    DINNER FOR TWO
    Brooke B.

We got the dinner for two combo and the pizza was soooo good! It's a thick bready pizza, and we got the whipped ricotta and hot honey to go with it. It's in a cute little shop and I think you can also order the pizza if you are at the bar next door. Casual vibe, you order at the counter and the workers deliver it to your table.

The pizza is always so delicious and the service is always fast. I never have ANY complaints

I really wanted to like this place but the pizza just wasn't for me. It's focaccia bread pizza and the bread makes up about 98% of the pizza. I just wasn't getting any flavor from any of the slices I tried. Caesar and sauces were good and the service was really friendly. Unfortunately this just isn't my kind of pizza. If you're really into dry focaccia bread I would recommend.

Pizza friendly pizza is good! Did not have to wait very long for our orders. The interior is small and cozy. I highly recommend the mushroom pizza, was my personal favorite out of the ones I tried!

Wowowowow, this place is on the Michelin Guide for a reason. Definitely some of the best pizza in Chicago. We got a mushroom pizza, with a truffle sauce. It was a thick crusted pizza, lots of acid, fat, and grease despite not having meat. The pizza was incredible, 10/10.

picked up two slices of pizza and a salad! and the place was great. the service was extremely friendly and nice and love the fact that they asked me for my allergies before hand. the ambiance is great, especially being right next to a bar, can only imagine getting a drink and a slice of pizza. would definitely recommend going! i will be coming back.

This Sicilian-style pizza is absolutely amazing. Despite its appearance, the dough is incredibly light and airy. The addition of hot honey takes it to a whole new level.

Finally got around to trying Pizza Friendly and I wish we had come here so much sooner! My wife and I got the Dinner for 2 (four pieces of pizza, a salad, and breadsticks). Burrata and Pepperoni slices were fantastic. Miso Mushroom, we inhaled! We'll be back!

Pizza Friendly Pizza knocked it out of the park once again. Was going to a show at the Empty Bottle that started at 9 and decided to order a couple of slices so that I could enjoy them outside before going into the venue. The sausage with giardineira was as good as always but the special mushroom miso slice really took the cake. The caramelized onions combined with the garlic and mushrooms was just perfection for a fungi lover like myself. Ordered on my way to the Bottle and the slices were ready at the promised time. Thanks PFP for the full stomach that nourished me as I got lost in the amazing sounds of L'éclair and Sunking tonight.

PFP is a bomb spot to drop in for a nice cold beer and good Detroit style pizza. Located in west town/ wicker park, this establishment serves their spin on different pizza styles the Detroit way. PFP is connected to a bar called The Empty Bottle which host shows for local bands while serving nice cocktails and beer. My friend and I tried a variety of slices: the miso mushroom, PRIDE, burrata and sausage. I also got a side of honey sauce. We enjoyed our pizza slices on the back patio area. My favorite was the miso mushroom - incredibly light and airy. The pride tasted like spaghetti pizza which I wasn't expecting since the ingredients remind you of garbage style. Still very delicious. The burrata is thick and creamy but lacks a little flavor which I don't think can be helped since it's burrata. And the sausage is heavily packed with meat and semi spicy gardinara. Definitely giving Italian flavors and herbs. Each slice was $4.50 for the square and the sauce was $3.00 which I thought was steep. We also got a mocktail with no alcohol for$7.00. I was surprised with the twist of adding peppercorn into the drink. I felt like I was drinking strawberry kombucha. Not bad and I would buy again. It's Nice that bars are including mocktail options.

We got Pizza Friendly Pizza for takeout and it was delicious! The crust was the perfect texture - A little airy and light but with a nice crisp edge. The pepperonis were small and a little bit crispy which I loved. The potato pesto was a unique combination and the you can never go wrong with burrata. It's a little pricier than other options for pizza delivery but definitely worth trying at least once! We all enjoyed it and it tasted even better reheated in the air fryer.

Stopped by for their happy hour special. You get a slice, a beer and a shot for $8! We had to order at the bar next door to get the beer and shot, but the pizza comes to you where ever you sit. We sat in the back patio which is pretty basic. I also tried the potato slice and did not like it. But the pepperoni slice is delicious. There's a photo booth here, which I love using one whenever I see it!

After watching their YouTube video, we had to try it. I called in an order for their Signature Italian Sandwich and also the Pizza Sandwich. It was ready on 15 minutes. Super friendly service, plus they have a full bar. I bet this place is a good time afterwork. Anyway, my husband and I shared the sandwich. And it was so good. The bread had the right level of crust and the topping were so fresh. I regret only ordering a sandwich to share. I wanted that whole damn thing to myself. We ended up eating the pizza Sando for dinner with a salad. The Pizza sandwich was so good. It looks like a flat bread but it was so good. We heated it up in the air fryer and it was perfect. Small spot you could casually pick up food and walk to if you're around downtown. Lots of cheese and sauce with a beautiful baguette to remind you that this place makes pizza too. Dough, cheese, and sauce are what this place really excels in. It's no surprise that they do it well across the board. Out of the sandwiches I tried, the gardinera pairs the best with the Drunken Chicken sandwich. I'm unsure if my hunger pangs were amplifying my experience, but this sandwich was something of legends... The ingredients combo into something a little too unfair to not be distributed to the rest of America. The food really feels special when you have it late night after a really long day of fun. The people are casual and nice and didn't make it awkward to eat there even though the place itself is quite small. Considering cops came in to order here out of all the places around, I can see how anyone could make this their staple spot.

It is shareable and hearty. The bread is so good. It's crusty and soft on the inside. It allows the right amount of sauce to soak in without being a giant mess. I don't consider it a save half and eat later sandwich though. In my experience it loses a bit of structure if not eaten right away. I have had the turkey, tuna, and meatball sandwich as well. All good and able to split into 2 meals and they save well. As mentioned, this spot is on repeat for me and haven't disliked anything. The pizza is ok but I wouldn't choose it as my pizza spot. There are better but if you are in a pinch a single slice option is nice. I enjoy the little Tiramisu cup. Perfect size. If you normally scroll by and wonder if you should try Nonna's go ahead. It's a good option.

I walked in and the incredible smell hit me, all the meats and bread on display, everything looks fresh. The crew behind the counter was top notch, super friendly and on it. Menu has a lot, but for my first time I went with the Italian. Hot capicola, Genoa salami, hard salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, oregano. First bite... everything just came together. The meats were layered perfectly, salty, a little spicy from the capicola, super flavorful. The provolone added that creamy, slightly sharp bite. Bread had a nice chew on the outside but soft inside, held everything without falling apart. The vinegar and oregano gave it that tang and freshness that cuts through all the richness. Nothing felt too heavy, just balanced. It's one of those sandwiches you don't wanna put down halfway through. I'll definitely be back to try more.

We were fortunate enough to be having dinner at an Italian restaurant in the same block, and I saw that they were open until midnight. I decided to grab a grinder and a couple of cannoli after dinner to consume the next day for lunch. They utilize a walk-up window for their later hours. I believe I mentioned during ordering that we "do not get grinders like this in Cali" and they were kind enough to let us indoors (surely knowing this weather was nearly "Antarctic penguin cold" for us) while our order was being finished. I saw various jars of giardiniera and muffuletta and could not resist buying a couple. Our store associate kindly wrapped them well in plastic wrap to ensure safe travel back to Cali. Our sandwich maker was a cool guy as well and conversational with us. They even gave us some brief family history on the place. Unfortunately, without my knowledge the wife set us up with an Uber while waiting so we had to dash and run to make our next stop before their closing time. "Foodies are as foodies do"... The FOOD review: CANNOLI w/cherries: -- it appears they use Amarena Bologna cherries which are so much better tasting than the standard maraschino bright red ones. I prefer morello cherries or these when using them in cannoli pie or on Chicago style or ricotta cheesecake. -- cheese tastes of cow's milk ricotta and is well strained so not watery -- lightly sweet is appreciated as it should be...no fake Italian sugar bomb with chocolate sauce and whipped cream like they do in Cali sometimes -- smaller portion size but value is good -- smoother textured than grainy -- shell is light colored and pretty solid -- up to a moderate dusting of powdered sugar on exterior -- appears freshly filled as there is no soggy shell syndrome whatsoever, crunchy and firm (I ate one two days later and it still had a firm shell) -- I have about 8 different cannoli pie recipes I created and make for friends, family and colleagues now and then. I transitioned to pie ages ago because there are so many bad shells and a graham cracker crust is always legit and easy to find. -- IMHO this is a much better and truer cannoli rendition than what you will find at D'Amato's Bakery in Chicago RATING = A "MR. G SPECIALTY GRINDER": -- I briefly considered "The Italian" or asking for a combo of the two but this stood out so I stuck with it -- I requested it "wet" as I hate anything dry (bread, meat etc.) and prefer extra "juice" (red wine vinegar, EVO) -- bread is not thick nor thin but just right with great texture, taste and freshness -- loved all the flavors and additions -- not a moose overloaded grinder but just right for those out of their twenties who do not need "sandie leftovers for days" -- good value here too RATING = A+ They even sell some appealing looking BLOOD ORANGE (and other flavors) sorbet. I definitely recommend them for a super hospitable Italiano experience with great eats. They even made the "Top Sandwich joints" in America list by Food & Wine magazine per associate and a quick Internet search.
