Real Food Ice Cream That's Actually Made Locally We are super clean eaters and usually make our own ice cream at home, so we do not typically go looking for ice cream shops. But when I saw the signs at Climb Ice Cream talking about farm to table, fresh ingredients, and ice cream made right there on site, I had to give it a try. I am SO glad we did! I met the owner, Jojo, today, and I loved hearing the story behind Climb. She has traveled around the world tasting ice cream and set out to create the best ice cream she could right here in Orange County. And she is serious about the local part. The milk is sourced locally from cows in Chino. Yes, really! Local cows, local dairy, and ice cream made right in the shop. The ice cream is creamy, rich, and incredibly flavorful. It has that wonderful American sweetness, but the quality and depth of flavor reminded me of the ice cream we enjoyed in France. As someone who is pretty particular about ingredients, I really appreciate that Climb focuses on quality ingredients and skips the unnecessary gums and chemical additives found in so many commercial ice creams. What I especially love is that this is a locally owned business creating a genuinely local product. You can taste the difference when someone cares this much about what goes into their food. If you care about real ingredients, supporting local businesses, and knowing where your food comes from, go try Climb Ice Cream. Support local. Support real food. And support people like Jojo who are putting real care into making something delicious. read more

Great ice cream - my first exposure to them was actually at Room & Board - they were having a free ice cream event and we just absolutely fell in love with it. Brought our friends back recently and we all got flights to try other flavors (owner is also super friendly and you can sample flavors before committing!) Climb is great though - the flavors are just so good and the ice cream is so real. Flavors I recommend: -Blueberry muffin - this was everyone's fav! -Ube and chocolate chip - my kiddos fav -Strawberry brownie - easy favorite We also got pistachio but that wasn't my fav - I think the flavors of the other ones were just so good that the pistachio just seemed a little dull in comparison. read more

Climb Ice Cream is what other ice cream places should be. Excellent flavors, gluten free options and an owner who hand makes the stuff daily. Not only is she extremely friendly she is just a good human being. The kind of person that you would want to see again, and certainly want to support her business. The ice cream is some of the best you will ever eat. Great flavors, made daily and and great for people who have gluten or dairy issues. I would come here everyday if i could just to try the different flavors. If an Ice Cream place can have a Michelin Star this would be the place. read more

Tried some absolutely incredible ice cream today and I'm still thinking about it. The cardamom‑vanilla scoop was unreal--creamy, fragrant, and just the right amount of spice to make every bite feel special. Then the blueberry scoop came in with that bright, juicy pop of flavor that tasted like peak summer. Together, they were perfection. If you're looking for ice cream that's unique, refreshing, and seriously delicious, this spot delivers Jojo, the owner, provided the best experience and has a great concept on her hands! read more

Delicious ice cream and a nice vibe. Grabbed a sampler with lemon meringue, ube, vanilla and a staff recommended cookie dough. Every bite was better than the last. Also relatively cheap for good ice cream and Costa Mesa. Was around 9 bucks for 4 quality scoops. Vibe is a shared space in SoCo, so grab lunch and stop by here after. read more

Some of the best and most unique ice cream I've had in a while! I tried the Blueberry Muffin flavor and even though the combination of ingredients sounded unexpected, it somehow tasted like Fruity Pebbles! So good! I also love that Climb Ice Cream focuses on locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and offers dairy-free and vegan options. Located inside The OC Mix, it's such a fun spot to hang out and explore. Jojo, the owner, was super nice, and I can't wait to come back and try more flavors! read more

This incredible ice cream shop is located inside the OC Mix. The flavors are posted on the wall next to the walk-up window. I saw several flavors that I wanted to try, so decided to get a flight sampler which consists of 4 flavors. The pleasant woman behind the window (who I suspect is the ice cream artist) scooped my chosen flavors: Salty Caramel, Send It! Coffee, Strawberry Brownie, and EPiC Horchata. Each very different in taste. My flight was served with a piece of waffle cone. It was lunch hour so all of the seating inside was taken but there were plenty of tables outside on this beautiful afternoon. All the scoops were creamy-delicious. The Salty Caramel had salty caramel ice cream with chocolate bits and brownie pieces and tasted just as you imagine. The Send It! Coffee had a bold flavor (Yay!) and chocolate bits sprinkled throughout. Strawberry Brownie had smooth strawberry flavor with delectable pieces of brownie. The cinnamon flavor within the Horchata was a bit weak for my taste but otherwise yummy. If you are an ice cream lover who values quality and taste, this is the place you must visit. read more

Right in the middle of SOCO shopping center. Like really in the middle - an interior walk-up shop where you order and then can go find communal seating. Be sure to ask for samples! Very friendly owner who told us she named the place Climb because climbing is her passion outside of ice cream! Unique and yummy flavors! We tried the cupcake circus (cupcake ice cream with frosted animal circus crackers) and cookies n cream. Everything was delicious and she threw in some extra sugar cones for our kids - a very nice touch. Ran us $14 for two scoops with tax and small tip included as of Mar 2026. read more

Unique, fun flavors and INCREDIBLY reasonable prices!! Climb ice cream just opened their first brick and mortar store - after ordering their ice cream online for months it's so nice to come sit and enjoy a scoop then and there. The ice cream is delicious and thick and she does not skimp on portions. I highly recommend the cupcake circus or the ube, and her oat-based nondairy choices are also great, even as a dairy-eater!! The owner is super nice and loves to talk about her flavors and the inspiration behind them. Take your scoops and check out some of the oc mix shops, sit outside, or enjoy the vibes of the marketplace. Parking is plentiful :) read more

Newly established ice cream place within the OC Mix. The owner Jojo is very friendly and welcoming, with extremely unique flavors, from an Ube Chocolate chip, Spicy Apple Pie and even a Vegan Chocolate raspberry. The ambience was inviting with a wide variety of different food options within the area. They also sell pints for $11 which is a great option if you enjoy any of their flavors individually! Would highly recommend this place to anyone within the area with a sweet tooth! read more

Came here because I heard they had a key lime ice cream. Unfortunately they didn't have that flavor any longer but I got to sample a few other flavors that they had. The owner told us that she rotates flavors and went over on the process of how she makes the ice cream. You can tell that a lot of work and love goes into her creations. I got a scoop of their coffee ice cream and I can genuinely say that it's the best coffee ice cream I've ever had. It was packed full of flavor and was so creamy. I also got to sample some of the mint n chip. I literally bought a pint after trying it because it was so good. If you're craving some good ice cream this is the place to go. read more

Super good ice cream. It's thick and so flavorful. The lady who helped us out was super nice and let us sample several flavors. She broke down how they make them too, which actually was cool to hear. It's also awesome to hear her describe these things, it shows their passion. I will for sure come back! Got the coffee scoop today! Has a shot of espresso in it. It was realllllly good. Please give them a try! I really think they deserve it. read more

This little gem is located inside of the SOCO mix Plaza. We've bought a pint of almost every single flavor and have loved all of them. Climb Ice Cream is at SOCO & The OC Mix in Costa Mesa, founded by JoJo, with flavors built around climbing, travel, whole ingredients, and dairy-free oat milk options. Climb Ice Cream is such a sweet addition to SOCO & The OC Mix. You can feel JoJo's passion the second you walk in. This started from her own kitchen and taste-testing process, and that love shows up in the flavors, the space, and the way everything feels intentional. My daughter tried the vegan Strawberry Holds Forever, made with oat milk, and my other daughter had the gluten-free Cookies & Cream, which is honestly so hard to find done well. I sampled both, and they were creamy, clean, and delicious. I also love that the ice cream is made with real ingredients like sugar, eggs, milk, and cream, with no artificial colors or flavors. The cones smell absolutely delectable the second you walk in. The location is perfect too. It's right near Portola Coffee Lab and surrounded by great little food spots, so you can grab a bite, get a coffee, and finish with a scoop. This is the kind of place that feels personal, thoughtful, and made with a lot of care. More on social media: @ratedbymaryam read more

10/10 hands down! I felt so welcomed and the worker (owner?) was so nice and pleasant to chat with! I couldn't decide so I opted for the flight and selected the Yuzu with lemon chocolate chips (deliciously citrusy!) the horchata (really nice and not overpowering flavor), strawberry brownie (this had the perfect strawberry flavor) and the chocolate crux (I adored this one, deep chocolate flavor and nice chewy brownie bites). For $8.50 that was an absolute steal for how much you get. I will 100% be back to try more flavors! read more

When I think of a true hidden gem in OC, this ice cream shop is the exact definition of it. Can't believe I never heard of it until now?? And it's tucked away in a plaza full of furnitures (SOCO) Their flavors here aren't just unique but they also have some great pieces and textures in them depending on what you get. We stopped by after dinner and got a sampler with Pistachio Road, Blueberry Muffin, Ube Chocolate Chip, and Strawberry Brownie PISTACHIO ROAD Loved how they had actual pieces of pistachio in it but I felt like the base itself leaned more towards an almondy taste BLUEBERRY MUFFIN Literally the reason why we came here to try it and it DID NOT disappoint. Omg so good. The muffins and bluerries in it...nuff said. UBE CHOCOLATE CHIP You know oddly enough I always thought these would go well together but I never saw any ice cream store offer it until now. Love the combo of the ube and chocolate but I would've wished the taste of the ube to be stronger STRAWBERRY BROWNIE Okay YESSSSS. The brownie and strawberry bits sent me to ice cream heaven. The strawberry base itself was also so satisfying as a strawberry lover. Other places make the strawberry too sweet or artificial, but I think they nailed it here. It was sweet but also a little tart to balance it all out so I'm a fan! Also LOVE LOVE LOVE that we got to enjoy a generous amount of ice cream with a piece of waffle cone. And we ate it with ample seating (hidden-gem thing). Super cute date night with a "lemme take you to a place only I know" Some other flavors that I'd love to try next time are - Send-It Coffee (it was just the evening and didnt want to get all cracked out) - Key Climb Pie also looked really interesting to try next! - Pandan (but this one was only sold as a pint) read more

One of the best ice cream in my liferich flavor very tasty polite and good customer service

Really great original flavors of ice cream. Lots of diversity and options for toppings and upgrades and cones. Gluten-free options are clearly labeled and there's a lot of them and everything tastes great. There's even b some vegan options as well. The owner was terribly polite and kind and answered all my questions. Ice cream is made on site and is super creamy made with quality ingredients. Prices are comparable that any of the mainstream places for a whole lot better quality, and a lot better customer service. Come on down and support a small business I have celiac disease And was finally excited to have Oreo cookies and cream again at an ice cream shop. I visited the OC Mix and was pleasantly surprised to find that Climb Ice Cream was open! I really like their ice cream. I think the quality and the texture is excellent. I always pick up their ice cream whenever I am at the area.

So glad we stumbled upon this place after getting burgers next door. Flavors were more than your run of the mill but not too outlandish - and everyone loved what they got! I was standing there staring at all the incredible flavor options, unable to decide, until I spotted their ice cream flight! It was the perfect solution.I tried the Chocolate Crux, Salted Caramel, Pistachio Road, and a Yuzu flavor (the name escapes me, but the taste didn't!). Chocolate is always my default, and the Chocolate Crux did not disappoint, it's rich and chocolatey with the perfect amount of mix-ins.I was actually surprised that the Yuzu was my second favorite; it was so bright and citrusy. The Salted Caramel definitely isn't afraid to bring the salt, and the addition of chocolate makes it feel extra indulgent. Finally, the Pistachio Road provided a lovely, light contrast to the richer scoops. Every flavor had a perfectly silky, smooth texture making the flight an ideal choice for exploring the menu. read more
