Foreground, my dish of two meat selections and one vegetarian, the other plate is 3 vegetarian selections.

We stopped in for lunch with a friend on Wednesday. The pizza is pre-cooked, but flash warmed after ordering. It is sold by the pound which is rather deceptive if you do not have experience of what the serving sizes are relative to the typical round pizzas most folks are used to. They have a nice variety of vegetarian and, meat combos . We each got different selections. They cut the pizza with scissors, warm it and bring it out to you. The ambiance is definitely urban, as there is no inside seating. We sat in the patio which was freezing from the wind. No space heaters. The lone worker politely brought our hot selections to us. There is no soda fountain, only canned drinks. The pizza tasted quite good and the toppings were good flavor pairings, but it was quite pricey relative to other pizza options. If I lived in the area, I would likely not go routinely but only if I was in a time crunch.

My favorite mystery pizza box so far. Food -- Got to try five flavors: Spicy Eggplant, Sausage & Mushroom, Chicken Pesto, Cherry Tomato, and the daily special Pumpkin Sausage. Zero misses -- all were genuinely good. Service -- Super kind staff. Gave thoughtful recs and even slipped me an extra small slice to taste -- also delicious. Ambiance -- Small shop with hand-drawn graphics and a cozy, lived-in feel. Would 100% come back.

My friend has lived nearby for years and had never been here--which blew my mind. But I'm betting she'll be a regular now. This spot is inspired by a Roman pizza place of the same name, where you buy your pizza by the inch--and with around 100 rotating flavors, it's basically a pizza playground. We tried three, but the clear standout was the zucchini and ricotta slice. I'm still thinking about it like it's a lost summer romance. Also, shoutout to the one guy working--he was unbelievably nice. If I lived nearby, I'd be here every three days, minimum. Probably more.

This is a great alternative to fast casual pizza options--sure, it's not any of the newer, flashier sit down joints but the flavors are super unique and the crust is delish. We didn't eat in (though there are outdoor tables and counter option inside) but it is cool to see the giant specialty oven used for all the za! Would definitely go back over as it was tastier than your average delivery pizza. Vegan options are available.

I came here for fuel not expecting to actually enjoy the food. Holy Moly we had the buratta and the lemon recota. The burata is the best Italian pizza I've had since Venice in 2019. Mind you its just their version of margherita. It's a thin crust with dollops of burata in tomato sauce and basil. Amazing!

Such a treat Bonci is one of our favorite pizza spots in Chicago. They have a variety of savory flavors and even better ones for breakfast too. My personal favorite is the potato mozzarella. Parking at this location is very difficult because of the blocked off construction on Wolcott. Allow extra time for parking in this area. We waited for a spot to open out back.

My new favorite pizza place! It's vegetarian and meat friendly. There's even a pizza dedicated to vegans. The space is such a great neighborhood spot for anyone who lives close by. It's also easy to find parking if you drive over. The inside of the space isn't too big but there's a lot of stools to sit on inside the shop and then there's the option to sit in their enclosed outdoor patio area. All the workers are so kind and genuinely so happy to be there. The way that it works with the pizza is you pick you pizza and you tell them how big of a slice you want. Then they weigh the slice to give you a price. I got the margarita Burrata and the spicy eggplant. My goodness. The dough was perfection. The slices were crisp on the bottom yet so soft on top. The flavors all went well together. There was just enough sauce. Ahhh just so yummy! Tip: they do have different locations. I believe the one in west loop/west town is larger.

Love the service. Love the outdoor seating area with grass and a little honey feel. It is away from the busy street. The pizza is great and has a lot of unique options. Pizza is by the weight. There are places to park on the side street and they heat it up for you to go. I would definitely recommend the potato, pesto, zucchini, mushroom, and eggplant.

Love it! No pretenses, friendly staff, and good food. Seating is deceptively plentiful - upon first glance it seems like there isn't a lot of seating but there's chairs lined up all against the wall and plenty of outdoor seating if it's nice out. I've tried the spicy eggplant, chicken Roma, and potato mozzarella pizza. My favorite was definitely the chicken Roma, although they are pretty heavy handed with the red pepper flakes. The potato mozzarella fell surprisingly flat. It needed some sort of herb to round it out. The pizza is pretty salty - so have that water ready. But the crust is what differentiates this pizza. That and the array of pizzas including a rotating selection! Love that they have several vegan and vegetarian options as well. Definitely recommend trying it at least once!

Prosciutto Cotto Pizza Burrata Basil Pizza Sausage & Mushroom Pizza

Really great for a quick but delicious meal! The burrata pizza was amazing, and the prosciutto cotto was also tasty. Favorite was the sausage and mushroom for sure. If doughy crust is your thing then you will enjoy it here. Very quick and efficient service, great outside seating, and not out of the ordinary for the area in terms of price.

Really cool idea of paying by the oz of pizza. A little overpriced, but the pizza was really good. My favorites were the Meatball because the red sauce was really good, and the prosciutto which had really yummy cheese and rosemary. The pepperoni was a good, classic pepperoni. The sausage and mushroom was good, too, but I got a few bites that were a little light on meat/mushroom - probably because it was a corner.

The first time I tried Bonci was during covid at one of their other locations. Instantly fell in love and unfortunately haven't been back since. I like to try new places every time, so it hard for me to repeat. But I'm really glad they opened up this location on the north side. It's such a convenient location. The staff here was great as well. They're all assigned to specific stations and have a nice quick flow going. Most importantly the pizza is just as delicious as I remember. The guy in front of me took just about all they had though. Luckily there was still some decent stuff to choose from. I ended up ordering their Cacio Pepe, Burrata & Basil, lemon ricotta zucchini, margarita and pepperoni. My favorites were the Burrata & basil and their pepperoni. My least favorites were the cacio Pepe and their margarita. I like basil and olive oil on my margarita. This one tasted like a plain cheese pizza. The cacio Pepe had onions underneath the cheese, and I hate onions on my pizza. The pepperoni was delicious. It was covered with pepperoni. It was a little spicy and the crust was perfect. The Burrata and basil was so flavorful. I didn't have my pizzas heater before I took them home which melted the Burrata away. Next time I come in I will tell them not to heat the Burrata & basil pizza. I will for sure not wait another two years before returning here. You will definitely see me coming more often. Hopefully they have other options to choose from.

Really great food and service! It's counter service, so they ask you which pizzas you want, cut you off the amount you want, and then put it in their oven. They also rotate their pizzas, so between the time we ordered and were done at the end, there were a few types cycled out with new ones in the lineup, pretty cool if you want a large variety to choose from! Pic from top left to bottom right: pepper and buratta, cacio el pepe, beef pepperoni, prosciutto (I think), fried onion, and spicy eggplant. We both loved fried onion the most, super yummy and a different flavor than many you can get. Also loved the cacio el pepe and eggplant! Will definitely be back. They have a nice covered patio with plenty of tables, and some indoor counter window seats as well

And…read moreI also knew I wanted to go to a Lou Malnati's location, since that's the chain I'd heard about the most. We showed up without a reservation on a very busy evening, so it was almost an hour of waiting before we were shown to spots at the bar, which suited me just fine because I'm always okay to sit at the bar. I felt like a cocktail and the Chicago-Style Bloody Mary ("Tito's Handmade Vodka, house tomato mix, pearl onion, tomato, Sport Pepper, pickle spear, celery salt rim") sounded quite tasty. And indeed it was. The balance of flavors was nicely done and the alcohol level was perfect. (I should also mention I'd been waiting for my chance to try the infamous Malort liquor, so when I spotted it on the shelf, I asked our super friendly and helpful bartender for a shot. She gave me a little smirk when I asked for it, which I thought was amusing, and then offered up a generous pour. It was...interesting. I'm glad I tried it but it's not something I need to ever drink again.) The star attraction, of course, was the deep dish. We opted for the Malnati Chicago Classic ("Made with Lou's lean sausage, some extra mozzarella cheese and vine-ripened tomato sauce on Buttercrust") and it was phenomenal. It was so cheesy and delicious, and that sausage was top-notch. I enjoyed the heck out of it, and I can safely say it even exceeded my already-high expectations. I'm so glad we hung around for Lou Malnati's. It was totally worth the wait.
