Recently did a pizza by the slice tour in my neighborhood of West Town and Naty's was the last stop on the trip. Of the pizza joints visited, Naty's is probably the least impressive to look at. Each joint on my tour was takeout and cheese pizza only. To my surprise, Naty's was probably one of the best pizzas from an all around perspective. It's similar to my first stop where the pizza was kind of denser than what I'd normally consider tavern style pizza, but this one was also crispier than the other one and I enjoyed that extra crisp. Sauce was decent and so that made it an overall good pizza slice. I also appreciated this being the most reasonable of the bunch in that the single slice some sub $5. Not for me. I enjoyed this pizza when I lived in Chicago years ago but I tried it once more and it was not my cup of tea. Service was excellent, the locale was clean and tidy. Continuing my run of hitting all of the restaurants within one mile of my house, I stopped by Naty's a couple of weeks ago for a quick lunch. Look, it does the job: $6 got me a slice of pizza, fries and a can of soda. It's hard to beat that kind of value, and the quality was just above average for that kind of meal. The space is spartan--there's enough room for maybe 10 people to dine in, service is fast if you are working it by the slice, and the fries were pretty good (and there are a TON of them). SLICE ME I was having a moment. It was after 10pm and West Fest had just closed. I needed something in my belly to keep my Tito's company. As I was walking by, I noticed a sign in the window for a $2.25 pizza slice. I know it was not the healthiest choice but I could hear the voices in my head encouraging me to just walk in. So I walked in and was greeted nicely by the staff. I asked for a slice and I was informed there was one pepperoni left. It looked lonely and sad on its glass Merry-go-round pizza tray. I was doing that pizza slice an honor by eating him. My slice was quickly tossed on a piece of foil and then into a brown paper bag. That totally classed up my dinner. I also received containers of Parmesan cheese and pepper flakes to go. I quickly sat at the table to dress my slice up with the toppings and took a bite. Honestly it wasn't bad and was exactly what I needed. Was it the best pizza ever? No! Would I go out of my way to order a whole pizza here? Probably not. But in a pinch I would definitely come back when I needed a late night snack. So after a few bites, I tossed my pizza into the bag and jumped on the bus. As I rode home I could hear the pizza calling me, so I opened the bag and took a few more bites. The crust was good but not thin at all. I would call it more of a medium crust. I really love thin crust or deep dish. Medium crust, which is what this pizza was made of is just to bready for me. The sauce was tasty but there was not a lot of pepperon on it. I love it when my pizza has pepperoni in every bite. So I was happy to find this place when I needed it most. Bookmark it for future West Town visits because a slice of pizza can hit the spot after a day of festing in Chicago. read more

I gotta admit that I didn't have high expectations for this place due to the pictures on the wall. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza and the value here. Slices are less than $3 and filling. Sauce has a sweet taste to it and the crust is a hearty medium. Straight cheese was better than pepperoni in my opinion. The pizza reminded me of something that I can't really identify but it's worth a try if you are in the neighborhood. They also sell just about any fast food item you can think of and whole pizzas if it's for a group. read more

Jesus, I guess when you have to axe actual pizza boxes in favor of bags to save a buck, your business must be hurting. No surprise that they might be hurting, seeing as this pizza tasted like nothing. Seriously, I'm looking at this partially eaten pie that I just ordered, and I'm floored that a pizzeria has managed to make a pepperoni pizza taste like absolutely nothing. On top of that, it's greasier than those wretched Home Run Inn frozen pizzas you can get for like $23.99 at Jewel. Although the delivery was quite fast, I can't even finish what I ordered. Standard fare for a standard price. You want standard? They got standard. I had some average mozzarella sticks with some middle-tier fried mushrooms for starters. I followed it with an extra medium Italian beef sandwich, and a delightfully typical baked mostaccioli with meatballs for the lady. All of this hit the spot, and the cost was on par. Delivery was on time, and everything was as expected. I haven't tried the pizza, which is what you usually get from a pizza place, but I'm sure it is satisfactory. I don't know why I keep going here. I just got two cheese steak sandwiches. They don't bother chopping up the meet. It's put on the un-toasted roll flat. The bread is cut all the way through instead of being like a hot dog bun where you stuff everything in there. So when you go to eat it, the meat slides off the roll. The cheese and whatever else you get us all over your hands and face. It's also not worth the 15.75 I just spent for two with a handful (my hands are small) of fries, no drinks. Maybe their pizza is good but I don't know. I don't eat pizza unless I'm really really in the mood and if I were I wouldn't get it from there. I guess I still go here because it's two blocks away from where I live and I'm at the moment tired of gyros. I also don't think they like white people. They are never friendly. It's not awful, but I can't shout it from the mountain top either. The place is clean, the people are nice, and the delivery is fast. On another note -their sister business (I think?) Just ordered from here for the first time and I'm very happy! Small thin crust cheese, delivered, came to 15 bucks. So cheap! And only took 40 minutes. Nothing fancy, just a nice greasy cheesy crispy pizza. Cured my hangover real quick. I work down the street so I'll definitely be ordering again soon! Edit: stick to thin crust, forgot to specify on my last order and the regular crust was too much for me...very bread-y, not sure how else to describe it. I was introduced to this place when I moved to the 'hood. Although I've never actually been inside the store (I always get delivery), I do like the pizza. I'm not a fan of thin crust and cut into squares, but my friends are, and they like Naty's well enough. It's not horrible, but I order it some times. Sometimes I just crave a nice thick crust like Pizza Hut (yes, I said it). It's cheap, the delivery is always much faster than they say (which is SUPER nice). I can't comment on the walkin drunk food factor, but I do know the day after pizza is pretty good too. read more

These guys are the most sarcastic bunch ever. On multiple occasions I've told them easy tomato sauce and it's like we told them extra instead. It's not the first time either. Delicious greasy food. Really greasy. The pizza puffs are marvelous. I haven't had the pizza yet. They have a big menu with lots to choose from. My office orders from NP2 a few times a month, and I love the pizza! I normally get Hawaiian, but I recently tried my coworker's favorite: sausage and giardanera. Spicy! The delivery is so fast (under 30 minutes) and our pizza is always piping hot. We order family style, as all the pizzas and pastas are share-able. read more

I'm pretty sure they add something to their pizza that is habit forming. Never really tried anything else off the menu, maybe a salad which I think was good, but we order here for the thin crust pizza. They never skimp on the cheese. Don't be fooled by the outwardly appearance of this place, the pizza that comes out of its doors is incredible. Originally from the western suburbs, pizza night with my family meant Benny's Pizza in Berwyn or Al's pizza from Cicero (both pretty damn good, by the way) but when I moved to the city I had to get my fix from somewhere.
