This place is a GEM!! A must try!! My grandparents, who are native to the South Phoenix community, told me about a new breakfast joint that opened in the area. They had never been, but wanted to try. So, we gave this place a try. We went on a Monday morning, which was not busy at all. The staff, which I'm assuming were the owners, were very friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in to the time we left. They told us a little about themselves and where they had came from. They were very knowledgeable on the food and offered their suggestions on meals to try. My grandmother had a great time talking to them about how she was a local and loved helping her community. The food was OUTSTANDING!!! My grandmother and I had the biscuits and gravy meal, which came with eggs, a choice of meat, and potatoes (home fries or hash browns). I had no complaints about any of it. The biscuits and gravy were to die for! My grandfather had the omelette, which you can choose what you want in the omelette. He added bell peppers, cheese, and bacon. This also came with potatoes and a choice of meat. He loved all of it and was glad we finally had the chance to try this place. The outside and inside of the restaurant were very nostalgic! All of the colors, decor, and memories from the past really made this place friendly and fun! Keep in mind, seating is minimal. If you plan to go on a weekend when they are busy, I would try to go as early as possible. I also suggest going during the week when everyone is at work. What I loved most about this place is that it is kid friendly! They had kids menus and activity sheets for the kids to do while they wait. My 2 year old had the strawberry pancakes, which were basically topped with fresh strawberries and strawberry syrup. My daughter LOVED the pancakes so much, she ate them all, including the orange slice that came with it! Whether you are local or visiting the town, you have to stop by this place and give it a try! I ate the Molcajetes for breakfast this morning at Diner 50 & it was REALLY good!! It was served sizzling hot & tasted great! The servers were very nice too!! Wow! Cant believe how horrible the food was for the price. The biscuits and gravy were runny and bland. The corn beef hash was canned the potatoes were French fries cut into smaller pieces to pass as "breakfast potatoes" and just the cherry on top to this horrible experience was as soon as we walked out our clothes smelled like I worked a 10 hr shift on the fryer. They also have a cat rescue next door that some how associated with the diner. read more

Both were welcoming and very attentive. I ordered the oatmeal and fresh fruit bowl for the fruit, my stomach was not feeling to great that morning so I was trying to get something not too heavy for my stomach which this was perfect. My partner ordered the BLTA Sandwich W/ Fries which were both amazing, the fresh cut fries were amazing and the sandwich was perfectly toasted! What an amazing find! I was in my way back from a job site and there was traffic so I wanted to stop for breakfast. Walked into this cute retro diner and was pleasantly surprised! Their food is good, but even better they have a cat rescue next door! You can see the baby kitties through the French doors! If you ask really nicely, the owner will even let you come in there and pet them. Be careful though, one of them may want to adopt you! If you don't feel up to adopting, they also accept donations. Went in for a later breakfast at 11:30 and made a U-turn for the Friday Fish Fry. It was very good, one big piece of lightly fried Bass and comes with fries along with soup/salad. Very friendly and clean diner. I'll soon go back for my breakfast. read more
