I did an online order for pickup, and the pizza was ready before the promised time. I did show up way earlier and just sat down and patiently waited. This place gets really busy with pickup orders. At least about 10 people within a 10-15 minute window. The staff was great. Very friendly and efficient. I did enjoy seeing The Blues Brothers wall as well. It seemed to be a fan favorite. I ordered a large Deep Dish with Italian sausage. The pizza was definitely big and very filling. The crust was cooked perfectly and just the perfect amount of cheese and sausage. The sauce stood out to me the most. Nice and chunky, acidic and seasoned perfectly. Very flavorful which made the rest of the pizza stand out. Bartoli's remains my favorite neighborhood pizza joint, especially for their unique deep dish and affordable prices. While so many places have raised prices to the point where a pizza costs most than a steak dinner ($30+ for a thin crust cheese pie???), Bartoli's keeps the prices reasonable and the quality high. Their New York style is serviceable, perhaps not quite on the level of say Zaza's or Paulie Gee's Wicker Park, but certainly a nice alternative, especially when slices are available. For me, it's their deep dish, easily the most underrated in the city. Skip Lou's. Always skip Giordano's. This is the best deep dish crust, with excellent, "pully" cheese and a less sweet, slightly tangy sauce. I don't eat deep dish much, but every month or so I get a craving for Bartoli's and it never disappoints. I wish Yelp had the ability to do half stars because I'd give them a 3.5/5 if possible. First of all, the service is incredible and the interior was nice and clean. Dinner for 2- including an appetizer, pizza and dessert came to around $45 which is pretty affordable. Let's talk food: the wings were cooked well but wish they had more salt and pepper. They were good but not blow your mind good. The pizza had a nicely cooked thin crust but it did get oily and soggy the more you let it sit. I liked how the pizza was packed with meat but it was a hair too much cheese, but still delicious. For dessert, I tried their brownie (super rich and soft) and Eli's cheesecake was standard. Came here with my daughter, sil, toddler granddaughter, son, and husband at about 6 pm on a Sunday evening. We were the only ones eating in at first but it filled up fast. You order in front and they bring the food to the table. Son was in from out of town and wanted deep dish pizza, and son in law has celiac and needed gluten free crust. We ordered a small deep dish (the one with all the meats- forget the name), a small gluten free crust with sausage, and a salad with chicken. Food came out in less than 45 min. The deep dish pizza was very good- and I'm a NY style pizza girl. It was more than enough for 3 of us- we took 2 slices home. The salad was delicious- lots of chicken and avocado as well as other tasty things. Son in law said the gluten free pizza was good too. Place was clean and the service was good. A true neighborhood pizzeria. Right near Addison on the Brown line, the cute cashier was smart and knew great customer service. Maybe not food wise, but was attentive and forthright. Surprisingly, the pizza is not too filling even though both slices are large in appearance. Known here for the thin crust, I got both and both left me feeling pretty good. Remember, these are not New York slices, so feel free to use a fork and a knife to eat these. I will not judge you for doing that. Deep dish pizza is not pizza, it is casserole masquerading as pizza. We just ordered pick up, but there was some seating available for those that wanted to dine-in. All of the tables were occupied and there were groups of people waiting. What is there to do in Chicago you may ask? Well, if you're craving pizza, you can stop by Bartoli's Pizzeria. I went inside with my girlfriend and it was crowded, but it was Saturday, so that was kind of expected. We sat down at a little two-person table towards the corner. They don't have a server wait on your table here, so they have you go to the counter to place your order once you're ready. They do the Party Cut, Thin Crust pizza here, which is a Chicago must-try I'd say! I, of course, went with the Bartoli's Chicago Classic pizza. It's named after the place, so it had to be pretty important. It had Italian sausage, mushroom, onion, and green pepper on it. I got a Fountain Drink. It was self-serve, so refills were free. We also got a Nonna Bartoli's Famous Meatball Sandwich. It had two meatballs on French bread topped with their homemade marinara. It was hard not to get dessert, so I got each of us a Cannoli. I tried the Coca-Cola from the fountain and it was pretty good. I quickly switched to Diet Coke, as I'm a big diet soda buff. Their Diet Coke was smooth and tasty. The pizza took about 20 minutes, so that wasn't bad. I would've been worried if it came out any quicker. It arrived to our table hot and fresh. I was impatient, so I burnt my body at first eating it. Oh well, it was worth the pain, because the pizza was great! I loved how I could taste the char on the crust. The Meatball Sammich was great as well! The marinara really made the whole thing for me. Try it out and you'll see what I mean. We took the Cannolis for later. They were both good, but oddly the cream in the second one tasted better. The service was friendly and efficient. They got a minor part of our order wrong, but fixed the issue without hesitation. They even cleaned up our table after we finished. Overall, this pizza place was a great stop and you should add it to your bucket list to try out Chicago's Party Cut Thin Crust pizza. I would definitely order from them again if I'm ever in the area. First time having deep dish pizza. I came here on recommendation from one of my favorite Chicago YouTube channels (Luis Gusto). The pizza is super cheesy and the crust is excellent. Sauce and meat were great. One thing is.. it seems everyone in Chicago has an opinion on which location has the best deep dish (but apparently local Chicagoans go for tavern style over deep dish). This cost $17 before I tipped the driver $4.50. I ordered a pizza burger with provolone. Where is the cheese or tomato sauce? I ordered shoestring fries for a couple bucks upgrade from regular fries that come with the burger. Nope. Didn't get that correctly either. I got cold, undercooked, extremely skimpy portion sized regular fries. I missed getting a photo of the meatball I ordered as well. That might have been the best of the order, but it arrived cold and undercooked on top of that. Unreal. I have had pizza here before which most of the time was great, but two times was lacking big time. Now this happens. Three strikes and you are out. I feel like I just got food delivered from communist Poland circa 1950. Edit: I have been in contact with the owner and he is going to remedy the issue. He also apologized. Just when I thought it was safe to say that the only slice of pizza worth having in Chicago was Art Of Pizza, I found another one that is very similar! And similarly delicious! Art's Pizza is still the best and I think it always will be because nothing could compare to those incredible wedges of deep dish Perfection, but these deep dishes of perfection are, well, perfect too! So you have to try both and decide for yourself! Art is more famous, sure. However Bartoli is uses a similar formula and has a similar taste, a similar consistency, it's similarly spectacular. Similar price too, and similar ingredients. It's definitely the second-best in all of Chicago (which is a massive compliment as this city has amazing pizza), and it's not too far behind. May even be level. Decide for yourself! Skip Pequods and the like. Hipster, dry, overpriced, overrated. The chains are decent, especially Lou Malnati's, but nowhere near as amazing as Bartoli's. So yes, the guy in here was absolutely lovely and his pizza was absolutely delicious. One of the best deep dish slices I've ever had and the second best in town. Also one of the very best in the country because the standard is so incredibly high around here. As I said, other than these two slice places (Bartoli's and AOP), you should probably try a personal pizza from Lou Malnati's which is the best of the local chains, but really nothing compares to a these hefty, homemade, delectable wedges of heaven that Bartoli's is serving up in their cute little North Chicago neighbourhood. Just don't swallow it down too fast, or you'll Burp-oli. Now time to rap. Excellent Deep Dish Pizza without a doubt. My buddy and I were fat asses and were starving before the show we went to. We ordered a 14" Bartoli's Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza with pepperoni added to it ( ya know because it wasn't thick enough as is pssshhh). It came out glowing I swear to God, it was beautiful! every bite was just filled with whatever sausage, onions, peppers , and cheese, and was loaded with sauce! From Ohio, visited the city in mid-January, and found Bartoli's in a search. We visited the Roscoe Village location and it was homey and cozy as you'd hope a great pizza place would be!
