    Exceeds expectations! CHOMPS Cheese pizza
    Sandy R.

Exceeds expectations! Bubbly toasted blistery peaks, actual toasted crispy crust with a toothy bite of balanced well seasoned fermented dough. Not weighed down with greasy cheese Nor watery sauce here!

    $5 special Slice

For being nestled in the 18th pink line stop, this is an absolute gem. Quick pick up, and can't be mad for at a $5 slice of pie. Eat while you wait for your train or walk up and down 18th Street and look at small businesses as your chowing down. Gonna be running it back soon

Now this is a no frills pizza spot, for real pizza lovers only. You come in and you get a slice, you can eat it right there at the pink line station and you can just enjoy the classic flavors of a fresh cheese slice for just $5. We came in and got a slice of the cheese and a slice of the special. Both were great but I'm always impressed when someone can do a plain cheese slice and make me want more. The crust is crispy, light, has the right amount of char to it. The cheese is light too, just like a classic slice in NY. The sauce - we kept talking about the sauce and the owner told us how simple the recipe was - either he was being modest or he just has a special touch because the sauce really did make this plain cheese slice stand out. If you've ever been on pizza tours across the US, this is reminiscent of a New Haven slice as well. Just overall good and simple concept. I don't think it needs to be over complicated!

I have been trying to get my hands on a slice of this pizza for a long time but because of my work hours I was never able to. I finally got one yesterday. They have 2 different pizzas, the regular cheese and their special. I forgot what the special was but I opted for their cheese. We also got a free cherry with our order, which was the first thing I ate and it was extremely fresh and crunchy. As soon as I saw the slice, I knew I made a great choice. The crust was so thin and crispy, the sauce was sweet and perfect. Everything I love in pizza was on this slice. I will definitely be coming back now that I'm on summer hours. This is my new favorite pizza!

My wife is from New York and impossible to please with Chicago pizza. She does not like Chicago pizza. It will lead to our eventual divorce. I'm Southside Chicago through and through. I got her a slice from Chomp and she thought it was closest thing to NY that's she's had in Chicago. We've tried a lot! She actually like it. The guy working was cool and likable. He told me had some unfortunate interactions with earlier customers. Which adds to the "character" of grabbing a slice inside a slightly sketch L stop. Don't be afraid. Pull up. Pop on the hazards and grab a quick slice on the go. I really liked it! We'll be back.

Pizza was bland. Flavor of the sauce was decent but it wasn't distributed across the slice evenly thus my remarks of bland flavor. Price is high imho but the slices are pretty big. Crust was very evocative of New York style pizza. Only 3 items on the menu & they dont take cash.

Who knew you can get a legit ny slice in Pilsen! Stopped in yesterday after hockey in need of a slice. Walked in the 18th st pink line station and it's right on the left. Ordered at the window and while I waited I talked to Travis about pro sports. $5 a slice you can't go wrong. Got it on a paper plate and I was out the door. That first bite was . Super thin dough with a great undercarriage. Every bite had a crunch. Sauce had a little tanginess which I like. Cheese was nice and melted. If you're in the area def worth a stop in!

This pizza is a dream come true. Quality slices, beautifully fermented dough cooked with a lovely char that balances all of the flavors (with this type pizza you want a little char to accentuate the dough's deliciously fermented flavor and texture. True pizza aficionados know this, otherwise, I might as well eat white bread with ketchup) Robust tomato and just the right amount of cheese. Keep doing what you're doing, Team Chomp! I'll continue to send folks in the neighborhood your way.

Chomp Pizza is hands down the best NY-style pizza in Chicago. I've had and made 1000's of NY-style pizza's in my life and they are far and away the best in Chicago. Travis and his dedication to making a quality product and not cutting corners is heavily apparent in his delicate, crispy, well proofed crust. The caramelized, stretchy, slightly salty cheese balances the clean, sweet, Tomato forward tomato sauce. A lovely bite all the way through. One slice isn't enough, get em while they last!!! Bravo Travis. Incredible job.

It's still pretty basic with simple meat sauce and cheese, but I actually appreciated the simplicity--it was different without trying too hard. The highlight was definitely the BREAD for a starter! Super thin, perfectly seasoned, and so delicious. It also held up really well as leftovers later that evening. A fun little spot for a casual date night!

They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. But it's also the place you come back to on your own, because once you've had that pizza pot pie, it lives rent‑free in your brain until you return.

He recommended some great items on the menu, checked in at just the right times without ever hovering, and somehow managed to get our food out incredibly quickly. It deserves a 5-star review on its own. We're not sure if it's included with the service, but it definitely made everything taste better! A huge thank you to Adam for making our visit so memorable. When I walked by, it was very crowded, loud, and busy with a line going down the street. I decided to place my order online instead, but here's something you definitely need to know: ordering online does NOT mean your deep-dish pizza will be ready quickly.Mine took about an hour and 15 minutes which I was told is pretty normal because deep-dish takes a while to make. I had my little stool with me, so I sat outside, took some pictures, and did some people-watching while I waited. There is some street parking, but there's a large building across the street that looks like apartments or possibly a hotel, so parking wasn't the easiest. They have a little To Go area where you can grab drinks and other items. I also bought a couple of their frozen deep-dish pizzas to take home and I'm glad I did! I baked one at 350° for about 40 minutes and it came out gooey, gooey, CHEEZY Iwould've liked a little more meat on it, but it was still good. They ship also. I also ordered a small/personal deep-dish pizza while I was there. By the time I ate it, it wasn't as warm as I would've liked, and I'm one of those people who does NOT like cold pizzaI know some people love it, but that's not me! So if you're like me, I recommend eating yours as soon as you pick it up from the counter while it's still hot. I ordered a soda. Total about $75 If you plan to dine in, give yourself plenty of timeThis place is very popular and the line can get LONG. Overall, the pizza wasn't bad, and I would definitely go back and try something different next time. The frozen pizza I brought home and baked fresh was actually one of my favorite parts!

Vibes in there are super fun and chic, casual but still cute and a little bit old-school I had done my research on our order lol but was really impressed by everything. We started with mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, and meatballs, which were all generous portions and very tasty. The mozzarella sticks were very silky on the inside crunchy on the outside and came with a nice flavorful pomodoro dip. The meatballs had an Italian sausage/fennel flavor and were very tender, and the zucchini chips were the star of the apps!! Nice and crisp, they were cut into little super thin chips not like a traditional fried zucchini and the dipping sauce on that was also delicious and super fresh tasting Finally, we tried the spicy vodka tavern style pizza and added pepperoni to half. It was great both ways, super flavorful and the crust was perfectly crisp without being dry or overly crumbly. Pepperoni was a nice addition but not needed for sure. Would love to come back to try a pasta and dessert!
