have some great pieces and textures in them depending on what you get. We stopped by after dinner and got a sampler with Pistachio Road, Blueberry Muffin, Ube Chocolate Chip, and Strawberry Brownie PISTACHIO ROAD Loved how they had actual pieces of pistachio in it but I felt like the base itself leaned more towards an almondy taste BLUEBERRY MUFFIN Literally the reason why we came here to try it and it DID NOT disappoint. Omg so good. The muffins and bluerries in it...nuff said. UBE CHOCOLATE CHIP You know oddly enough I always thought these would go well together but I never saw any ice cream store offer it until now. Love the combo of the ube and chocolate but I would've wished the taste of the ube to be stronger STRAWBERRY BROWNIE Okay YESSSSS. The brownie and strawberry bits sent me to ice cream heaven. The strawberry base itself was also so satisfying as a strawberry lover. Other places make the strawberry too sweet or artificial, but I think they nailed it here. It was sweet but also a little tart to balance it all out so I'm a fan! Also LOVE LOVE LOVE that we got to enjoy a generous amount of ice cream with a piece of waffle cone. Climb Ice Cream is such a sweet addition to SOCO & The OC Mix. You can feel JoJo's passion the second you walk in. This started from her own kitchen and taste-testing process, and that love shows up in the flavors, the space, and the way everything feels intentional. 10/10 hands down! I felt so welcomed and the worker (owner?) was so nice and pleasant to chat with! I couldn't decide so I opted for the flight and selected the Yuzu with lemon chocolate chips (deliciously citrusy!) the horchata (really nice and not overpowering flavor), strawberry brownie (this had the perfect strawberry flavor) and the chocolate crux (I adored this one, deep chocolate flavor and nice chewy brownie bites). For $8.50 that was an absolute steal for how much you get. I will 100% be back to try more flavors! read more

Really great original flavors of ice cream. Lots of diversity and options for toppings and upgrades and cones. Gluten-free options are clearly labeled and there's a lot of them and everything tastes great. There's even b some vegan options as well. The owner was terribly polite and kind and answered all my questions. Ice cream is made on site and is super creamy made with quality ingredients. Prices are comparable that any of the mainstream places for a whole lot better quality, and a lot better customer service. Come on down and support a small business I have celiac disease And was finally excited to have Oreo cookies and cream again at an ice cream shop. There's a ton of other things to do around here while you're eating your ice cream it's a fun place to go on a date or just to hang out. read more

The owner is an experienced climber and an exceptional ice cream maker, and the flavors also have climbing inspired names. We tried the pandan and vanilla v3. Had an incredible visit last night! The owner, Jojo, is so sweet and explained that she hand-makes everything without any additives, which I love. I tried the Chocolate Raspberry and Peach Pie, and both were delicious. My boyfriend went for a flight mix of Pistachio, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Strawberry Brownie, and Coffee. I was standing there staring at all the incredible flavor options, unable to decide, until I spotted their ice cream flight! It was the perfect solution.I tried the Chocolate Crux, Salted Caramel, Pistachio Road, and a Yuzu flavor (the name escapes me, but the taste didn't!). Chocolate is always my default, and the Chocolate Crux did not disappoint, it's rich and chocolatey with the perfect amount of mix-ins.I was actually surprised that the Yuzu was my second favorite; it was so bright and citrusy. The Salted Caramel definitely isn't afraid to bring the salt, and the addition of chocolate makes it feel extra indulgent. Finally, the Pistachio Road provided a lovely, light contrast to the richer scoops. I'm Filipino and was tickled to hear about the flavors...Ube Pandesal Toffee, Banana Turon Crunch & Mango Sticky Rice. We tried the Ube Pandesal Toffee and I'm quite amazed how they were able to capture that unique flavor. I grew up with making an "ice cream" sandwich by putting ice cream in a pandesal and tasting this just unleashed a core memory of being young and making an ice cream sandwich that way. We will definitely be back to try the other flavors! When we arrived there was a few people in line and when the line grew a bit, I think it was a manager that stopped what he was doing to jump in and help with customers which I thought was very considerate of him to do. Lastly, the location was charming and tucked away in the corner of the plaza. It had a few tables outside and in the adjacent Pop Pie shop to sit for a few minutes to enjoy the ice cream! It's nice to support a small businesses that cater to the community! Good luck to the Stella Jean family...wishing you success! I'll be back for my Turon & sticky rice!

Place is easy to find right off 17th Street. You really can't miss it with that big sign. And the building is definitely unique as well so you shouldn't have any problem finding it Inside you can either choose to go digital and and skip talking to a real person. I'm old school, I actually like engaging with people. So I went to the counter. I ordered the rib sandwich without looking, and was a little shocked by the total. The sandwich itself is 15 bucks, I ordered a small fry which was $4.50, and a small drink which was $4. With a 15% tip my total came out to $28. Definitely a little shell-shocked by that. Now let's talk about the sandwich. It came to the table and at first glance it looked very small. When I picked it up there was a very generous portion of rib meat inside like a big chunk of rib meat. Huge pickles and a lot of sauce. It was a great sandwich. Do not get me wrong, what I ordered again? Maybe. They don't really have a meal deal that includes fries and a drink so it's sort of all a la carte. Now let's talk about the taste. The fries were perfectly cooked, and the sandwich itself was a solid 10. That being said, I would definitely feel more comfortable paying $12 for this sandwich, as I think 15 is a little exuberant. And you don't really get that many fries for $4.50. I can't imagine what the meal deal would have been, but I'm sure people would absolutely balk at that price. I would have given it a five-star review, but that is way too much for that sandwich. As delicious as it was, I just don't feel right spending that much for a sandwich. If it could be reworked, and the price dropped down I would be all in in a heartbeat. Bottom line? If you've been wanting to try it, I say go ahead. Just be warned that you could be unpleasantly surprised unless you know what the prices are you're getting into.

Super weird experience really bad customer service. We've been coming all the time and this is the first time we've ever experienced this.
