Mixed reviews across several visits. On the plus side, I enjoy the variety of pizza toppings available day-to-day. Staff is usually friendly and the food is good. I typically grab a slice or two for carryout on weekends during reasonably busy times. Never had a problem with that. Tonight's visit was a dine-in experience, and it left much to be desired... I ordered a salad and a pepperoni slice. My companion ordered salad, a slice of cheese and a glass of beer. At checkout, there were several people crowding the register, demanding to know where their orders were. The staff was quite frazzled and I looked down and realized my pepperoni slice only had *two* sad pieces of meat on it. I explained to the cashier that it was unacceptable... but she had angrier customers and seemingly bigger issues to deal with. So I accepted the order and we took our seats. Our salad bowls were visibly dirty. My companion had a black residue on her beer mug, which, coupled with the bowls and poor service, turned her off on the experience. A glance at the service counter showed more disgruntled patrons. No use in complaining there. So we finished what we could and left. Maybe Sunday evening visits are just a bad deal, but this was definitely inconsistent with earlier experiences. I may try again sometime. read more

A friend had recently been raving about Dimo's interesting pizza selections and availability of vegan options (I'm not vegan, but appreciate a place with options). Upon entering, I noticed the layout was inviting and open, with plenty of signage telling you which way to go for a slice. Surveying the wide array of eclectic slices, my eyes were immediately drawn to the large slice of pie topped with ... corn??? Is that ELOTES pizza??? Two of my favorite foods merged into one??? Amazing. Simply amazing. After I picked my slice, the kind gentleman behind the counter helped me select the proper pint to pair. Love at first bite, it was everything I dreamed of and more. First time at this location and I am left in total bliss just as I was two years ago at the Wrigleyville location. I walked in and it is very clean and the pizza makers have an awesome vibe and offered to make whatever I wanted even though I would only get one slice. It is a big open space with couches in front and a tap for water drinkers and cool decor. Food: I am not a vegan kind of girl but I like to try crazy things here and they just so happened to have a vegan philly pizza out and it was spectacular. They also made a version of a Hawaiian pizza just for me. Ringing in at $4/ slice it is definitely worth it for all the different specialty pizzas and I live in NYC where pizza usually reigns. Sorry, but gotta take a couple of stars off. Ordered a couple of vegan slices, took the box they handed me, and went home. Got home, opened the box, not what I ordered, not vegan. Called Dimos, woman apologized and said she'd put a couple vegan slices aside for me and a couple of coupons for free slices. Since I don't live nearby, I asked for it to be delivered. I then got charged a delivery fee for their mistake. Delivery guy was 30 mins late and gave me attitude about leaving the slices on the counter. $4 for mouth watering slices of mind altering pizza? Yes, please. This place doesn't just have your typical cheese pizza here. My friend and I came here for the first time the other night. First of all I love how late this place is open. They have variety of pizza out when you walk up to the counter area. The only downside is they don't have any signs explaining what is what but the staff is more than happy to answer any questions you might have. So far I've tried the Philly Cheese Steak, The Mac, Smores and the Balsamic Tomato slices. My friend and I came here 2 days in a row just so we could check out what else they had. Is that the theme of the night or what WP has turned into? Both of my slices had great toppings on burnt crust. I'm not sure if the style is to burn the crust on all the pizza or just the ones I picked but considering that you are planning to pop the slice back in the oven after it is ordered, I would think that you would slightly undercook it, but not here at least not tonight. I was going to give this 3 starts but in retrospect they get two from me and I'm usually not difficult to please. I even like blackened food, just not burnt. Also, why don't you label the pizzas? This time around she noted the service was flawless. Happy people working behind the register, received the slice in a timely fashion, and left without any complaints. I reheated the slice when I returned home that night, and obviously checked the bottom for burnt-ness, but was pleasantly surprised that it was perfectly charred. Lots of vegan options! Dimo's is a small chain of Chicago pizzerias that not only makes great pies, but donates a share of their profits to community projects. They have a great variety of vegan slices, specialty pies, and even desserts. My boyfriend and I ordered delivery from them, and they were happy to serve us even though we were located a few blocks beyond their delivery zone. Our pizzas arrived at our hotel in under an hour, still fresh and warm. We each got a medium pie with two flavors. I got half Vegan Mac, half vegan Hawaiian, and my boyfriend got half Margherita half mushroom pepperoni. With a vegan brownie and a root beer, our total was just $32 (plus $4 delivery fee)-really reasonable, considering the amount of food. The best of the bunch was the vegan Mac, which is a Mac N Cheese pizza with a creamy béchamel sauce base, and baked macaroni on top. The vegan Hawaiian was also very good, with a subtle BBQ pineapple sauce and tangy pickled jalapeños. My boyfriend thought the vegan pizza was better than his non-vegan one, which had a disproportionate amount of cheese. I did not enjoy the vegan brownie, which tasted like flour and canola oil. Was in city and decided to pickup a vegan pizza for my son and me. I ordered him a small vegan mac and cheese, me a vegan buffalo chicken sub red sauce from white sauce and couple slices of vegan sausage just to try all three. Our go to place house of za has closed so decided to try. What a great choice. My buffalo chicken was a 10, sausage was a10. My son gives his mac and cheese a 7. Looking for NYC style pizza in Chicago? This is your place. Thin crust, tons of flavors, and a really cool vibe. Definitely a more trendy place than your average pizza place. They have tons of art and things like couches and tables, not your average pizza style. I really like the selection they had here. Behind some glass, you can "see" all the flavors they have for the day. The real problem was though that the pizza themselves weren't labeled. It would be nice to have a tag on each pizza explaining what's on it because it's not always easy to tell. Also, it's almost $5 a slice. Yes it's good pizza, but if you're going to get 2-3 pieces, which won't will you up, you might as well get a real meal for that same amount of money. For instance, I got the margarita slice but could have had 4 more of them before I was full. Besides for the bad labeling and high price, the quality was definitely good. Nice place to go for different and interesting pizza away from the norm. The crust is thin and it has to be warmed in the oven after your slice of choosing. My fav is the Mac & Cheese; the second runner up is the Spinach Tomato. I didn't care for the chicken bacon and cheese (my hubby loved it) or the chicken & waffle (we both agreed on this one). I'm a foodie, so I have to try as much as possible when I go to a new place. $4.50 a slice and $3 tall cans of beer. Quick, easy, mellow and chill environment. Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! Dimo's Pizza is my go-to whenever I need fast food and it has been my go-to for the past 5 years. Pizza is by the slice and they always have a ton of options available at any given time. They also have vegan pizza by the slice which is amazing! It works by you choosing a slice that's available, they heat it back up in their pizza oven, you pay, and then you pick up your pizza when it's ready. Quick and easy. My favorite pizzas are the mac and cheese, the buffalo chicken, and this pasta one with an Alfredo sauce and chicken. They're always delicious and amazing. Also the vegan mac and cheese tastes as good as the regular. How do I know? I've tried both since my friend is vegan. They also have a rewards card so your 10th slice is free. I immediately called back that night asking for my money back, he said he would take care of it. I love pizza. We live nearby and saw this place was opening. It does say cash and iphones only on the window and so we were like...eh, no thanks...but I think they take credit cards now! Anyway, we walked here on a Friday night. The space is big, plenty of room to sit. The guy behind the counter was really funny and he took the time to describe every slice they had available (which was a lot!) They have booze, yay! We got beers. I went with a spicy taco pizza slice and a chicken parmesan slice. My husband got a chicken and waffles and a buffalo chicken bleu cheese. I didn't try the buff chicken because I don't like bleu cheese, but all the others were awesome! The chicken and waffles was crazy, I didn't expect to like it, but I did! I am intrigued with the mac n cheese pizza, really want to try that. I like that they have slices because you can try some crazier stuff and not have to commit to a whole pizza. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I order after the customer before me who orders and chooses his slice of the BBQ pizza and points to a rather larger slice compared to the rest of the pizza. I go ahead and do the same and point to the bigger slice (as did the guy previously) and employee mentions that its two slices...which is where I'm assuming you can tear the pizza where its cut to make one slice. We agree to it as we've already paid and it didn't sound too bad. 12 customers served later, I'm waiting on the side, he comes out with 1 mac and cheese pizza after we clearly asked for two, to make up for the "stolen" 2 BBQ pizzas. Doesn't apologize and says all we got is chicken and waffle. After that, he asks if chicken and waffle is okay because that is all they have. Well, I have no option but to accept? Oh, and after all this, it was not good-the chicken and waffle pizza-its too sweet. All in all, its a nightmare of a ordering system. Please fix this somehow. Make this experience smoother and you'll have a great establishment. I enjoyed the vibes, the decor, and the space. Ordered Dimos last week with my family we ordered probably 10 different pizzas and an appetizer and it was all delicious however we ordered 5 vegan pizzas and 5 not vegan and then the appetizer we asked for the cashew cheese to me on the side and it didn't come on the side and NONE of the boxes or anything was marked. We had to guess about the appetizer if they listened to the nut allergy request or not and the not labeling the vegan pizza verse the regular is terrible. That is not at all okay. Really was disappointed in that I would love to order it again but I'm very hesitant because of their lack of follow through on requests and the simply marking of a pizza. read more
