New York style sausage, hot giardineira, and mushrooms - A close-up image of a pizza featuring sausage, sliced mushrooms, and green peppers on a crust with melted cheese. The toppings are spread evenly across the surface, and the pizza appears to be freshly baked. The image emphasizes the variety of ingredients used in the pizza, highlighting its savory toppings and crispy crust.

My first introduction to Matta was their phenomenal buttery garlic bread that my brother brought to a party earlier this year. Even after traveling it tasted so good. I was cat sitting for that same brother who lives close to the restaurant and dropped by on a Friday night thinking I would just grab a slice or two. They had several available which all sounded pretty good but none of them was exactly what I wanted and seeing the quality of the ingredients got me to pull an audible and just order a custom New York style pie with my usual: sausage, mushrooms, and giardineira. The staff member at the counter was incredibly friendly and gave me a quick rundown of what they offered while I was deciding which was much appreciated. I stopped by the next day to see if I could get some sauce for dipping my leftover slices in and she was more than happy to let me have a little to-go container. This is a fantastic pizza spot that's definitely worth a try.

I've had Pizza Matta on my list for a while now after seeing fox's review on instagram, it looked phenomenal. I had to make my way up there and check it out for myself. We ordered the 16 inch tavern style cheese pizza. I had my queen with me and she's a vegetarian so we went with cheese, but you have the option to do half-and-half. The pizza was on point came out piping, hot, nice and thin. Their dough is amazing it stayed crispy throughout the whole dining experience. The quality of dough and flavors are exquisite and they cooked it perfectly with just right char on the bottom, you could also from the taste you can tell they use really good quality cheese. The sauce was nice and acidic the way I like it, only feedback I have is just need to add a little more sauce. They also offer free side condiments like hot honey and chili oil. The chili oil was amazing even the quality of their Parmesan is fire. The young lady that helped us at the register was very helpful and patient great customer service felt like she was happy that we were there trying their pizza. The location is little store front on Armitage with three tables with bench seats counter/register where you can get slices and an opening to see the guys making pizzas. It's really cool little spot. I love the ambience with the pizza peels hanging on the wall. Parking was real easy. Lots of street parking. They also have pay for parking in front of the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try their specialty pizza that they offer.100% Recommend!!

Pepperoni slice right around $5. Delicious!

This place has delicious pizza by the slice! Their pepperoni pizza is my favorite. Super greasy but tasty! One of the times I went in they were out of pepperoni and weren't making anymore during the day so that was a bummer. The employees are friendly and attentive. I recommend this place!

Disappointed by the Giant team. This is just average pizza. It's not quite thin and not quite pan. Reminds me of Pizza Hut pizza. We have such good pizza in the neighborhood between Pizza Lonzo, Pauline Gee, Middle Brow, and Reno. I doubt I'll order again if they don't change things up.

BBQ Chicken pizza-by-the-slice! - A single slice of pizza featuring chicken pieces, jalapeño slices, and melted cheese is placed on a white disposable plate. The pizza has a thin crust and appears to be served in a casual dining setting with a wooden table surface visible in the background.

GO HERE! Some of the best by the slice pizza in chicago! Giant (renowned small plates) is right next door and chef Jason is working both kitchens often! He's local and a delight. This is a local guy and business you want to support! Great price for top shelf pizza! Spread the word!

pepperoni pizza - A young boy with short dark hair, wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, and white sneakers, walks along a sidewalk while holding a pizza box in one hand and eating a slice of pizza with the other. The scene is outdoors, with trees, bushes, and parked cars visible in the background. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting shadows on the sidewalk, and the setting appears to be a residential neighborhood.

When you've had a long day at work, your kid's driving you bananas and you just don't want to cook... Pizza Matta is your place. The Best Pizza in Humboldt Park. I've had my share fare of pizza throughout my life, Pizza Matta serves an EXCELLENT pie. If you live in the neighborhood stop in and get a slice. My pre teen couldn't make it home, walking & eating lol.

Cheese slices to go. - Two men are standing outside a pizza restaurant at night, holding plates with slices of pizza. The man on the left is wearing a black t-shirt, striped shorts, and sandals, while the man on the right is wearing a light-colored short-sleeve shirt, shorts, and sneakers. The restaurant's window behind them displays the business name and menu, with warm lighting inside. The scene suggests a casual, social moment after enjoying pizza.

Great ny style pizza. Baked perfectly. Good variety of slices available if you don't need a whole pie. A few tables if you want to dine in. Uses Caputo double o flour and it's evident from the taste of the crust. Very reasonably priced at $4 for a large slice. Salads are very unique, creative and delicious. Counter people are courtesy, knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely keep on my top 5 list.

two cans of pizza on a counter - A pizza with a thin, Chicago-style crust and multiple toppings is shown resting on a metal tray. The tray is supported by two cans of Dinapoli organic tomatoes, which are labeled with a green and yellow design featuring red tomatoes. The pizza appears to be partially cooked, with melted cheese and visible toppings. The image is taken through a glass window, with reflections visible on the surface.

And…read moreI also knew I wanted to go to a Lou Malnati's location, since that's the chain I'd heard about the most. We showed up without a reservation on a very busy evening, so it was almost an hour of waiting before we were shown to spots at the bar, which suited me just fine because I'm always okay to sit at the bar. I felt like a cocktail and the Chicago-Style Bloody Mary ("Tito's Handmade Vodka, house tomato mix, pearl onion, tomato, Sport Pepper, pickle spear, celery salt rim") sounded quite tasty. And indeed it was. The balance of flavors was nicely done and the alcohol level was perfect. (I should also mention I'd been waiting for my chance to try the infamous Malort liquor, so when I spotted it on the shelf, I asked our super friendly and helpful bartender for a shot. She gave me a little smirk when I asked for it, which I thought was amusing, and then offered up a generous pour. It was...interesting. I'm glad I tried it but it's not something I need to ever drink again.) The star attraction, of course, was the deep dish. We opted for the Malnati Chicago Classic ("Made with Lou's lean sausage, some extra mozzarella cheese and vine-ripened tomato sauce on Buttercrust") and it was phenomenal. It was so cheesy and delicious, and that sausage was top-notch. I enjoyed the heck out of it, and I can safely say it even exceeded my already-high expectations. I'm so glad we hung around for Lou Malnati's. It was totally worth the wait.

Pizz'Amici is this small, crowded, loud and incredibly popular parlor making some of the best pies around. There cracker thin, old school pizzas are sublime.
