The mushroom slice you can't even tell it's vegan. Also despite all the mushrooms it isn't overkill at all. Potato pizza as a delish combination of flavors, I loved the onion on top too. I recommend getting a pizza flight where you can build your own slices from their speciality menu or build your own pizza. I really enjoyed all of the slices they are know for their pepperoni and basil but the vegan one was a standout as well topped with tofu sauce, mushrooms, carmelized onions, and chives. Was going to a show at the Empty Bottle that started at 9 and decided to order a couple of slices so that I could enjoy them outside before going into the venue. The sausage with giardineira was as good as always but the special mushroom miso slice really took the cake. The caramelized onions combined with the garlic and mushrooms was just perfection for a fungi lover like myself. Ordered on my way to the Bottle and the slices were ready at the promised time. My friend and I tried a variety of slices: the miso mushroom, PRIDE, burrata and sausage. I also got a side of honey sauce. We enjoyed our pizza slices on the back patio area. My favorite was the miso mushroom - incredibly light and airy. The pride tasted like spaghetti pizza which I wasn't expecting since the ingredients remind you of garbage style. Still very delicious. The burrata is thick and creamy but lacks a little flavor which I don't think can be helped since it's burrata. And the sausage is heavily packed with meat and semi spicy gardinara. Definitely giving Italian flavors and herbs. Each slice was $4.50 for the square and the sauce was $3.00 which I thought was steep. We also got a mocktail with no alcohol for$7.00. I was surprised with the twist of adding peppercorn into the drink. I felt like I was drinking strawberry kombucha. Not bad and I would buy again. The pepperonis were small and a little bit crispy which I loved. The potato pesto was a unique combination and the you can never go wrong with burrata. I was so looking forward to trying Pizza Friendly Pizza since we moved into the neighborhood, but I left incredibly underwhelmed. We ordered the pizza flight and the garlic parmesan wings. Every slice of pizza had something off about it that my partner and I couldn't put our finger on during the meal. Eventually we came to the realization that the cheese on each slice tasted like the cheese on a frozen tombstone pizza. I'm not sure what quality of cheese or storage methods they are using, but it was a huge miss. At $5-6 a slice, we expected far better quality. The garlic parmesan wings were good, but at over $2.50 per wing they were absolutely not worth it. We ended up not eating most of the meal and put it in our fridge for later, but I'm honestly not sure we will even go back to finish it. We may have caught them on an off night, but I would have a really difficult time recommending this place to a friend. read more

I've seen Yelp pics for Pizza Friendly and drooled over their pepperoni and basil. I couldn't hold off any longer and made the trek out to Ukranian Village to try them out. Their pizza not only photographs well but it tastes amazing. As of October 2021 a square slice is $4.50. A little pricey but totally worth the drive. We ordered 4 slices and each slice had a generous portion of pepperoni and cheese. Two slices filled me up. The ingredients they use are savory and bold. The sauce has a nice lingering heat to it too. I ordered food for pickup but realized their takeout orders are picked up through their window off Cortez Street. If you're dining in they have a cute outdoor patio near their takeout window. It has a few tables and chairs but it's a good space to dine al fresco. They don't have a parking lot but there's a decent amount of street parking in the area. read more

I actually came here by mistake. I was trying to order from another place with a similar name, but my dumbass ordered from here. What sucks is that there is zero ways to get immediate communication from this place. I kept calling to see if I could cancel my order. Nothing. They wouldn't answer the phone. So I decided to just swing on by and pick up my order. That was also a little confusing. The entrance was through the alley? Once I finally picked up my food, the rest was history. The toppings are generous here and the perfect ratio to the dough. Two slices was the perfect amount of food for me. I came here on a Thursday evening and they were pretty packed at 7pm. This pizza place is attached to the Empty Bottle, a small divey bar and intimate music venue. We actually happened upon this place when we were looking for a quick bite before the concert. Not sure if they were busy because of all the people attending the concert, but either way the pizza did come with a wait, about 20 minutes or so, so not the quick bite we expected. Stopped by Pizza Friendly Pizza on a random recommendation and was so happy we did! It's in an alley and there's no delivery option that I could find, but it's worth the short wait and lives up to the hype. There are three tables outside if you want to take your chances at eating there, but most people we saw were getting their slices to go. The Sicilian crust looked at first like just another deep dish crust, bit it's acutally uniquely light and crispy. The pepperoni basil slice was perfection! THRILLED that this part of Ukrainian Village/West Town finally got a stellar pizza spot. We stopped by to sample the slices on a Friday around 5:15 and probably had to wait about 15 minutes to place and receive our order. The staff was super friendly and accommodating with beverages while we waited. The slices themselves tasted really unique; the crust was thick and crispy in all the right ways. The toppings were fresh. Everyone should put giardiniera on pizza. AND they were reasonable priced. We got four slices and a sandwich for around $30, which lasted us two meals. I was lucky enough to find out about this place last weekend and was able to taste a couple complimentary slices for the the neighborhood. Their pizza is rectangular pan shaped, thick and doughy, yet light, airy and really crispy. The pan crust appears to be quite thick, but it's surprisingly light. Really great texture. I tried the mushroom & calabrian chili and Ruben's special (sausage, giardiniera, fennel pollen). Their toppings are very flavorful and have a bit of a kick to it, which I loved. And they are light on the cheese, so don't expect the typical heavy, gooey cheese topping. But, their toppings are so good, you don't even need it or miss it. Heard magnificent thing about this pop up so I trotted my way up here all the way from Little Italy. I had to try all of them so I got the supreme, rapini/lemon, and the Reuben, which was the special that week. I don't know what rapini was but it was damn good, and the lemon had a nice touch. Huge fan of olives, and when paired with the mushrooms, out of this world. Last was the Reuben, with corned beef and giardenaira peppers. The giairdenaira provided such a burst of flavor that it just kept making me want to eat more! Sure the topping were good, but let talk about this crust.
