It's the pure essence of the sandwich in a pizza - amazing! We also had the White Russian, it was fine. For newbies, don't be bashful to ask how seating and ordering works, it will help your experience immensely. This place feels alive. Let's start with the vibe--it was super chill. There was plenty of seating and a huge bar right in the middle of the first floor. I didn't get to check out the whole place, but I was told they have upstairs, downstairs, and an outdoor patio too. The service was great! Great place to meet up with friends - that's what we did on a Saturday night and it had its high and lows but turned out to be a good night overall. We had a bit of a wait for an open table. They told us to stay in the bar area which was super cramped and warm. Once we got seated, it took another 10-15 minutes for anyone waiter to acknowledge us. I was here because of the television show The Bear, haha. It intrigued me that they featured New York style pizza in a show based in Chicago! The pizza was not too greasy, had a great cheese ratio, and included flavorful pepperoni. The atmosphere was cool because they had a fire going in their enclosed space, but with zero smoke or smell. We got a Manhattan pie (vodka sauce, garlic oil, roasted tomatoes, ricotta, pesto) and slices of Borgata (red sauce, shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, ricotta, calabrian chile honey, basil). The vodka sauce is flavorful. The Borgata was a delicious red sauce with a bit of a kick and sweetness from the honey. I think all pizza should have some honey on it. There's a ton of different cocktails, all of which sounded great. I love that many are classics or twists on classics (like Wisconsin old fashioned, Manhattan, Negroni, etc.) The service is friendly, but everything is ordered from your phone via QR code so it's very casual in that way. We continue to try Chicago magazine's top 25 pizza places and we had a great experience at Pizza Lobo. With a great outdoor space complete with a fire pit and and indoor space surrounding the bar, it had a fun and causal neighborhood vibe. You scan a QR code at your table and put in your order. We had fast and very polite service and our food was spaced out nicely. We ordered the Caesar salad to start which was plenty for the four of us. The salad was delicious and dressed perfectly! We got the Barracuda and Veggie Supreme pizzas and they were each cut into 8 large slices which was plenty of food for four people (we each took a slice home). The Veggie Supreme had a really crispy delicious crust and lots of basil. It was also seasoned perfectly and it was my favorite of the two pizzas. The Barracuda crust was a little thinner and the roasted tomato on top of it added great spice. The garlic oil really enhanced the flavor of both pizzas . The only thing we wished both pizzas had was red sauce but believe me everything was still delicious. A special shout out for the amazing non alcoholic grapefruit OG drink. I'm going to be super basic here for a second and admit that I came to Pizza Lobo because of The Bear. Now that we have that out of the way, I'm beyond impressed with this place. The food was fantastic. I tried the Manhattan pizza.the Burrata slice, and the buffalo cauliflower. The crust on the pizza was thin and perfectly cooked, the tomatoes tasted super fresh, and the sauce was so well seasoned. The buffalo sauce on the cauliflower had a nice kick and the cauliflower was very fresh. The servers are super friendly and more than willing to walk you through how ordering works (order via QR code). This place feels like I'm over at a friend's back yard hanging out.
